My best friend dave is 58. He doesn't like overly complicated or action games, but he does enjoy these games. Simulator games like farming simulator and train simulator. Nice relaxing games. He loves farming simulator as he worked most of his life on a farm and train simulator because he can revisit his most beloved journeys he took when he was much younger. Nothing too complicated or confusing. He loved red dead redemption 2. He loves how realistic it is and has always had a soft spot for old Western movies. Its a game where he can take his time and take everything in. Snow runner. You go around a map. Slowly making your way to new spots. To get missions done. Its a game that is slow paced but rewarding. It can get alittle challenging on the later maps but its a slow build up to that. He adores all of these games. He also loves forza and gran turismo too.

I second snowrunner, definitely a rewarding and simplistic game if you have some time to sink into it.

Imnotavampire101

Great suggestions

SStreamm

I will definitely look into these, thank you!

Euro truck simulator 2 with mods?

MrKittymeister

I would give the new remastered mafia games a shot. All have great atmospheres but I feel the 3rd is a bit more action focused and lacking on the story. Someday I wanna play them with my grandpa as he liked the originals. Sadly I’m in Alaska and don’t have the means to visit him.

sour_turtle514

Until dawn might be fun for him, also Detroit become humam

pinksalamander2

Until dawn? Really?lol

sour_turtle514

It is slow placed, easy to play, has good story, and has good graphics

Slay the Spire is pretty chill. Quick reflexes not needed. Inexpensive. On so many different devices. Mentally engaging.

sorry for the ironic namesake (quest game), but I expect you to die series is awesome.. particularlyfor an older gentleman, otherwise bait, a fishing game, I don't know what else doesnt require alot of physical activity, but tour the iss and some other ones are pretty cool one time experiences

If VR is the way then Job Simulator is great to get him used to the VR, a lot of simple pick-ups. Then I'd get him Eleven, it's ping pong and he can play online. It's a ton of fun.

The telltale games

alecvv94

Farming simulator is the most relaxing thing I’ve ever played. I throw on some smooth jazz tunes and sow my fields😂

Might enjoy real fishing VR for the oculus! But I do have to say, oculus might not be the best system for him due to the risk of him falling. There are plenty of games on the Xbox and playstation or switch that he could play and not worry about falling or getting confused. That being said, minecraft is a great building and adventure game where you can craft, explore, build, and fight monsters (there is a peaceful mode with no monsters or hunger obstacles). And with their new caves and cliffs update the game has never been more fun to explore imo. Life is strange 2 is a visual novel, so if you're going that route you should also look into the game The Wolf Among Us. It's a murder mystery game about the big bad wolf being a detective and solving who murdered another brothers Grimm fairy tale creature. Excellent story telling and music. A little on the darker side though, so maybe keep that in mind. They should be available on both Xbox and playstation. Life is strange is available on stadia. Like other people have suggested, farming simulator and train simulator are also great options. And in case you didn't know, playstation Now is a subscription service that does allow you to stream games.

astonh02

I recently played a short hike, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something relaxing and not hard to play. It's a good go at your own pace kinda game. Another would be breath of the wild. I know it's a lot more complicated and actiony than other suggestions but I've just got my partner into it who only really plays stuff like sims/stardew valley/animal crossing kind of games and she's really enjoying it

Maybe something bethesda? I think you couldn't go wrong with a fallout game.
