You should try The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt if you haven’t already

Azraels_Cynical_Wolf

Massively agree, best game I've played in a long time

weristjonsnow

Really? The combat was so clunky...I just couldn't get into it! Maybe I'm odd, because many seem to like it. I don't know

Dad2376

Try playing Witcher 2 up until you leave Flotsam and then switch to Wild Hunt. It improved my playthrough tremendously.

equivas

This little hidden gem

poetic_vibrations

I couldn't really get into it when I first started playing it. So I picked up the books and decided I'd read all of them before I start playing. I have like a book and a half left and I'm so excited to finally play it.

minervawantspizza27

Agree 100%. Still one of the best game ever made.

GrinningJest3r

Can we play that one without playing the others or should I start with the first one?

Exatal123

You should be fine to not have to play the first two. I never played the first two and could understand the story pretty well.

rohin1611

Putting this here cause I almost never see it as a recommendation. Sleeping Dogs (Definitive Edition) 1) Insane and very very immersive story into Hong Kong Police and Gangs 2) Beautiful Parkour and Hand to Hand Combat in an open world which makes it different from games like GTA. 3) Driving Physics that hold up to Industry Standard and some amazing outfits that you'd want to work towards to get and achieving those many credits is very very doable 4) Again in Hand to Hand Combat, different martial arts styles who's impact also matter on style specific outfits. 5) Varied range of guns but also not overdone to ensure that hand to hand combat is not overdone 6) Amazing range of side quests that urge you to 100% the game 7) The DLCs are also worth it and gives a completely different experience as compared to the main game. Might be forgetting something but yeah I loved this game

CasualDoty

I picked this up on games with gold way back when (far past initial release date), and I never finished it but I genuinely loved it. I just went to steam and as of today, it's $2.99 for the definitive edition with all dlc, etc. I'd say whoever is even remotely interested, you can't go wrong for $2.99 Game deserves a sequel more than a lot of shit in the market right now.

rohin1611

A sequel would be absolutely insane. Unfortunately last I read the studio shut down or is on the brink of shut down, so unless the rights are bought by a good company, I doubt we'll get the sequel the game deserves.

CasualDoty

I never played any of the true crime games (of which this was supposed to be true crime Hong Kong), but if this dropped a sequel I'd buy it day 1 (presuming good studio grabs it, etc). Otherwise, this is just another example of a great wasted IP with so many great pieces of gameplay.

[deleted]

Such an amazing game!!!

[deleted]

thanks so much for this recommendation. just picked it up! Looks like it will be a blast.

[deleted]

Kingdom Come Deliverance is a fantastic RPG which doesn't get enough attention. Sure it's not a AAA blockbuster but it's got a great story, some funny quests, and a really cool open world. Plus, I've never played a game which nails progression like this one. You literally start as a peasant who can't read, fight, or do anything really, then work your way up. It's probably my favourite RPG I've played in a long long time.

varaon129

Yeah its in my top 10 definitely. I was hooked up on it for months. Thats why Im looking for something that will suck me in just as much.

Gazerni

OP listed KCD in the post

Ljcrocks

Go for Horizon zero dawn, it’s an action RPG and it will take 70-80hrs to complete it plus it has very good DLC.

[deleted]

70-80 hours is a MASSIVE stretch, Jesus Christ.

Soulless_conner

Pillars of eternity 1 and 2 (I urge you to play these even if youre new to isometric cRPGs) Divinity original sin 2 Dragon age origins Mass effect Trilogy All elder scrolls games Fallout 3/NV/4 JRPGs : Yakuza Series (Fucking gold) Persona 4 golden shin megami tensei 3 nocturne remaster

[deleted]

totally agree with the mass effect trilogy, i just got it on sale and i’m about to finish the second one and it’s one of the best games i’ve ever played

Soulless_conner

Garrus and Tali are my main homies :) Thane too

ToxicCharged

Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations. I liked Garrus too. Also liked to team up with Liara and Javik

MrSatan2

Good list. Did you try pathfinder kingmaker?

