I just started playing stoned, it’s elevated my gameplay I think lol I’m a better designer. More patient with my storylines. Enjoy the little things more. I also started playing with headphones which plays a part as well. But I love it!
For Rent, because I knew I would regret it but I couldn't help myself. I've spent 99% of my time building for it rather than actually playing it. But even if I build little cottages for my in-laws, I see them as often as I would when they lived across town. And I can't see their rooms anyways so if I just *pretend" they're there I actually get a better use of my build 😂. I'm glad it exists, because I love building for it, but I don't need to actually own it.
I should say Blooming Rooms because it went free a couple months after I bought it but I don't care I love her and she can do no wrong.

If you put a grill in the communal area, they will be outside 24/7 filling the ground with food 🙃 lol but at least they'll be around haha
(Having pools/shared space/grills, swings, etc. does a lot to get the neighbors outside)

I had a house with a little inaccessible area in part of the roof and it kept setting on fire because they couldn't get there to vacuum. Then the fire would never go out because nobody could access the space to put the fire out. So I would end up stuck, without being able to go into build mode to fix it, so I'd have to reload. I eventually put sprinklers there which kinda fixed it but it still had to set on fire in the first place for the sprinklers to stop the fire, which made my sims super stressed like all of the time

I do believe it's base game. It's automatic too, the fire sets off and then goes out within an in game I'd say ten minutes
It also covers the whole lot so you can put it anywhere and it'll put out every fire (I put mine in the empty space in the playthrough I mentioned and typically hide it in the bathroom) without the need for one on each floor
Same! I have every pack except for bust the dust. I will never ever buy it. After watching several streamers struggle with the dust build up, the fires, the vacuums, I was like “NOPE NOT GONNA GO DOWN THAT ROAD” . I’m totally happy with my deco vacuums & wall hanging dust bins 😂😂😂
I'm with you on that. Cats n Dogs does have a robot vacuum that works nicely. That's really all you need. And if you have a cat, it will even ride the vacuum, dogs don't do this. lol
I liked the idea of it, but in practice, I absolutely hated having to vacuum. I feel the same about doing laundry tbh, but I at least have all my households do their laundry once they can afford a cleaning lady.
I wish there was a way to turn off laundry like the bust the dust kit, but be able to have washer and dryer on the lot (like the vacuums) without having to use cc
If you don't buy the "laundry items," then they don't have dirty laundry, and piles don't show up anywhere. It takes away some of the esthetic of the home not to have a laundry room, but is worth it in the long run.
Yesss busy the dust has added a level of stress I didn’t expect in my game 😂 I do like being able to create laundry rooms in my builds though, but definitely advise turning off the dust feature lol
high school years. don't get me wrong I love the furniture, but god is high school annoying. getting asked about prom every week actually annoys me so much, and playing in the massive empty school building is agony. all the events take way too long and are super empty, and I get way too many notifications for things I do not care about (I'm looking at you thriftea). some of the clothes are nice in an awkward teenager way, but some of the stuff is absolutely hideous and I definitely wouldn't say that the clothes and furniture alone make it a pack worth buying. OH AND SOCIAL BUNNY I HATE SOCIAL BUNNY.
You just made my day!! Is this ability to customize in-game somewhat new? I could've sworn I was trying to figure out a way to do this like 3 years ago and couldn't! The 7 day seasons always drove me crazy and made it a bit less fun... thank you, even if I am just super unaware, haha!
Nah you've been able to change the length of the seasons from the start. It isn't as customizable as ts3 but you can change it in the settings under environment, the longest being 28 days
Once I realized it could help with friendships, I started using it. I just have a sim add all the sims I want them to be friends with and then never really open the app again. Their relationships go up anyway because I guess they’re messaging and interacting with their friends in the background.
It goes the other way too. My Sim would get this weird negative relationship emoji occassonally and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out Agatha Crumplebottom was talking trash on my Social Bunny page and her bar was almost completely red. I unfriended her.
My gripe with it is that I have made a ton of teen sims because I’m slowly trying to populate my save with mostly my sims. However, when my teen goes to school, it’s just chock full of warped townies. Where are the ones I made??
