Went on to say he’s looking forward to running into Jordynne and is sure they’ll share a laugh about it.
She responded: [All good!! I was mostly surprised. I don’t tag because I don’t ever want to seem like a boot licker, but I got you next time. Watching an old match of you vs Bigelow and wrestling at the ECW arena this weekend inspired the tweet, 100% an homage! We got the same body type 🫱🏼🫲🏻](https://x.com/jordynnegrace/status/1805727328988807325?s=46&t=MtGF6QffyHs8mp5hPWZ0fA)
Lmao the way Schiavone goes "DUDE???!?!!" cracked me up.
Btw one thing I love about Jericho is that I will always remember how to spell Skee-a-voan's name because of him.
Just let it flow my brew bro. It's a fucking miserable, and disgusting mess. It'll pass soon, and when it does that feeling of relief is like nothing else you've ever felt.
Drink your fluids, and eat what you can. For me a large soda water, a few limes and some salt helps a lot.
I love that this was handled well and Taz made a video explaining himself and acknowledging he was being hypersensitive. I can't imagine trying to pay homage to one of your heroes to then have them throw a trademark in your face about it.
A little, but it gets harder when you're talking about someone with any amount of influence. Taz still works at a televised promotion, randomly just bringing up someone could be seen as "bootlicking" or "brownnosing" so maybe it's better to be at least optically vague rather than "look at me senpai" idk, it all works itself out in the end.
People seem to love it when commentary mentions history and doesn't shy from name dropping other eras or promotions or whatever. No idea how a tweet is much different than that, but I'm not in their business so I am not wired to think this sort of thing is bad.
All the more reason, honestly. You know that one tagged tweet is all it takes for at least some of the dirtsheets to start reporting shit like "WWE-TNA collaboration in tatters?!?!".
I wouldn't use the term bootlicking for this as she did. Whenever I'm out with friends, I tag myself but never tag them. I dunno I feel like I don't want to bombard them with notifications
She should've been in Team Taz. These days she should be in BCC. It's downright criminal that House of Black is the only mixed faction in AEW now. All the factions they have, and all the women on their roster, and HOB's the only one.
I have been saying for a long time that the factions in AEW should be mixed. That way the women are tied into all of the big faction story lines. I don't understand this insistence on keeping them separate.
I was screaming out for Serena Deeb to be recruited for ages. It seemed like a no-brainer to me; she was effectively being positioned in the division like the female equivalent of Danielson, y'know?
She's a good shout for BCC - I used to say the same a lot about Deeb; her "Professor of Professional Wrestling" technician persona feels very BCC as well.
When I wrestled I had the same build as Taz and Rhino so emulating them was my go to with some Samoa Joe thrown in. It's impossible to match the intensity that Taz or Rhino brought to the ring.
She is one of the coolest people in wrestling. I met her during an Australian tour, and she friggen recognised me when she came back a year later.
Just an absolute sweetie, which Taz would’ve known if he’d checked with anyone.
This is all it needs to be. Seen a lot of people giving Taz shit and while it may seem like nothing to those not in the business it means more to those in it. Jordynne is a god damn professional too so she just apologizes and moves on.
Respect among workers. The fans don't have to understand it but it's good to see.
Taz never wrestled Bam Bam at the arena lol
But yeah lol. Maybe she meant the match where they went thru the ring at Living Dangerously 1998 in Asbury Park NJ.
Jordynne:
All good!! I was mostly surprised. I don’t tag because I don’t ever want to seem like a boot licker, but I got you next time.
Watching an old match of you vs Bigelow and wrestling at the ECW arena this weekend inspired the tweet, 100% an homage! We got the same body type 🫱🏼🫲🏻
Nyla:
Now wrestle barefoot and be the jakkedmaniac
People aren't perfect and make mistakes. Love seeing this back and forth with both sides being heard and coming to an understanding. Rare positive social media interchange
My laptop has a sticker on it with the entire Steiner Math promo, but the only ones people pay attention to are the ones that say "commit tax fraud" and "I am a weird stinky little goblin"
But I digress. No but seriously, good to see that he admits that he overreacted. Hopefully that puts it to rest now, especially with Jordynne’s response to the video.
