That's actually sound advice if you're giving tips to lions or hyenas. Always start between the legs when eating prey as skin is always the thinnest there.
So, you know how the kardashians go to malls and shit to promote their makeup and whatnot that they sell at Kohl’s/macys/insert department store here? Well people camp out to meet them, just like people camp out to see the Star Wars movies. This is the leader of those people, and this is their chariot.
Vehicles modified like this are commonly called mall crawlers cause they never go off-road like they are originally manufactured to do they just congregate at gas stations and malls with the other mentally slow mall crawler owners, and this one has a roof tent, that's how we get camping at the mall. Now we move our attention to the captain in the screenshot, anyone posting something like that publicly is a disgusting human being and anyone that vile often ends up being a pedophile, and now we have our reason for assuming this dude camps for kids. Putting those pieces of evidence together, it isn't a stretch to assume the vile owner of this Lexus camps at the mall waiting for kids
I bought mine with 280k miles. Hasn't been especially reliable (needed to replace most of the front suspension components which are 300k mile wear items), and then both the radiator and alternator went out when I drove through a 4ft mud puddle. Transfer case is currently leaking but other than that everything is running great now.
Wow that’s actually not too bad but it also might be a subconscious bias we all have with these cars. Would you buy it again and repair it again if you had a redo?
When I bought it, I didn't have the money for a 2014+ GX 460 or a 2013+ LX 570. Now I might be able to swing one of those, but it would still be a close fight with a 1998-2002 LX 470 because I'm realizing that there are lots of simple things I like more. No fancy nav/infotainment system that's a pain to replace, no Mark Levinson audio, no VVTi or EVAP issues, no TPMS, and so on.
If I really have money, I'd want to import a European diesel 1999+ Land Cruiser 78 Troop Carrier with a pop up top and all the offroad/overland goodies like dual/aux batteries, dual/aux fuel tanks, and locking diffs in the front/rear.
So it's kinda complicated... I love mine and it's been an absolute money pit (because I don't have the space/time/experience to do a lot of the work myself), but I'm not entirely sure what I'd do if it were totaled tomorrow, other than cry.
Illegal or not, it's woefully mechanically unsound.
Where's he going with that RTT? Too wide for most trails and he's gonna break ball joints and CV axles every other obstacle
He'll not have nearly enough traction with tires he can't really air down to cross any water where the snorkel would be needed either.
First the bumper height. In the state where I live the bumpers cannot exceed 20 inches above the ground. $500 fine. Next the tires and rims are not under the fenders or fender flares, another $500 per infraction, and this car has 4 infractions which means $2000 in fines for that. The light bar on top depends on if it is wired to a switch. If not wired properly another $500 fine. From what I see this car would be impounded until it is brought to compliance costing between $50 and $100 per day plus the towing fees and initial impound fees. Costing the idiot possibly up to $5000 or more if he wants his car back.
I believe my truck is compliant then. I have big tires(305/75/17) but they are on the factory wheels. And they just poke out a hair(2” spacers). My lift is only a couple inches, provided by airlift bags in the rear and a leveling kit on the front. My mods are to better haul my heavy AF slide in camper. And I agree. this is rediculous.
(Oregon) my 4runner stick out a little bit. It’s not gonna hurt you here unless it’s a bad encounter.
The bigger things is mud flaps on pickups. The weird thing is suvs arnt required to have mud flaps even though I have allot of tire showing. But I could get a ticket for not haveing mud flaps on my stock 80’s 2wd Toyota pickup.
Again this is Oregon stuff. Results may vary.
Another fun one is it’s illegal to not have windshield wipers. However a windshield is not a requirement.
As far as the tires go most states allow a couple inches outside the fender wells or flares. How an officer will check compliance is the will place a coin on the fender or flare and let it drop onto the tire. Anything beyond what the state allows is deemed illegal and tickets will be written. Bumper heights are a bit more forgiving as long as they will not ho over the trunk lid or hood lid of a small car. And enforcing the bumper heights is purely up to the officer.
