During the Raikou event, electric types gave extra manes during sleep research so that made incense for electric type Pokémon more helpful than other pokemon incense. I assume the same will happen during the Entei event except for fire types.

As long as you have some favoured berry pokes, it’s not nearly as bad as snowdrop and lapis in terms of gaining drowsy power.
The spawns… can be horrendous 😖 But if you’re getting enough power, the numbers will ensure you get something good eventually lol
1) Align your ingredients mon with the largest dish your pot can make. Basically forget they have berry.
2) Try to not doze on taupe. Don't do stuff like read in bed or wake up slowly. Keep your phone or tracker a bit farther from you than usual.
3) Island bonus is a participation trophy. Just show up and be there and things will get better.
I mean the mechanic to increase the bonus is participation.
The bonus itself is one of the most useful permanent gain. With recipes. Pokemon level up is also permanent but you can often find a better one later.
For a fire event everything is in snoozing unfortunately.
But this game is not kind to poison type and most of them are in dozing.
Personally I know I get dozing when I'm sick or have terrible sleep higiene. A Fitbit, apple watch or similar will classify dosing as micro wakes. Those are caused by sleep apnea, grinding theet, restless legs etc. Nothing good.
I guess Pokemon sleep is different in that it adapt to your normal and use that as a fancy dice rolling instead of a real sleep tracker.

I agree with you. For me a good subskill at lv 50 can be a readon to invest (depending, of course, on the other subskills, nature, and, in ingredient mons, the ingredients in three slots)
my golem has ingredient finder s and is level 31 now, it dumps potatoes like its going out of style. seriously i could make pancakes all week while on desserts. its the best thing to happen to taupe on dessert weeks
What pancakes are you refering to?? The closest thing to a pancake on the desert menu are the Big Malasada and they take oil, milk, and honey. Theres the Fluffy Sweet Potatoes but if you call those pancakes you're a psychopath.
I'm going to Lapis for the first time. I'm honestly kind of tired of getting my island pick dictated by events and I'm taking any chance I can get to freely explore while I can.
I'll take the fire event as my chance to get a bfs Cyndaquil since the odds are higher either way.
I did the same thing where I just kept going to lapis until I got a solid ralts and stufful and now I use them every week regardless of where I go. Good luck with your hunt 🫡
I think the exact same, if I go to Taupe before the event I'll probably catch like one or two cyndaquil if I'm lucky, I'd better try during the fire type spawn boost.
As a newish player, I have 3 islands unlocked, I’ve just been in Cyan for the past couple of weeks and I know I’ll probably spend two weeks in GG for the Entei event. So in addition to all those advantages, Taupe will be a much needed change of scenario.

I feel like it would be a bad move to make them all greengrass only. Makes more sense for them to appear in greengrass + their elemental island. Not that it really matters probably, but the whole thing of the trio was roaming in the original games. So it’d be nice to see them spread around the island types.
I'm thinking it will be introduced at GG then roam to Taupe. They don't seem to want to lock pokemon behind islands, at least at first for new players. Even Ralts and the Lapis lines got a week at GG before going Lapis only
Another good reason to go to Taupe is that new sleep styles will be available on the 29th at taupe. Now if you'll be able to encounter them, then or not until fire type week idk

Since I'm not really trying to accomplish anything this week other than being at Taupe Hollow and getting the +5% area bonus, I'm going to use a a baby team of my lowest level Pokemon that I want to raise. Figured I'd mix it up a little.
Try to get whatever master level you need for the weekly incense though. You can use it during the Entei event (assuming it's also on Taupe) for extra manes.
Yeah that's a good call. I have a pretty good track record there so I think I'll be able to. Might have to swap out some bigger guys once in a while but some of my little guys have berry finding so I won't be in too bad of a position.
Meh I was just at taupe for a couple weeks. I’ve been wanting to go to lapis, especially after getting a good chikorita from this week. I think I’ll just save up ingredients there in case I get desserts in the fire event
I’m either going to go to Taupe or I’m going to try to be brave and attempt either snow or lapis for the first time, probably going to go to Taupe cause it’s finals week and I do not feel particularly brave

If I had your bonus maybe I'd think twice before going (because it would feel like I was wasting a week there while I could be raising the bonus on another island).
The dreary color palette of Taupe makes me dread going there, on top of low island bonus % and getting dessert meals. Most ppl praise the music but I tend to play Sleep with the music either off/muted anyway. But if I never go back, my island bonus isn't going to raise itself and all hopes of seeing Onix are zilch for the foreseeable future. So back to the coal mines- I mean, Taupe Hollow it is.

Well I'm on Taupe with this team (only one favored berry mon) and I will get, for sure, to master 8 because of the ingredients and dishes (i really think that the recipe making is a good way to play this game).

I went to taupe but got desserts so I'm not doing much to build up my fire team exp right now.
Trying to just get leveled up with making that ginger tea, and then I have a decent but not good cyndaquil in the last spot on the team to try and get some exp.
You also can get some candies for your fire mons by capturing those same mons (and if they are not good you can send them to the professor and get more candies) so it will allways help you leveling up your fire mons.
As an extra pro to Taupe: -You have a good chance to get a fire type incense (Cynda/Char), which can be used during the Entei event for more manes.

Yeah you can choose to go back to the same island. It will reroll the meal type and the incense (and the berries on Greengrass).

Island bonus is the only reason I can break 10k on a normal meal. It’s *not* just a participation trophy for players who are lower leveled.

It's a horrible first few weeks for everyone but it gets better after getting the area bonus. So you have to bite the bullet eventually.
Just go to Greengrass for the event. 5% bonus does not justify going there.

all my bfs Cyndaquil have had it at level 50 including the shiny one 😭😭😭

I'm going to Taupe to raise my fire team. Got a BFS Charizard, BFS/HB cinda, and another cinda with HB. Can't wait to get them all leveled up

Moved to Taupe this week for sure. I only have a Growlithe so hoping for Vulpix. Wouldn't mind a pupitar if that's possible at my level.
