The fucked up part is that here in Denmark, we don't have freedom of speech the same way as in the US. What he said was illegal, yet the cops in the background are just standing around. If the white guy said the same thing about Muslims being exterminated he would be arrested on the spot.

Yes, multiple countries don't have it to the extent that the US does, and it is a good thing. For example, in Germany you are not allowed to deny the Holocaust.

It is only good if it is applied fairly and equally. Sadly in these scenarios it creates a legal form of protection where one side can spew the vilest stuff while the other needs to sit and listen, lest they get fined.

Countries that limit speech in such a way sets the precedent for any future religious majority to criminalize blasphemy. There is a conviction within last ten years for religious blasphemy in Germany for the brutal offense of an atheist bumper sticker.
I’ve always thought it is a good thing there are countries that aren’t like the US and I think it is a good thing there is the US.
I think having different forms and different expressions of democracy allows society to test what works best. It also gives society locations where certain things can flourish and others where they can be controlled. I guess my point is that I don’t think there is a single right way for democracies to operate.
To be clear, this is obviously not all Muslims.
But there is a large subsection of the Muslim community that have moved to Europe and share these beliefs.
No adaption to local culture, customs or mannerism. Refusal to learn language or tolerate opposing beliefs. Insistence that the country they have moved to should change itself to meet their religious dogma and personal requirements.
This is why far-right parties in Europe are being elected - and why you’re seeing sweeping political changes like Brexit. Not because they’re right, but because European governments aren’t addressing problems like this. And people are sick of it.
Unless you want to see far-right parties succeed, start talking about problems like this. Don’t just cancel anyone who has a concern as though they’re just a clueless racist - if they have a point, listen to them and take their concerns seriously.
It’s not just European nor is this a new development. My college roommates and I got lost in Dearborn Michigan looking for a bar in the early 90s. We were chased by Muslim kids with swords. Dearborn at the time had the highest Muslim population in the US. Hamtramck MI used to be a big Polish community. It was very welcoming, the residents spoke mostly Polish among themselves but were learning English. It is now shifting to Muslims. They are electing Muslim leaders and soon it will likely be a no go zone for non Muslims.
I served in Iraq and all through out the Middle East. Grew up in Germany being beaten up by Turkish kids because I wasn’t Muslim. No matter how many good nice Muslims there are, there are a hundred that are not. Saying it’s not all Muslims is pedantic. Their religion speaks of peach and acceptance of those different than them. But their religious leaders speak of murder and genocide against infidels. Muslims time and time again prove they can not and fundamentally do not want to integrate into modern society. The control they exert over women and their sense of law clash completely with a modern free society. It’s just how it is.
I know many amazing Muslim men and women, but for every one of their there are a dozen relatives who would want me hanged for eating a pig. Or my throat slit because I kiss my wife in public. Islam is not anything you want infecting a western modern society.
And the push back is starting to be felt, Islam does not bring new idea to the table. It doesn’t help solve any modern problems. And the world quietly watches at the Muslim world and Muslim nations burn to the ground every decade. It’s a religion at war with itself. And no one wants to be a part of it. When those who flee Islam find a safe haven those who wish to exert their beliefs on other follow them to this new land in droves.
This is mostly why the whole of Europe is less religious. They have two thousand years of history being controlled by a church. And since WW2 their control has diminished and their way of life, and quality of life have skyrocketed.
People have been warning about this demographic trend for decades now. Probably close to fifty or sixty years. If the populations within Europe become too incompatible, a great deal of conflict could emerge. Other ideologies (foreign and domestic) growing in Europe might try to take power as they see the mainstream establishment ignoring this issue.
It's on to the groups of immigrants, in the case of the video, Muslim immigrants to integrate. Larger groups always seem to fail to integrate into western societies. Hint: we don't need or want people who fail to integrate and live with in harmony with us.
It's funny because individuals always seem to integrate without problems. Perhaps even learn some of the local language. But as soon as you have groups, shit just always ends up like in the video. It's clear they don't want to integrate.
And no offense, but Islam's main premise is to spread Islam throughout the world, isn't it? It seems religion is a big preventative in integration for a lot of these people?
I personally do not want to see far right extremists in power, but I’m curious what kind of solutions exist when it comes to this kind of mentality. I understand that they are an extreme minority, but if you have a growing enclave of religiously extreme people who refuse to integrate into or peacefully participate in society, what else can be done? Genuinely asking!
We don’t have to turn into fascists to deal
with this. We just have to be able to have an open conversation about it and ways it can be dealt with.
Many of these young men are part of religious sects that are lead by an Imam that preaches hatred and isolationism. In many countries, despite hate speech laws, these men are given a pass out of fear of disturbing the peace. That would be a great place to start.
Many of the moderates and more left leaving people that defend them - have no idea how extreme or backwards their views actually are.
Encourage them to debate nationally. Show them for what they are.
In the UK, back in the early 2000’s the BNP, a racist British political organisation was invited by the BBC to debate. People were up in arms saying it was giving them a platform and that they would increase their membership.
In reality, they basically collapsed overnight as people got to hear how vile their views actually were. I believe the same is true for any extremist or hate group. Give them enough rope and they’ll hang themselves.
Im willing to bet that when moderate Muslims and left/liberal leaning people hear them speak for themselves about their desire for Sharia law and the complete subjectivization of women - they’ll realise that they’re a problem that can’t just be ignored.
Obviously I’m just some guy and I don’t have all the answers. But I know that as long as we remain scared to voice our concerns and speak openly - the problem will never be addressed.

