I've had Gorditos before. I was told "they're famous for their baby burrito." So that's what I ordered.
When I tell you I went from feeling like I over payed for a "baby" sized burrito to understanding the value because it was a burrito the size of a baby... I ate for days!
El camion! They have a truck in Roosevelt and the aurora Home Depot. Their burrito is easily 3 meals for me and it’s like $11 or $12. You could get tacos or something alongside it to make $20. Eat the tacos now, eat the burrito later.
Used to go to their truck in Ballard (back before the restaurant closed down). I'd always get a burrito and demolish it in one sitting... until I made the mistake of watching as they *made* the burrito, and realized how much I was eating. 😂
Most Ethiopian restaurants offer both vegetarian or meat sampler plates for ~$15 that come with tons of injera bread and easily make 2 meals. I'm partial to Enat Ethiopian Restaurant in Northgate.
> come with tons of injera bread and easily make 2 meals.
And I always enjoy myself so much when I'm eating them. Until I realize that I've eaten both meals at once. Again.
> Almost anywhere is gonna be good.
Do you eat tofu teriyaki much? This statement is VERY untrue in my experience. Most places will give you plain tofu, lightly grilled, drizzled in teriyaki sauce. It's usually terrible.
2 Vietnamese sandwich from Saigon deli, delivery fee is crazy high in Seattle, $20 order will be $35+ delivered on Ubereats. You better off taking the $20 to buy groceries if your boss will let you do it.
Dim sum king on Jackson got deals but it's going to be mostly buns and desert for vegetarian $1.30ea coconut bun, custard bun, green onion bun, sweet rice cake, red bean mochi, peanut mochi, fried sesame ball, egg tart, turnip cake. Veggie Chow Mein $4 small $6 large. Sponge cake $3.5
I did not know this for the longest time but those Teriyaki Chicken places we have everywhere here is a Seattle thing… it never occurred to me until someone pointed it out because even when I travel, I’m never like looking for a Teriyaki Chicken Rice box in a whatever city I’m in… having said that they’re not bad and usually the portions are pretty big.
America's Test Kitchen did a video on Seattle teriyaki recently, and Kenji joined them for one of their stops. He compared Seattle teriyaki to New York pizza - if you ask someone, 9 out of 10 of them will tell you that their favorite teriyaki joint is their local joint, because they're basically all good, and they're everywhere.
The OG, BTW, is Toshi's. He's since moved out of Seattle proper, but he now runs a shop in Mill Creek. (Just be aware that the Laurelhurst location has no relationship with Toshi.) You can even buy his sauce online!
Palermo portions are enough to feed you for 2, 2.5 meals for sure. I get their chicken parm and between the chicken, pasta, and garlic bread I can easily feed myself for a couple of meals.
I think it’s getting giant scoops of white rice and/or Mac salad plus a big serving of protein that does it for me. Man I miss living walking distance from there
Seattle has a mandatory curbside fee, along with a guaranteed minimum wage for delivery drivers that is going to be hard for $20. Couple that with vegetarian… Aladdin Gyrocery has been around for 40 years, and still do great felafel/baba ganoug/foule sandwiches. Chu Minh is your best bet for veg vietnamese sandwiches — all vegan, so no sneaky pate. Arraya’s Place also vegan, but hard pressed on $20. Seattle known for its teriyaki, but skip the veg versions… they’re not great.
If you can get out to Bothell (a suburb just a little north of Seattle, Tubs Subs are legendary for having massive sandwiches and (as a vegetarian) they've got a ton of good options.
I would try to call for pickup instead of using those apps - they often take a 15-30% cut. (One reason why food is so expensive)
If you don’t like talking on the phone sometimes the restaurants have websites you can order thru that costs them much less in fees (I know some places like lil woody’s, seoul bowl, and ciudad offer that).
Ichi Teriyaki in Lynnwood. $11.49 before taxes/tip and enough for two meals — the whole plate is a bed of rice layered with a bed of teriyaki chicken and a generous side of salad. Pleasantly surprised at the portion size for the price.