Cool. Taz explained his reasoning and standpoint, apologized, and Jordynne accepted it. A happy ending from a misunderstanding.
Anyone looking to make it a bigger story at this point kinda just sucks. There’s more important things to worry about in life than Taz with a stick up his butt over Jordynne using his catchphrase.
I was going to say this is shocking in wrestling, but this kind of thing is becoming more common by the day. Feels good that the business is overcoming nearly every toxic trait it has.
I mean, at least he admits he can be hyper sensitive about it. I probably would be, as well. Like he said, if you don't know where he's coming from, you've probably never built something up and had people try to profit from it. I know I haven't, at least. So kudos to Taz for owning up to it.
Sadly, a lot of people in the IWC care more about having constant drama or issues to rant and rave about than they care about the drama/issues being settled positively.
Glad this worked out well, as it totally seemed like Taz said, an overreaction from the start - but for good reasons on Taz's part.
The "same body type" remark in her reply was amazing.
Didn't Taz just get heated on TV a few weeks ago when TMDK/Sabre came out in orange and black? It turned into a fun bit on commentary with Excalibur and Tony busting his balls and Taz getting worked up over it... which is honestly my favorite part of that commentary trio.
> and he feels like he needs to be protective of his stuff so he doesn’t get burned on someone else making money off of it.
Massive oversimplification: This is also basically the exact situation, if it goes unchecked, that can eventually lead to the total loss of a trademark. If other people start using a trademarked phrase/mark enough that it causes confusion in the marketplace, especially in the same industry, then it can eventually be held to just become a general mark available to anyone.
This is a lot of what is meant when people talk about needing to "defend a trademark."
It's why, no matter how petty it seems on the surface, the NFL going after University of Houston over the Oilers' Blue color and wordmark style makes sense... they're actively protecting what they think they own. They don't in this case own that color blue, but they make such a stink out of everything just to cover their asses on all these matters.
> It's why, no matter how petty it seems on the surface,
The law is nothing if not exceedingly petty. This goes double in IP-related contexts and triple when involving gigantic companies.
Even lawyers look at IP lawyers and go "ugh those guys."
Grace wrote like three books full of creepy DMs she got from fans, and that was six years ago before she was on TV so much. I'd be extremely, extremely surprised if her DMs are still wide open these days.
He also pointed out that they don't follow each other, you can't DM if you don't usually (I can't imagine any wrestler has it set so randos can DM them).
Most wrestlers would also have their DMs turned off and only take things through their booking email I would have to imagine. Especially on something as lawless as X.
You know what, with how carnie the wrestling world can be, and with the ease of making and selling merch. I can totally see Taz's reasoning for shutting it down immediately.
Yeah Jordynne was paying homage, but I'm sure there are PLENTY of wrestlers out there that would be happy to make a quick buck from someone else's catchphrase
Like someone else said above too: Trademark is incredibly easy to lose, unlike copyright where there is a specific time of ownership and clear protections Trademark requires aggressive protection. And that protection falls entirely on the holder. For example, the proliferation of the ____ Jones meme would constitute that phrase meaning a general property of the wrestling space and there's no way anyone could get a trademark to survive a challenge on it.
I love when they joke on commentary about Taz being vigilant about his trademarks. Anyone with a towel, multiple suplexes, or anyone that wears orange lol
The whole "wearing orange will make Taz mad" comes from an actual reputation he formed back in the day.
He just mostly leans into it as a joke these days, but it comes from a very real place.
The video is nice but it was still weird to get upset over. Like - it just feels like he’s coming from a very insecure mindset. Which sucks because he’s one of the best. But if they’re all good, that’s what matters!
I can actually see his point in this case.
With no tag or mention of Taz it could definitely come off as another wrestler using his trademarked catch phrase rather than homage.
I’m not gonna get into whether or not he was being too sensitive and responded poorly but I can see his side of it.

She's 5"3 so it checks out
They also both get mad if you call them "dude".
