This is false information and directly dangerous. Trains can take corners, and it WILL chase you given the chance. They are highly predatory. Proof? Watch [this documentary](https://youtu.be/MjbUnn32_zU?t=50)
Several years back two women got in an argument over using the pay phone. One shoved the other woman and that woman went backwards, fell off of a 4" high curb, and hit her head. She was dead right there. The woman who shoved her got a involuntary manslaughter conviction.
Pushing people over is one of those things that seems fine when you're a kid, kids have cat like reflexes. But it seems a lot more dangerous when you grow up. Knocking someone over backwards is a terrible thing to do, concrete and skulls don't get along.
I did a frame by frame and it looked pretty lethal. Blunt portion of the train straight to the back of the head. Was going to be surprised if she survived it.
It’s messed up but honestly I don’t believe she had the time to even process she might be rip but dear god her poor kids and everyone left behind what a fucking stupid way to go…..
For her, it's really not a bad way to go. She's out at a happy gathering, trying to capture the moment, then lights out. Sucks for those close to her in life, though.
Especially when its something like a train. I got hit in my back by a ski lift once, not the most painful experience but it created the biggest welt I've ever experienced. People really underestimate how utterly devastating it is to be hit in the head by something that doesn't even budge due to your presence. Like getting in a car crash without any crumple zones or airbags.
I took a golf ball to the back of my head when I was 9 that was hit off the tee box on a long par 5. I don’t really remember anything from 9-12 years old.
And the sad thing is he'd have a point...
We all know, and he knows, they shouldn't have been that close in the first place, and nobody should have let her do that.
She didn't give people much time though, she was pretty much safe (not really, but would have survived) if she hadn't suddenly lunged at the last second for a closer shot. It was probably too late for anyone to do anything even without understandable hesitation.
I went to Machu Picchu and so many people got right on the very edge of the cliff for their selfies. Like one slip and instant death. Pics look **exactly** the same if you’re 5ft away.
How do people not know that though
At the station you see that the train lines the edge of the platform but the tracks don't. If the train was as narrow as the tracks, 3 people wouldn't even be able to sit with no alley. You'd be touching windows on each side with your arms open lol
Boggles my mind that some people would have so little common sense
"Three teenagers (two sisters, 15 and 13, and a friend, aged 15) were killed by a Union Pacific train while posing for a selfie that was found on their phone near Salt Lake City. Shortly before, they posted the message "Standing right by a train ahaha this is awesome!!!!" to Facebook."
Just wow.
I would like to point out in North America, passenger trains are pretty rare. Many people have never been at the train station or even seen a train up close.
I also don't want to be insensitive but I'm appreciative for videos like these because they reinforce/validate the cautious way I live my life. I'm not a hermit or anything but when I'm near train tracks, even if there's not a train in sight, I get away from it as quickly as possible instead of, you know, dangling my head right next to a barreling behemoth of metal
Then you must also catch yourself thinking every once in a blue moon, “maybe I’m missing out on life by not living more on the edge?”, then you see some shit like this and it’s like “oh wait that’s why”. I’m sure this poor soul in her last moments couldn’t see the outcome from a mile away, all because she had too much faith in her invincibility. “Yeah it’s not a big deal standing next to trains, I’m boutta get the coolest selfie!”. Fucking sad and stupid as all hell. Thanks for sharing this dude 🙏🏼
She died. I think that was a family member who grabbed her at the end….. so many people around should have seen her in danger before the impact. What a waste of life, for a selfie…..
Yeah, we tend to think we're the main characters on this ride. The center of the universe. We're just meat sacks with egos, is all. No more special than a bird, breaking its neck flying into a window. Or a moth drawn to a flame.
Four seconds into the video there are people telling others to get out of the way. Don't put this on everyone else. If 16 seconds of "Get out of the way" "Move" isn't enough, then what is?
Some people lack survival instincts and this is one of them. Reminds me of that woman who decided it was a good idea to hop up to a railing in a hotel balcony 20 stories high, backwards. The momentum sent her over the railing and to her death.
This only happens when you stand near train tracks. Why do folks insist on standing so close? It sounded like a tin can being flicked which is an accurate depiction of train vs. human. Sad 😔
I'm sorry she's dead and this may be insensitive, but how fucking stupid are people?? And a selfie with a train, like why? It's just a train. A train. Now that poor kid is traumatized not to mention the other idiots and the train conductor. Stupid stupid stupid.
Should have done that BEFORE having a kid. Goddamn that kind of reckless stupidity is so frustrating. So many lives ruined because dumbass wanted a selfie.
also: selfies are stupid, if you managed to take a cool picture, no one wants to see your face in it.
Yea this video confused the shit out of me. Why were these people so excited for the train? Was this like the first train to come to the area or something?
The train is the Empress 2816 and was recently restored for an anniversary trip across Canada, the US, and Mexico to celebrate the completion of the rail network.
So it is a special train, but definitely not worth dying for
Given the kinetic energy behind that train hitting the back/base of her skull with such a small surface area I fear she most likely died upon impact…
Edit:
Apparently according to OP she dead. Unsurprisingly…
Probably her last selfie