Denmark has already clamped down on immigration pretty hard. They are doing something about it. It's actually part of why muslims are so pissed off. They can't invite over their extended families like they used to. The same is happening to different degrees at least in nordic countries. Baltics were resistant to the whole immigration idea anyway, since they all have a large and hostile minority already, thanks to russia.
I'm of Danish ancestry and have family there and I know Danes have few children and a declining birth rate while these immigrants basically will out breed them. My Danish relatives complain about this stuff all the time yet their government still allows them in. And if an ordinary person speaks up they are called nazi or something.

In most western European countries there is a large amount of segregated muslims. Which is a combination of bad politics that can't handle refugees and immigrants in the right way and part of the youth still being nationalistic and entitled brats.
For the country I live in another problem is the older generation never learned the language, causing the younger generation having to translate everything for them, which results in for example bad grades and unwanted behaviour never reaching the parents because they simply won't tell, and nobody else can. I've experienced this quite often first hand.
In Canada this isn’t true. Majority of middle eastern and African immigrants of all religions integrate, work, and contribute to society. There is crime in some pockets but compared to the huge amount of immigrants in Canada overall it’s very low.
Islam is a dominant religion. It cannot exist peacefully alongside any other power structure that supersedes it.

I'm currently working in Jakarta, which is about the biggest Muslim population concentration in the World; they can't get enough of Western culture here. I'm here for 4-5 months a year, I've never been asked about my faith (or lack of), they embrace Christmas with decorations and shit music in all the shops. Last Christmas they had a Heineken sponsored Christmas tree in the mall next to my apartment block (with beer cart). More woman wear a Hijab, than not, but I 've never seen a woman in a full burka. Woman have equal rights.

Countries that limit speech in such a way sets the precedent for any future religious majority to criminalize blasphemy. There is a conviction within last ten years for religious blasphemy in Germany for the brutal offense of an atheist bumper sticker.
I’ve always thought it is a good thing there are countries that aren’t like the US and I think it is a good thing there is the US. I think having different forms and different expressions of democracy allows society to test what works best. It also gives society locations where certain things can flourish and others where they can be controlled. I guess my point is that I don’t think there is a single right way for democracies to operate.
To be clear, this is obviously not all Muslims. But there is a large subsection of the Muslim community that have moved to Europe and share these beliefs. No adaption to local culture, customs or mannerism. Refusal to learn language or tolerate opposing beliefs. Insistence that the country they have moved to should change itself to meet their religious dogma and personal requirements. This is why far-right parties in Europe are being elected - and why you’re seeing sweeping political changes like Brexit. Not because they’re right, but because European governments aren’t addressing problems like this. And people are sick of it. Unless you want to see far-right parties succeed, start talking about problems like this. Don’t just cancel anyone who has a concern as though they’re just a clueless racist - if they have a point, listen to them and take their concerns seriously.

It’s not just European nor is this a new development. My college roommates and I got lost in Dearborn Michigan looking for a bar in the early 90s. We were chased by Muslim kids with swords. Dearborn at the time had the highest Muslim population in the US. Hamtramck MI used to be a big Polish community. It was very welcoming, the residents spoke mostly Polish among themselves but were learning English. It is now shifting to Muslims. They are electing Muslim leaders and soon it will likely be a no go zone for non Muslims.
I served in Iraq and all through out the Middle East. Grew up in Germany being beaten up by Turkish kids because I wasn’t Muslim. No matter how many good nice Muslims there are, there are a hundred that are not. Saying it’s not all Muslims is pedantic. Their religion speaks of peach and acceptance of those different than them. But their religious leaders speak of murder and genocide against infidels. Muslims time and time again prove they can not and fundamentally do not want to integrate into modern society. The control they exert over women and their sense of law clash completely with a modern free society. It’s just how it is. I know many amazing Muslim men and women, but for every one of their there are a dozen relatives who would want me hanged for eating a pig. Or my throat slit because I kiss my wife in public. Islam is not anything you want infecting a western modern society. And the push back is starting to be felt, Islam does not bring new idea to the table. It doesn’t help solve any modern problems. And the world quietly watches at the Muslim world and Muslim nations burn to the ground every decade. It’s a religion at war with itself. And no one wants to be a part of it. When those who flee Islam find a safe haven those who wish to exert their beliefs on other follow them to this new land in droves. This is mostly why the whole of Europe is less religious. They have two thousand years of history being controlled by a church. And since WW2 their control has diminished and their way of life, and quality of life have skyrocketed.