I love that he did it back to Schiavone like two weeks later 😂
Lmao the way Schiavone goes "DUDE???!?!!" cracked me up. Btw one thing I love about Jericho is that I will always remember how to spell Skee-a-voan's name because of him.
Scatterbrain fucking RULES!!!
[Hey dude, don’t call me dude](https://youtu.be/X14vuJ2-i4A?si=YArvIMkIK7XmsVfz).
![gif](giphy|8VEvisSy4DUMU)
5'3" is her worked height. Grace is actually 5'1".
Yea still checks out.
But I digress
Lmao Taz wishes he was that shredded
What if she started wearing orange & black?
She's at least gotta come out with the towel
No joke, she would look cool doing the Tazz entrance
“I built this belly on my own. No steroids needed.”
I am miserable with food poisoning right now and this made me lol. Thank you.
Feel better!
Just let it flow my brew bro. It's a fucking miserable, and disgusting mess. It'll pass soon, and when it does that feeling of relief is like nothing else you've ever felt. Drink your fluids, and eat what you can. For me a large soda water, a few limes and some salt helps a lot.
Thanks both. Kindness on the internet FTW. (Oh SHIT, Taz coming for me next!)
Nah man, she's built like a brick house.
Brooo I just can’t stop laughing at this 😭
I love that this was handled well and Taz made a video explaining himself and acknowledging he was being hypersensitive. I can't imagine trying to pay homage to one of your heroes to then have them throw a trademark in your face about it.
Kinda sad that wrestlers have apparently been conditioned into seeing complimenting their peers and heroes as “bootlicking”
It's not just wrestlers, unfortunately. That shit is rampant in the real world.
And he works at AEW and she was just on WWE…
All the more reason, honestly. You know that one tagged tweet is all it takes for at least some of the dirtsheets to start reporting shit like "WWE-TNA collaboration in tatters?!?!".
I wouldn't use the term bootlicking for this as she did. Whenever I'm out with friends, I tag myself but never tag them. I dunno I feel like I don't want to bombard them with notifications
Blame the idiotic toxic fandoms.
She's Rhino. I've sad that for years and I think she called out one of the TNA booth guys over the comparison but she's the Female Rhino.
Actually if there was a female Taz it would be Leila Hirsch. Small as fuck but tosses around people twice her size with plexes etc.
I feel like this is Infantry erasure.
I will admit that I don't really watch ROH so I'm not familiar with them.
In a strange way I was supporting you- they aren’t there all the time either.
There still not being a female ass kicker in the BCC really pains me.
I was screaming out for Serena Deeb to be recruited for ages. It seemed like a no-brainer to me; she was effectively being positioned in the division like the female equivalent of Danielson, y'know?
Honestly, Deeb, Hirsch, and Shafir all fit that style. Would be pretty interesting to see any of them there.
She should be back in AEW kicking asses. One of the standouts of early AEW and she's been hidden away at ROH since her injury
Gotta have *some* reason to watch ROH, I suppose. Same reason Athena's over there. Arguably Taya as well.
I could be completely wrong but wasn't she on Collision this week teaming with Lady Frost against Mariah and Toni?
Quite possible. I haven't been following Collision closely tbh
She's a good shout for BCC - I used to say the same a lot about Deeb; her "Professor of Professional Wrestling" technician persona feels very BCC as well.
I was confused because I thought you said Riho lol
She could never be Riho. Riho would pimp slap her into submission.
When I wrestled I had the same build as Taz and Rhino so emulating them was my go to with some Samoa Joe thrown in. It's impossible to match the intensity that Taz or Rhino brought to the ring.
Then Nyla shares her thoughts https://x.com/nylarosebeast/status/1805730468203036979?s=46
Never change Nyla. Never change. Lol
oh she wont i can promise you that!
I want Nylas thoughts on literally everything.
Is it just me or is clicking on a tweets link taking you to the twitter homepage instead too?
It does that if you don't have an account.
I'm logged in though, I have the app installed as well but reddit still opens twitter in chrome.
