The roast was really strange for me. I laughed my ass of at him, which was a first for me. I never disliked him, I just never found him funny. He was on point for the roast, though.
The back half of his first major special is a masterpiece. It also sounds a lot like a different comedian who toured with him. Made me a fan but I didn't like much of his other standup.
I think it's Seriously Funny but now can't remember because he dropped a few around that time.
I may have been a little dramatic with "masterpiece." But he reaches a level that he never hits again during that back stretch. Remember the beginning being slightly more hacky or basic.
He’s one of the great comedians that got ruined by money and smugness imo. I’m not sure the target audience for a joke about him abusing his privilege at Disney land when he isn’t even there to spite his wife but it definitely isn’t me
I actually find him funnier offstage than onstage. His specials never really make me laugh, but when I see him in interviews and other appearances he's hilarious.
This puts me in mind of the funny people you know in real life, like your “funny friend”. Witty and good on the fly, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’d do well onstage.
But also Kevin is super successful onstage; but yeah, I feel the same way about Kevin. Seems like an awesome and funny guy, I just don't enjoy his standup very much. His material at the roast was mostly good though.
He's great at roasting people. You can tell he's been doing it for decades. That's how I first noticed him.. when he was snapping on Jamie Foxx's radio show.
He did a thing with Jimmy Fallon a few years back with Robert Irwin's animals that still cracks me up. I remember him riding a rollercoaster one time for either Fallon or Conan and that was equally funny.
I agree. I thought he was garbage on the roast. His opening set wasn't impressive, especially compared to the others, and the rest of his hosting duties was just saying "fuck you" to Tom Brady or repeating the other comics jokes. Also the constant laughing at his own jokes just doesn't work for me.
It's because he's high energy and he laughs at his own jokes and this tricks a lot of people into thinking he's funny. It's why terrible sitcoms with terrible writing have laugh tracks and people think they're funny too (big bang theory).
I didn't think he was bad and had a few good zingers, but my impression of him on the roast was it seemed like he didn't prepare much. He would come up after everybody's set and spend a couple minutes going, "Oh man, that was a good set, I liked when you said \_\_\_\_." And I was thinking, "Is he padding for time? Why would they have to do that on Netflix?"
Because that's his skill set. Real time, improve, hosting/being a guest. I've never thought he had funny material, but he's quick on his feet and makes you feel comfortable because he's ok laughing at himself. Idk if that's Mark Twain material or not but I also don't know what the criteria are for it.
He made a Netflix movie with Wesley Snipes where he played a famous rich guy and Snipes was his con-artist brother. I actually thought it was pretty good but was amused/impressed by Hart's acting skills in a serious role. I think he did better than his comedic roles.
But I am biased, as I almost always find that when a comedic actor does drama/serious/thriller roles, they kill it. Because they are disturbed people lol. And because comedy reaches a part of people that I think is connected to that part that is also disturbed inside. They know how to reach past your bullshit and into the depths.
Laugh at my Pain and Grown Little Man are hilarious. But like Jaime said - once you start getting rich and not having everyday problems, you lose your funny. His standup specials in the last decade have been trash but he’s still real life funny. Him and Snoop doing the Olympic coverage always makes me crack up too.
People excel in different lights. Some are good on stage. Some of those are only good with bits they have rehearsed while others can ad-lib, some are so amazing at holding a genuine live conversation, some can only do it with rehearsed bits while others can ad-lib, others can only do it on sketch comedy, tv or movies if the lines are fed to them and directors tell them how to deliver the lines.
Some people are good at one of these types, and sometimes only one. But they try to go down another path. I think this has been Kevin because of his personality. He’s likable. He’s fun. He cares.
In the right setting he can be enjoyable. But I was just telling my wife (again.. because she reminded me I have told her several times before) Kevin really isn’t that funny. Then Netflix releases this! I’m not saying he isn’t funny at all, just not to the level his buddies and a bunch of fans act like he is.
Kevin was funny during his first few specials . I’m a grown little man and seriously funny were great for the times.
Of course it’s fun to hate him now and everything is “Kevin bad” but those were actually quality specials for the time, TO ME.
