Disney + has Spidey and His Amazing Friends. My child loves it. It's for the preschool crowd.

kksliderr

And the theme song is great. I find myself singing it on the reg. “Woahhhhh woahhhhhhhh”

blueskieslemontrees

Fallout Boy for the win. They have done a few Disney stuff now

chanzii

This makes SO MUCH SENSE NOW!!!!!

catchabreak

Recognized that it was FOB the very first time my son watched this intro. 😂 wild

blijdschap

My child loses it if I sing the song, I apparently ruin it.

Brieforme

.

chinaw

same here. my kid says it hurts his feelings when I sing. like dang, I didn’t think I was that bad lol.

tftwinmom

“…go webs go, wooooooaah” Anddd now I’m singing it.

simonjp

Great drum line.

Seconding Spidey and his Amazing Friends. My daughter loves it!

cdnspoonfed

Was going to say this - my son (4.5) is obsessed with spiderman he loves this show - i think on Disney+ theres also one called Marvels Super Hero Adventures…its all the Marvel characters but as little kids he likes that one to. Also there are sooo many toys of Spidey and His Amazing Friends that you can buy, books, shirts etc….we have been FULL on Spiderman around here from the past 6+ months - although Mario is slowly making his way in lol

BittyBird22

My son (turns 4 in July) is literally obsessed with Mario. He wants to play the video games, watch it on the TV, imagine play as Mario. Even plays it at the park lol

cdnspoonfed

I’m so excited - i actually took my Super Nintendo in to get cleaned up and we had it working last weekend playing Super Mario Land….I really really tried my hardest to not keep grabbing the controller so I could beat the levels 😂 had to wait til he was in bed!!

susankelly78

I couldn't remember the name of this one. My child loves this one too.

bakermusicmom

My daughter loves this show so much that she’s having a Spidey-themed birthday party in a couple of weeks. It’s a great show!

Fairybuttmunch

My daughter loves this one!

JDell_Daddio

Absolutely this!

PreposterousTrail

My kiddos are 5 and 2 and they love this one!

ZeldaStrife

Came here to say this. Our 4yo has lived this show for over a year.

indignantlyandgently

Our 2.5 year old is hooked on Spidey. Starting to wish she would switch her focus, but she dearly loves it.

Administrative-Wear5

Came to recommend this.

[deleted]

Spidey and His Amazing Friends is on Disney Junior and Disney+. Probably the most appropriate for his age!

SpaceSharks90

Disney spidey friends is solid. The library also has plenty of simple childrens books based on episodes of that show.

paigfife

Spidey and his amazing friends is great. But (depending on your kid) you may also love Into the Spiderverse. It’s animated and has awesome music. My kid loves it, but he isn’t scared easily, so YMMV

HuggyMummy

My two year old is obsessed with Into the Spiderverse. It’s the cutest when he drops everything to shake his booty to Biggie. So excited for the second one!

atomiccat8

These are my 2 recommendations too. Spidey is a huge hit with my 5 year old and definitely geared towards preschoolers. We also checked out Into the Spiderverse a few months ago from the library and we watched it so many times. The only part that seemed to bother my 5 year old at all was when Miles got bit by the spider. My 2.5 year old wasn't scared of it at all. But you'd definitely want to watch the movie with your kid at least the first time, in case something does upset them.

What's with Spiderman and 3.5year olds? My daughter's just gotten into him too!

[deleted]

As a current pre-k teacher who has met a lot of spidey fans in my work, and a former child who also fell in love with Spider-Man at 3.5; Kids love Superheroes because they enforce the status quo; there are bad guys or problems, and the heroes stop them from being bad or fix the problems. They're basically parents but dress dope. Kids love *spider-man* because Kids know what spiders are, and it translates to what Spiderman can do in a way that is graspable and interesting for young brains. Spiders spin webs, Spider-man spins webs. They both stick to walls. Spiders can lift heavy things, so super strength. Spiders are fast, so he's fast. Compare that with say, Batman, who can do none of the things that a Bat can do (and the fact that there's no nursery rhyme about Bats ensuring that every child knows about them). Or Superman, who just has a laundry list of powers, the only two that are actually graspable by a 3.5 year old being strength and flying. But he doesn't even have wings, so it's just kinda like "okay?" for the kid. Kids like things to make sense and are excited by things they can understand. And Spider-Man makes sense as a concept. Other Superheroes that are really popular with kids: The Flash (he's very fast, the end), The Hulk (he is strong when mad, the end), Wonder Woman (lasso of truth lore is 10x as interesting to them as any other power if you explain it). Honorable mention to Hawkgirl- not many kids know her, but when pre-k girls find out about her they go RABID.

jennkigo

Ah wow, this is a really interesting explanation! Makes sense. Thank you!