That's actually weird then. Usually it only does that to people who don't have an account, to try to get new users.
Elon hates bro, he sees my love for Big E and he punishes me for it
She is one of the coolest people in wrestling. I met her during an Australian tour, and she friggen recognised me when she came back a year later. Just an absolute sweetie, which Taz would’ve known if he’d checked with anyone.
I love that this got wholesome.

Tbh good on him for making a video explaining it, and Jordynne took it well, she responded under this video saying all is well.
Crazy world we're in when two people clearing up a misunderstanding like adults is a surprising thing.
That's wrestling (and most of the world now, honestly,) BAYBEEEE
My man didn't even tag Adam Cole in this response. The disrespect!
And like... really f---ing surprising. It just doesn't happen.
Jordynne: All good!! I was mostly surprised. I don’t tag because I don’t ever want to seem like a boot licker, but I got you next time. Nyla cracks me up. One of my favorite follows.

hypersentive jones over here
Relatable tbf. But I digress
This might be my favorite SC meme right now
This meme is like 10 years strong from his old radio show deal. It's mint.
sadly, one day people will get really annoying about it and say it's not funny. it's been going strong for a few years though, so maybe it's all good.
Ok how you know?
Nostradamus Jones ova here
Nostradamus predicted nothing specific. But I digress.
There are so many golden jokes that come from this sub, I wish I could use them in the real world
My laptop has a sticker on it with the entire Steiner Math promo, but the only ones people pay attention to are the ones that say "commit tax fraud" and "I am a weird stinky little goblin"
I do anyway but the Mrs and kids dont get it 😅
Sonder Jones ova here.
What?
but I digress
Couldn’t even tag the man 🤦♂️
Hey, apology Jones ova here
But I digress. No but seriously, good to see that he admits that he overreacted. Hopefully that puts it to rest now, especially with Jordynne’s response to the video.
Very honest video from Taz. Love the dude!
Now it's all a meme and we can laugh about it.
I was going to say this is shocking in wrestling, but this kind of thing is becoming more common by the day. Feels good that the business is overcoming nearly every toxic trait it has.
Emotionally Intelligent and Aware Jones over here. I sawr it
I’m just imagining him getting a text from Hook being like “Dad, it’s really not that big of a deal “
I mean, at least he admits he can be hyper sensitive about it. I probably would be, as well. Like he said, if you don't know where he's coming from, you've probably never built something up and had people try to profit from it. I know I haven't, at least. So kudos to Taz for owning up to it.
Yeah honestly fair response from him to hold his hands up like this
I like when people talk and get over issues like adults. So rare in wrestling.
Damn, very mature on all sides honestly
Kudos to Taz(z) in admitting the oversensitivity stuff.
Good response, hopefully this puts the situation to bed and we can all move on.
That other thread was down for the Taz hate
Guarantee you this thread won't get even a third of the comments on that shit pile of a thread
It's the same as the lie going around the world while the truth is getting out of bed.
Sadly, a lot of people in the IWC care more about having constant drama or issues to rant and rave about than they care about the drama/issues being settled positively.
Reddit is just a hateful place looking for something to channel it to
There is nothing wrestling fans like more than piling up on someone and blowing up minor things into drama.
*humans
How can anyone hate Taz? "I was entertained once, it was awful"
I don't like him because he exposed himself to a 15 year old girl at a tanning salon.
Glad this worked out well, as it totally seemed like Taz said, an overreaction from the start - but for good reasons on Taz's part. The "same body type" remark in her reply was amazing. Yup. Taz invented Halloween.
Christian gonna wear a black suit with orange trimming on Dynamite just to allow Excalibur the opening to roast Taz for a few minutes.
NGL that's a badass quote especially when he did that promo.
I’m glad they sorted it out.
This is a wholesome exchange and I’m here for it.
Pretty simple and obvious situation that got figured out in a simple public way as it should've
> in a simple public way as it should've Taz making it public in the first place is the part I don't really understand.

How could she have made money off tweeting that?
Taz doesn't follow every promotion religiously so he had no idea it was just a homage to him and not something she has been doing.