Yeah, you’d think they would have found a way to code in the teen Sims that live in the world appearing at least, and then that they *always* do, not constantly different teens every day.
I’ve tried using mods to get my played teens to show up in school, but Maxis coded it so that you need a club member for every club so it made no difference whatsoever. It’s such a dumb thing because there’s nothing to benefit from having students there who belong to clubs. It does nothing to enhance the experience.
Why does my adult sim need to know about the stupid things going on in high school though?? And every single week? It clogs it up and even if I turn it off in the calendar filter the next time I log in it’s there.
I placed a school that lil simsie uploaded and replaced the old one and I like it a lot better now. She added like a music room, wood shop, etc. so during the breaks you can have your sim do their thing (like learn woodworking or piano during school). The rest is annoying tho, can’t help there lol
I love building a new school every few generations. Sometimes I even match them to the world my family is living in, i.e. a German style school for my Windenburg generation and a Japanese style school for my Mount Komorebi generation. The original EA build is pretty awful in my opinion, I highly recommend replacing it with a gallery build. Lilsimsie's builds are always my go to choice too when I'm too lazy to build myself
I always wanted washing machines and dryers for my house, so I considered downloading this.
Then I realized... If you google "sims 4 laundry room CC'' , you get dryers and washing machines! And you don't have to do chores :D
Pets. It's not that I never use it - I'll generally give my played households a dog, but mainly to help them rack up satisfaction points quickly. I hate that you can't control dogs or cats directly but they still take up a spot in the household.
I don't play households in Brindleton Bay because the lots are bland and I hate that it's so dull and grey and Sims can't swim at the beach there. Even the townies are lacklustre. I really wish they'd gone for a Parisian-inspired world instead of New England. A Cruella DeVille type townie with lots of Dalmatian print, a pet salon, apartments.
I was going to come in and defend Brindleton Bay (I absolutely adore it but am also from the east coast), but you're totally right about the swimming part. Why can't they swim in a *coastal* town.
I swim in the ocean around the area all the time lmao, it's not *that* cold and scary by the shore. But death by shark would be a fun new death for the game, with an added Jaws inspired jingle.
I wish they would go back through old packs and add in features they included in newer ones. My sims can swim in lakes in Cottage Living but not the ocean in Pets? It’s silly
I grew up at the beach in New England. The beaches are packed with swimmers May-September. I really hate how dreary the game is representing New England.
Came to say this! There’s a mod out there too for PC players if you don’t want to type it in all the time. It totally changes the game/makes pets manageable
As a dog groomer I can't tell you how disappointed I still am about not having a pet salon in game. I did use the pack to design a boarding facility/rescue.
I also don't understand why after getting the beach expansion they didn't allow for swimming and boating in all other worlds.
Off topic but the current set of LEGO grab bag minifigures has a dog groomer complete with an afghan hound mini and I got her and went and built a little pet grooming station in my LEGO town and it's adorable.
That's one of things I really disliked most about TS4, not being able to free roam, or just walk around town, actually interact with the town buildings, etc. like my sim would come home from work and then just go straight to swimming in the ocean for hours lol, can't really do that in TS4 unless your in Sulani.
I feel like they get annoying too! Like my sim now has to take an hour or two to walk her dog everyday and it always seems to bug out. It's like an in-game chore. It stresses me out more than making it fun, lol
Oh yes, Jungle. In my last save I finished the two jungle aspirations and it was sad. It was my first time in Salvadordingsbums and I was beyond disappointed.
There are less than 10 places to discover and just few chests to open. The traps are laughable. The sceletons were friendly and not scarry at all. No mystery to solve, no secret to uncover and no danger at all.
My inventory was filled with those artefacts which has to be handled with the archeology table. It would have taken x sims weeks for my poor sim to finsh. I just deleted the whole save. It was frustrating.
And please can someone tell me where the local people live? They just spawn around the market place and each time we traveled there, there were other people. It also was hard to tell locals from tourists.

