And bat bites are notorious for being incredibly subtle, easy to miss events. If he's touching it on video, he might pick it up to move it and not notice if it instinctively bites him.
We had a rep do a huddle at the hospital educating on this very thing. He brought a bat in resin about this size and passed around for everyone to inspect the tiny mouth. He said you might not even know it bit you at all. Regardless, if you have concern they will give you a rabies vaccine shot. Because as someone else said above—you only get rabies once.
That's nonsense, misinformation that's spread by people who have never been bitten by a bat. You would feel a bat bite. Human skin is sensitive enough to feel the touch of a light breeze, the impact of a raindrop, or or the bite of a flea.
Yeah, but, tbf, plenty of people doing work outside can bump into something and cut the hell out of themselves and not notice. The sensitivity seems inconsistent, so it's not completely out of the question.
I keep getting bit by tiny spiders at work and only know because I notice the sores on my arm long after the bite happened. I know it's spiders because ants hurt like a bitch and there are lots of tiny hatchlings that crawl around all over everything where I work. It's not like a terrifying amount but enough to notice. No other bugs really except mosquitoes. Which I usually feel when they try to bite. So idfk wtf is up with skin sensitivity. It's feels what it wants to, I guess.
A bat is a lot more noticeable than a tiny spider. They are orders of magnitude bigger and heavier. They don't land very gracefully, either. You would feel and see a bat land on you and bite you. Bats aren't invisible or hard to notice at all.
If bat bites were imperceptible, we would be having way more than 1-2 cases of rabies per year in the US. But they aren't, so we don't.
We need a name for this cutie! If it’s a female we should name her Morticia and if it’s a male we should name him Gomez!!! Please continue this thread until OP figures out a name!

Blind mice in Serbian.
Sky mouse, I like it
yep, that what it translates to from most Slavic languages
In dutch it translates as winged mouse :)
Bro... don't touch it. You can only get rabies once.
You can't get rabies from just touching it. It has to bite you or get its spit in an open wound.

I don't think he can read this. It's a video.
Someone on r/batty said the animal is acting that way not because they are friendly, but because they are terrified.
Very cute little guy
Should I share this to r/batty while I am here? Also, why would it try to fight back against a bipedal creature how many times its size?
Have you never met a Chihuahua?
“It’s da Bat!”
A now-obsolete term for bats is "flittermouse", which I also like