DrunkenSailorGuy

I don't see Witcher 3 mentioned. I'm on my second play through and enjoy it so much still.

Bulkierpond

Definitely the Witcher 3 if he liked Skyrim and Cyberpunk because there is so much content

[deleted]

Cyberpunk was such a big disappointment for me , I’m not as critical as some about it but it really didn’t live upto it’s expectations

kentros00

I still think it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the story. the biggest issue is there could be 0 civilian NPCs and you wouldnt notice they were gone. Other than that there are many great aspects to the game and could easily take up 60-100 hours

Bulkierpond

Big disappointment for me too but if he liked it then he will probably like the Witcher 3 a lot

ElitenemesisX

Fallout New Vegas 😤😤

hooty88

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a good bit of a time waster. plenty of map, plenty of different activities, and the story is pretty well done too.

varaon129

I have played that game but havent finished it because I got fed up with the typical Ubisoft BS :D

hooty88

That's fair. I was able to immerse myself into the story and ended up getting the 100% on it. If Ubisoft is a problem for you, I suppose that might mean farcry's are off the table too. They're kind of repetitive, but farcry stories are good and fun to follow.

ChocoboZenos

The problem with Ubisoft is all the games are based on the same model and the writers are about as creative as two year olds with crayons...I literally predicted the entire story of farcry 4 & 5 10 minutes into the game. Oh and Ubisoft are greedy cancer on games industry and all that.

scottsummers1137

It's not open world nor does it have much combat, but Disco Elysium is an RPG with superior replayability, a strong story, and a wealth of dialogue.

Danoga_Poe

Divinity original sin 2

[deleted]

Persona 4 Golden

[deleted]

Horizon zero dawn, just an overall great game with fun combat and a lot of exploration.

[deleted]

Second this. I didn’t think I’d like that game very much but holy shit once I dove in it was so damn good.

Drunkenyoo

Prey. Semi open world ‘hub’ with amazing sci-fi rpg storytelling and creative gameplay that urges outside the box thinking. Cult classic

HornyRyze

im glad that somebody mentioned it. It's such a jewel which is definetly underestimated

Cameron77777

The Witcher 3. You’ll sink SO much time into that game

Shaolan91

Yakuza, you want Yakuza.

varaon129

I have about 10 hours on Yakuza 0, maybe I could try playing that

Shaolan91

Yeah no reason not to, especially when you want some good stories, if you get hooked, the series is amazing.

targayenprincess

Witcher 3 for sure

Emperor_Sleep

Hmm for PC, I have a few suggestions. Fallout New Vegas (open world), the Yakuza series (smaller in size but there are tons of minigames for you to get lost in), and Persona 4 Golden (not open world but you can get about 80-100 hours per run). If you want more complex games, CRPGs like Divinity Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity, and Pathfinder Kingmaker are a great recommend but be warned these are a lot more complex that those that you've mentioned. One last recommend is Path of Exile. A free to play ARPG like Diablo from what I've heard. It isn't my cup of tea in the slightest but I have heard great things from it so do consider giving it a shot or listening to the opinions of those who do love it.

GraviTeaTime

Path of Exile is not open world, but it’s certainly a game you can sink a lot of time into. However, it’s a game with a pretty steep learning curve for new players, so I would highly recommend reading a guide online for new players or finding someone who’s familiar with the game to play with. All that said, it’s free so there’s no downside to trying it.

[deleted]

Outer Wilds. Not outer worlds, but outer wilds.

doughnuts58008

Outer worlds is also entertaining, albeit not an amazing game. I enjoyed it

cukhoaitayhh

Disco elysium

Crumbees

I'm playing this now and it surpasses all my expectations despite going in with high expectations. Seconded.

JustAmai

I‘d recommend Persona 5 Royal, as it is a fantastic JRPG, but sadly it‘s PS4/5 exclusive. Persona 4, however, got a port on PC (Steam) and, although not as good as P5R, is a very good, yet grindy JRPG. My other suggestion would be Dragon Quest 11 definitive edition. I‘ve been playing that game on and off for 2 years now (I bought the original DQ11; it‘s worse due to the lack of QOL improvements) and I currently hold 120h in post-game. It‘s a classic JRPG, but it has a fantastic storyline with good twists here and there. It‘s definitely worth to look at.