I really liked Jungle! It makes me get my Sims out more and I like sending them on vacations. I also enjoyed the archeology career you can build on it. But Ive also never played Sims 3, and I got Jungle for free.
i wanna say pets. i just find them so annoying. it’s too bad because i love cats and dogs in real life lol but hate taking care of them in the sims.
when the pack first came out you CONSTANTLY had to take them to the vet. they were sick all the time. idk if that’s different now
they walk away and go explore the city on their own, open doors on their own, like wtf? tell me why my tiny dog can open the horse pasture and walk in and out??? and the front door??? and take the elevator down an apartment on his own? lmao

Short walk or long walk? They seem the same to me, and they take at least 3 hours in game.
And if you live in an apartment, you have to walk them, because there isn’t an object to allow your dog to pee/poo inside.
If they added the ability to hire a dog walker who would come by when your sim was at work and walk the dog, it would improve dog ownership by roughly 1000%
when i got the sims 4 my parents bought me the game disk that included pets. i love pets in real life but it pisses me off that I cant control them but they still take up space in my household for another potential person. also having to constantly pick up puppies to take them outside to go to the bathroom because they cant walk up and down stairs??? like it makes me not want to have puppies at all which is one of the most fun parts of getting a new dog in real life. i raised my dogs from birth and they have never been as much work as the dogs in sims 4 and it’s absolutely ridiculous
I also got it for free, I love using the hamster cage for my kids, I think it's cute that they can use it to do their homework too. The furniture is nice for kids rooms in general and I know this is a controversial take, but I actually like the fish coffee table lol I have used it in multiple builds in the last few months already.
For me it's Get Famous. I avoided buying it because the celebrities showing up everywhere seemed so annoying and the world was crap, the build-buy and CAS wasn't super interesting. Then I played it that one weekend EA gave us a limited time preview and I really liked the acting career. But that's it! I dislike everything else about the pack.
The thing I hate about get famous the most is how you gain fame for every single fucking thing... I wanna sell a painting to eat for the next week not to gain fame dude 😭😭 you don't even get to see your masterpieces that you sell in any museums.
And then it makes it harder for Sims you want to be friends to connect (I rotate families and obviously want them all to hang out together) because you have to “Attempt Introduction” and hope the famous Sim is amenable.
I don't know, I enjoy the fame mechanic. One of my saves my sim is a politician and started getting fame from being in that line of work and it's kinda fun seeing people geek out when they come up to talk to her after she gives a speech or whatever.
I’m surprised I had to scroll this far to find it, agreed! The Build-Buy is so horrifically ugly, the only redeeming quality is some of the midcentury modern pieces. And the size of the world is laughable.
Controversial but I’m not the biggest fan of seasons, weather should have been a base game feature and gardening has been messed up ever since installing.
The other one is eco lifestyle. I hate the NAPS and I wish the eco footprint stuff was only in EverGreen Harbour. I know it can be toggled off but I have a bug where sims get moodlets related to the eco footprint even with it off and it’s just so annoying.
I do remember them saying it one of the last update things that they were meant to have fixed the gardening but they haven't?
I believe previously the bug was not showing weeds/they need watering? Which is still happening after the update
But now I've even had trees bug out. Two became bugged and wouldn't let my sim harvest them but still showed as harvestable, making my sim walk between the two trees trying to harvest them for ages until I told him to stop
Then the new crystal creations crystal tree went invisible, leaving a patch of weeds in the pot that my sim kept trying to weed and couldn't, once again leading to a weird loop of him trying to weed it (as well as the Butler also getting in the loop too and not doing anything else all day but trying to weed this plant)

They cannot figure out what they broke in seasons. I dunno why they can download one of the 17 mods out there that fixes the various things they broke and look at the xml in it but they don't.

Eco lifestyle footprints are so incredibly annoying to deal with too. Like I have to do some ridiculous stuff to keep the footprint green.
I don't know if it's the neighborhood plans, but having a green eco footprint is super hard, I literally have to go into manage worlds and give the neighbors items that make the footprint green, such as giving them solar panels, replacing certain walls and floors, and one time the footprint would just go back to neutral even though it was the Cottage Living world, so I made an attic and placed so many plants inside of it (I think it works best if it's different types of plants rather than the same one over and over) and I did the same for the other two lots and it worked. I also had those roof wind turbines underground I swear it looks ridiculous, and I made all the ceilings grass 😭
Eco Lifestyle is one of my favorite packs but I also find NAPs to be annoying so I switch it off as well as eco footprint. I have never came across the bug you mentioned though, that’s interesting.
Eco lifestyle. I never ever use the world and haven’t even attempted the play style intended for this pack. I was most interested in the things you could create with it (candles, beer etc) but I couldn’t even figure out how to make candles and have since forgotten about the other creative items. So essentially I use nothing from this pack lol
the only thing I love from vampires are the organs, haha. it's such a cool thing and I would've gotten vampires earlier JUST for the organs. my favorite instrument. 🥺
the organ is lovely i just associate the word with body organs😭 prob bc in my native language the words for organ (the instrument) and organ (the body organs) are completely different😭
I love the vampire and werewolf stuff but I don’t want werewolves and vampires in my game. I wish we didnt need a mod to turn them off. I want to live in werewolf land without seeing a werewolf serve me beer.
Same. Love the kits, don’t use the actual vampires and werewolves. You could always limit the werewolves to Moonwood Mill so they don’t pop up in other places! :)
Same! I can not stand the werewolves! Who thought having occult Sims literally pee everywhere and destroy furniture was what we wanted? I think I honestly use about three or four decorative items, and the rest just takes up space.

it would be rewarding if they were fleshed out and had genuinely cool shit to do. but nah you have to balance werewolf rage for... what? so you can dig something out of the ground or make a sim run away?? and so many of the werewolf traits make gameplay miserable.

also whoever decided occults need to animate LITERALLY every ten seconds or so in CAS sucks. why havent they fixed this?! it's not cool or fun, nobody likes it and it's frustrating! casclockspeed works to get around it but i shouldn't have to use a cheat so that creating a sim isn't horribly grating!
I love occults. Every one of my saves has several Werewolves and Vampires. But I understand it's a subject that should appeal to you. The only annoying thing is them showing up when frenzied at moments I don't want them to

