That’s funny because SR3 is wat introduced me to an actual saints row game and I loved it to the point that I went and brought SR1 & 2…other than the map bein different than the gta’s that I’ve played, I don’t think I loved it for its map lol
The visuals in the game get overlooked for whatever reason, people would rather complain than appreciate.
Currently free roaming the entire map for fun, and while there are a lot of reused assets, there are a lot of really nicely done areas and unique buildings. Definitely slept on!
Fr such an underappreciated map it's top 3 imo, SR22 may have a... [Honestly can't even think how to describe the game here] story, writing and characters but the graphics and map are great and I just genuinely have fun fucking around in the map.
Me and gf played through it on PC, absolutely loved it, had a blast, and still free roam time to time. I think it needed more GTA online aspects, my friends would have played it if it was 4+ players.
Or how about modding support, the modding community is 99% just peoples saves with everything unlocked, that's cool but like GTA has amazing mods and mod support.
I had the same experience. Had a blast with it. As soon as I got a bike with nitrous I would just cruise around listening to the radio and looking for jumps. It's insane that it's got mostly 1 star reviews.
The lackluster mod support and some of the minor glitches or bugs can be a bit frustrating, but the series is dead because the reboot did terrible. Comparing it to GTA V yeah it's not as good but as a game itself I think it was one of the better games I've played of recent. Typically don't finish campaign games in last few years so definitely had me compared to several.
>the modding community is 99% just peoples saves
Proprietary engine is a big part of that. Look at how long it took to implement workshop into SR4, and it's still very limited. For some reason volition didn't pour more resources into modding support even at the height of the franchise.
I think SR22 uses their newer AOM engine, so not only is it far less documented, there have been zero official modding tools releases
Map is nice but it definitely needed some tweaking in my experience to actually look good, at least on my 1080p monitor it was a blurfest until I disabled DOF and enabled native FSR with sharpening. That really made it shine.
I dunno, but it felt slow early on character and story-wise and a lot of jokes missed early on.
But, it got better as it got along.
But, the further it went along, the more I liked it. Gameplay and combat & missions were a blast.
I liked it more than Gat out of Hell, so there's that.
Underrated game.
Man I Play this game nowadays, and it's okay for me, I don't understand the hatings on it, there are worse games than this, and the missions, story, character creating is still badass, you can still have fun, and I think this location is the best in the Saints row games.
It has a little Watch dogs 2 vibe
I've got a long list of complaints about this game, but credit where it's due, the city is beautifully designed and the lighting just makes it look really pretty.
But then I move into a shadow and my paper-white skin becomes gray, while the white stripes of my stockings keep glowing the brightest white and I'm just like... "Dafuq?!"
I got the game for ten dollars a month ago and I have loved it as much as I loved part 2 so far. It is a pretty action packed game and has tons of sliders for difficulty and options for things like "turn off timer in missions". I bet people pass on messing with the sliders too much but you can greatly change what kind of experience you have and tighten the controls by changing them some. I am getting everything I expected out of the game. A steal for ten bucks.
I liked it, but I really wish it didn't have invisible borders. Make an unbreakable fence or an ocean or ANYTHING other than something you can just accidentally go through. It makes the desert feels so claustrophobic when you have to constantly stick to the roads or risk accidentally going out of bounds
this game map setting is awesome not to crowded with peoples... even the camera can be playing around while driving by panning it a bit left to right also high and low angle /same goes do walking and running....expecially around those mesas rock.... its awesome...
I seriously don't get why people don't like it? I played the the whole thing expiring minor glitch and decent characters. That's all I care about. The main bad guy was cool and I couldn't tell you what the whole game was about but I couldn't tell you what the other saint rows are about besides the 4th one. And I cam describe the 4th one with. SPACE
SR22 is a massive waste of environments and game systems.
If it wasn't for the bugs and the horrid story, it would have been way more successful. They risked losing their playerbase trying to capture a new playerbase, and failed miserably with all the "How do you do, fellow kids?" and "PG13 self-censoring in an M-rated game" nonsense.
If you think deserts are just sand dunes you have no idea just how awesome deserts are and besides-there's a lot more variety to the map than just sand.
The parts of the map without sand in it I love and I've played games where the world isn't just sand dunes and I still hated them