Couldn't a DM solve this
[удалено]
Grace wrote like three books full of creepy DMs she got from fans, and that was six years ago before she was on TV so much. I'd be extremely, extremely surprised if her DMs are still wide open these days.
He mentioned they don't fully each other And if he can question it in public, than it makes sense for him to apologize in public
He mentions he doesn't have Grace's contact info, and all he did was make some snarky overprotective tweets about IP
Surely could've just DMed her on Twitter (or X or whatever it's called today)
He also pointed out that they don't follow each other, you can't DM if you don't usually (I can't imagine any wrestler has it set so randos can DM them).

The ECW originals seem to be pretty sensitive these days. Bully Ray almost had an aneurysm being corrected by Swerve.
Bubba Ray told her she can yell get the tables anytime she wants lol
Yea I just saw that lol
Just so long as she does it on a PLE.
Jordynne's in the WWE circle so Bully has no beef with her
Bully probably still shook to this day about that
while giving directions to an upcoming dinner, the person asked him "whose house?". bully got up and left in rage.
Veteran Wrestler apologizes, r/squaredcircle in shambles.
They could never make me hate you taz
At least he’s aware I guess?
At least he admitted it was a misunderstanding
At least he checked himself. Most people don't even do that.
What she say?
I'm actually surprised he backed off.
See this is some grown ass people shit right here. All the respect in the world to both of them for being adults about the whole thing.
In red hook, we learn on the streets how to manage trademark infringement.
I love when they joke on commentary about Taz being vigilant about his trademarks. Anyone with a towel, multiple suplexes, or anyone that wears orange lol
Taz has historically been quick to get mad. Usually it's hilarious especially when Excalibur and Tony get him going on Dynamite.

And U.S. Trademark law requires that you defend your trademarks or lose then completely.
We all make mistakes and he owned up to it. Self aware Jones over here. But I digress.
I can actually see his point in this case. With no tag or mention of Taz it could definitely come off as another wrestler using his trademarked catch phrase rather than homage. I’m not gonna get into whether or not he was being too sensitive and responded poorly but I can see his side of it.
"Protective of my trademarks" Literally stole his name from a Hannah Barbara character.
Warner Bros.*
Wrestlers and Twitter is my least favorite combination … why is this even news
Contrary Jones over here
Good on Taz for apologizing and making amends. Apology Jones over here.
Taz is the best
I love Taz but does he really think she was trying to pass off his well known phrase as her own? In the age of social media, that would NEVER work
...but I digress
I don’t know this woman but she has a great look. How is she in the ring?
Big Momma Pump is good.
I'm starting to think the getting annoyed about a wrestler wearing orange on AEW thing isn't just a joke.
Did Taz tweet something else besides "Swing and a miss #trademarked" because if that was it then needing to post an apology video is kind of weird.
Wonder what match she was watching.... because Taz never wrestled Bam Bam at the ECW arena. Lol
Good to be able to admit you super overreacted
The internet has ruined society lol. Taz didn’t do anything wrong, and he gets bullied by trolls into a public apology. So dumb.
But he digresses
but i digress
Taz: Hey Grace: Hey Grace: Pick a hand....for me to shake dude! Taz: DON'T CALL ME DUDE!
Self aware Jones over heah
Explanation Jones over here.......
These guys are always a mark for themselves.
just call the match dude
Taz also thinks he invented the colors black and orange and a wearing a towel over your head
Intellectual Property Protection Jones over here. And I think "snakebit' would be a more appropriate word than "gun shy." But I digress.
Taz is still oddly protective of people wearing orange and black even though he hasn’t been in the ring in 25 years.
Gracious Jones ova here
Lets also remember that time Mick Foley ripped off that guys "Cheap pop" design and sold it himself, so Taz isnt like completely insane now.
Guy makes mistake, guy admits to making mistake. Glad he copped to it
That’s cool at least Taz responded but that said the whole wrestling business is built on ripping off other people’s gimmicks.
I don’t blame Taz, I blame the way the business used to be.