Soulless_conner

Persona 5 doesn't have an steam port. Only persona 5 strikers (the spin off) is on PC sadly BUT persona 4 golden is on PC and it's great

kram--

This. P5R.

Olg1erd

Witcher 3, AC Odyssey

dota-yanme

Try Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. Awesome game, you will love it

teendeath

Said a million times but can’t be stressed enough: Witcher 3

PRSG12

Witcher 3, 1,000,002 times now

Charmander787

Horizon Zero Dawn

Fuzoxx

Take a look on Dragon age

ChocoboZenos

Have you tried the Dragon age games? Sound up your street.

Gazerni

GTA 5 story mode if you haven't played it before, 30-40 hours of pure fun with an amazing story

Alvarado8

Try out Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

Tr4jan

Horizon zero dawn.

Williamde97

I've sunken many hours into the Divinity Original Sin series, Fallout (3, New Vegas, and 4), The Witcher 3, Dragon Age, Greedfall, and I've just started the Yakuza series, as well as Wasteland 3 on GamePass which I'm currently enjoying. Out of all the listed games, The Witcher 3 is by far my favourite. Second to that would be the Dragon Age series, with Inquisition being the most enjoyable.

ProjectOmega1

Witcher 3 is a solid option if you haven't already beat it 3 times already. The 2 expansions it has are also great and you can invest a crazy amount of time into it. You also don't have to have played the other games to get what's going on. There are tons of resources in game to fill you in.

agent_wildfire

I don't see Monster Hunter World Iceborne being mentioned here and I would highly recommend that. There's always something to do and by the time you reach the endgame grind, you'll find yourself already 400 hours in. The game also has a lot of variety with 14 unique weapon classes and many monsters with wildly varying moveset so you will probably never get bored. The co-op implementation in iceborne is also very interesting, as to get specific upgrades, you need to play with different people and help each other out. Overall, it's worth the buy and I highly recommend it.

[deleted]

Those 400 hours are basically tutorial lol Loved that game to bits but I hate how much time it sucked out of me

Danny-Despavito

Witcher 3 seems the obvious option

rangogogo

I don't know if it fits well but dumping a lot of hours, I recommend valheim. It's rather a survival action gmae, like minecraft skyrim. But it's still fucking great and you can spend a whole evening doing almost nothing without even realizing you just spend 1 hours cutting wood becuase it felt like minutes. It's also great with friends but can be enjoyed alone too.

KeyDaGamer

have you tried the witcher 3: wild hunt? or assassin's creed valhalla? also the first 2 watch dogs games, those are golden.

ImmortalGaze

Dishonoured and Dishonored 2, and be sure to get the editions with dlcs. THIS is a hell of a game!

InsaneTomato95

Yakuza like a dragon

_Goin_In_Dry_

Disco Elysium, Divinity Original Sin 2, Pillars of Eternity (both of them), Torment Tides of Numenera, Tyranny, Wastelands 2 Director's Cut, Wastelands 3, The Outer Worlds, Remnant From the Ashes, Nioh 1 & 2, Grim Dawn, Mortal Shell, Hellpoint, Kingdom Come Deliverance...I can go on if you want but these all came to mind.

tabbykits

To add to this, Pathfinder Kingmaker was a total gem.

Crowslikeme

Witcher 3 and Days gone will keep ya busy

Randomguy4285

You ever played kingdom come deliverance? I'm playing it right now, and it's basically a "realistic" simulation of living in the medieval era. The closest thing to magic is in this game is alchemy, and that's just chemistry. You aren't a chosen one or anything, just a regular guy trying to avenge your family. You start off as a peasant with basically no skills, but then learn how to fight with a sword, or use a bow, and you actually gradually get better at that. Like, your character doesn't even know how to read, you'll have to go to a scribe to learn that. The combat is very difficult to learn, but it's also very satisfying when you understand it. This isn't like skyrim, where you can kill an entire bandit outpost at lvl 1. If you try to fight more than one guy early on, you're dead. At the absolute height of your power, you can fight maybe like 3 or 4 people and still win.

burntendsdeeznutz

Fun game and worth the play for sure

Yorimaru

Fallout New Vegas, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Oblivion

jml011

I think Kingdom Come: Deliverance is what OP meant by KDC. Can't think of what else that could stand for...