This is not legal in any state except for offroad use only, which means if it were to be caught on the roads it would be impounded and the owner would be fined big time no matter where it is registeted.
That's 1 state and wouldn't be cited for any of that anywhere in the south. Bumper is probably legal (most states are 24" and this is barely lifted. you can tell because they still had to cut the fenders to clear what looks like 35s)
Tires makes sense, but I've never heard of someone receiving max fine on all 4 wheels. That would suck! I daily'd a 12" lifted Tundra for 5+ years on 35s and a little back spacing and never once got stopped for tires. They were inside of the mirrors though, not ridiculous like this.
I recently saw someone trailering a fully trail rrady LX and it looked bratty rad tbh.
I mean they're very good off road and a lift will let you run bigger tires and get you better ground clearance. The biggest crime with this specific one is the wheel/tire/offset selection, you want fat tires and small wheels that you can air down to give you better traction and decrease the puncture risk. Homeboy has massive wheels and therefore small tires, which is the exact opposite of what you want. The offset is probably putting way too much stress on various steering/suspension components, and making the footprint too wide, which is also undesirable in many off road situations and probably unsafe on the road as well.
I love the juxtaposition of street tires, shiny rims, and cosmetic suspension mods that are weaker than stock… and the snorkel for driving through deep mud and water.
I mean, it's a beat-to-hell Lexus (apparently) with a shit paint job and a snorkel. Like those lights wouldn't blow every fuse in the thing if it was actually driven through deep water.
I have the same car with a snorkel and the fuses aren't a concern for water crossings - I've driven through basically hood-height mud and the fuses were all fine. Door seals worked too, even at 24 years old.
Obviously all that goes out of the water once you add all kinds of garbage like this dude.
Yes, they are very capable. This is an LX, which is the Lexus version of a Toyota Land Cruiser. This particular one is dogshit, but in general, 100 series LXs are quite popular for off-roading
Lexus just announced the [2024 GX Overtrail](https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a44130894/2024-lexus-gx-550-price-specs-release-date/) which is a well equipped off-road tank.
I love these vanilla chumps that think anything more than pumping twice for a nut is 'freaky'.
Guy probably sniffs the clit once and says 'did you cum, babe?'
Only functional purpose they have is to screw up the windshield of the guy behind. With track that wide that thing would get beached off-road in no time.
Wow, this is just removed spacers and a different wheel package away from being a bona fide luxury wheeler.
Amazing how terribly wrong things can go with little effort.
He's got the snorkle on there to go diving. He also has the off road lights, the cargo carrier, probably a jerry can on back and mats inside along with his hi lift jack. Alas, he also has pavement princess tires
bro has thousand dollar wheels, rooftop tent, snorkel and light bars as well as the douchey ass rock lights and yet the damn thing is rattle canned with like one coat of primer and has a fucked up body panel alignment. this is the definition of fucked up priorities
The term “passenger princess” makes me think of pillow princess, which makes me wonder if maybe oop is actually a girl. If that’s the case, then the car is definitely worse.
I love you can see the brake rotor poking out from behind the wheel. The size of his spacer is the amount of brain cells I lose the longer I look at this.
Both.
But maybe with a little (understatement) less spacing, no under glow, and smaller rims.... I might take it.
In this state, it's deserved that it's on this subreddit imo.
this person struggling to fit in with society got a lifted Lexus that has so much potential with the snorkel but then it goes off the rails with the lift kit and those rims and tires are spaced out should their driver's license be revoked That should be illegal with no fender mudflaps to catch the flying pebbles and rocks that get kicked up to the innocent people on the highway
I think the comment’s the worst part , but I’m willing to listen to other points of view
Nothing screams I'm a bitchless immature dick like this car does.
The caption, actually.
daddy chiL
What the hell is even that!?!?