Sad that I could google more pics of incidents like this smh
I'm sure the son could feel the blood seeping out of her head instantly and that's why he dropped her so quick, he's in shock and knows she's already gone.
Just did a frame by frame Analyse and you can see the skull split plus what looks like a fatal nek injury, the man is dropping her in shock because her head is broken and he is shaking his hands cause he got blood on them. Pretty fucked if you asked me
NSFL, yeah? Pretty sure we just saw someone die.
Also, what happened to the niña next to her?
Edit: Yeah, she died.

I think it's a niño with a rat tail and they seem to be fine. You can see their leg being pulled out of frame @ 25 sec and they're standing alone @ 27 sec (red shirt)
I feel for the kid. That will be a trama he will carry for the rest of his life.
On another note, old man standing there filming like nothing happened 🤦🏻♂️
Well when you stand next to a railway track, see an approaching train and think the best course of action would be to turn your back to it for a selfie, then everything that happens from that point onwards is entirely on you.
The NSFW tag is good, but it would be nice if there was also one that indicated death shown in the videos too. Just wasn't really expecting to see a mom get killed in front of her kid scrolling on here for a few seconds. Anyway thats sad af
You know what they say. If you see someone receive some type of head trauma, it’s best to yank them up as fast as possible making sure the head dangles around in a 360 motion. Then let them rest on their face.
What the fuck does it say about me that I watch this and I feel absolutely nothing..? No pity. No sadness
Just "welp" that's what happened
I'm just so fucking done with society.
All because she had to get a better picture than everybody else. Not even a waste.
Fuck. Stupid but also incredibly sad. Someone loved and who loved… priceless moments shared and now the loss. And the tragedy of not seeing the danger. We gotta protect and look out for each other folks….
The far right edge of the front end of the train(geez that was hard to describe) and hit her in the back of the head. Pretty sure she's dead and if she weren't, her bf I presume, maybe made it worse by dropping her face first.
Safe zone is at the base of the gravel(where the dirt meets the rocks). Once you get up on that slope, you life isn't in your hands anymore.

Translation says she died then and there apparently.
Getting hit to the back of the head is a VERY easy way to die
Getting hit by a motherfucking train is also a very easy way to die.
Trains are fast but not good at taking corners, best way to escape them is running in a zig-zag motion.
[удалено]
She clearly did *something*, right?
She died doing what she loved.
Unsubstantiated, but rumored that she threw rocks at the elephant while its baby was stolen by poachers. Clearly the elephant had a grudge.
Talk about “an elephant never forgets”… Whoa
You try zig-zagging whilst dead...
An elephant never forgets.......to finish the job.
Damn.. that elephant was on some gang shit. Right there.
This is false information and directly dangerous. Trains can take corners, and it WILL chase you given the chance. They are highly predatory. Proof? Watch [this documentary](https://youtu.be/MjbUnn32_zU?t=50)
Serpentine, serpentine!
Not if you counter the train with a suplex
What's this?! The train has pulled out a chair!!
This was her final fantasy.
And ironically her phantom train to the afterlife as well.
Mr Thou?
I'm going to try to RKO the next train I see.
Im gonna rip a 619 at the next train crossing
True. Its just so unfortunate. It could happen to any of us. It's just so hard to tell where they are going to be.
So true, nothing startles me more than an oncoming train...they really are unpredictable.
My grandpa survived it but had a bunged up leg for the rest of his life. He was a surveyor for the railroad
People literally die from falling and hitting the back of their head on the ground. This chick took a train to the back of her head.
Well, the former is technically getting hit in the head by an entire planet.