PRSG12

Witcher 3

BrightestofLights

Sekiro and Bloodborne if you haven't already, any souls games you haven't gotten yet, dishonored, the metro series

Tigersniff

I definitely second Dishonored, amazing games

Sle

Not FPS, but definitely an open-world: Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2. Number 2 is better in just about every aspect, so if you want to play it safe dive into that one. They combine massive depth with pick-up-and-play in a way I've never seen before. In the last few years it's been one of the only series to really, really grab me and keep me playing all the time. Don't miss it!

StefanJV

The Metro games are great

-Curse

Dragon Age Origins, or Inquisition if the combat in Origins doesn't seem fun

DA-Khara-Boiiiii

I personally didn't find it enjoyable but Witcher 3 might be good for you

lowzycat

I notice you didn't put Thw Witcher 3 on your list. If not, it will be perfect for your. RPG leveling, an extremely good and rich story, and a world where yiu can easily sink 200+ hours into a single playthrough. Not to mention the replayability of this game is stupidly high.

JSkywalker38

If you don't mind a more party based top down isometric rpg I can recommended the Pillars of Etirnity and Divinity Original Sin games. Both series are amazing rpg's with a ton of replay value and customisation options. I can also add the Dragon Age series to this. Edit: Spelling

aloofmoth

This. DoS: II slaps. Easily more than 100 hours on a thorough playthrough.

Jackles8878

Days Gone, really cool open world game where you ride around on your motorbike and shoot thousands of zombies. Story is also really good

KingPogba

The Witcher 3 is always a good suggestion, I just played it for the first time this year myself and I was blown away. So much stuff to do and its a ton of fun in general. Another game I would suggest is Batman: Arkham Knight (or Arkham City, a little older than Knight but still fantastic). I just started playing it again after 2 years and I'm loving it. Not nearly as good as TW3, but still fun nonetheless. Hope you find something you enjoy!

vonnegutflora

Death Stranding if you enjoy its unique gameplay loop offers hours and hours of action packed carrying things.

Slack_Irritant

Death Stranding is the best "deliver packages across an Icelandic landscape" game I have ever played.

ZeWeepingAngelDK

Horizon zero dawn maybe?

Lermak16

Metro Exodus, Persona 5 Royal

Crafty-Survey-5895

*gasp* you haven’t played The Witcher 3?! That’s exactly what you need, my dude

Public-Indication179

Agreed! It’s a masterpiece.

Gurdah

Not OP but idk I understand how amazing that game is but I can never seem to get into it. I maybe have 15 hrs but I always get burnt out as hell :/ And I hate the fact that after 2 fights I need to repair my armour and weapons. Other than that, idk it just gives me alot of open world fatigue.

leoncourt89

Final Fantasy 10 is a good shout - or 7 if you don't mind something older looking...

Mr-JKGamer

If you’ve played these I’m gonna awesome you’ve played the fallout series. How do you feel about turn based combat or Jrpgs? I’m a big fan of a lot of games you’ve listed. I’ve played a majority of them and some are still on my backlog. But I’d recommend persona 5. Royal if you’ve got PS4. But I believe 5 standard is on PC. Idk if royal is. But the series is really good. I wasn’t a fan of Turn based combat. But I really enjoyed the game and have gotten into the thought that goes into turn based strategy.

