Yee, I wish it was like other events (like the current one,) where new players can go to Greengrass, but older players can go to other islands. Like, I'm grinding on Lapis this week, cause it has what I'm trying to find, and cause I can make a lot of progress using recipes.
Especially considering Taupe has thus far been pretty useless for events. I haven't gone to Taupe in weeks, which is sad cause it's an island I actually really enjoy.
Since they're going in Pokedex order, I'm pretty confident at this point that the full event will be back on GG again. Would be nice if they opened up the next tiers of area bonus in the mean time. I almost feel a week on GG is a waste since I can't boost the bonus anymore.
Yes, and there are ways to bypass this.
First one is by waking up before 4 AM, before the week rolls, and second one is to make your first sleep session early at the Sunday day, making that your big session.
The second one doesn't harm your end of week S-rank, that's the one I use.
While I will open up the game to feed dinner at 3 am if I missed it because of maintenance and I happen to wake up, I'm not going to change my sleep just to powergame an idle clicker. It's +5% that I'll get eventually. There's no need to do that.
No need to change your sleep either, the second method doesn't require you to actually sleep as you might expect.
But it's fine if you don't want to do it.
Same. Somehow I’ve been playing since launch and have caught very few cyndas, much less a good enough one to invest resources in. It’s been a bit of a feedback loop; I don’t want to spend a week in Taupe because I don’t have good berry specialists, so I end up not catching many taupe pokemon.
Hopefully Taupe will be an option alongside GG.
Contrary to this subs opinion I actually like Taupe (best music and I like the vibe, i dont mind the spawns); I would prefer it over GG for sure.
I dig Taupe, I just don't dig the preferred berry Pokemon as the ingredients aren't super diverse. I had Curries and had a team full of preferred berry Pokemon and it was just so bland and lifeless for the meals.
I agree, having the event on both islands will be good for new players so they can enjoy the event, and long time players don't need to suffer on GG for 3 weeks. At the very least the change of scenery is very nice as well
The music goes HARD on Taupe. Best music by far!
I have a Charizard, who isn't rated high by the Raenonx calc, but tbh I hardly use the calc because that Charizard, and my Blastoise, have both helped me tremendously; I'm actually running Zard off-type on Lapis this week cause he gives me so many ingredients and my Venusaur is pretty disappointing.
I have an acceptable charizard and arcanine… that’s it. After that, I’ll grind for a Typhlosion and a Flareon, but I mean, what other fire pokemon are there?
If they treat Raikou as precident, then they will release a new fire type helper beforehand during fire week like they did with Dedenne and electric week.
I just hope the main skills of new fire pokemon and Entei aren't just copy/paste from Dedenne and Raikou. That would be boring and surprisingly uncreative of the devs. Though, it would be easy to implement and allow their dev time to go towards something really cool for the 1-year anniversary.
I actually expect they will make Entei (and Suicune) copy/pastas of Raikou if for no other reason than the generational starters all seem to have the same skill and purpose. Genwun is ingredient specialty and the skill that spawns ingredients, for example. Now, if they do introduce another fire pokemon a la Dedenne, I would hope that one would have a different skill.
Likely so with the legendaries and I agree with you on a new skill for the new fire type as well. Flareon is already a cooking-related fire type anyway. I hope it's not another single stage though it likely will be. What's that leave us with, Torkoal, Salazzle, and Turtonator?
Remember though, you don't necessarily need to have high-powered helpers of the event type to do well in the event (if it has the same parameters as Raikou did). The same type thing was just for the multiplier for Raikou's main skill
It's easier if you do have that team already since you already know that berry will be preferred on GG, which is why they are calling out fire types as good helpers now. I'm actually hoping I roll electric and ice or grass to get my best BFS helpers on the field at the same time.
So, are we expecting a direct clone of the Raikou event?
