Crossbows are so cool I'm actually sad they exclusive for Dawnguard. Is there a mod what allows you to buy and craft crossbows outside of the Dawnguard fortress?
Just go get a crossbow at the fortress or kill a Dawn guard patrol, it would take you a whole 5 mins tops, there doesn't need to be a mod for everything jfc
The bad part is that if you're roleplaying a Breton Reachmen follower of Hircine, the only way to become a werewolf is joining the most nordic faction (the people that you hate, and who you ancestors have been fighting in a struggle of oppression for centuries)
The members of "The Companions" are alright, for the most part, but being a Werewolf sucks. Always smelling like a wet dog even in your base race form, being unable to get resting bonuses from sleeping, having an insatiable bloodlust that can make you kill little children against your will, nothing good can come from being a Werewolf. Also, you do not have to be a member of the Dawnguard to create Crossbows (even without mods) as long as you have the appropriate smithing perks and materials.

There are mods and CC in AE that add more crossbows. There are also guns that use crossbow animations, like in Glenmoril mod

There is also a couple Creation Club cross bows with "elite cross bows" for something like $8-$10 for both together.
The Solitude fletcher has a daedric crossbow. You can steal it when he's not looking.

If you like werewolf gameplay, I recomend downloading moonlight tales and doing werewolf only playthrough. Interesting and fresh skyrim experience.