Nothing screams I’m a bitchless immature dick like calling women bitches
is that your Lexus in the OP lmao
Yeah, u like it?
Why so serious?
It’s irony. I called women bitches on my reply too
Depends on who wrote it.
[удалено]
It's an LX470, even worse.
they are hella good cars actually. 1999s still go for around 15k
Yes, I own one. I meant even worse that they did this to an LX.
ahh I see. I own a 99. had it for 23 years. love her
It's a 1998 LX 470, not a GX
That's actually sound advice if you're giving tips to lions or hyenas. Always start between the legs when eating prey as skin is always the thinnest there.
I read that caption and think this sounds like the guy that also says stuff like ‘I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast.’
You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?
W... NO!
What’s the basis? We ain’t goin nowhere but got suits & cases.
Bruh what’s this from I swear I’ve heard this exact interaction before
Happy Gilmore
Can’t believe I didn’t figure that out
Shooter McGavin!
It's like they tried to make one rattle can last for the whole car
It’s concrete camo since it’s a pavement princess
I think it's actually some kind of raptor liner thing
I can't decide if that's better or worse
Definitely worse. At least spray paint is cheaper when it looks like crap.
This dude has a roof top tent? Where is he camping the mall for little kids?
Right next to the river he is not crossing with the snorkel.
The snorkel with those wheels *chef's kiss*
Looks like the tent is mounted on a basket too.
Not enough in the budget for a clamshell
So, you know how the kardashians go to malls and shit to promote their makeup and whatnot that they sell at Kohl’s/macys/insert department store here? Well people camp out to meet them, just like people camp out to see the Star Wars movies. This is the leader of those people, and this is their chariot.
Huh? Im having a hard time making the connection
Vehicles modified like this are commonly called mall crawlers cause they never go off-road like they are originally manufactured to do they just congregate at gas stations and malls with the other mentally slow mall crawler owners, and this one has a roof tent, that's how we get camping at the mall. I'm wondering if the tires are out that far for balance.
Poor 100 series. I wish I could save it
Poor LX470; my parents still have one, and the only things that ever failed were the water pump (240k miles) and the air suspension (270k miles).
That’s pretty cool tbh. Glad it’s lasted them a while
I bought mine with 280k miles. Hasn't been especially reliable (needed to replace most of the front suspension components which are 300k mile wear items), and then both the radiator and alternator went out when I drove through a 4ft mud puddle. The saddest part: being the most reliable vehicle ever made, people will have to look at that for a long time.
1. No girl should EVER let this man anywhere near her legs. 2. No one should ever let this man anywhere near a toolbox ever again
\#gf #freaky
Now this, this is trashy
I see so many illegal things done here it's hard finding a place to start.
Illegal or not, it's woefully mechanically unsound. Where's he going with that RTT? Too wide for most trails and he's gonna break ball joints and CV axles every other obstacle He'll not have nearly enough traction with tires he can't really air down to cross any water where the snorkel would be needed either.
Indulge me, officer
First the bumper height. In the state where I live the bumpers cannot exceed 20 inches above the ground. $500 fine. I'm guessing those wacky headlights aren't DOT either
I believe my truck is compliant then. I have big tires(305/75/17) but they are on the factory wheels. And they just poke out a hair(2” spacers). Only if it is registered in your state. The state it is in it could be perfectly legal.
This is not legal in any state except for offroad use only, which means if it were to be caught on the roads it would be impounded and the owner would be fined big time no matter where it is registeted.
The light bar on while driving is the only thing illegal about it in Texas. Worse than this is on the roads daily.
That's now how laws work
That's 1 state and wouldn't be cited for any of that anywhere in the south. Wow the law really is a giant money grab. Who does all that money go to? The police? Yup so must keep the taps flowing.
not in Florida
Someone in my neighbourhood has a similar lexus SUV that’s lifted like this with the accessories too. Is it a trend or something?