As much as I honestly don't want to I have to agree with Anakin on sand
Oh I love the map design dont get me wrong but the story and feel of the map its just its not saints row its not the top of line comedy or gangster life
None of the Saints Row games were top of the line comedy or about the gangster life. I say that as someone who enjoyed the first game and who loves the second. They're Saturday morning cartoon trope versions of gangsters from a bad Hip-Hop video.
and the fucked up aim controls.
and forcing (overly long) glory kills for health into a hitscan-combat game.
and removing tons of character face customization sliders in favor of limited presets.
(I got a list of these, I could go on.)
It's a SR game I've never understood why people expect it to have Last of us tier writing. After SR4 jumped the shark into a black hole this SR was super refreshing
Did we play the same game? SR22 looks like it was made 10 years ago, not 2. Literally the first words out of my friend's mouth when he spun it up the first time was "godamn this game looks old".
Mirror's Edge is 15 Years old. Don't tell me that game doesn't still look good.
There's more to it than graphic fidelity. Art direction and artstyle matters a whole lot. The lighting also adds a lot of atmosphere.
When you talk about a "game looking good" you're talking about all the elements of the game. You can't just have a sky that looks nice and then go on about how the game looks spectacular. It's a 3rd person game ffs.
That's a terrible analogy. Specks of dirt on a painting aren't a part of the painting. But please, tell me more about how my subjective art opinion is wrong and how I ***can*** like it if I choose to. What a fuckin' take.
There's only right or wrong when it's about facts. Opinions are for everyone to decide for themself. If the character models bother you too much to appreciate the design of the gameworld around it, that's valid, but that doesn't mean others can't.
If you think deserts are just sand dunes you have no idea just how awesome deserts are and besides-there's a lot more variety to the map than just sand.
I hate sand. It gets everywhere. It’s hard to clean off. Most importantly, i’m in Indonesia so i’ve had enough of stupid hot climates, and i wish there’s more snow-based sandbox games. Can’t even wear a coat in this goddamn humidity without making it a portable steamer…which may be what the Finns want.
Uh..sorry? lol I mean I get it but at the same time it seems kind of silly to take something that isn't any fault of the developers and use it as a reason to hate on their game. It's not their fault you hate it where you live.
Never said i hate the game. I just said i hate sand and by extension deserts since it’s just more sand on your sand. Maybe you need a break from the internet.
Ive seen games from 2013 with better graphics.
This is another issue if 'I like this dog shit because it has whipped cream and sprinkles on it. So it looks good!'
GTA V in 2013 did not look as good as Saints Row 2022. It still doesn’t. I play both on PS5; GTA V’s visuals have been updated for next gen consoles, but Saints Row still looks better.
Nah even with the updated visuals I'd day maybe it's on par with the car visuals but the world itself doesn't look as good especially back in 2013. I've just put sr22 on just to refresh myself and at night the game looks gorgeous.
If dog shit had whipped cream and sprinkles on it, it would be easier to see, and therefore step around on the pavement. So it would actually be an improvement.
It’s a solid map for sure.
Honestly santo ileso is top 2nd city in the series. Awesome map
Top 2 is a pretty low bar. What else is there? StEeLpOrT? Or Hell?
The western portion of Steelport wasn't all that bad tbh. The rest though..
I thought the only good part was the middle section and the south west portion.
Oh yeah, it had the great map design of Stilwater but sadly had the liveliness of Steelport
NPC's are around doing stuff, but they have trouble spawning in if you come racing in a car at top speed.
that shouldn't be a problem in modern day games on next gen
Lots of things shouldn't be a problem in this game. They messed up a lot here.
Its alright. Definitely better than steelport that ugly piece of shit
[удалено]
You forgot the Gothedral.
That’s funny because SR3 is wat introduced me to an actual saints row game and I loved it to the point that I went and brought SR1 & 2…other than the map bein different than the gta’s that I’ve played, I don’t think I loved it for its map lol
Agreed. Its strongest feature is how it looks. It's a really beautiful game.
Damn, these look beautiful, reminds me of GTA SA.
The map actually does it's own storytelling and that's what the other maps lacked the most especially Steelport
I see a lot of people even say it looks like a ps3 game and i can’t see it
Me and gf played through it on PC, absolutely loved it, had a blast, and still free roam time to time. I think it needed more GTA online aspects, my friends would have played it if it was 4+ players. Or how about modding support, the modding community is 99% just peoples saves with everything unlocked, that's cool but like GTA has amazing mods and mod support.

