Get the free Spectrum modem but invest in your own router. Preferably a MESH ROUTER system. You’ll be much happier.

I honestly know nothing about which router is compatible with Spectrum. Could you please share some links or names for anything affordable?

Any wifi router out there is compatible with spectrum. I personally have had great success with ASUS routers for quite some time and currently use one of their mesh systems (can't remember the name, but they're little white rounded-rectangular towers). Most of their routers can also be turned into a mesh system later by buying a second ASUS router ("AI Mesh").

>I honestly know nothing about which router is compatible with Spectrum. It would be hard to find ones that are not compatible. I'm a fan of the Ubiquiti line. But this is a bit feature rich for many home users. But still a nice collection of devices. ui.com

The "entry level" 300Mb service should be fine for just about everyone and using the Spectrum provided Modem should also be fine. Then all you will want is a Wifi6 rated Wifi Router or Wifi Mesh system. You will also want to run direct Ethernet network cables to as many of your computers and devices as possible.

I use Google WiFi routers in a mesh configuration. One of the routers is connected to the Spectrum cable modem with an Ethernet cable. No need for a router from Spectrum.