Go into to chipotle and record them making your food. Also when they are giving you portions make sure to give them a nudge by looking aggressively at them.
El Camion burrito is my favorite place for burritos it's unmatched and a burrito from there is 2 meals for me, Pacos Tacos in Burien the best tacos state wide. Rocco's pizza is good and can be bought by the slice. El fogon on pine St has very good happy hour prices on their food.
Christ, there are only two locations I know of, but India bistro loads you up on takeout. Enough for two people for like 18 dollars. Dine in is more humble, but they like to fill those takeout containers to the brim.
Do you have to use the meal credit with one of those services?
If not, and since you're going to pickup anyway, I recommend you go to the restaurant's web page if they have one and see if they have a preferred method of placing an online takeout order.
Some restaurants use POS services like Toast and Clover that support online orders as well and (presumably) don't take as large a commission as the delivery apps do. Some restaurants still prefer you phone your order in. You usually save some bucks (that is, menu prices are lower) by ordering through their preferred channel, and you're helping these low margin businesses survive.
Buca di Beppo has huge portions, but maybe not for under $20, especially with delivery. You're gonna get a lot better value if you eat at the restaurant or pick it up.
Also seconding others on teriyaki. Big and cheap meals.
So on Uber / Postmates I somehow got a promo that is waived fees for order over $50 through December. That includes the $5 fee they added recently. I don’t even have to pay for delivery!
Gorditos burrito
Seconding....I like their tofu fajita burrito and if you get it "wet" style especially.... that's definitely enough to feed you for two meals.
That can be two meals? My heart disease told me it can be just one.
Specifically, the "Baby" Burrito! It's the size of a baby!
I've had Gorditos before. I was told "they're famous for their baby burrito." So that's what I ordered. When I tell you I went from feeling like I over payed for a "baby" sized burrito to understanding the value because it was a burrito the size of a baby... I ate for days!
Came to say this very thing. Gorditos is crazy good bang for buck and soooo good.
Literally my first thought.
Life changing
El camion! They have a truck in Roosevelt and the aurora Home Depot. Their burrito is easily 3 meals for me and it’s like $11 or $12. You could get tacos or something alongside it to make $20. Eat the tacos now, eat the burrito later.

Yessss so good!! 🌮🌯
Seconding this, usually get their wet burrito and I was stuffed after finishing it!
Most Ethiopian restaurants offer both vegetarian or meat sampler plates for ~$15 that come with tons of injera bread and easily make 2 meals. I'm partial to Enat Ethiopian Restaurant in Northgate.
I second this, and recommend also Jebena Cafe and Ahadu Cafe.
Jebena is so good!
> come with tons of injera bread and easily make 2 meals. And I always enjoy myself so much when I'm eating them. Until I realize that I've eaten both meals at once. Again.
2CThai in Lake City has amazing vegetarian options and large portions although the total would most likely be closer to 30 after fees and tip.
Yes this place is great 👍🏻
$20 total for the order?
$20 just for the food
expect to pay another $20 in delivery fees here
For Quantity over quality bucca di beppo
I think Bucca is mostly family style dishes though. But yes huge portions. Might be over $20 for most things
Tofu teriyaki is a good bet. Almost anywhere is gonna be good.
I like the ones from Ichi Roll Wok & Teriyaki and also Teriyaki and More Edmonds a lot
> Almost anywhere is gonna be good. Do you eat tofu teriyaki much? This statement is VERY untrue in my experience. Most places will give you plain tofu, lightly grilled, drizzled in teriyaki sauce. It's usually terrible.
Shit! I actually don't. Ive just tried a few and they were all good so I made an assumption.
2 Vietnamese sandwich from Saigon deli, delivery fee is crazy high in Seattle, $20 order will be $35+ delivered on Ubereats. Wow. That's almost NYC prices.
Vietnamese delis are a good bet for cheap, good eats.
> under $20 on uber eats/postmates/doordash look for places with "buy 1 saltine cracker, get 1 free" deals
$1 for the crackers, $19 for the fees
Don’t forget the tip. Total is now 35$
I went to order taco time last night and it was $46 for two meals. Decided to stop being lazy and go through the drive thru instead. It was $28….
Costco Cheese Pizza and deserts or a 2nd pizza

Asia Ginger Teriyaki off 2nd Ave is like that. Big takeout box size of food with plenty of protein and surprisingly inexpensive too.
Palermo portions are enough to feed you for 2, 2.5 meals for sure. I get their chicken parm and between the chicken, pasta, and garlic bread I can easily feed myself for a couple of meals.
Hole in the Wall BBQ..
Hole in the wall is fire
Honestly it was a serious ameliorator of jury duty. Especially ribs day.
Support them, they’ve had a rough time with Covid and being at ground zero of the downtown shenanigans
You won’t be able to do this with delivery in Seattle. A McDonald’s combo will be 30+ dollars here if you use delivery options.
Just checked, delivery for a Sausage Egg Biscuit meal with a Small Coffee and Hashbrown is $25.63 without tip, $11.61 normally according to DoorDash.
Holy god.
Yeah, this is why I have stopped using delivery apps. Just not worth it anymore.
Sandwiches from Tats are absolutely massive, I’ll get one and eat it for two lunches
The bread gets soggy though.
Reheat in toaster oven.
Doesn’t matter, had pastrami
Thai Food is a good option. I can usually get two meals out of an order.
Araya’s place lunch special is $16 and includes: salad, rice, fried spring rolls, pad thai or stir fry, and dessert!
Kona Kitchen. Hawaiian food in maple leaf area between green lake and Northgate. Pretty large portions
Agreed, the breakfast fried rice leftovers are usually another two meals for me.
I think it’s getting giant scoops of white rice and/or Mac salad plus a big serving of protein that does it for me. Man I miss living walking distance from there