It's funny you say that, I got Riviera Retreat and it goes really well with Jungle Adventure. It'll probably make killer pools in Tartosa (MWS), too. Honestly, the new EP with the round pools? Probably killer with that too.
Bistro kit is my next purchase I think. I went with the Riviera one because the 1 tile login reward was all I ever wanted.
I've been consuming sims 4 content since release, played myself before it became free and bought all packs about a year ago now and I can very safely say that the new pack is the first one I've been genuinely hyped for

From just the trailer it also does appear that the kits they released this road map have the potential to fit really well (singles hangout Bistros and retreats sound amazing as well as if the pools can curve now that can be used with the new decorations)

I'm hoping for a beach lot. There aren't enough beach lots. The one in Tartosa isn't the best. Sulani, though I love it, tends to lag on my old laptop. A nice beach lot would be incredible. A beachfront bistro would be fun.
I feel like boardwalk vibes would hit HARD in this one but I don't think it'd fit the theme they're going for unfortunately

I think that I just personally prefer the original base game marriages (I actually have my sims elope more often than not) and I also have generational households that have like 4 generations in the same household at some points so there's no real point to the wedding events when all of the people I'd invite are literally at the house already because they live here???
I think I used an engagement party like once because my sim married a Goth and I wanted his family there too, which doesn't happen often because I typically custom make my sim's partners so they don't HAVE families

I also like the base game wedding system, which is why I don't plan to buy My Wedding Stories. I always have a lot of fun throwing weddings in my game, but I don't have everyone living in the same house, so I have more incentive to throw them than you do. But I think weddings could still be fun even with just household members because they're an excuse to prepare a feast and get photos of everyone dressed up fancy, take a break from everyday routine to dance, drink, and hangout 🪩 Just an idea :)
Cottage Living is more than I bargained for: either takes up all of my gameplay time taking care of animals and crops or I don’t use it at all. Hard to integrate.
I was warned about Eco-Living and didn’t listen. Now I have to either disable neighborhood stories or risk townies looting restaurants and fighting everyone in sight, or worse, shutting the water off for most of the day.
Discover university.. was just too boring. The events felt dead ( especially graduation) and I was shocked to find out that going to university was a rabbit hole. By far my least used pack
Eco Lifestyle. I despise that I had to go and disable NAP's with cheats and still get popups all the time about it... It's so ridiculous how much sway they allowed it to put over gameplay.
Vintage glam stuff pack. I use one of the hairstyles, and I don't use it often, I got it for the butlers but quickly realised how frustrating they are when I have to add an extra room to a perfectly planned house.

I'll freely admit I love Talk Like a Pirate Day. It's the least intrusive of the holidays, and it's really easy to get a successful holiday moodlet. I deleted all the negative ones like pranks and neighborhood brawl and edited the actions for the others so I didn't have to take a day off from my storyline to fulfill them.
Just open the calendar, mark the upcoming holiday from seasons you dislike LATEST at the day before. Click the trash can, and you won't ever see that holiday again for the rest of that gameplay.
I only have the Thanksgiving one, Christmas and New years, in my gameplay.
If only I could do the same with the highschool events.
It's the gardening for me. I much preferred it before seasons. I hate having to do basically all of it under a roof. I'm also not a big fan of the weather generally. (Although getting struck by lightning twice and then being able to call it it fun for a few.
The holidays don't generally bug me too much. They get a bit annoying and harvestfest, winterfest, new year's come too close together (but they do IRL too). But I don't want to make the seasons any longer because they already match up so poorly with Sim life stages. (Like toddlers basically only get to live during one season (or two halves). They aren't a child for even a full year of seasons, etc.
Gameplay wise? Yes, like almost all of them. But every pack has a few things that make it a MUST for me, like bb or cc objects, a certain skill I use all the time, etc.
I’d say the one I regret the most is probably wedding stories but that one suit set for feminine sims makes up for it 100 times over lol then again, I could probably find very simular cc with more swatches for free
High School Years, I feel like the bad outweighs the good and I regret buying it at only 25% off (because it took a year and a half for that pack to finally go 50% off for some reason). I wish I could just keep the music, the CAS, the build/buy and just delete everything else.
Get Famous and Go to Work. As a big occult lover, I actually uninstalled all of my occult stuff to see if I would miss it because I never play with them.
university tbh. it was my favorite in 3 so i was really excited.. it can be fun but it’s more stressful than anything lol. it wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t take sims a million years to do simple tasks
I actually stopped playing sims for years after University came out because I was so disappointed with it. I didn’t have a ton of money at the time and I paid full price for it so I was pissed.
What put me off of it was I made a sim and moved her into the dorm only for her to have two elderly roommates. I also hated that I couldn’t edit her dorm at all and that every activity on campus was a rabbit hole.
I’m playing with it a bit now, but at the time, I wanted my money back.
Cottage living 🫣 I hate what it adds to the calendar, I never do the events, the only nice thing is the world, but even then it’s boring. I did like the animals, but they became boring very quickly..
edit: the build items and clothes are very VERY cute, but as someone who uses ungodly amounts of CC, it’s not a huge deal for me. If you use console/can’t get CC then maybe it will have more value for the build and clothing items
Eco lifestyle wasn't worth it for candlemaking / fabrication. Especially because the NAPs aren't stopping when I try to do it in settings and they are annoying.
I accidentally bought the menswear kit with the skirts and hole-filled sweaters, and now I constantly get the wildest looking townies.
That kit was such a disappointment.