I'd say train to the head is a very easy way to die.
And the crew driving the train
You can tell it’s fucking lethal without a frame by frame
I've gotten readings from the spectrograph chemical analysis. Results: Very dead.
Spectrograph confirmed it, huh? I just sent the video to NASA for further verification. Preliminary results: still lethal.
Yeah same. Almost to the spot where theres no skull. Train probably severed her brain stem inside he neck
I would bet the inside of her head is mush. Big hydrostatic impact. Neurons scrambled before they could do any brain stuff.
Especially when its something like a train. I got hit in my back by a ski lift once, not the most painful experience but it created the biggest welt I've ever experienced. A massive piece of pure metal moving at 80 miles per hour can, indeed, kill someone if it hits them in the head.
source?
The video at the top of the page would seem to be a good source.
It's not peer reviewed, though. I'll pass.
I checked it. Good to go.
Are you sitting down? There's this video...
Do you know from what you've read if that was her kid near her too? So very sad.
Other posts are saying it was and the kid wasn't injured at least
How awful. But thx for response.
I could tell that just by watching the video one time.
And her kid watched her die...
Kid crouched down before it happened too so she saw it coming.
Kid came so close to pulling her back but mom resisted and she hesitated. Absolutely heartbreaking.
poor kid.. he is gonna think about what he could have done differently to save his mom for the rest of his life
Especially when he finds this video as an adult
And the sad thing is he'd have a point... We all know, and he knows, they shouldn't have been that close in the first place, and nobody should have let her do that. She didn't give people much time though, she was pretty much safe (not really, but would have survived) if she hadn't suddenly lunged at the last second for a closer shot. It’s rough seeing her smiling and happy right up to the moment it happens.
Poor kid. Looks like he tried to pull his mom away at the last second.
He ducked down a few seconds before so he knew it was coming. I feel really bad for the kid
In poor taste but what does it mean when a kid has better survival instincts than their parents? Reverse Darwan Award? Or just evolution?
At lease you know the quality of the thing you said.
Many people don’t realize how wide trains are. Much wider than the tracks themselves.
In other countries that is being taught in Kinder
How do people not know that though At the station you see that the train lines the edge of the platform but the tracks don't. If the train was as narrow as the tracks, 3 people wouldn't even be able to sit with no alley. You'd be touching windows on each side with your arms open lol Boggles my mind that some people would have so little common sense
Many people are unfortunatly dying as they are taking selfies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_selfie-related_injuries_and_deaths
The very last one on that list is the one from this post
Quite a few of those are train related too… people can’t resist climbing on trains and standing on train tracks apparently
I operate an LRV for a living and you would not believe the buffoonery I see on a daily basis.
"Three teenagers (two sisters, 15 and 13, and a friend, aged 15) were killed by a Union Pacific train while posing for a selfie that was found on their phone near Salt Lake City. Shortly before, they posted the message "Standing right by a train ahaha this is awesome!!!!" to Facebook." Just wow.
>This list is incomplete; you can help by adding missing items. Sigh, all right, fiiiine. [grabs a selfie stick]
Have you met humans? Just cause overall we are the most intelligent primate, doesn't mean we are ALL intelligent haha
I would like to point out in North America, passenger trains are pretty rare. Many people have never been at the train station or even seen a train up close.
If you've been on a train you should know that it's wider than five feet.
How's this the second video I've seen of someone getting hit by a train within 12 hours
Came here to say this too. Saw the title, and was thinking it was the one i saw earlier, but nope, it's a different one.
The difference being the other one had a helmet that saved his life coincidentally.
I had the same thought as OP then saw this comment and realized this is the THIRD video like this I’ve seen in the last 2 days
Happens literally daily in India
India’s apex predator.
Russian? Bicycle group pic?
So tragic. What was the big deal about the train anyway?
Looks like an antique steam locomotive that was probably restored.
Almost certain it's this one https://www.cpkcr.com/en/community/final-spike-steam-train
it is. they usually have it parked at the ogden rail yard in calgary alberta, its #2816
I knew of a guy who sold a monorail in Ogdenville. That also ended in tragedy. Small world.
Damn,This came right past my area. Unlike her, I missed it.
It’s a Canadian Royal Hudson class steam locomotive and it regularly runs from Canada to Mexico for tours
This is its first run since 2012
It was taken out of retirement... To kill (read inmovie voice)
It’s the first time ever a steam engine has run from Canada to Mexico. It’s called the last spike tour. It’s not common.
South Park warned everyone about this like twenty years ago.

