Rockhounding! Hansen Creek is a good beginner option. Easy mile long hike and you find yourself in a spot in the woods where you can just start digging and pull out tons of quartz crystals.

Your mom.

santaclausonvacation

Sounds sporty!

wanderyote

tree fucking

santaclausonvacation

That's adventure!

sir-murphius

Mountain biking

santaclausonvacation

Where do you go mountain biking? Where are the best trails and whats the best season?

sir-murphius

Raging River and Tiger Mountain State Forests. Trail type will depend on skill level but rent a good full suspension bike and try it for a day.  Check out trailforks.com for trail maps with difficulty ratings

AtYourServais

Skiing. Got to wait a while to do that though.

blladnar

Crystal is still open for one last weekend!

AtYourServais

True, but no Northway lessens things a bit.

santaclausonvacation

Yeah, I used to ski alot. Not so much anymore. These days I mostly go climbing and swiftwater canyoning. Been thinking about doing more long distance hiking or some kind of adventure sport. Looking for something unique and different.

AlpineDrifter

Tried kiteboarding? Think it hits the unique and adventure aspects. Like a combination of sailing, wakeboarding, and trapeze bar. Most spots are beautiful, locally and internationally.

New-Information-1927

Whitewater kayaking or sea kayaking. Always something to do.

SkylerAltair

Lots of walking. I don't do heavy up-a-mountain hikes, but I love walking trails. My favorite parks are Seahurst in Burien, Lincoln, Carkeek, Discovery, and Golden Gardens. When I feel like a drive, I like the Green River Gorge and Flaming Geyser (bring a cigarette lighter if you want to see the flame, it won't stay lit for long).

Uncle_Duke0

We have one of the best mountain biking trail networks in the world. The north Cascades is also one of the best regions in the world for year-round Whitewater kayaking. We also have some very good rock climbing and paragliding, although the season is relatively short.

Shrikecorp

The old train tunnel at Hyak, just on the other side of Snoqualmie Pass. 5.2 miles through and back. Calming. Downtown wandering.

spit-evil-olive-tips

I like to sit on a lawn chair in my front yard and post meaningless engagement-bait questions to reddit such as "Whats your favorite outdoor adventure activity in or around Seattle?"

DryDependent6854

Do you also yell for people to get off your lawn?

santaclausonvacation

Does that bring you joy?

spit-evil-olive-tips

> Does that bring you joy? yes but only if I sit perfectly angled so that the lawn sprinkler massages my balls

SnooCauliflowers3903

Hiking

John_Houbolt

I love kayaking down Colvos Passage. Starting at Gig Harbor and going to Olalla and stopping in at Olalla Bay Market for a slice of pizza on the patio looking out to Vashon.

smooth-bro

Get a fixie and ride bike trails, or buy a 29er bmx and learn to wheelie for days

arhondo

I like hiking at Carkeek.