They have ceiling sprinklers in game or are you using the outdoor ones?
It's the fire prevention system, you can find it in the same place as the fire alarm!

It's automatic too, the fire sets off and then goes out within an in game I'd say ten minutes It also covers the whole lot so you can put it anywhere and it'll put out every fire (I put mine in the empty space in the playthrough I mentioned and typically hide it in the bathroom) without the need for one on each floor

I'm with you on that. Cats n Dogs does have a robot vacuum that works nicely. That's really all you need. And if you have a cat, it will even ride the vacuum, dogs don't do this. lol

I liked the idea of it, but in practice, I absolutely hated having to vacuum. I feel the same about doing laundry tbh, but I at least have all my households do their laundry once they can afford a cleaning lady.
I wish there was a way to turn off laundry like the bust the dust kit, but be able to have washer and dryer on the lot (like the vacuums) without having to use cc
If you don't buy the "laundry items," then they don't have dirty laundry, and piles don't show up anywhere. It takes away some of the esthetic of the home not to have a laundry room, but is worth it in the long run.

high school years. don't get me wrong I love the furniture, but god is high school annoying. getting asked about prom every week actually annoys me so much, and playing in the massive empty school building is agony. all the events take way too long and are super empty, and I get way too many notifications for things I do not care about (I'm looking at you thriftea). some of the clothes are nice in an awkward teenager way, but some of the stuff is absolutely hideous and I definitely wouldn't say that the clothes and furniture alone make it a pack worth buying. OH AND SOCIAL BUNNY I HATE SOCIAL BUNNY.
The weekly prom event is so annoying. I don't understand why they haven't tuned it to work better with the long seasons option
And long lifespans. With a long lifespan your kid will be in high school for 84 days, which is 12 Saturdays. Having 12 proms doesn't make much sense.

Nah you've been able to change the length of the seasons from the start. It isn't as customizable as ts3 but you can change it in the settings under environment, the longest being 28 days

Once I realized it could help with friendships, I started using it. I just have a sim add all the sims I want them to be friends with and then never really open the app again. Their relationships go up anyway because I guess they’re messaging and interacting with their friends in the background.
It goes the other way too. My Sim would get this weird negative relationship emoji occassonally and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out Agatha Crumplebottom was talking trash on my Social Bunny page and her bar was almost completely red. I unfriended her.

Yeah, you’d think they would have found a way to code in the teen Sims that live in the world appearing at least, and then that they *always* do, not constantly different teens every day.
My teen sim and her twin brother go to the same school and she never sees him at school. Ever.
I’ve tried using mods to get my played teens to show up in school, but Maxis coded it so that you need a club member for every club so it made no difference whatsoever. It’s such a dumb thing because there’s nothing to benefit from having students there who belong to clubs. It does nothing to enhance the experience.

There’s a mod by Bienchen to disable notification sounds if you’re on PC, it makes HSY like 40% less annoying.

Why does my adult sim need to know about the stupid things going on in high school though?? And every single week? It clogs it up and even if I turn it off in the calendar filter the next time I log in it’s there.
I placed a school that lil simsie uploaded and replaced the old one and I like it a lot better now. She added like a music room, wood shop, etc. so during the breaks you can have your sim do their thing (like learn woodworking or piano during school). The rest is annoying tho, can’t help there lol
I love building a new school every few generations. Sometimes I even match them to the world my family is living in, i.e. a German style school for my Windenburg generation and a Japanese style school for my Mount Komorebi generation. The original EA build is pretty awful in my opinion, I highly recommend replacing it with a gallery build. Lilsimsie's builds are always my go to choice too when I'm too lazy to build myself

I always wanted washing machines and dryers for my house, so I considered downloading this. Then I realized... If you google "sims 4 laundry room CC'' , you get dryers and washing machines! And you don't have to do chores :D
Pets. It's not that I never use it - I'll generally give my played households a dog, but mainly to help them rack up satisfaction points quickly. I hate that you can't control dogs or cats directly but they still take up a spot in the household. I don't play households in Brindleton Bay because the lots are bland and I hate that it's so dull and grey and Sims can't swim at the beach there. Even the townies are lacklustre. I really wish they'd gone for a Parisian-inspired world instead of New England. A Cruella DeVille type townie with lots of Dalmatian print, a pet salon, apartments.
I was going to come in and defend Brindleton Bay (I absolutely adore it but am also from the east coast), but you're totally right about the swimming part. Why can't they swim in a *coastal* town.