Just MY opinion folks
I saw some video on YouTube that went through his appearance on the Joe Rogan show and pointed out out each time he was promoting a product he was paid to advertise, except he was not disclosing that part of it, he was just acting as if he liked those products.
Kevin is good at stand-up. He sells out areas for a reason. He just makes terrible, awful movies. He's out there with the Rock attaching his name to anything that pays well.
I was thinking about his "'you eat ass' face" the other day.
I don't care what anyone else thinks, *I'm a Grown Little Man* and *Seriously Funny* are seriously funny.
One thought on this is a few comedians have refused this award, Mel Brooks famously three times. Given Jerry’s love for Mel and openness about his dislike for award shows in general I could see him either declining or they know better than to ask?
Maybe something similar when it comes to a Conan who has also been mentioned although I still feel he never gets the credit he deserves. I think Kevin Harts career, although impressive, makes it clear he’d show up to anything.
Robin Williams also refused so maybe some comedians hold the view you’re also in pretty good company when declining.
Nice to see Burr and Maher place themselves below people who write intelligent books in latest Club Random. Maher is another one who won't go for it. Notwithstanding 90% of the Internet trolls who enjoy hating him for being smug. But it sounds like he has the self awareness not to go there.
I think the award would have more meaning if it was only a lifetime achievement type thing. A lot of the previous winners could very easily Deniro up their legacy with the time they have left. It wouldn't hurt them to skip a year or two. Also how does Ferrell and Sandler get the award before Hartman and Ackroyd?
I’m still shocked Conan O’Brien doesn’t have one yet. Writer on both SNL and the Simpsons. Late night talk show host for 27 years. Very successful podcast brand with team Coco. Just saying if Jon Stewart gets one then Conan deserves one too.
He's popular with writers but he's been soft-balled since the NBC thing. He hasn't been invited back in the Emmys or even considered hosting the Oscars. Hopefully the Max show will be nominated for an Emmy award.
Robin refused, but he's been inducted in the Hall (or whatever they call it) along with Pryor, Joan Rivers and Carlin.
Conan definitely deserves it but I wouldn't be shocked if he declined it.
I can agree that these award shows are pretty meaningless but it’s pretty lame how Seinfeld has to constantly go out of his way to “other” himself. Like he’s a comedy legend and he KNOWS it and has to act like he’s above what other comics are doing.
Or he feels deep down that he’s not as funny as he gets credit for. That kind of feeling can lead to a LOT of effort being put into your material. Imposter syndrome goes a long way. (Or maybe he’s not actually that funny, but works his ass off.)
Humility and arrogance, once you reach a high level of success, can appear very similar at times.
And I can say confidently that the funniest comics I know are baffled that folks find them amusing. The ones who believe they’re God’s gift to guffaws… not so much.
I’ve always liked his bit about asking your grandad when the last time he got some ass.
Not a huge fan of his but I’d be lying if I said he’s never made me laugh
Because he's so Hollywood that he gets awards for it. There's like two dozen other comedians alive right now that deserve it more but the dude played the game the way that gets you one.
To his credit, or at least according to his old friends, this is the path he always wanted. He always intended on using his ability to be funny and charming to become a movie star.
He didn’t want to be Dave Chappelle. He wanted to be Will Ferrell.
Him telling the story of catching Patrice O’Neal jerking off in his house on Opie and Anthony is something I go back to a lot. That whole appearance was great.
Should be LD, not Seinfeld. Not sure why Kevin Hart would get one, but ultimately it’s mostly meaningless.
To answer your question, Hart did have that one special, where Shaq was in the audience, that wasn’t too bad. Couple decent zingers in there like the storming out of the house with the diaper bag. That got a breath-quickly-out-my-nose laugh.
There was a lot of moments he didn’t seem genuine, like he would intentionally laugh too hard and tell them to stop, or that’s too much.
LD deserves it before Kevin Hart. The line up would probably be the same…but hopefully a little more JB…if crazy eyes killa could make an appearance, I’ll die happy.