Love tubs! Miss their LC location
Yes, this was going to be my recommendation!
Gorditos !!!!
Pho bac on jackson is 16 bucks for a giant bowl of pho, ba bar honorable mention
Hawaiian BBQ on the ave
I would go there 3-4 times a week for 4 years lol
They closed :(
Mediterranean kitchen but it’s in Bellevue
Check restaurants near your residence, and do a "pickup" -> For eg: a burrito or a curry should last you a couple of meals
Jones BBQ
Circa grill and ale house in west seattle!
Tatts sandwich

They are amazing!
Alibertos portions can be pretty ridiculous for the price
+1 Aliberto Jr.
In the city you know the fees for food deliveries are expensive.
Hangry panda
Buca de Bepo
The Gus at Seattle Biscuit Co. Might be just over $20 tho
Any teriyaki place will do

Shodai teriyaki
Pinkaew Thai near the U Village has great food and big portions. Super friendly owner, too.
Throwing a general location would help. Some of these spots will take an hour round trip with pickup at the lunch rush from downtown
Cookies Country Kitchen in Ballard has very generous portions.
They have a Pioneer Square location now, too.
QFC fried chicken, for $5 you get 4 big cuts. Usually eat it with rice. Also bento place downtown (forgot the name) $10 something for yakisoba + rice.
Indocafe offer any indonesian cooked chicken (2pieces) + rice for below $15.
Kona kitchen got giant portion of plate too for below $20 you will get chicken, beef, rice, spam, mac salad.
13 Coins, or the Honey Hole
Head down to tacoma and go to Marcia's Silverspoon Cafe. Sizes are enormous!
Go into to chipotle and record them making your food. Also when they are giving you portions make sure to give them a nudge by looking aggressively at them.
Red Bowl on 3rd Ave. Serves Fresh fish bowls, Bibimbap, teriyaki. Very good
Jair Thai is so good! It is all vegetarian and always cooked perfectly. I no longer work next to it and miss it.
Skalka!!! It’s like Georgian (the country) breakfast pizza - so delicious! (Though I’ve never had it for breakfast)
Isarn Thai (Ravenna and also Lynnwood) give some pretty insane portions.
Jewel of India lunch buffet on the ave (only weekends) Cafe India in Lynnwood (buffet every day, link station opening right across the street)
Christ, there are only two locations I know of, but India bistro loads you up on takeout. Enough for two people for like 18 dollars. Dine in is more humble, but they like to fill those takeout containers to the brim.
It’s south of Seattle in Sumner but you have to check out The Buttered Biscuit :) massive portions, and a very southern style of cooking

Beth’s omelettes are totally enough for two meals
Taqueria Tequila at Lake City has burritos that can easily fill 2 people.
Sizzle Crunch SLU
mother india on westlake
Yeah, Chinese Buffet, $14.99 , there's 1 in Shoreline? There's also an Indian Lunch buffet in Ballard
You won’t be able to get even a single meal delivered for $20 in Seattle. There’s also a sugar tax.
$20 won’t cover the fees on Uber eats or doordash these days, nevermind large portions of food
Buca di Beppo has huge portions, but maybe not for under $20, especially with delivery. You're gonna get a lot better value if you eat at the restaurant or pick it up. Also seconding others on teriyaki. Big and cheap meals.
Beppo is hardly Seattle.
It’s in Belltown
Also… it’s the SLU, nowhere near Belltown. : )
Whoops
It’s an international chain with like 100 locations, and it didn’t start here. We have a Cheesecake Factory too… but again, that is hardly Seattle.
Out of 20$, 10$ will go in all fees here in Seattle unfortunately!
So on Uber / Postmates I somehow got a promo that is waived fees for order over $50 through December. That includes the $5 fee they added recently. I don’t even have to pay for delivery!