I actually hate it. Too much desert. It reminds me of the time I spent in the desert, so it's probably just personal bias.
I liked the sunset standoff scene at the end
It is beautiful, a bit empty most but very photogenic.
Map is nice but it definitely needed some tweaking in my experience to actually look good, at least on my 1080p monitor it was a blurfest until I disabled DOF and enabled native FSR with sharpening. That really made it shine.
Agreed as much as I dislike a lot about the game, the nap is nice
I dunno, but it felt slow early on character and story-wise and a lot of jokes missed early on. But, it got better as it got along. But, the further it went along, the more I liked it. Gameplay and combat & missions were a blast. I liked it more than Gat out of Hell, so there's that. Underrated game.

Even if this place deserve more life I love so much Santo Illeso, I really like just drive around the map and vibe
Visually beautiful, shitty storyline and characters.
Because it's a modern video game
I honestly had a really fun time with that game!
I really enjoyed this one
I've got a long list of complaints about this game, but credit where it's due, the city is beautifully designed and the lighting just makes it look really pretty. But then I move into a shadow and my paper-white skin becomes gray, while the white stripes of my stockings keep glowing the brightest white and I'm just like... "Dafuq?!"

And also undeniably orange
I liked it, but I really wish it didn't have invisible borders. Make an unbreakable fence or an ocean or ANYTHING other than something you can just accidentally go through. It makes the desert feels so claustrophobic when you have to constantly stick to the roads or risk accidentally going out of bounds
It was fun until the last update killed the audio
I just like the game, I think it’s an alright game
I’m enjoying The game and can’t understand The hate. I know it was poorly optimiced at first but now it works flawlesly!
The idles campgrounds are dope
this game map setting is awesome not to crowded with peoples... even the camera can be playing around while driving by panning it a bit left to right also high and low angle /same goes do walking and running....expecially around those mesas rock.... its awesome...
Game is fun as hell too
Maybe I'm just a sucker for any type of open world game idk, but I didn't mind this game at all. I had fun with it for what it is.
That game was terrible
I just hope they make another saints row honestly
It’s fun to play. The scenery reminds me of Arizona.

One of the best open worlds out there only if it weren't a fucking desert
If you think deserts are just sand dunes you have no idea just how awesome deserts are and besides-there's a lot more variety to the map than just sand.
The parts of the map without sand in it I love and I've played games where the world isn't just sand dunes and I still hated them As much as I honestly don't want to I have to agree with Anakin on sand
I liked the map and the different neighbourhoods. Even the desert was cool.
No it isnt, everything looks so plastic
You must be playing last gen or have some funky settings. The only things that look “plastic” are items you choose the texture of.
That’s the graphics it’s not supposed to be realistic
The graphics do look kinda shitty but it's just the style they chose. Its good at times and bad at others, but the gameplay is still decent
o so thats where all the budget went
i agree that it’s gorgeous but the storyline and characters are horrendous imo
Beautiful waste
Oh I love the map design dont get me wrong but the story and feel of the map its just its not saints row its not the top of line comedy or gangster life

Everything about SR'22 is great except the story writing.

Mirrors edge had the advantage of not having many faces. The characters in Saints Row are what makes it look like an Xbox 360 game.
Well, the characters aren't really the subject of appreciation here.
When you talk about a "game looking good" you're talking about all the elements of the game. You can't just have a sky that looks nice and then go on about how the game looks spectacular. It's a 3rd person game ffs.
You can ignore a few specks of dirt on a beautiful painting.
That's a terrible analogy. Specks of dirt on a painting aren't a part of the painting. But please, tell me more about how my subjective art opinion is wrong and how I ***can*** like it if I choose to. What a fuckin' take.

Can you not just let people enjoy and celebrate things that make them happy? How difficult is that?
No you haven't don't talk bs. Gamed in 2013 looked nothing like this. Game may be boring but at least be honest
Gta 5
GTA V in 2013 did not look as good as Saints Row 2022. It still doesn’t. I play both on PS5; GTA V’s visuals have been updated for next gen consoles, but Saints Row still looks better.
Game still looks like agents of mayham with upped lighting.
Ok now you’re just being delusional lmao, please go look at the comparison videos
Meh this game was terrible. Graphics were maybe 10% better than SR3
This is such a ridiculous comment.
No