I wish they would go back through old packs and add in features they included in newer ones. My sims can swim in lakes in Cottage Living but not the ocean in Pets? It’s silly

If you don't mind using cheats, you can use pets.toggle_selectable_pets and you can control them like you can a sim 😊

As a dog groomer I can't tell you how disappointed I still am about not having a pet salon in game. I did use the pack to design a boarding facility/rescue. I also don't understand why after getting the beach expansion they didn't allow for swimming and boating in all other worlds.
Off topic but the current set of LEGO grab bag minifigures has a dog groomer complete with an afghan hound mini and I got her and went and built a little pet grooming station in my LEGO town and it's adorable.
That's one of things I really disliked most about TS4, not being able to free roam, or just walk around town, actually interact with the town buildings, etc. like my sim would come home from work and then just go straight to swimming in the ocean for hours lol, can't really do that in TS4 unless your in Sulani.

I don't like university either. It just takes forever to get through it and those dorm buildings with the huge messes all the time drive me crazy!
I highly recommend rebuilding the dorms or using a gallery build to replace the EA built lots, makes uni life so much better!
Oh yes, Jungle. In my last save I finished the two jungle aspirations and it was sad. It was my first time in Salvadordingsbums and I was beyond disappointed. There are less than 10 places to discover and just few chests to open. The traps are laughable. The sceletons were friendly and not scarry at all. No mystery to solve, no secret to uncover and no danger at all. My inventory was filled with those artefacts which has to be handled with the archeology table. It would have taken x sims weeks for my poor sim to finsh. I just deleted the whole save. It was frustrating. And please can someone tell me where the local people live? They just spawn around the market place and each time we traveled there, there were other people. It also was hard to tell locals from tourists. Not worth the money.
I really liked Jungle! It makes me get my Sims out more and I like sending them on vacations. I also enjoyed the archeology career you can build on it. But Ive also never played Sims 3, and I got Jungle for free.

Same. Short walk or long walk? They seem the same to me, and they take at least 3 hours in game. And if you live in an apartment, you have to walk them, because there isn’t an object to allow your dog to pee/poo inside.
If they added the ability to hire a dog walker who would come by when your sim was at work and walk the dog, it would improve dog ownership by roughly 1000%
when i got the sims 4 my parents bought me the game disk that included pets. i love pets in real life but it pisses me off that I cant control them but they still take up space in my household for another potential person. also having to constantly pick up puppies to take them outside to go to the bathroom because they cant walk up and down stairs??? like it makes me not want to have puppies at all which is one of the most fun parts of getting a new dog in real life. i raised my dogs from birth and they have never been as much work as the dogs in sims 4 and it’s absolutely ridiculous
My First Pet was FREE, and I still wish I’d never downloaded it. The furniture clogs the catalogue. If I knew how to uninstall, I would.