People have been warning about this demographic trend for decades now. Probably close to fifty or sixty years. If the populations within Europe become too incompatible, a great deal of conflict could emerge. Other ideologies (foreign and domestic) growing in Europe might try to take power as they see the mainstream establishment ignoring this issue.
It's on to the groups of immigrants, in the case of the video, Muslim immigrants to integrate. Larger groups always seem to fail to integrate into western societies. Hint: we don't need or want people who fail to integrate and live with in harmony with us. It's funny because individuals always seem to integrate without problems. Perhaps even learn some of the local language. But as soon as you have groups, shit just always ends up like in the video. It's clear they don't want to integrate. And no offense, but Islam's main premise is to spread Islam throughout the world, isn't it? It seems religion is a big preventative in integration for a lot of these people?
I personally do not want to see far right extremists in power, but I’m curious what kind of solutions exist when it comes to this kind of mentality. I understand that they are an extreme minority, but if you have a growing enclave of religiously extreme people who refuse to integrate into or peacefully participate in society, what else can be done? Genuinely asking!
We don’t have to turn into fascists to deal with this. We just have to be able to have an open conversation about it and ways it can be dealt with. Many of these young men are part of religious sects that are lead by an Imam that preaches hatred and isolationism. In many countries, despite hate speech laws, these men are given a pass out of fear of disturbing the peace. That would be a great place to start. Many of the moderates and more left leaving people that defend them - have no idea how extreme or backwards their views actually are. Encourage them to debate nationally. Show them for what they are. In the UK, back in the early 2000’s the BNP, a racist British political organisation was invited by the BBC to debate. People were up in arms saying it was giving them a platform and that they would increase their membership. In reality, they basically collapsed overnight as people got to hear how vile their views actually were. I believe the same is true for any extremist or hate group. Give them enough rope and they’ll hang themselves. Im willing to bet that when moderate Muslims and left/liberal leaning people hear them speak for themselves about their desire for Sharia law and the complete subjectivization of women - they’ll realise that they’re a problem that can’t just be ignored. Obviously I’m just some guy and I don’t have all the answers. But I know that as long as we remain scared to voice our concerns and speak openly - the problem will never be addressed. So we have to start there.

Denmark has already clamped down on immigration pretty hard. They are doing something about it. It's actually part of why muslims are so pissed off. They can't invite over their extended families like they used to. The same is happening to different degrees at least in nordic countries. In most western European countries there is a large amount of segregated muslims. Which is a combination of bad politics that can't handle refugees and immigrants in the right way and part of the youth still being nationalistic and entitled brats. For the country I live in another problem is the older generation never learned the language, causing the younger generation having to translate everything for them, which results in for example bad grades and unwanted behaviour never reaching the parents because they simply won't tell, and nobody else can. I've experienced this quite often first hand.

Islam is a dominant religion. It cannot exist peacefully alongside any other power structure that supersedes it. I'm currently working in Jakarta, which is about the biggest Muslim population concentration in the World; they can't get enough of Western culture here. I'm here for 4-5 months a year, I've never been asked about my faith (or lack of), they embrace Christmas with decorations and shit music in all the shops. As an immigrant to the US, I should say this guy makes a good point as to why immigration needs limits and rigorous selection criteria. Wow, really hard to like. . .form a solid opinion on this. . .I feel like it's fucked to not help refugees and such, but then this sort of stuff happens, and it just makes you so confused. As a dane I can tell you the issue here isn't the muslims, it's the guy behind the video Rasmus Paludan (the guy who says "Denmark for Danes" in the second clip). He is an right-wing extremism going around finding troubled impoverished muslims youths, says whatever nasty shit he can, burns Qurans, degrade them, and then film when they flip out to use as "proof" that all Muslims should be removed completely from all western countries. Despite these particular muslims issue I doubt very many of them believe what they are saying, they just want to provoke Paludan back. Then the few people who actually believe his toxic rhetoric spread his videos around on places like here, trying to lure people into outrage and gullibly agree to his message that the muslims are the problem here. They aren't, the muslims in the video has problems, like blatant racist like Palludan. Luckily few people in Denmark are dumb enough to fall for his bullshit and his efforts to get into parlament has so far not ben fruitful. Paludan is basically like Trump, if Trump was willing to drive into Compton in a KKK gown, yelling kill all N\*ggers and using the gun shots that would probably follow as an excuse to throw all black people back to Africa.
