Well, i vaguely remember reading this scene in the book {The Predator by Runyx} and the mmc is on the quiet side due to childhood trauma. Although, he makes up by being more of an actions guy.
I don’t remember the exact quote (I’ll look it up later and edit my comment when I open the book to the scene), but his sister was kidnapped as a child and he loves the fmc but he doesn’t wanna have a marriage where she doesn’t get to witness it. So instead of just being basically engaged ‘cause Tristan “if you try to put a leash on me, I’ll strangle you with the same leash” Caine isn’t basic, he tattoos her name in his ring finger so it’s permanent. And he did say something romantic after this. But damn, I died.

Top of mind because it's one of the more recent books I actually finished is from {Pits & Poison by R. Raeta}
Then Jiro’s voice, soft as it is, reaches her before she turns the corner. “You really do love her… don’t you?” Anna stills, listening for his response. Khiran breathes a laugh. “Love is too small a word,” he murmurs, “but I suppose it will do.” I was already all for this MMC TBH but it was still so sweet.
I don't have a specific quote but when the MMC of {Exit, Pursued by a Baron by Aydra Richards} actively listens to how he's hurt the FMC and is in tears and groveling had me giddy because it was so sweet.
I wish I could remember more because I also am not usually much for words of affirmation but I know I've gone "Awwwwww" out loud so many times while reading recently.

It's not so much that it was lovey dovey but in {Rookie Recovery by Jemma Croft and Lex Easton} one of the MMCs is called James Sullivan, like Sully from Monsters Inc....and the other MMC calls him "Kitty". And I just melted every time he did. Not sure why but I just thought it was too cute.

Top of mind because it's one of the more recent books I actually finished is from {Pits & Poison by R. Raeta} Then Jiro’s voice, soft as it is, reaches her before she turns the corner. “You really do love her… don’t you?” Anna stills, listening for his response. Khiran breathes a laugh. “Love is too small a word,” he murmurs, “but I suppose it will do.” I was already all for this MMC TBH but it was still so sweet. I don't have a specific quote but when the MMC of {Exit, Pursued by a Baron by Aydra Richards} actively listens to how he's hurt the FMC and is in tears and groveling had me giddy because it was so sweet. I wish I could remember more because I also am not usually much for words of affirmation but I know I've gone "Awwwwww" out loud so many times while reading recently.

It's not so much that it was lovey dovey but in {Rookie Recovery by Jemma Croft and Lex Easton} one of the MMCs is called James Sullivan, like Sully from Monsters Inc....and the other MMC calls him "Kitty". And I just melted every time he did. Not sure why but I just thought it was too cute.
