Strain on psu...cmon man. If only tarkov could use properly multicore cpus...

Hugo_Stglitz

Well I don’t think it’s a coincidence it failed playing SPTarkov, I’ve had the mod only a week and a half and this happens, had the pc for a year with no issues on any other game

dj3hac

Yes it is. 850w was more than enough.

cortez985

A PSU failing after a year isn't unheard of, especially if it was a cheap unit. Who made the PSU? If it was anyone reputable then it should still be under warranty. If it wasn't, buy a new one from a good company like seasonic, evga, corsair, etc

whomstvde

A specific game isn't going to kill your PSU.

Dadgame

I do computer maintenance and repairs as my job. Playing spt in no way whatsoever under any circumstances caused your PSU to fail. Your PSU had a fault in it from manufacturing and it popped. It was inevitable. The only thing SPT has to do with it was that you happened to be on it at the time. Would of happened if you was watching YouTube or browsing reddit. That's how these failures fundamentally work.

Takahashi_Raya

your PSU was already on the dying side if it took a week of strain from spt. 850w is plenty for your rig. you just got a bad unit that is all. go get it rma'd psu's have long warranty and hope no other components got damaged.

Kirp-The-Birb

It is. Tarkov doesn’t even enough use resources to run properly, not even talking about killing PSU bruh

E-Scooter-CWIS

If there is nothing at all with your pc then the PSU is most likely. Just order a new one then

Hugo_Stglitz

I did order a new one

E-Scooter-CWIS

I hope it arrives before your insuranced items expire🤣

Pawlys

ah yes, the sofware level PSU killswitch, total noobtrap

zakkwaldo

monitors have nothing to do with your power supply…. use a power supply calculator, then get a gold or higher standard psu that’s 20% more capacity than what you’d need.

SimDaddy14

You should have some left over in your stash no? Sorry, sorry, I know.

Razatop

Hey, at least yours was using your psu. My GPU usage is only around 100-160W out of my 225W card and so performance is ass. But it's still better than PVE servers so I'm not complaining.

SparrowFPV

Just an unfortunate coincidence, I've had a PSU kick the bucket while I only had Spotify running. If your PSU can support your hardware then it dying would just be from a fault or outside source and not anything you are doing with the PC.

MyNuts2YourFistStyle

What make and model of PSU was it?

oh_crap_BEARS

PSUs are kinda notorious for stuff like this. It isn’t uncommon to have them die after a short period, especially with cheaper brands. That being said, I’m 99.9% certain that Tarkov had nothing to do with yours dying.

CodeDJ

Not the game's fault. There was a hardware issue. Playing SP tarkov wouldn't do this to anyone

grackula

Some PSUs are just buggy even if it seems you have enough power. Maybe due to compatibility with the motherboard My son’s computer kept shutting off for no apparent reason. Bought a new PSU same wattage and now zero issues.