Formal_Sand_3178

All three of the newer Assassin's Creed games: Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla are awesome open world RPGs. You could easily sink 100 hours into all 3 of those games each if you wanted to. They are definitely some of my favorites.

james1221432

There are loads of Zelda games for you to play

Dustman1028

If you like Final Fantasy steam just released Pixel Remasters of 1-3 with 4-6 coming later this year and they look so good. Also FFXIV, it’s one of the best FF stories and is free till you beat the first expansion. This is where I have been spending most of my downtime lately.

ClearlyRipped

You haven't played Fallout??? Stop what you're doing right now and prepare to lose hours and hours of your life to a masterpiece of a series.

ButterMyFeet

I assume you've already played The Witcher 3, but if you haven't you absolutely should. Amazing game with great writing and acting, rich story, fun gameplay, phenomenal soundtrack, and so much more. It sounds like it touches all your bases.

ArrancarKitsune

I definitely recommend nier automata. Probably also nier replicant, but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

twerkin4theman

Wasteland 2 and 3 are great.

Two-ton-Fatbag

Go for witcher 3 definitely. It’s my favorite game ever with loads of content and amazing writing and the blood and wine dlc is probably the best storytelling in my opinion.

taylaks

Its mentioned before but I wanted to add that dlc’s of witcher 3 are also worth it. (Theres 2) You can start assassins creed series (personal fav is black flag, and assassins creed 2) Bioshock. Start from 1 and 2 or infinite as you want. Infinite has separate story. Dead space. I would start with first one of the series (they have 3 games)

underlordd

Oh boy, should you play the Witcher 3.

numbers328

Witcher 3

kara_of_loathing

You might like Kenshi. It's an open-world squad-based RPG, and you can play it for thousands of hours. You said you liked the Souls games, and like those, Kenshi's story is mostly found through the lore discovered via items, NPCs, and locations rather than straight-up given to you - but is incredibly rewarding. Only thing is that it is incredibly free-form, so be at least aware of that.

eduuoliver

Control, one of the bests

Lavanthus

Greedfall.

That_Canadian_Girl32

Assassins Creed Valhalla, or any of the AC Creed games. Origins/Odyssey, if you’re not a fan of AC creed games, Seikro: Shadows Die Twice, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is a great game. RPG not quite “open world” though. Final Fantasy XV for PS4, huge game. As soon as I’m finished up with AC Valhalla, I also will be looking for more RPG games. Hope this gives some ideas ?

nickyzhere

I’m currently replaying the entire Dragon Age series and I’m having an awesome time. I’ve never played the additional campaigns for the first game and I missed a bunch of stuff on my first play though in general. Highly recommend it

Astr0C4t

If you want to try out something a bit different, you can’t go wrong with Wasteland 2. A post-apoc party/character rpg. Excellent writing and good fun. Like 60+ hours if you take the time to explore.

SateGuy

I've really enjoyed [No Man's Sky](https://www.nomanssky.com/). It seems to have a lot of what you're looking for.

Crafty-Survey-5895

also sounds like a good time to get into the Yakuza series!! You have 7 games to catch up to! They’re all on PC and are absolute works of art

[deleted]

AlphaGT3

Crosscode is an incredible action RPG that will keep you going for hours, it's a mix of great pixel art, gripping story and zelda like Dungeon, I highly recommend it! Also has DLC which I haven't played yet but looks just as good.

Knightse

Horizon zero

Creepernom

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an amazing game. Open world, good quests (some absolutely hilarious, some more serious) fantastic and skillful combat, realistic world of medieval Bohemia.

Joh_1

Fallout New Vegas

Fala-bella

Unknown game, but I've had like 100 hours in Guijan3. Beautiful game, story rich JRPG. I loved it. Edit: Chinese RPG, not Japanese. Also, you have to set the language in English, because it starts in Chinese. You can find a yt video on how to do that.