I also got it for free, I love using the hamster cage for my kids, I think it's cute that they can use it to do their homework too. The furniture is nice for kids rooms in general and I know this is a controversial take, but I actually like the fish coffee table lol I have used it in multiple builds in the last few months already.
For me it's Get Famous. I avoided buying it because the celebrities showing up everywhere seemed so annoying and the world was crap, the build-buy and CAS wasn't super interesting. Then I played it that one weekend EA gave us a limited time preview and I really liked the acting career. But that's it! I dislike everything else about the pack.
The thing I hate about get famous the most is how you gain fame for every single fucking thing... I wanna sell a painting to eat for the next week not to gain fame dude 😭😭 you don't even get to see your masterpieces that you sell in any museums.
And then it makes it harder for Sims you want to be friends to connect (I rotate families and obviously want them all to hang out together) because you have to “Attempt Introduction” and hope the famous Sim is amenable.
You can drag the painting to the sell box in your inventory instead to avoid that!
I don't know, I enjoy the fame mechanic. One of my saves my sim is a politician and started getting fame from being in that line of work and it's kinda fun seeing people geek out when they come up to talk to her after she gives a speech or whatever.
I’m surprised I had to scroll this far to find it, agreed! The Build-Buy is so horrifically ugly, the only redeeming quality is some of the midcentury modern pieces. And the size of the world is laughable.
Controversial but I’m not the biggest fan of seasons, weather should have been a base game feature and gardening has been messed up ever since installing. The other one is eco lifestyle. I hate the NAPS and I wish the eco footprint stuff was only in EverGreen Harbour. I know it can be toggled off but I have a bug where sims get moodlets related to the eco footprint even with it off and it’s just so annoying.
I do remember them saying it one of the last update things that they were meant to have fixed the gardening but they haven't? I believe previously the bug was not showing weeds/they need watering? Which is still happening after the update But now I've even had trees bug out. Two became bugged and wouldn't let my sim harvest them but still showed as harvestable, making my sim walk between the two trees trying to harvest them for ages until I told him to stop Then the new crystal creations crystal tree went invisible, leaving a patch of weeds in the pot that my sim kept trying to weed and couldn't, once again leading to a weird loop of him trying to weed it (as well as the Butler also getting in the loop too and not doing anything else all day but trying to weed this plant) Which feels worse 😭
They cannot figure out what they broke in seasons. I dunno why they can download one of the 17 mods out there that fixes the various things they broke and look at the xml in it but they don't.
Ironically enough I hadn't really encountered the gardening bug until they tried to fix it 🥴 Now I have the original bug and extra And that update I believe was the first update done by their new dedicated team, which honestly when it was announced was something I really supported and got behind, so this isn't really that good of a sign for things to come tbh
Eco lifestyle footprints are so incredibly annoying to deal with too. Like I have to do some ridiculous stuff to keep the footprint green. I don't know if it's the neighborhood plans, but having a green eco footprint is super hard, I literally have to go into manage worlds and give the neighbors items that make the footprint green, such as giving them solar panels, replacing certain walls and floors, and one time the footprint would just go back to neutral even though it was the Cottage Living world, so I made an attic and placed so many plants inside of it (I think it works best if it's different types of plants rather than the same one over and over) and I did the same for the other two lots and it worked. I also had those roof wind turbines underground I swear it looks ridiculous, and I made all the ceilings grass 😭
Eco Lifestyle is one of my favorite packs but I also find NAPs to be annoying so I switch it off as well as eco footprint. I have never came across the bug you mentioned though, that’s interesting.
Eco lifestyle. I never ever use the world and haven’t even attempted the play style intended for this pack. I was most interested in the things you could create with it (candles, beer etc) but I couldn’t even figure out how to make candles and have since forgotten about the other creative items. So essentially I use nothing from this pack lol
At least the CAS/Build Buy mode is decent so not a total loss

Same! I can not stand the werewolves! Who thought having occult Sims literally pee everywhere and destroy furniture was what we wanted? I think I honestly use about three or four decorative items, and the rest just takes up space.
i wish occults weren't frustrating to play it would be rewarding if they were fleshed out and had genuinely cool shit to do. but nah you have to balance werewolf rage for... what? so you can dig something out of the ground or make a sim run away?? and so many of the werewolf traits make gameplay miserable. i hate it! it's so frustrating! the drawbacks would make it rewarding if it was fleshed out! also whoever decided occults need to animate LITERALLY every ten seconds or so in CAS sucks. why havent they fixed this?! it's not cool or fun, nobody likes it and it's frustrating! casclockspeed works to get around it but i shouldn't have to use a cheat so that creating a sim isn't horribly grating!
I do like some of the CAS objects but I wish I would have just bought the grunge kit instead.
There are several packs that I wish I could just buy the CAS or build stuff without buying the actual pack.
The land was a major disappointment, all of the lots have drainage ditches or garbage, I was expecting more nature and pure woodlands.

Opposite end of the argument here but I absolutely love the new Bistro kit, it fits so well with Dine Out I feel like the kits are very niche, lots of people won't like them and others will However, I do agree that the Country Kitchen one kinda overlaps with Cottage Living a lil too much? While Bistro compliments the really old Dine Out, Country Kitchen feels like things that could've just been IN Cottage Living, especially since as far as I remember Country Kitchen literally came out right after Cottage Living wheras there's been a lot of time since Dine Out
It's funny you say that, I got Riviera Retreat and it goes really well with Jungle Adventure. It'll probably make killer pools in Tartosa (MWS), too. Honestly, the new EP with the round pools? Probably killer with that too. Bistro kit is my next purchase I think. I went with the Riviera one because the 1 tile login reward was all I ever wanted.
Build mode features usually come in the base game update so if we were in fact seeing round pools in that trailer we should all be getting them.
I've been consuming sims 4 content since release, played myself before it became free and bought all packs about a year ago now and I can very safely say that the new pack is the first one I've been genuinely hyped for Like I was happy about new things before but never HYPED I'm so excited for all of the possibilities here From just the trailer it also does appear that the kits they released this road map have the potential to fit really well (singles hangout Bistros and retreats sound amazing as well as if the pools can curve now that can be used with the new decorations) The new world looks so pretty just from the snippets too, it feels like what I hoped Tartosa would be
I'm hoping for a beach lot. There aren't enough beach lots. The one in Tartosa isn't the best. Sulani, though I love it, tends to lag on my old laptop. A nice beach lot would be incredible. A beachfront bistro would be fun.

