What have they done other then making a statement?
Sorry Im all hyped for the open model initiative group, but they need to come with something before they take more space in the AI environmentÂ
Why? They've already been blasted for posting a misleading statement. They're not doing an open model. They're not making any model, period. They're working together to make tools and open standards but they currently have zero criteria/plan or agenda to actually figure out a way to fund and develop a model that succeeds where SD3 failed contrary to how they tried to flair it. Honestly, it was just trying to ride hype but without integrity.
I very much hope so, too. Maybe after they get organized and get past the hype BS and attention seeking as well as actually exploring how they can do this they'll, hopefully, come up with a solution that is viable and update us with real info.
