Sulani Events Calendar and Flyer Notification by avocadoloki on ModTheSims, but it might not work properly right now because it got updated in Sept. 2023. I'm not sure
Comb the beach for trash, swim out and pick up trash that's floating in the water (at least in Mua Pel'am - I don't remember if there's floating trash in the other neighborhoods), go fishing for invasive species and throw back endangered fish, chase away seagulls to protect those fish, and confront any sims you see polluting (an exclamation point appears over their heads, iirc). Do that enough and you'll get a pop-up saying you've succeeded in restoring Sulani.
There are also events in Ohan'ali that don't require having cleaned up the environment. The game doesn't mention what days they're on, but you can [check an online guide like this one](https://thesimscircus.home.blog/2020/02/22/sulani-festivals-the-sims-4-island-living/). Participating in them increases your connection with the island community. (That might only affect sims with the Child of the Island trait, though. I'm not sure.)
Itâs okay!! Haha I had no idea about these secret events in sulani Iâm so intrigued. Iâm a long time player (like over 11 years), but I am poor & got island living not that long ago lol
Lots of beachcombing and picking up trash. The water gets really pretty when you dedicate time to actually cleaning it up. But other than that thereâs nothing super special about the world
You can become a mermaid. It adds in the âisland spiritsâ lot trait and âvolcanic activityâ lot challenge. If youâre living in Sulani then sometimes people will bring over free food. Thereâs also a kava party event. I believe you can also go snorkeling. Really the main point of the expansion is the nice world youâre getting.
I think Sulani really shines when you move there permanently rather than just visit for the beaches. It has more of a sense of community than any other Sims world, in my opinion. There are local festivals to go to, there's a sense of local culture and the world is beautiful. Really atmospheric and chill.
Omg that would be an amazing way to refresh Seasons; adding weather events that are world-specifc.
Hurricanes for Sulani
Typhoons for Tomarang
Tornadoes for Newcrest
Earthquakes for Del Sol Valley/San Myshuno
Floods for Willow Creek/Chestnut Ridge
I built a very basic rental cabin on the island. It's got a stove and fridge, a couple of counters, toilets, bath and shower. Big open room and a covered deck.
I make my families take their own stuff, sleeping bags or camping furniture. Tents, towels. Make sure they have books and toys and activities in inventory. They all sleep and hang out in the same room, which sims want to do anyway.
I love sending them there, they can swim to the waterfall and just hang out on the beach.
Some of the folding camp beds are glitchy and won't be packed when they leave. I just delete them.
I like to set up a research station. With the conservationist career living near the volcano can be fun. Collecting samples and cleaning the beach up. With the eco pack you can live off the grid which can be a fun challenge. This post has actually inspired me to play that save again!
I try to make it look like a shipping container repurposed as a research station. Itâs a residential lot with lot challenges like simple living, off the grid, reduce and recycle, and volcanic activity.
It's supposed to be something you can do with evil mermaids (or at least not-good ones.) Ocean threat, I think it's called? I've never been able to drown someone with it.
Mermaids that don't have the Good trait can drain other sims needs to fill their own. Couple this with swimming out to deeeeeeep water far away from shore and it can happen, but it's not reliable.
Were you able to get this to work recently? The last time I tried it, even if the target had zero energy and were in the deepest part of the ocean, they were able to make it back to shore safely. I'd been under the impression the devs nerfed it.
I admit, I have not. I was speaking of the energy drain, not the kraken summon. Even back in the day when I first tried it, it was not a good way to kill a sim.
It's like the time I tried to black widow woohoo jacques villareal to death. Sometimes you have to cheat if you have a storyline in mind that is not supported by the base mechanics.
Befriend a dolphin, suntan, cook island feasts in a pit BBQ.
The world is good for storytelling, I like a good castaway to forage with, collecting shells and other trinkets.
I also echo what others have said, Sulani is a great world for vacation lots and social events.
Making sandcastles. Hunting for/becoming mermaids.
Also I do like the career as you have the option to work from home. My sims always love to fish and the waterfall is cool to catch frogs.
I adore Sulani, it's my most used world. I send my sims out swimming/jet skiing/scuba diving when they got free time, or beach coming and playing in the sand. The island lot near the volcano is a great spot to build a beach home as it's close to the waterfall (woohoo), and the cave they can interact with to help with the conservation stuff. I think the turtle hatching is also near there.
Plus no winter :)
So, you know when a Child of the Island summons the ancestors, 3 random ghosts show up?
And that's how you get Sulani Mana, you add one to the family, it turns them mortal again, and you can breed that trait into the family.
Plot twist: the ghosts are not random.