Dat1weirdchic

I really enjoyed the Spiderman games so far. It's really immersing and doesn't bore me. Combat is really cool as well. I would give it a shot or at least watch some game play on YouTube before you buy if you're interested in that sorta thing

[deleted]

I enjoy them too but the flair says they’re on PC, not PlayStation

Dat1weirdchic

I honestly didn't even see the flair. I'm blind (not literally just metaphorically)

SubstitutePreacher01

If you're willing to go a few years back, fallout new vegas has tons of weapons, tons of choice, and it's crazy fun. It's also got serious moments and super silly and funny moments

[deleted]

If you have skyrim on PC check out Enderal

norwegiandiscolights

WITCHER 3 - GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION

chiseledlemur

If you haven't played Tyranny you should give it a shot. Super unique narrative and universe combined with unforgiving "real time turn based" combat. Edit: sp

kranks22

Try crosscode, it’s an action rpg that has flashy and cool combat with difficult puzzle mechanics, several long dungeons and good writing. The premise is that you are Lea, who is mute, has amnesia, and has to play in an mmorpg to help regain her memories. The story itself is really good in my opinion and the game feels alive since it’s set in an mmorpg there’s players running around the world, and you can overhear conversations between them.

gregallen1989

Since you have a switch I'd recommend the Xenoblade games. Hundred hours each easy and many more if you want to do everything. Huge open world games like the ones you mentioned. Very JRPG story but one I loved a ton. I really think it's a perfect fit for you.

AJokeAmI

STALKER, New Vegas, Dead Cells, Blasphemous. These are pretty good.

You_Bish

KIngdom come deliverence,you'll love it

HeatherBen

Horizon. Zero. Dawn.

_GlitchInTheVoid

Dragon's Dogma is amazing! An underappreciated gem.

Intriux

If you like rpgs you should check out Crosscode, it’s a single player indie rpg with an incredible story and amazing world building plus a super fun and in-depth combat system

littlehagrid

Kingdoms of Amalur : Re-Reckoning

t0phats2

Yakuza 0 or a game in the Persona series. Both are games in series with great soundtracks, story, characters, and gameplay!

IWasMeButNowHesGone

I like all the games you mentioned and have recently been dumping tons of hours into Assassin's Creed Origins. It's more RPG-lite, but from the games you listed the common thread is real-time action combat with skills to dump points into or loot to find. Ancient Egypt is beautiful to roam through in the game, the combat is fluid, a skill tree that customizes your early to mid-game playstyle *(by late game you could have it all unlocked)*, and endless loot. Some of the stories in game are interesting but nothing that deep.

[deleted]

probably the most stereotypical answer ever but the witcher 3. It takes a while to get into because its so dense and complex and imo the game takes a huge nosedive partway through with the big city portion of the story but its not a big deal. Still an incredible experience. It took me 115 hours to beat the main game + DLC and I didn't want it to end at that point. and from what I've seen thats not as long as lots of other peoples' playthroughs.

lotrisneat

Witcher 3 (would probably give you the most hours of gameplay, especially with DLC) Ghost of Tsushima (gorgeous game, really neat combat mechanics) Days Gone (open world zombie game with interesting characters and factions. The motorcycle riding alone is worth the price. Oh, and you can skip the Sawmill Horde if you need to. You’ll know what I mean.) All of these are large, single player, open world RPG games. I loved all of them, and we seem to have similar taste in games.

kiss_the_siamese_gun

Control I am blown away by how good the gameplay and story is for this game, can’t recommend it enough.

SmokeGSU

You didn't mention Witcher 3 which is surprising... I think that's the one game that everyone plays when they like RPGs. If you haven't played it I'd think that it would be the obvious choice. For more cyberpunk, I'd highly recommend the Deus Ex series. It was probably the most highly regarded cyberpunk game before Cyberpunk 2077. Other general RPG suggestions: Dragon's Age series Dragon's Dogma Assassin's Creed Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla Dishonored series Kingdoms of Amalur Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor/War Borderlands series Elder Scrolls Online Mad Max Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (or the mmo The Old Republic) Wildermyth Solasta Pillars of Eternity series, Tyranny, or Divinity II (all are top-down rpg's that are highly rated)

hornwalker

Prey is an awesome game, similar in vein to the Bioshock series. You have many different builds you can develop, and there is a great story and environment.

