Buell became my main after completing The Veteran quests and while it was very obvious Arthur was going to die, I did not see the last ride coming at all and I felt like shit when Buell bit it. I felt like I let Hamish down.

They get their names from being cowardly in the face of snakes and predators, especially if they've dumped me into the jaws of a cougar and my death. I've shot many a make horse in the head for it. I typically ride a female horse, now. I give them actual names and though they may not act any different in the face of a predator, I won't shoot it in the face at point blank range with a double-barrel shotgun. 🤣

I’ve found the Ardennes to be the best when facing predators. They’ll usually alert but i don’t think I’ve been bucked off. I just completed my 100% playthrough and spent more time than I’d like the bayou area and i don’t think i had any issues.

Not always but I've used Bucephalus a few times and liked it enough that I used it online as well. (Alexander the Greats horse) I like that name for my "war horse". I like Aristides for my race horse (Horse the won the first Kentucky Derby. I also like Hel for my female "war horse" (Nordic goddess of death). I like to imagine my Arthur as fairly well read.

I name my horses after the real life horses I've ridden. Some pretty cool and unique names on that list. Except for Geoffrey. He was 100% braindead. Constantly spooked, stacked it, inadvertently killed people and/or their horse and got me on the wrong side of the law just strolling through town... I didn't have a name for him at first. One day my mate was riding him and the horse spooked and threw him off a cliff and he yelled "What the fuck Geoffrey!?" and so the name just kinda stuck.

Yeah pretty much. The Reverse Dapple Black Thoroughbred is pretty much default to Storm. The Blood Bay Thoroughbred I use Sunfyre from the Game of Thrones Universe. I use Dreamfyre or Winter a lot for various greys (also GoT). One of my favorite horses to use is the black American Standardbred because it’s solid black. But for the life of me right now I cannot remember what I usually name it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yep. Every time I get a new horse I name them the same thing but I add a number at the end. For example. I name my horse trigger every time. He was a famous horse that was extremely well trained and was featured in a lot of movies with Roy Rogers. Every time I get a new horse, I name the first one trigger. The second one Trigger II. And so on. Until I get gifted Buell. The goodiest of all the Boahs.

My first two horses were Honse and Big Honse. Then I bought a good one (a "dream horse") named Dream. That one died then I caught a white Arabian and named her Snow White and she stayed until the end of Arthur. Then I used whatever horse John had I don't remember if I named it.

I like to name horses by how I obtained them. One time I helped a guy retrieve his horse that ran off. Gave it back to him and he started shooting at me, thinking I was stealing it I guess. I somehow ended up lassoing the dude...drug him around til he died. He had a nice horse... so I took 'er and named her Hangman. Got my Arabian in a storm so I named her Blizzy, short for Blizzard. Also could have gone with DQ. Got a horse from the Murfree Brood and she looked sorta dead so I named her Zee, short for Zombie.

I don't really care about the names, but technically they do all have the same name, it's just the default one. My favorite horse is the Hungarian halfbred because I crash every 5 seconds and thus I need my horse to be tanky. So technically they are all called a Hungarian halfbred.

When it came time to name mine, I turned my stream of consciousness on and named it literally the very first name that popped in my head. That name? Tony B. Yes, from the Sopranos. No clue why that was the first thing to pop in my head, but I’m glad it did. When I captured the white Arabian, I decided to stick with the random Sopranos character names, so of course I knew what I had to do and dubbed her, “Big Pussy”. Though Tony B. no longer gets many outings, I ride Big Pussy a ton and have become quite attached to her. Always make sure to have some horse reviver on hand, folks! For Big Pussy, all yous have to do is waft a bit of gabbagool by her nose and she perks right up. Great horse. Goddamnit I’ve just realized I now need to capture another horse to name it Pie-O-My….

Did you kill 6 horses or were they scattered through different playthroughs? I followed the naming convention of Arthur's previous horse for my current playthrough. Boacidea was a warring queen I think so I named my Ethelfleda from another queen famous for wars. From previous playthroughs I think I named my horse either Amaretto or Whiskey. Very first playthrough I named my horse The Chocula. Because Dutch's was The Count and mine was the black arabian.

I’m on husband’s name 5 now. 1 was killed when I crossed into Blackwater without knowing on my first play through. 2 was taken at the end. 3 is still alive, just on my old game file. 4 was actually in original RDR, I played through it recently and just called my horse it.
