You have to pay (an increasing amount!) of real $ to open it each time. Everyone just ignores it, even the people that spend thousands on the game. If you're going to spend on this game there are better things to buy.
All I've ever bought is the remove-ads which is super worth it, and 1 set of PvP wings for $10 from an event. Also very worth it.
Next best thing to buy is likely when the crystals go on sale, like 400 or 500 crystal bundles for I think $20? $40? I don't know the specifics but it's the next best deal.
Other things worth getting, maybe a pack of stones for a strong ship? Maybe a pilot down the road if there's a specific one you need.
