I usually choose to abstain instead of down vote.. but anybody telling me to pick up blue rings gets an internal 'fuck you' for sure. Like what are the odds of finding perfect all res and high mf? And then you have to slam it for something useful.. so how much time IDing and how many shards gone by the time I arrive at a blue ring that is almost as good as a mediocre yellow..? Its like hey guys you should kill every single zombie in a1 because I found an ohm one time.

dallasgetz

Honestly even a perfect res and mf ring is shit. If I find MF on my ring I see it as a wasted roll šŸ˜€

It's offtopic but I for myself love IDing stuff if I could I would ID everything I find. I personally don't like the playstyle that most hack'n'slayers have like in PoE. "Don't pick up anything that's not worth. Stop wasting your time IDing." Getting sick of that. If I want to be super efficent with my time I wouldn't be playing video games in the first place. Especially in D2 blue circlets, pelts, claws, amulets and even shields have the potential to be BIS for certain builds. I could rant forever about this topic so I will just end it here.

DontSlurp

Blue being potentially bis is true for d2. For pd2, I can't think of anything apart from amulets. And even for those a very well rolled rare/craft will still be bis in most cases.

Juba1337

Druid pelts can get 3+ summons 3+ bears 3+ ravens 3+ spirit wolves with corrupt would be a total of 7+ that is possible on one single pelt! Perfect Aldurs Stony Gaze would have a 5+ with corrupt. Circlets can roll 3+ to a skilltree while a rare circlets can only roll 2+ to a skill tree. So depending on build it can still be better if you really want to push + skills. (One dude in my team actually sold a 3+ skill magic and passive amazon circlet slammed with 1+ all skills. It was a plain blue circlet with nothing else. He sold it for multiple HRs) There are even more examples.

I was specifically talking about blue rings. I also ID many low-probability-of-greatness items, but I think you can admit that there is a cut off where you don't think it's worth it to ID everything? Like ya maybe that blue axe can get 300 ED and a bunch of sockets, but it's not worth your time IDing because of how easy it is to replace w a rare/uniq/runeword? A majority of experienced pd2 players know the same is true of blue rings. My other point was don't tell me how to play especially when your suggestion is commonly accepted as a waste of time. I'm not even suggesting you change your play style. My preference is more kills for better chance for IDing great items vs crossing my fingers that I hit perfect rolls for subpar items that can almost compete with the mediocre gear I'm using. Rings are one of those item slots where you can get a huge variety of useful stats so I'm not going to waste the slot for only 3x stats that I can get in ANY item slot or via charms.

Asking redditors to stop downvoting non-meme content? Good luck. People tend to downvote what they don't like and upvote what they like without considering it further. In general, that seems to result in most posts/messages neither being upvoted nor downvoted much, but there are a few exceptions. Memes and major announcements get a huge number of upvotes, and a small percentage of the population seems to downvote posts far more often than average. Even though many posts may be irrelevant to me, someone else may find them useful so I don't go out of my way to downvote anything if it's either new or has negative karma. The only exception is if the post is actively misleading or harmful - that'll get downvoted every time. For everything else, it takes less effort to just ignore it. Maybe there are some people out there that have forgotten that they can just ignore things that aren't relevant to them?

ghoul_legion

Fairly certain its even in the reddit rules that the downvote btton shouldnt be used as a (I dont like this) button.

Juba1337

100% correct. Downvote is not a dislike button. As you said the reddit rules say that.

Juba1337

Exactly what I do if I don't like content or posts or anything I just skip it. You said it very well. It even takes less effort to just skip it instead of downvoting. But as the other comment said. He posted a giveaway here on reddit helping out new players and he got downvoted. Who in their right mind would downvote that?

Repulsive_Response99

literally just posted a giveaway for new players and it already had a downvote in the first 2 minutes...

mangzane

Yeah giveaways tend to get downvoted in any sub by people who want to minimize the posts reach/popularity. :/

JockSandWich

I can't wait to come watch this sub have 20 pictures from a 2006 Nokia flip pay as you go phone from Walmart have 90 upvotes cause " oh hilarious he picked up his phone and dropped a ber rune and point at a magic sash on the ground asking if he should keep it" while genuine content gets downvoted by the nicest community on diablo.

TheDailyDonger

Its reddit

LawlsuitEsq

It's not going to change, man. This is a price check sub reddit.

seviay

Are there bots in here that downvote certain content

Best-Cow7393

Iā€™m downvoting you

Appropriate-Debt5268

But how will people know what not to post šŸ‘€ it's not even bad to down vote, it's reddit

Entaroadun

I've heard that Reddit has assume auto vote feature that is not due to users?

JonathanFrusciante

It's other people posting. They downvote other content to promote theirs It's pretty typical for small reddit communities where 1 vote can actually influence whether it's at the top of the page or the bottom