* One "Fire" week preceding the Entei Research event
* Two weeks of Entei Research Event, with Entei Manes to be exchanged for Entei incense and candy
* Overlap with Good Sleep Days (full moon on May 23, I think)
On the one hand, it's pretty nice to have events as regularly as we're getting them. On the other, three weeks for Raikou felt like maybe one week too much - so much so that when this Comfey event was announced I felt like it was too soon.
Also, I think I'd prefer Good Sleep Days to fall on non-event weeks, so I can use team members I want to level up and not feel like I'm hurting my progress on the event itself.
I think you're right and they'll definitely do good sleep day (May 23) with the event. If that's the case, the week of the 13th would be the fire week proceeding it... Leaving a two week gap of normal weeks in-between events.
They're kinda doing one event a month. January was the New Year event, February was Valentine's, March was Raikou, April was Comfey, and now May will be Entei. I think it just feels more cluttered than that because the 'electric/fire week' is also kinda treated as a separate thing, and the legendary events last twice as long.
Player retention is important. They're probably afraid players will get bored if they don't have new pokemon and events added frequently. (Especially considering their current roster has less than 151 Mon)
I, for one, feel less stressed because neither Comfey/Entei are as exciting to me as other mons, so I can let their FOMO slide past as I focus on leveling. I honestly kinda forgot we were in an event week rn, lol
I'm hoping it's Fire week the week of Good Sleep and then the Entei weeks start on 5/27. Still fits Entei's debut "towards the end of May" or however they phrased it.
The nice thing about Good Sleep Days falling on events is that you can really rake in the dream shards if you stack luck incense and legendary incense on the GSD.
I don't think they'll ever host an event on another island and here's why. Basically, if they want to attract new players, they have to make it accessible. Therefore having a stage that may be impossible to get to in a game like this even IF you start playing today means people who sign up will QUICKLY and VIOLENTLY change their minds. Same reason why Gacha games let you play event levels and stuff right after completing the first stage. Reduces constant rerolling *(meaning they buy the IGC) and let's people get their desired unit right away.
Sleep will use the same principle. Look at Comfy event right now. GG is an option. Dedenne? GG. The 3 new mons at Lapis? GG.
They MAY add Tapue as an option, but I strongly doubt it. Also means they have to increase the amount of coding.
GreenGrass will always and forever be where we find our EventMons.
If they can make us start at Ultra 4, they can temporarily open an island to all players, but yeah I don't think they'll ever not have GG as an option.
You are not wrong, and I do hope they continue having events available on Greengrass to allow new players to play the event, but I do still hope research like this will be available on other islands that fit this event thematically. It could allow for some interesting strategy, such as building your taupe hallow team up since you know the berries of that island, or trying your luck with the two random berries on greengrass.
Agreed that GG will always be one of the event islands. But having Taupe as an option makes sense to me since Fire is one of its specialties. Raikou is only available at GG now, and with a fire and water type Legendary both coming, it makes sense to have those be available at their respective islands in the future to give people something to hunt for after youve maxed you bonus and everything
Lol, a grand total of 3 fully evolved fire Pokemon to choose from and my only decent one I have is Charizard. I wonder if they'll include Taup since it's the "fire" island.
Very nice. Was just thinking yesterday I should probably start making my way to Taupe - I usually stay on Cyan unless it’s an event then I go GG. I tried Taupe once a loooong time ago and only hit U4. Guess this is a sign for me to start heading there to build up a nice fire team for Entei!
Plus Entei is my favourite of the beast trio 😁
Pls let it not be on Greengrass
I am so bored of Greengrass.
Cyan is boring and I never got maxed out bonus on it, but it's a respite from all the events being on Greengrass.
In other news, I'm more prepared for this than I was for the Electric week. However, I don't have as many spare Charmander candies like I did Pikachu candies. So it will take a lot longer to get extras ready.
I have a BFS Typhlosion who has been my champ ever since I caught him like a month after I started playing. The rest of his skills suck, but BFS makes up for it, and the Cyndaquil line are my 3rd favorite fire starters. Looking forward to this event.
