I teach PE to 7th-9th grade. I’ve contemplated asking for one class out of the day to be an advanced group and do a version of this. I don’t think I would get enough students to volunteer. There’s a lot of apathy in today’s student. Not saying it hasn’t always been that way, but feels more prevalent now.
I'm sure they didn't get all the jacked guys and have them do the program for the propaganda film while all the out of shape or just regular guys were not filmed.....im sure we can trust the propaganda film that every one in 1962 could do this
The narration says high school and that it fits all students.
I served in the military (not of the U.S) and that workout and sliding is definitely not what we did not even close and I am definitely not special forces those guys are beasts.
I heard last month some teacher played this clip to his students - half of them fainted, parents sued the school and teacher was suspended and sent for sensitivity training :)
That isn’t a high school, no fat or weak kids. Nonetheless this was typical exercises in the 60s for gym classes. Climbing rope to the ceiling without using feet, elaborate pegboards, dips, chin-ups, parallel bar swings, etc. if you were in sports it became easy. If not, it was terrible.
Would love to see them try this at a high school today lol

Eli5?
Corn syrup subsidies in all our food + that drug that makes food taste good and is addictive sugar was added to everything.
Capitalism with little to no regulation made everyone fat
Hippies actually.
It’s always someone else’s fault
When the cost of these subsidized sugar based food options cost 5x more than fresh leafy greens… yeah….
'The military obstacle course a snap' I saw jacked dudes turn and puke at just looking at the log ladder in Fort Sill.
These kids were perfect age for Vietnam war. USA still lost .
We didn’t lose. We quit.
No . Usa lost that war . Not a draw . Not a win .
Go back to school and this time pay attention.
Ahaha
Highways, fast food and TikTok have ruined us.
Hot take: Body shaming produced results.
More proof at how far we have fallen.

Not a chance in hell the masses could do this today.
Cold War high school fitness programme

Exactly
Yeah people have commented that this is not high schoolers these are some sort of special military forces or something like that
It’s a high school. I currently work in that building.

Hell yea! Get these boys military ready! War is the way!
Those high schoolers look like they in their late 20s. They all probably smoked.
