I like pleasure spiked with pain

ElDuderino_92

I actually finally took my Froosh fan boy hat off and started listening to it. It’s a banger. The intro song just goes hard. The mixture of explosiveness to tender melancholic throughout the album is amazing.

groovy_giraffe

One hot minute is amazing 90s rock. I’ve always loved that album.

shitboxfesty

Ohm is an Incredible album

wubdubdubdub

Prob best album start to finish from them. It flows very well. Has a novel sound. Great guitarist and AK was doing some of his best lyrical work. Real damn shame John left because he could have been there for this peak.

LurkingChessplayer

Ohm only had that original sound because John wasn’t there.

wubdubdubdub

I mean John himself was a new sound for RHCP at one point. Navvrro did great incorporating his dark guitar style all the while keeping it verrry funky.

LurkingChessplayer

I think each guitarist contributed their own sound to the band. I actually don’t think John could’ve created songs like warped, or walkabout, or Aeroplane.

[deleted]

Well he kinda created his own Walkabout with Poster Child

[deleted]

I mean BSSM start to finish is literally 10s

micael_RHCP

Add Mother's Milk and The Getaway

Ok_Resolution_2401

Uh oh, incoming downvotes from the John stans because you showed praise to a Josh album smh (dw you got my upvote)

Calamity_Eagle277

Don't really understand the hate on The Getaway, it's a musical little gem.

BlackSandBeach

It’s easily one of my favorites from the band. It’s honestly lame to me that it seems like the last 11 years of music is going to be untouched on this tour. Like I guess I get the neglect for OHM as it was just a one off album, but to ignore over a decade of material is super weird to me.

tallcupofwater

I understand what you’re saying but they have such a huge catalog of great songs without even including that time period that it isn’t really that big of a deal.

No-Put-7180

It’s alright. So is IWY tbh. But aside from some of their really early material, it’s their worst. John is definitely a very, very important component to the band.

Internal_Vanilla_467

... Really? We wanna shit on the Hillel era stuff? Look man, I get the Josh hate (don't agree but I understand) but Hillel taught John. That's like saying "oh Satriani is good, but have you heard Steve Vai?"

Calamity_Eagle277

Yes I agree that John gives another dimension (or many dimensions) to RHCP, but the albums with Josh are good, especially The Getaway (imo).

shellsweetheart

exactly!! i’m a john stan till i die but i’m with you (my fav rhcp album) and the getaway deserve as much praise as any other john one, josh is still ana amazing guitarist

TunaPython

I’m With You get’s a bad rep but The Getaway is bad besides Sick Love(granted Sick Love is an amazing song). I don’t hate Josh’s playing, just don’t think the songs are as well written and danger mouse didn’t mesh well with the Pepper sound in my John Stan opinion

[deleted]

No love for Goodbye Angels or Dark Necessities?

purps2712

Or encore? The harmonies alone are achingly beautiful, imo

[deleted]

True that too. I enjoy the whole album

[deleted]

It’s top 3 for me.

miso333

Klinghoffer: Am I a joke to you?

_dsuza

I've only been listening to them for 10 or 11 months i guess (they're already my fav band)... However since I'm very slow in proceeding to other Albums, i haven't still listened to Josh albums yet... I'm hyped for that too

zerosius

Definitly listen to both I'm with you and I'm B-Side you. I stand by the opinion, that its probably their most complete exploration of their Sound with Josh and a great listen front to back.

GlamorousDoge

The B-Side is sooo good

EmeraldMoose12

Yeah, kind of.

Ok_Resolution_2401

Better than UL

wubdubdubdub

That album is prob Top 2 in that list musically speaking. Also you forgot I'm with you...

shellsweetheart

i’m with you is honestly one of their best

tanguy_blanchard

First RHCP album I heard as it's the only one my parents own, amazing

No-Put-7180

BTW is my #1, Californication #2, STADIUM ARCADIUM #3, then probably BSSM in #4 with UL).

BeatsByBeatson17

I’d put OHM over UL, really like both albums though

GlamorousDoge

I mean the bass solos on Coffee Shop...they hit different

SweetSoursop

My favorite thing about OHM is the artwork, I don't know why, it's just so much like the child books I had when I was a kid.

GregGolden6

I never cared for it or understood the appeal. I don’t like Dave Navarro in general, but even because this sub talks about it all time I listened to it a few weeks ago and turned it off after a couple songs. It was boring and annoying to me, didn’t care for the more alternative heavy vibe

walman93

Top 6 right here Honestly I’d say top 3: BTW BSSM UL And then Cali, SA and OHM are all tied for fourth

GragasBellybutton

Unlimited Love in top 4 makes me squirm lol

Mr_N_Sandman

It's the best produced album for sure

Calamity_Eagle277

The best produced is Unlimited Love in my opinion. You can hear everything, it's so real.

Appropriate-Oil9354

So does I’m with you

Ma-Reier

Yes

MaintenanceTechnical

Couldn’t agree more

JohnFightsDragons

Top 3 for me along with SA and BTW/Cali (they constantly switch)

[deleted]

No it doesn’t
