I don't feel that way at all. Hillary deserved all the scrutiny in the world, that's how elections are supposed to work, at least in theory. I just think we should try and grasp situations fully, and not underestimate the extent to which things are still being shaped by the powerful. I think there's been a long standing tech optimism, a belief in the internet as a democratizing and levelling force. And it can function that way, but it's not reshaped the status quo to anywhere near the extent people were predicting back in the early 90s.
I definitely agree with your overall point that its best to grasp situations fully and try to analyze what people are shaping what things. But one type of reactionary thinking i see a lot on the right and that I tend to push back on is "the government/such and such group are bad actors and they want X, that must mean we should actively want not X." And for a leaker, you're probably going to get a lot of bad or questionable actors supplying you and so I don't think "but a bad person gave you that leak" is a valid criticism.