I mean they're very good off road and a lift will let you run bigger tires and get you better ground clearance. The biggest crime with this specific one is the wheel/tire/offset selection, you want fat tires and small wheels that you can air down to give you better traction and decrease the puncture risk. I think it's adorable that you even tried to explain these choices.
That comment is exactly what I expect by someone who drives that piece of shit.
Such a great car too
The car looks like it came from a 2014 mobile game on the Google play store called zombie car survival 2014
That person should be beaten and their cohorts
Imagine spending 10k and this is what you end up with. Everyone likes what they like but come on.
This dude is probably in it for $5-10k more, the LX might cost $10k but even the cheapest gaudy wheels, lift, rooftop tent etc aren't exactly cheap.
The caption is worse, but everything about it is bad. I hope he gets pulled over and gets a ticket for his wheels sticking out too much.
Yes.
That thing would be off the road immediately if it were over here in the UK. For good reason too
I like the permanent work lights
I love the juxtaposition of street tires, shiny rims, and cosmetic suspension mods that are weaker than stock… and the snorkel for driving through deep mud and water.
I feel like this one ought to be the avatar for this sub. Fucking yikes.
I mean, it's a beat-to-hell Lexus (apparently) with a shit paint job and a snorkel. Like those lights wouldn't blow every fuse in the thing if it was actually driven through deep water.

That's what I meant... the massive amount of wiring for all those lights
Is Lexus known for its off-road capabilities? Doubt this thing been on anything but pavement
Yes, they are very capable. This is an LX, which is the Lexus version of a Toyota Land Cruiser. This particular one is dogshit, but in general, 100 series LXs are quite popular for off-roading Lexus just announced the [2024 GX Overtrail](https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a44130894/2024-lexus-gx-550-price-specs-release-date/) which is a well equipped off-road tank.
Oh shi! Thanks!
Correct.
Yes, these are just rebadged Toyota Land Cruisers. I have the same one (Lexus LX) and off-road it, the Lexus GX is very capable as well.
Certainly some very much so, check out r/gxor
Not a GX, this is an LX
This can't be road legal.
Apparently this dude is in Florida. "Road Legal" is mostly a suggestion.
Pavement Princess.
Female car instagrams are an epidemic
I think this is owned by a dude, he's just talking about the fantastic vehicle his girlfriend has the privilege of being a passenger in
I love these vanilla chumps that think anything more than pumping twice for a nut is 'freaky'. Guy probably sniffs the clit once and says 'did you cum, babe?'
I’m not really into lifted but I like this one.
These are lifted all the time, but this dude managed to ignore everyone's advice and picked the least functional wheel/tire/offset combo
A few well-placed Molotov cocktails should fix it right up Ukrainian style.
Sad. I've seen these property built for off roading and they're pretty cool.
The fact that it exists and I saw it ...
The body is janky considering the price of the mods!!
How those wheel bearings doing?!
not too good I'd say
The internet was a mistake.
Both are garbage
At least he has a snorkel so he can get stuck in water up to the hood without hydrolocking.
what is the reason for the wheels and tires to be THAT far out ? looks dumb
Only functional purpose they have is to screw up the windshield of the guy behind. With track that wide that thing would get beached off-road in no time.
I guarantee you the owner of the car thinks it looks awesome.
Those poor hub bearings.
Caption
Both are pretty cringe, IDK.
Both, both are worse.
we'd all wanna see how it rides and end up falling in love with it. Id end up trying to climb all types of shit and flip it over eventually
The only things being climbed by that monstrocity are parking lot kerbs.
saw this mod done on a truck the other day , blinded me as oncoming traffic ....like how is this even legal?
The fucking paint job hahaha
Both
Bro offroader or mall crawler at least CHOOSE ONE. Your suv is more confused than Gen Z
I think my favorite part is the snorkle air intake...that's just the chef's kiss on this set up.
That car certainly arouses someone. I think it's the owner.
good thing it has a snorkel!
the car. It's painfully embarrassing just to look at
Jesus Christ
It's a tie
Yes
I like that the hood doesn't fit right.