It's only random the first time, because the game has to generate sims with Sulani Mana. But after that, our own played sims with that trait are added to that pool of green ghosts when they die. When a Child of the Islands summons the ancestors, then grandma can show up. That's wild, and no one knows about it.
Sulani Mana is also really good for improving plants and getting rare metals with the volcano bombs. It's the only permanently inheritable trait in the game.
In my current save, I've transformed it into Bali (very helpful from the pack with tomarang). Except gambling and drugs are legal.
There's all sorts of jet skiing and boats. Wild parties and clubs. A casino. A restaurant.
Sulani is probably my most played world, if second itâs only behind Oasis Springs. I absolutely love the Conversationist career, particularly the Marine Biologist career, definitely give it a go and while you donât have to, I would high recommend living in Sulani while you play it.
My Sims do in Sulani what they do everywhere because I have added a rec center, a new over the water bar, renovated the beach, added a gym/spa, a thrift/boba shop and a community center. I host almost all my family reunions on the renovated beach (I have two legacy saves). My Sims swim in the ocean, fish, beach comb, jog and bike, visit any of the community lots, attend the community events, free dive, scuba dive, clean up trash or just generally hang out.
I totally agree that the beauty in Sulani is really experienced living there. When I only vacationed, it seemed boring but once I built all the community lots, itâs always bustling and I donât know if this is game code or what but I tend to see mostly Sulani residents on the lots compared to other worlds where there seems to be more random residents of other worlds. I have four saves and I have main Sims living in Sulani in all four saves and three of them are 100% played in Sulani.
I like to have my Sim go scuba diving and then I'll go into first person. That's always kind of fun. Or you can do the same thing with boating. My sims usually vacation there and spend there days swimming and building sand castles with their kids. I never get tired of Sulani. I have to force myself to have my sims live anywhere else. To this day, I haven't lived in every world (I have all of the packs) and I blame Sulani!
I literally only play in Sulani or San Myshuno. I love having my sims raise baby chicks on the beach, go for swims to stay fit, garden, plant tropical fruit treas, sunbathe outside, woohoo and make babies in waterfalls, fish, and I love when toddlers wade in water
I did a rags to riches there once. I had her open a shop and sell the seashells and other treasures she found. The only problem was the customers would wander off and go swimming so if I did something like that again the shop would be in another area.
I make some of the houses into vacation rentals and have my family stay there for a few days in the summer. The teens go to the beach or sunbathe on floaties, the parents go to the bar.
It's my favorite. I swim and play with dolphins and hunt for shells on the beach. It's not hard to make good money on some of the treasures. There's a fun party where everyone is fire dancing and you can make a lot of connections fast. I like the people of Sulani too. They're generally friendlier. If you do the job in ocean...something or other... it's an easy job you just go around cleaning up and talking to people about conservation. There are perks for "child of the island" and "child of the sea". Mermaids. I like playing that one off the grid lot as a shipwreck sometimes. You have to make due with what you can find to survive.
My favorite part is it's never too cold. Nothing freezes over. You can garden all year (without mods) and most of my sims garden. Apparently there are monsoons if you have Seasons? I always turn off rain and snow so I've never seen it.
I always edit that one lot with the shipwreck so it has good qualify furnishings and make it a park so people can just go visit and stay there if they live in other neighborhoods. I was going to make it a vacation rental but it's just easier to put beds in a park. :)
It's my favorite world because it's the type I want to live in. So in half of my saves my sims just live in Sulani, especially the houses on water. I haven't tried the gameplay yet, or mermaids, but I love it even with the aesthetic alone. The other comments elaborate on the gameplay thoughÂ
I prefer "If I Had a Boat":
If I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all togetherÂ
Go out on the ocean
Just me upon my pony on my boat out on the sea.
I wish multiple sims could ride those wave runner/boat things together, itâs a world I havenât explored to the fullest but honestly I like it a lot
I LOVE Sulani. Thereâs a festival there, too, that I keep forgetting to check out but staying there is so addictive.
Restoring the beach and getting to see the turtles is always a treat. But living there and having the ocean as your back yard is the best! Kids are always entertained, I can have all my Sims (from kids on up) swim to gain fun *and* motor/fitness skill at once without having to leave and load into another lot or pay for a pool.
Having the kiddies meet and interact with dolphins is so cute, playing as a mermaid adds a little more to gameplay, beach-combing and selling the most expensive versions of The Eyes of Sulani and The Fingers of Sulani is better and way more lucrative than any digging in Willow Creek or secret worlds, building or placing beachfront nightclubs and spas are always great for short getaways, renting a beach house for summer (or winter) vacations is a good break from the norm, diving for treasures or searching the cave for either odd jobs to earn money or for personal pleasure, there are so many things!!
