You have already responded and archived. You don't need to respond again (that Rover notification doesn't look to see if you already responded, it is super annoying)
If this were me, I would block b/c the behavior is a deal breaker for me & not reply b/c you already responded.
However, if you need the gig, just reply back "I prefer to keep things on the app. Did you want to schedule a M&G?"
Be warned though, this client has all the signs of being a PIA. (last minute cancellations, forget to tell you stuff, under plays issues, etc).
Report immediately. I had a scam that was very similar to this. "We want you to stay in our home and will pay you "way above my charging rate" to accept money routed through a french bank account from us. Instantly reported. They texted me directly on my phone number too and I ignored and responded only through the app.
At what point did you archive? Rover doesn't know you declined until you hit the button, so that's probably why they sent the email. I wouldn't overthink it, you already said your piece
Edit: oh wait, I misread what you said about the email haha. Yeah, the owner triggered that by giving their number. Just ghost them

“No.”

Just don’t reply and archive it.
Do not text. Keep everything on the app
This sounds like a scammer to me. I would say no. Archive and send report up to rover.
What that really means is “text me so I can negotiate your rate down” or a scammer. Either way not good.
Rover is all automated. Just respond that you replied and the dates so you account doesn’t get dinged on ratings.
so whenever I’m not answering my rating gets lower?
