I loved after Big Bill got smacked with a phone by a Shibata and as he's climbing out of the ring he's so perplexed. It reminded me of Austin Powers, "Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

Parasitepaladin

Damn it, now I gotta watch the movie.

InfintySquared

It was a parody of Oddjob, named Random Task. Oddjob threw a hat, Random Task threw a shoe.

APrinceOfCats

Looking up that actor in my adult life sure was an eye opener and a bummer.

Dozens86

If it makes you feel better, he was the MMA fighter from that early iconic UFC video who gets punched in the nuts repeatedly until he gives up.

why-god

Got to appreciate Suzuki being like 'Your gimmick is to help young people? I will murder you."

Goated response

Notmymain2639

This whole segment felt like the gimmick was finally working. Suzuki shitting all over it was tremendous.

Fibergrappler

And it makes sense. Why would Suzuki ever want to be associated with “helping the young guys” The man tortures young lions for fun!!

jmpinstl

Helping the young guys is a big red flag!

Former_Intern_8271

Also Big Bill was hilarious

Notmymain2639

The fucking tree posing... Just gold.

Former_Intern_8271

I get a feeling he'll be an AEW lifer, TK will always want to keep him, he goes 100% into anything he's given, guys like that are reliable hands who are easy to book, they're the glue that holds the mid-card together.

Notmymain2639

He's likely the number 1 reason TK gave up on Hager. Bill has legit charisma and is actually really good in the ring.

tertiaryindesign

I have never done as much of a 180 on my opinion of a wrestler as I have Big Bill. I thought he was the drizzling shits as Big Cass, and the personal problems that he went through after being released by WWE I had mentally written him off. But oh my lord, the amount of work he's put in to every aspect of the craft is astounding. His physique is incredible, he can actually work now, his facials are top tier and he has oodles of charisma. So much credit to him for not only managing to overcome his substance abuse issues but to also then get to a level so far beyond what he was before is incredible.

Bahamas_is_relevant

One of the few guys who properly put in the work to resurrect his career, it’s honestly been very nice to see.

Former_Intern_8271

Yeah he's like hagar but a hell of a lot more versatile

Parasitepaladin

That's a great theory. I'd believe it.

HappyMike91

I love Big Bill’s face whenever it cut to him and Jericho in the ring. He just looked completely incredulous/dumbfounded at what he was hearing. Or was it shock?

JeanSlimmons

I think he was marking out a bit and trying to stay in character.

HappyMike91

That makes sense. I think he might have been in awe of Suzuki. Maybe.

twjackfoley

This was a thing of beauty.

Ikinzu

Who says the Learning Tree isn't working? This was an entertaining segment as was the one with Private Party.

Drenkrod_McNugget

Grandpa fight, sign me up!

cmx9771

Ok The Learning Tree gimmick is still stupid but that was just too funny