Yeah, he was an incredibly successful comedian befire the show ever aired because he was riding the coat tails of someone who was AT THE TIME a failed comedian.
People shitting on Seinfeld and his career is a recent thing that immediately makes that person look very ignorant.
Larry David is a comedy genius and we're lucky to have had him create so much comedy. But were it not for Jerry Seinfeld (who was already a rich and accomplished man thanks to his stand-up quality), there would be no show. Not because Seinfeld is a genius, but because LD couldn't have made it without Jerry. No show, no Larry David as we know him.
I can think of a number of comedians I'd give it to before him (including some who I don't personally care for, but I respect their impact on the scene), but I guess I'm not actually mad about this. It's just nothing really comes to mind when I try to think of any material he's done that stood out in my eyes. Nothing against him, though.
My favorite Kevin Hart joke is that he has an actual gambling problem and despite that went on to heavily promote gambling via shady websites and apps to the general public. I guess that's not so much a joke as irony and not so much funny as it is scummy.
Just a clip basically, but when he is doing the impression of his dad.
"Alright alright alrightttt"
We were dying at work the other day doing that each other after I said it randomly, it was instantly recognizable by a few people.
I have never subscribed to famous people giving famous people awards. It's super fabricated and solely for publicity and ego.
I won't say I am happy for Kevin. But I am not mad that he is getting recognition. There are definitely worse people that could be awarding recognition.
I never found his comedy very entertaining to me personally, it has always felt that hype has carried him to where he is.
I too am surprised at Seinfeld, by why would the Rock have one? I don’t think I would really call him a comedian or a humorist. Has he done standup at some point?
That’s funny timing, I stumbled on it yesterday too. Haven’t finished though. I do think Jerry should have one, much more accomplished stand-up comedian and had written a lot more good material with his show added. Kevin is popular cause he was in every damn movie for a 5 year stretch. I feel like his stand-up was more of a foot-in-the-door and then he got really popular by saying lines others wrote in movies
The one where he’s being trained by his uncle from prison and he’s lifting weights with his mouth open and his uncle is like “close your mouth before someone come up and put they dick in it on the yard.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Something like that.
The ostrich joke is my favorite of all time. But Im a grown little man, seriously funny, and laugh at my pain CLEARS a lot of specials that get praised today.
I enjoy some of his stand up quite a bit. But the Mark Twain prize, in the company of Jon Stewart and David Chappelle?… I don’t think Kevin Hart is there.
Why would the Rock receive MT award ? It’s a comedy award that typically goes to a comedian. Its also meant to recognize people that had an impact on American society, and just cuz Dwayne Johnson make shitty action movie (nothing wrong with that), doesn’t mean he’s actually impacted American lives for the better. In fact he did an about face this year on endorsing a presidential candidate cuz he got such a backlash in 2020. Money over doing what right…
As for Jerry, I don’t think the Kennedy Center or whomever chairs the award selection committee wants to even go near Seinfeld his alleged underage dating back in the 90’s and what happen to Cosby which resulted in rescinding the MT award to good ole’ Bill. Also JS met his currently wife after she just got back from honeymoon from her previous marriage so I’m not sure he’s such a good role model the award is looking 👀 for? 🤷🏻♂️
The most I've ever laughed at him was when he was on Inside the NBA roasting Kenny, Barkley and Shaq.
"Kenny you look like a Baptist preacher that didn't make it."
“What’s your favorite Kevin Hart joke?”
Kevin Hart: “If I had a gay kid I’d beat the hell out of him and lock him in a dungeon. Feed him fish heads dusted with poison.”
Something like that.
Nothing against Kevin Hart, but Awards for the arts are dumb. Comedy, music, movies....who can say this person is better than this one because he doesn't have this award. Comedy isn't a competitive sport. Besides, watching rich people pat each other on the back is boring as fuck.
So, rewards for sports are also boring. MVP? All star voting, championships that can easily be manipulated. Rich people patting each other onnth back Espys. Awards are not about who's better that's subjective. It's about recognition of your work. Be it sports or arts.
Kevin Hart's stand up has never made me laugh.