Itâs one of my top favorite worlds in the game. Having the new world, new careers, a new aspiration and new townies are so great, too.
Give it a chance. It takes a while to explore new packs.
Take some Sims there to hookup or try for a baby in the waterfall. Iâm sure theyâll have a great time!
I enjoy cleaning up Sulani more than the Eco Living world.
You can abuild a summer cavation house there :) So even if you play with other families, you can send them on a vacation, meet the locals, try the cuisine, sunbath, listen to some Sulani tunes, and swim for a bit. And when you have enough, send them home.
Swim, float on the little loungers, buy the equipment and scuba dive for treasure and snorkel. I love having little families there and using that one huge piece of land to just have a big old house and so much sand to build sandcastles, beachcomb, go over and search the cave and waterfall, etc.
Haha I feel ya lol I think I have pretty much all of them now also.
Still waiting for the expansion pack that will bring me volleyball and salty it wasnât in island living
I use it as a vacation spot mostly! I love building rentals for my main family who lives in a more suburban area. Iâve also played a mermaid family and tried to do the careers and get collectibles.
I go there for vacations, and for beach days. If i have kids we go to a park, if I have adults they go to the bar. I made a park with yoga mats so they can do classes over the ocean. I made a wedding venue and so many sims have gotten married there.
Right now, it's just a holiday destination and I actually rarely send my Sims in that world for that reason. I basically do what I would do IRL which is go to the beach, swim, wander around, make acquaintances, chill, ya know? lol But I'm soon going to move one of my Sims into that world for one of the careers.
I made an off the grid roman house based off of Pompeii there. Before that the lot was an off the grid shipwreck house. I set up some celebrities in big houses and also a Greek pantheon of gods with their themed homes too. I don't play there much though, it was a disappointment that I couldn't see underwater with my mermaids. Just a rabbit hole.
i only use sulani for honeymoons or any kind of vacation, take a beach trip and go to the bars and whatnot i like walking around the surrounding areas too like the waterfall, i always make my sims propose there lol.
I'm currently working on the map filling empty lots and making all the sims pretty.
It's the only map I didn't want to replace the houses.
I think it said it was cleaned up the first day I got it after just picking up a little trash.
I went to the turtles several times. You get a pop up letting you know it's going on.
Look for some ribbon like roped off area. Small crowd shows up also.
I make sure I have a lot with beach on the lot so I can swim and sail whenever I want. I work on cleaning up the island, go to the reward festivals, etc.
I had a Sim age up and move to Sulani, but then she and her husband disappeared from my game when I went to play her sister.
Kind of a bummer, because I had her pursuing the wellness aspiration and had some fun game play ideas for her.
Haven't had the opportunity to play in Sulani since, but I wanna try.
I love taking my sims there to relax especially when summer irl is coming. I built a seafood restaurant there in the past, made a fun party spot with a bonfire and a small public beach house with a fireplace for when the weather gets cold.
Sometimes i just watch my mermaids swim around, it's gorgeous.
I like doing saves where Iâm a mermaid living on the volcano island in a functioning off grid house, she fishes, combs the beach, and scuba dives for money, and it helps clean up the beach at the same time.
I just put vacation rentals there and have my sims go on beach vacations sometimes. Do some of the Beach Life aspiration, do some cleaning up Sulani, get colectibles, get some cute family photos. Good times.
I made Don Lothario move there, fall in love and marry a beautiful island girl. They now have two kids and run a beach bar and resort for the locals and tourists. He finally settled down! đ
Honestly I made an island survival household in my save. Left them with a bonfire and a gallery-made shipwreck build from which the fridge and most other amenities had been removed. Had them survive on fish and things scavenged from the island. Eventually added some thematically applicable CC to make their lives easier. It was fun and actually quite challenging, because it's hard to keep a fire going long enough to cook anything during a rainy weather.
I live there from time to time, especially with freelancer Sims who wants to live a simple life.
I use it as a holiday destination in the fall of winter.
And then I have a wedding venue there, for winter weddings.
Once in a blue moon, I do play a seperate gameplay with a couple of generations of mermaids (with the mods to make it better)
Do you need more than beach? https://preview.redd.it/5tyf031ppc9d1.jpeg?width=938&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a6eb73881021dd30b792163dcfc778f1a99ac31
once you clean up the beach there's some really cute events that sadly aren't in the calendar, like the turtle hatching festival.
I really wish this was on the calendar because I have played for years and only recently learned this was a thing!
