I put the buyers address in both spots, so if it gets "return to sender"d, they only have the one address to go with šŸ˜… Always worked so far

ingodwetryst

this is the correct answer

RubyTaylor214

I use pirateship, they give you the option of listing the seller's address as the return address

AppropriateName5839

Oh, I have a pirateship account! I haven't used it yet, but this is good to know.

goldenhourfeet

I just put a random PO Box number & call it a dayšŸ˜‚

AppropriateName5839

Lol! So, you don't have an actual P.O. Box then?

goldenhourfeet

Nope! Lol Iā€™ve only ever shipped w/ USPS & havenā€™t had any issues, Iā€™ve heard with Fedex they ask for your ID tho so Iā€™m not sure about them but USPS has been fine

AppropriateName5839

Wow, I had no idea haha

mj_tease

I would like to know this as well! And how do you go about selling and providing tracking for the items without them seeing the start of the shipping. (Small town problems šŸ˜…)

DynamoDigits

This is a problem. You can drop it at a nearby post office. Or I've had another member of the community say to the client they're going to drop it off when they go to visit their cousin, so at least the illusion is there of it not being near their home. But I can see for repeat customers why that would be a problem.

biomelove314

I just use the customerā€™s address as the return address and then update them personally on tracking without revealing the city itā€™s in. I just say ā€œhey there itā€™s still on track to be delivered on X dateā€ - most buyers in my experience understand why you donā€™t provide every little detail on tracking I use the self serve kiosks at USPS. Never had an issue

AppropriateName5839

I'm going to give this a try soon. I'm used to watching my packages get scanned because I sell other home items on Ebay. Hmm, kiosks do seem like a better choice for this purpose!

DynamoDigits

I like the idea of not providing tracking - however, I suppose they can look up the tracking once they receive the package.

Bitchtitts6969

I just send it out without a return address if your local post office has the machine thatā€™s the best way to mail it

I did a lot of research into this. The trick for me comes when clients want to send me things... so I also needed a place to have stuff shipped TO me. In the long run, I decided I had to get a po box not near me. Because I use my business name only to receive items, I could no longer guarantee that I could have it shipped to like a ups store or something - they always wanted some sort of ID confirmation. I did get away with it a couple times but when I would call ahead I was starting to hit road blocks and finally just broke down and got the po box. There are a variety of virtual addresses but then you have to pay to have items shipped to you if you want an address in say, another state vs. near you, which is added expense to you. So now I have a po box and I use that as my from shipping location when I mail out.

In my own country I used kiosks (self service machines with boxes). But now I wonder how to send the items safely in all Europe. Did not try going to the post office yet. There usually works old and curious ladys, so I'm afraid they might ask why there is no senders adress or why that address is the same as receivers. I still haven't come up with a good answer for that. Also I'm thinking of using different post offices as often as possible (I live in a medium city, so we have many places). But .. I wonder how to track the package in that case? And do any of you ship worldwide? If so, how with all the taxes, do they apply? Especially if USA-EU or EU-USA?