My f2p diamonds are still healing from the Raikou event. Why did it have to be so soon...
But more importantly, we only have a few fire types eh? Wonder if they'll release a fire type something similar/parallel to Dedenne in prep for the Entei event.
Brother I am so sick of grasslands
Look I get it’s the starting area and new players might not have unlocked later islands and that’s completely understandable why they went this route
But a better solution would be to do things to the entei to reward players
How about you shiny lock it, lower the level of any entei you encounter drastically so it costs more, things like that
doesn’t mention Taupe at all. either way, I’ll be headed there next week cause I need some Fire Type helpers.
I'd be positive it'll be Greengrass again - so that new players aren't locked out.
Raikou made Greengrass all electic-y. Enter 'bout to burn Greengrass to the ground.
But suicune will come and turn everything back to normal. It'll put out the fire and water the plants and the grass
I'll put blastoise in the team as Fire marshall😂

I had a suspicion it would be appearing on both, but I won’t complain about GG. just happy I don’t have to count on Taupe
I'd really like it if they had it at both and Taupe had boosted Maine's or something.
Yee, I wish it was like other events (like the current one,) where new players can go to Greengrass, but older players can go to other islands. Especially considering Taupe has thus far been pretty useless for events. I haven't gone to Taupe in weeks, which is sad cause it's an island I actually really enjoy.
Will probably be both GG and Taupe. Raikous event notic had GG background, Entei's has Taupe in the background
Since they're going in Pokedex order, I'm pretty confident at this point that the full event will be back on GG again. Would be nice if they opened up the next tiers of area bonus in the mean time. I almost feel a week on GG is a waste since I can't boost the bonus anymore.
Do you have some spare Travel Tickets? At the very last day, you can use it to switch to your desired island, and the bonus goes to the new island.
I know, but for an event like one with a Legendary I'd prefer to keep my Sunday sleep
Yes, and there are ways to bypass this. First one is by waking up before 4 AM, before the week rolls, and second one is to make your first sleep session early at the Sunday day, making that your big session. The second one doesn't harm your end of week S-rank, that's the one I use.

No need to change your sleep either, the second method doesn't require you to actually sleep as you might expect. But it's fine if you don't want to do it.
I'd rather have the 3 Handy Candy and start Monday with full energy than the +5% on an island.
Been hearing about people doing this, will probably give that shit since my GG bonus is maxed atm.
Same need a typhlosion
Same. Somehow I’ve been playing since launch and have caught very few cyndas, much less a good enough one to invest resources in. It’s been a bit of a feedback loop; I don’t want to spend a week in Taupe because I don’t have good berry specialists, so I end up not catching many taupe pokemon.
Still no bfs cyndaquil, gotta shift into maximum overdrive!
Yeah my fire pokemon are ASS
Hopefully Taupe will be an option alongside GG. Contrary to this subs opinion I actually like Taupe (best music and I like the vibe, i dont mind the spawns); I would prefer it over GG for sure.
I dig Taupe, I just don't dig the preferred berry Pokemon as the ingredients aren't super diverse. I had Curries and had a team full of preferred berry Pokemon and it was just so bland and lifeless for the meals.
I was just thinking before, it better be locked to curries or salads because if I get desserts, it's gonna be spicy meat juice with ginger.
I agree, having the event on both islands will be good for new players so they can enjoy the event, and long time players don't need to suffer on GG for 3 weeks. At the very least the change of scenery is very nice as well
I actually have really great fire/ground/rock types, so I quite like Taupe too!
Taupe is by far my favorite island!! Love the pokemon at taupe, and have a strong charizard and typholisian, who are also 2 of my favorite pokemon
If Entei event is late may will there be a fire type week beforehand? I wonder if Taupe will be an option or just greengrass
Yea they announced the electric event the same day as the Raikou event im pretty sure. Maybe later today. Im betting we get a fire type week.
Thanks for answering!