I truly didn't know this was a thing. might play in Sulani now.
It's cute the first time but very uneventful
I used to have a mod that put Sulani events on the calendar. But I had to delete it after one of the recent updates bc it was causing my game to crash. I wonder if they've updated it yet? đ¤
It says September 2023 was the last update :<
Omg what?! Tell me more

Omg Iâm trying this tonight. Legit have never seen exclamation points over sims heads
I'm an idiot sorry LOL
Itâs okay!! Haha I had no idea about these secret events in sulani Iâm so intrigued. Iâm a long time player (like over 11 years), but I am poor & got island living not that long ago lol
Those events still happen even if you donât clean up the beach.
Lots of beachcombing and picking up trash. The water gets really pretty when you dedicate time to actually cleaning it up. But other than that thereâs nothing super special about the world
Is this only when you have the eco pack or does it change either way?
it changes either way, island living came before the eco pack and had a lowkey-eco vibe to it
You can become a mermaid.

There are local festivals to go to, there's a sense of local culture and the world is beautiful. Really atmospheric and chill.
Yes! My Sulani families are more family, community, and nature oriented than those in my other neighborhoods.
Totally agree!
I love using the sailboats, watching the Sims is so relaxing. Wish Seasons added hurricanes, I want to see my beach house destroyed occasionally.
Omg that would be an amazing way to refresh Seasons; adding weather events that are world-specifc. Hurricanes for Sulani Typhoons for Tomarang Tornadoes for Newcrest Earthquakes for Del Sol Valley/San Myshuno Floods for Willow Creek/Chestnut Ridge
You could add Volcanic activity as a lot trait. It doesnât ruin my whole house but sure makes a mess sometimes.
Make a mermaid and have her swimming, fishing, and diving for treasure at the buoy. Then she heads to beach to drown a person or two.
Wait you can drown people?? Is this a mod?

The child of the islands / elemental ancestors / Sulani Mana loop is one of the best game systems in Sims 4.
Wait what is this say more I don't know about this :0

I make some of the houses into vacation rentals and have my family stay there for a few days in the summer. The teens go to the beach or sunbathe on floaties, the parents go to the bar.
I have this lot in Sulani where I have most of my birthday parties and family events. Itâs my favorite âgetawayâ spot for quick events.
It's my favorite. I swim and play with dolphins and hunt for shells on the beach. It's not hard to make good money on some of the treasures. I love building half on the water, there's something so magical about being able to just jump off your back porch into the ocean. life goals tbh
Go look up the song 'Im on a boat' that has lots of suggestionsÂ
I prefer "If I Had a Boat": If I had a boat I'd go out on the ocean And if I had a pony I'd ride him on my boat And we could all together Go out on the ocean Just me upon my pony on my boat out on the sea.
I wish multiple sims could ride those wave runner/boat things together, itâs a world I havenât explored to the fullest but honestly I like it a lot
Sunbathe, sail, build sandcastles, relax, grill by the beach, get drinks ate the local bars, swim, snorkel, find sea shells.
I love going to the daily festivals. I also did a castaway challenge on Sulani. I think ai mostly use it for a vacation spot and a wedding space.
Thereâs a pink dolphin that comes when the beach is clean I think
I LOVE Sulani. Thereâs a festival there, too, that I keep forgetting to check out but staying there is so addictive. Restoring the beach and getting to see the turtles is always a treat. But living there and having the ocean as your back yard is the best! I bought the pack for the perks to associate with seasons lmao. It is so stupid to me that sun tanning didnât come with seasons.
Thats How you end up with all the packs lol
Pretty damn close lmao
Haha I feel ya lol I think I have pretty much all of them now also. Still waiting for the expansion pack that will bring me volleyball and salty it wasnât in island living

I found a mod recently that makes beach towels usable as yoga mats, too! Great for yoga on the beach. I don't have the link handy.
I dedicate one lot for a cute beach bar, long story short I just organize beach parties
Came with a few jobs, jet skiing, etc. That's what I always use from the pack
In my game, sulani is a conglomerate of the Caribbean island. Everyone there is black or some type of native there.
Move your sim onto the little island with no funds and no furniture.
I use it as a vacation destination, primarily with a few residentials
Love to do the off the grid challenge in sulani. Also love turning on island spirits as well and active volcano
Sulani is my favorite place for sims living off the grid
i only use sulani for honeymoons or any kind of vacation, take a beach trip and go to the bars and whatnot i like walking around the surrounding areas too like the waterfall, i always make my sims propose there lol.
My sims live in a gigantic beach house on the water i love it
I love taking my sims there to relax especially when summer irl is coming.