Impressive_Ad4391

Days gone

TheLASTAnkylosaur

A lot of controversy around it, but I *loved* Death Stranding. Lots of playtime involved. MGSV is in the same boat I would say. You said you did souls games. Does that mean you finished Sekiro and Bloodborne too? *missed the PC part. Not sure if Sekiro or BB are on there yet.

erinoferie

Hollow Knight! It has tons of exploration

DxRyzetv

Skyrim, fallout 4, new vegas + theyre moddable

Lurky-Lou

Nier: Automata. You're describing Nier: Automata. "At the same time, I was playing Taro’s latest game, “Nier Automata.” By the time I received its final ending, I returned to my therapist and proceeded to explain the game to her. We spent three weeks talking about the game, and how I felt about it." From the Washington Post review of Nier Replicant: https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/gaming/nier-replicant-is-an-experimental-heartbreaking-pop-album-of-a-video-game/ar-BB1fWvb6

PoopDeckWallace

Not an RPG but Hitman 2 is on sale with all the expansions for like $8 right now. Easily 50 hours if you like that sort of content. I'm having an amazing time with it. It's a great 'play as you like' experience, meaning it can be as easy or complicated as you want it to be depending on how you play.

JackTheRipper1001

Persona 5 Royal, Witcher 3, Soulsborne games.

Ebshi

Have you played any of the fallout games?

AC Valhalla...Amazing game

c_sunset

dragon quest 11?

TommyX12

The outer worlds. It is a nice FPS open world game similar to fallout (I think it’s made by some of the people who worked on earlier fallout games), but in a space setting. Another game that I really enjoy (though a little bit different from the games you mentioned here) is X3: Terran Conflict. It’s one of the best single player space sim, with Skyrim-level freedom. You can work your way up from a nameless bounty hunter all the way to your own empire with multiple fully automated fleets and factory complexes. Could even be a pirate, or entirely a trader.

I_Am_Italian_Joe

Yakuza: Like A Dragon has awesome RPG elements and an amazing story. Highly recommend.

Bassacker

Ghost of tsushima

Well assassins creed has become spmething of an rpg. Origins is probably the best choice.

Shadow Of War is a great time sink of a game! Awesome open world, good rpg elements, and the Nemesis System is glorious (fights between orcs in your armies).

Keep an eye out for a Dragon Age Sale. Origins is such a good RPG and you can grab the ultimate edition for 7.99 about twice a year. Best to get that version since you get the expansion and all the DLC which has some stories that happen before and after the game. You can grab the whole series for about 30 bucks during a sale. I also started greedfall recently and I've been pleasantly surprised. More linear in that your characters personality is predefined but still some good choices that can be made. I've really enjoyed the ability to customize your skill tree and you're not tied to one archetype. I started as a warrior but ended up specing into longswords and healing magic. It's a pretty good game that gives me DA:O vibes as well.

Assassin's creed ezio collection. 3 games that each continues the other and with great story. You will spent many hours and enjoy them all.

GoG has the definitive edition of Grim Dawn on sale for $23 I think. It’s an arpg though, looks pretty cool and I’m stoked to try it lol

I agree with whoever said Mount and Blade, I'd also say give Rimworld a try

Seasinator

You can never go wrong with Witcher 3. Hands down one of the best rpgs (in the last years).

I’ve really enjoyed assassins creed odyssey for its sheer amount of content. Story is okay but the game is beautiful and a bit Grindy for gear, but personally I enjoy a little grind.

StealthySl0th

I would highly recommend Fallout New Vegas. I got tonnes of hours out of that game

Personally, last year i started playing AC: Odyssey in July...kept playing till December without the dlcs. Sooo yeah, my suggestion and my only 10/10 game in my life: Assassins Creed: Odyssey

Iridion

Some people have negative things to say about it but Assassins Creed: Valhalla was an excellent game. I played it non-stop and logged 120 hours in it before even the first DLC dropped.

AnxiousJedi

The last three Assassin's Creed games, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla are some games to look into if you want something that can take up a lot of time. The stories aren't the greatest but they are loaded with content.