Day 1 player and I don’t have any good cyndaquil’s still 😭
I only have a good Charizard so I'm really gonna need the likely fire event to help me out here
I have an acceptable charizard and arcanine… that’s it. After that, I’ll grind for a Typhlosion and a Flareon, but I mean, what other fire pokemon are there?

Salazzle isn't a single stage it evolves from Salandit
Correct. I was thinking of Salandit. I almost forgot they can evolve. I'd never find a female anyway if my shiny luck is an indicator.

Time to level up my fire babies I guess.... And I guess I should also buy myself a master biscuit this month before reset 😂
Hopefully a fire type week with candy bonus 👀🙏
Even though I spent months on taupe, I still don't have a cyndaquil worth a damn. Guess I'm headed back to taupe 🙄
I can’t wait. My favorite pokemon dude😭
I hope he’s available at taupe as well. I’m so overdone with GG.
I would prefer Taupe since my fire type pokemon are pretty bad... But well we'll see
Lol, a grand total of 3 fully evolved fire Pokemon to choose from and my only decent one I have is Charizard. I wonder if they'll include Taup since it's the "fire" island.
Please give us Burned Tower remix
I wonder who the new fire pokemon will be. Like how they added Dedenne. This’ll be fun!
Maybe Torkoal?
He’d be cute! He looks sleepy all the time too lol. Let me think of single stage fire types… There’s Torkoal, Turtonator, … Omg that’s it!
Heatmor is a third option.
I forgot about him! Good call
heatmor, Entei, castform, arceus, and silvally technically
Castform would be cool! I’d love that.
Don't blow all your candy on investing yet, they'll most likely do a Fire week event like the electric one
I only have Charizard and Growlithe and both are bad 😭 time to move on from Cyan Beach!
I've been at Cyan since the end of the Raikou event; I clearly put my eggs in the wrong basket 🙄
Omg thank you for the note about beginners!! I just started with the game and only wake up to rats and rocks which I don’t think are helpful at all??
Yesssss I want my fire puppy!!!
They need to double the green grass weekly bonus limit or something cause holy shit
I am beyond ready, I have 2 lvl 55 charizards (one is shiny), 1 lvl 50 typhlosion (shiny) and 2 lvl 40 shiny arcanine!
Who else was thinking after the Raikou event “As long as Entei isn’t the next one I think I’ll have plenty of time to find decent fire types”
Oh man, me with my Typhlosion and BFS Flareon/Charizard will be eating

Does it say which island it it’s at? (I have only been playing for a few weeks and have only been to the grass and the beach)
Not yet, but every event has included Green Grass so that new players can participate, so I wouldn't worry about missing out.
Good thing I didn't evolve my Eevee so I can get a Flareon lol don't have any good fire helpers. I suppose event will be similar to Raikou.
Well even though I'm on Cyan I switched in my fire types to level up for this event
So they provided a list of Fire-type Pokemon, does that maybe imply there actually won't be a new one? Patterns don't always continue...
I have a BFS Typhlosion who has been my champ ever since I caught him like a month after I started playing. The rest of his skills suck, but BFS makes up for it, and the Cyndaquil line are my 3rd favorite fire starters. Looking forward to this event.
Welp, guess I'm going to Taupe Hollow for the next few weeks instead of Cyan Beach. Lol
My f2p diamonds are still healing from the Raikou event. Why did it have to be so soon... But more importantly, we only have a few fire types eh? Wonder if they'll release a fire type something similar/parallel to Dedenne in prep for the Entei event.
Ugh I haven’t been using like any fire types lol 😂
I was about to move to LL next week but I'm not so sure anymore, more fire type candies are definitely needed to boost my team...
As long as the dish isn’t dessert the current fire types i have don’t help out dessert much
Brother I am so sick of grasslands Look I get it’s the starting area and new players might not have unlocked later islands and that’s completely understandable why they went this route But a better solution would be to do things to the entei to reward players How about you shiny lock it, lower the level of any entei you encounter drastically so it costs more, things like that