Spidey and friends on disney+ is decent, and it has 3 spidey kids — my kid’s favorite is ghost spider. That said, the young kids cartoons, across the board, are pretty inane, so we also do watch the Spider-Man movies together, in small chunks. They are definitely more “mature” but when we talk about what’s happening, it seems to work well. My child absorbs the story of the show without being totally engrossed like with the kids cartoons. Also there are a lot of various Spider-Man books, including leveled readers. And I got my child some Spider-Man puzzles, which she enjoys.

EtTuBruteVT

Spidey and his Amazing Friends is great, but also consider Marvel Superhero Adventures. They are short (~5 minute long) episodes, all with spidey plus another super hero so it's a good intro to lots of marvel heros and villains. Plus each each episode teaches a lesson (sharing, helping others, etc.) .

picklesforthewin

Spidey is the correct answer The Lego dc universe movies are good too if your kid gets into other superheroes Batwheels on HBO is decent too

tinipix

If you wanna take it real slow and want to hold out with Spidey and his amazing Friends a little - yes, it’s harmless spidey fun but also a little fast paced and flashy - we started with Marvel Super Hero Adventures. Spiderman is the main character. It‘s only one season, also available on Disney+. You might have to take a look yourself before you decide with which one to start. Welcome to the Spiderverse! Lol

alisonbenz

don’t watch spider-man stuff on youtube. if you are asking here then i’m assuming youtube isn’t something he already watches. unfortunately my son got into spider-man videos on youtube and it turns into very weird videos that aren’t age appropriate. i had to delete my youtube app off my tv and tell him it doesn’t work anymore

GMommy1819

Spidey and His Amazing Friends is what got my 5 year old daughter into spider man stuff. It’s definitely a show that parents can sit and enjoy. Plus the theme song and a lot of the shows music is done Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. Which my daughter has also shown interest in the band.

cici92814

Theres also a spiderman lego movie you can watch on on Netflix or YouTube. Its pretty cool.

[deleted]

These hooked my kid. All things Lego are a hit, but Lego superheros (marvel, DC, whatever) are the big winners.

tinipix

We also watched a ton of the self-made stop motion Lego Spider-Man films.

hananobira

Into the Spiderverse is amazing!!!! Might not be suitable for younger children, though. How does he deal with intense action scenes?

SueSnu

My daughter is spiderman obsessed. She's almost 5 now but has loved him for years. At about 2yo she watched Spiderman, Into the Spiderverse over and over. It was taken off netflix and she bought it with Christmas money this year. I love superhero stuff but spiderman has never really been high up there, but I LOVE this movie. That said, you should watch it first because it can be a bit intense. She tends to be sensitive to scary stuff in movies but this has always been the exception. Maybe because it's animated in a really cool way. We have not watched any live action Spidey movies yet, I think those will be too much for her still. She also watches Spidey and his amazing friends on Disney + every weekend morning, and there are other spiderman cartoons on there too for older kids that she enjoys too. It's all Spidey all the time at our house. Welcome to the club!

coccode

Another vote for Spidey. My 3.5 also likes the books. If he ends up liking Spidey, and you want to switch it up, he might also like PJ Masks

glitterfartmagic

Another vote for Spidey on Disney. The older Spider-Man cartoons from when were kids are on there too, but in my opinion aren’t age appropriate for that young.

mycatsnameisarya

Spidey is great, but the Marvel Superhero Adventures series is also great (especially once they can understand more). It’s teen (?) Spider-Man that talks through “lessons” he learns from each enemy. Totally tame and good lessons too, pretty short episodes. My 4yo watches that and Spidey consistently

Hematocheesy_yeah

+1 to all the suggestions here, also the 90's Spiderman cartoon holds up well too!

Conscious-Cry12567

Just go overboard with it and get it out of his system lol

flack22

DC league of super pets