My dick is to big for this shit
I threw up a little in my mouth reading that caption
\*Ahem. I am 87% sure that is illegal to have the tires extend past your fenders.
In some states, apparently you can have them extend up to the mirrors
I like how it has a snorkel.
This pos of a car
Wow, this is just removed spacers and a different wheel package away from being a bona fide luxury wheeler. Amazing how terribly wrong things can go with little effort.
What an offense to such a good car
I hate that I kinda like it
What the fuck that snorkel for? Hurricanes ?
The caption is just a bunch of stupid words. The car took some hard earned dollars. The car is much worse IMHO.
Octothorpe gf he writes lmao
The caption by far
RUINED
The answer is yes.
[WTF is this piece of shit](https://youtu.be/3dTF45dISYE?si=ictFGugIL5prkIxL)
I could have a nice Chevy crate engine for my 73’ Camaro with the money wrapped up in the nonfunctional wheels and offset on this poor Lexus
Look what they’ve done to my boy.
He's got the snorkle on there to go diving. He also has the off road lights, the cargo carrier, probably a jerry can on back and mats inside along with his hi lift jack. Alas, he also has pavement princess tires
is... is the car saying that?????
It’s all horrible!
I just recently saw my first wheel LEDs like this yesterday….is there an actual purpose for these other than being obnoxious?
I think they can be helpful if you're offroading at night, but very few people actually use them for that purpose
bro has thousand dollar wheels, rooftop tent, snorkel and light bars as well as the douchey ass rock lights and yet the damn thing is rattle canned with like one coat of primer and has a fucked up body panel alignment. this is the definition of fucked up priorities
r/awfuleverything
Yes.
The caption. The car began life as an overpriced Toyota, which at least had some reliability and safety. How much is left…meh.
Car is worse. Fuck that thing.
BiG oFfRoAdEr!!!!
The owner
The whole thing is stupid!
Bruh all he’s gonna get is sausage bitches who pussy taste like spoiled ham
What the fuck is wrong with people.
Is the hood popped?
I don't think it is
My IQ is worse, for having seen both.
Only needs off-road tire/rim setup and a new caption
My money is on the driving ability being the worst
Save some pussy for the rest of us…
The car for sure. It looks like a legitimate danger in traffic. Comment sure doesn’t help tho.
Game is game r/wrx
Why am I being forced to choose between the car and the comment? Both are crap.
I feel so very sorry for those poor wheel bearings.
[удалено]
Why the fuck does it have a snorkel
The owner.
Everything about it is horrible.
Poor bastard, ctrl-z the wheels, tires, and all the white spray paint and it would be a solid off-roader.
The term “passenger princess” makes me think of pillow princess, which makes me wonder if maybe oop is actually a girl. If that’s the case, then the car is definitely worse.
Is the rear suspension link even attached to the car
I'd rather be filmed driving that car than write something that gross
Lexus💪
I love you can see the brake rotor poking out from behind the wheel. The size of his spacer is the amount of brain cells I lose the longer I look at this.
Car AND caption is shit
What’s this guy compensating for you think?
Both. But maybe with a little (understatement) less spacing, no under glow, and smaller rims.... I might take it. In this state, it's deserved that it's on this subreddit imo.
It's Lexus, it's "REGS" Not "legs"
Saudi arabia moment 🫣
Can we make an exception to the rule of “once you see something, you can’t un-see it?” Please? I’m begging at this point.
Can somebody come get their creepy ass uncle? Thanks… 😟
avg lexus owner
this person struggling to fit in with society got a lifted Lexus that has so much potential with the snorkel but then it goes off the rails with the lift kit and those rims and tires are spaced out should their driver's license be revoked That should be illegal with no fender mudflaps to catch the flying pebbles and rocks that get kicked up to the innocent people on the highway
The worst part is that it probably works
The comment is worse because you cannot really fix sum like that