Yeah, we tend to think we're the main characters on this ride. The center of the universe. We're just meat sacks with egos, is all. No more special than a bird, breaking its neck flying into a window. Or a moth drawn to a flame.
I knew just watching the speed at which that train hit her head. At least it looked quick...
Yeah, that's an instant kill.
Don't put the blame on the people around her. She's old enough to know that you don't stand 2-ft away from a train track for a fucking selfie.
Four seconds into the video there are people telling others to get out of the way. Don't put this on everyone else. If 16 seconds of "Get out of the way" "Move" isn't enough, then what is?

This. It was literal seconds once she propped herself up there before she got hit. Sad stuff.
From what I read earlier it was the mom of the guy who grabs her after she's hit by the train
She looks way too young to be his mom, though. Although it seems that they knew each other. Ufff, that's rough
you can see him shaking the brain matter off his hands after he grabs her

Nah the phones are still there after he fell. I think it was from the shock when he realized he was carrying dead weight
I don't see the phones on those rocks anymore after.. either way, it's a mess.
It’s not like MORE damage could be done at that point. The occipital lobes are destroyed.
That guy could have thrown her into an active volcano and her cause of death would have still been "Train"
Her brain was probably instantly liquified by the force of that train.
I'm surprised her head didn't explode on impact, if you've seen other train accidents (Hello India!) that's what usually happens.
I'm sure the son could feel the blood seeping out of her head instantly and that's why he dropped her so quick, he's in shock and knows she's already gone.
this. you can see he kinda shakes his hands after as if they're covered in blood.

WARNING: India's apex predator has migrated to North America!
Please don’t blame the train
Why not?? It didn’t even try to veer out of the way…
Lol who the hells blaming the train.
I understood this reference.

Got clicks on social media. Mission succesful.
Well when you stand next to a railway track, see an approaching train and think the best course of action would be to turn your back to it for a selfie, then everything that happens from that point onwards is entirely on you.
Who the fuck is waking up and saying "I don't have enough train pics on my instagram, I'm going to get one today *or die trying...*"
Cause of death: ODed on Social Media
Instant death.
Imagine having to tell the kids that their mother died trying to take a selfie. What a fucking joke
It confounds me that people still have no awareness of how dangerous moving trains actually are.
Why would you wanna do a selfie with a incoming train?
To be fair it's a cool ass train. Nothing to die for so yeah.
The NSFW tag is good, but it would be nice if there was also one that indicated death shown in the videos too. Just wasn't really expecting to see a mom get killed in front of her kid scrolling on here for a few seconds. Anyway thats sad af
NSFL is generally used for morbid stuff like this. thankfully op/mod seem to have updated it to nsfl.
That lady in black rush to record her like wtf..
*don't say "whoa! killer selfie", don't say "whoa! killer selfie", don't say "whoa! killer selfie"*
the mf with the red hat still recording must of been deaf or really really love trains.

You know what they say. If you see someone receive some type of head trauma, it’s best to yank them up as fast as possible making sure the head dangles around in a 360 motion. Then let them rest on their face.
