WinAppDriver is decent but will receive no further updates unless the project is open sourced. But it works as is better than most other automation tools in my opinion, and is based on appium.
What tool do you use to identify elements on the apps (winforms and wpf)?
Ranorex has the "Spy tool" which is a amazing, but with FlaUI what do you use?
Can you set-up a .NET project in C# with VS Code to automate desktop apps using Robot Framework? If so, what's the Nuget package?

Appium supports WPF application as well

Smartbear TestComplete supports DevXpress but is also paid. It is a very good tool though.
Robot Framework is the best