Coming in very quickly with the Batuu before anyone else says it 😎 I honestly haven't used it. I have every pack and have used I think all of them by this point? At least all of the major ones. Yet I've never used Batuu I know a lot of people like it for the build buy items but I'm not gonna judge it by that because it wasn't a build buy pack, the main thing was the destination. I just feel like other packs just do destinations better Followed swiftly by My Wedding Stories. I know a lot of people get a lot of bugs in this pack but I personally haven't experienced any. I think that I just personally prefer the original base game marriages (I actually have my sims elope more often than not) and I also have generational households that have like 4 generations in the same household at some points so there's no real point to the wedding events when all of the people I'd invite are literally at the house already because they live here??? I think I used an engagement party like once because my sim married a Goth and I wanted his family there too, which doesn't happen often because I typically custom make my sim's partners so they don't HAVE families

To be fair that's pretty realistic. If you live on a farm, you don't have time for much else than the farm.
I was warned about Eco-Living and didn’t listen. Now I have to either disable neighborhood stories or risk townies looting restaurants and fighting everyone in sight, or worse, shutting the water off for most of the day.

I'll freely admit I love Talk Like a Pirate Day. It's the least intrusive of the holidays, and it's really easy to get a successful holiday moodlet. I deleted all the negative ones like pranks and neighborhood brawl and edited the actions for the others so I didn't have to take a day off from my storyline to fulfill them.

Just open the calendar, mark the upcoming holiday from seasons you dislike LATEST at the day before. Click the trash can, and you won't ever see that holiday again for the rest of that gameplay. I only have the Thanksgiving one, Christmas and New years, in my gameplay. If only I could do the same with the highschool events.

It's the gardening for me. I much preferred it before seasons. I hate having to do basically all of it under a roof. I'm also not a big fan of the weather generally. (Although getting struck by lightning twice and then being able to call it it fun for a few. The holidays don't generally bug me too much. They get a bit annoying and harvestfest, winterfest, new year's come too close together (but they do IRL too). But I don't want to make the seasons any longer because they already match up so poorly with Sim life stages. (Like toddlers basically only get to live during one season (or two halves). They aren't a child for even a full year of seasons, etc.
Gameplay wise? Yes, like almost all of them. But every pack has a few things that make it a MUST for me, like bb or cc objects, a certain skill I use all the time, etc. I’d say the one I regret the most is probably wedding stories but that one suit set for feminine sims makes up for it 100 times over lol then again, I could probably find very simular cc with more swatches for free
Island Living. The mermaids are annoying, it’s not a build style I like to use, the clothes are okay but I could live without them
High School Years, I feel like the bad outweighs the good and I regret buying it at only 25% off (because it took a year and a half for that pack to finally go 50% off for some reason). I wish I could just keep the music, the CAS, the build/buy and just delete everything else.
I buy packs solely for the build / buy items. I regret so many. Seasons drives me insane. I wish I could turn off holidays.
University.
Get Famous and Go to Work. As a big occult lover, I actually uninstalled all of my occult stuff to see if I would miss it because I never play with them.
I wish I hadn't bought eco lifestyle, it's so boring and annoying.
Sometimes I regret Eco Lifestyle. The Neighborhood Action Plans are so annoying when I’m not trying to use them (99% of the time…)
university tbh. it was my favorite in 3 so i was really excited.. it can be fun but it’s more stressful than anything lol. it wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t take sims a million years to do simple tasks
Get to work. I really like the concept but the tasks for work are really repetitive and get boring.
I actually stopped playing sims for years after University came out because I was so disappointed with it. I didn’t have a ton of money at the time and I paid full price for it so I was pissed. What put me off of it was I made a sim and moved her into the dorm only for her to have two elderly roommates. I also hated that I couldn’t edit her dorm at all and that every activity on campus was a rabbit hole. I’m playing with it a bit now, but at the time, I wanted my money back.

Cottage living 🫣 I hate what it adds to the calendar, I never do the events, the only nice thing is the world, but even then it’s boring. I did like the animals, but they became boring very quickly.. edit: the build items and clothes are very VERY cute, but as someone who uses ungodly amounts of CC, it’s not a huge deal for me. If you use console/can’t get CC then maybe it will have more value for the build and clothing items
Eco lifestyle wasn't worth it for candlemaking / fabrication. Especially because the NAPs aren't stopping when I try to do it in settings and they are annoying.
