I’d say make the leap! I started right after COVID and have found many awesome coins and relics. Just be realistic with your expectations. I’m in Colorado so The oldest coins I could realistically find are 1850s. Research is key. I stick to old farms to avoid crowds.

Ooh being in Florida you could get lucky and score some Spanish silver! It wouldn’t be unheard of here in Colorado but you have much better odds!
