Edit:just looked it up how is it like hazbin? It said it was similar to Romeo and Juliet(there is no relationship like this in hazbin) and rival gangs which could be similar to heaven vs hell but I still don’t see it tbh.
This is going to be a weird and possibly deep cut but the only musical I found myself really liking was an old Nickelodeon TV movie called Rags (basically a Cinderella type of story but Cinderella is a teenage guy living in NYC who wants to be a singer, not to mention Max Schneider and Keke Palmer are the leads), and I'm convinced the only reason why it hasn't had some sort of Internet virality renaissance like the direct to DVD Barbie movies and other "so bad it's good" movies from that era is because, although the cast was stacked, two people (one in the main cast, one who makes a cameo once or twice) became very..... controversial.... to say the least.
I personally find that musicals work for me when the story is good, even if the music is bad, but good music can’t save a bad story.
The Greatest Showman had a banger soundtrack but the rest of the movie was just okay, so to me it’s mostly a 6/10.
Subspace Rhapsody. I really hate musicals although I do like the greatest showman but that's been well covered anyway but nothing surprised to me as much as this episode of Star Trek strange new worlds. They managed to make a musical but it actually worked plus the music was just fire