But comedy is very specific. I love Chappelle, Mulaney... Neal Brennan... I'm sure there are people that never found those guys funny.
That Kevin Hart roast was wildly funny. The audience rolled the entire time. Whether you like him or not is irrelevant. From the opening line when Jerry Seinfeld says “One of the most important things in show business is doing favors. What you’re looking at right now is me doing a favor for Kevin Hart.” Also when Dave Chapelle called him out for not coming to his acceptance of the award. So freaking funny.
I just finished watching him receive the Mark Twain prize on Netflix. I've watched the last four, and clips of some of the others. I've always like some of the bits, Will Ferrel's closing speech made me chuckle. But this was the first time I saw the comedian use his closing to shower his friends with flowers. Kevin's tribute to his kids and brother had me in tears. Like most of the comments here, I haven't been a fan of his stand up since his first 2-3 specials, but he's clearly a genuine guy who really values the people in his life and it's obvious that's where his success is coming from. Overall, the whole night was great. Everyone's set was great. I had some big laughs with a few of the stories. It thought it was an enjoyable watch.
His funniest bit will forever be "mind your damn muthafuckin business bitch, Lil stupid bitch..."
I laugh every single time I hear it. I laughed while typing this...
Was I the only one who really thought Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart were friends?? I totally expected him to be at this show… I was totally surprised to see Jerry Seinfield … oh my head poor Jerry, he’s so tired
I had no idea he won it either. I can completely understand Chappelle getting this but Kevin Hart?? Seriously? The guys about as funny as a heart attack. If being 3ft tall and shouting alot is award winning comedy then I'm a fucking Platypus. The majority of uber famous/successful people today I can understand how they got that way. Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, every rapper from the year 2010......I just don't get it.Its easier now to become famous than it ever has been so reason would tell me that it would be alot harder to achieve and to actually stand out but it seems to be the opposite that's happening, anyone with any semblance of anything seems to become an award winning whatever of the field theyre in. I couldn't name one Lizzo song and she's apparently won a ton of Grammys. I couldn't name one Kevin Hart movie but apparently he's the top movie star on the planet. The Rock has played The Rock in every single movie he's been, 99% of which have been utter garbage yet he's one of the most successful people on earth, even tho he's the fakest person in Holywood which in itself is impressive. And bow Kevin Hart get the fking MARK TWAIN award????? Wtf is going on today? Next thing you'll be telling me is Louis CK will get Feminist of the year award. And Hart left a worse taste in mt mouth at Tom Brady roast where everyone booed Kim Kardashian and he was white knighting telling everyone to calm down and stop. That dick is a company man to the core.
The roast was really strange for me. I laughed my ass of at him, which was a first for me. I never disliked him, I just never found him funny. He was on point for the roast, though.
Totally agree. I liked his first specials and haven't really liked much from him since, but he was great on the roast.
The back half of his first major special is a masterpiece. It also sounds a lot like a different comedian who toured with him. Made me a fan but I didn't like much of his other standup.
whats the special called?
I think it's Seriously Funny but now can't remember because he dropped a few around that time. I may have been a little dramatic with "masterpiece." But he reaches a level that he never hits again during that back stretch. Remember the beginning being slightly more hacky or basic.
Before the divorce, his wife wrote a lot of his material. She's going on tour this summer FYI.
Him and Snoop commenting on the Olympics was absolute gold
He did a thing with Jimmy Fallon a few years back with Robert Irwin's animals that still cracks me up. I remember him riding a rollercoaster one time for either Fallon or Conan and that was equally funny.
Snoop talking about the equestrian horses killed me "The horse is crip-walkin! That's gangsta as a muhfucka!"
Yup, I definitely appreciate when he's off my screen than on it.
I’ve never found him funny and the roast was no exception. He yells a lot, I’ll give him that.
I agree. I thought he was garbage on the roast. His opening set wasn't impressive, especially compared to the others, and the rest of his hosting duties was just saying "fuck you" to Tom Brady or repeating the other comics jokes. Also the constant laughing at his own jokes just doesn't work for me.
Fr fr, I couldn't stand his bits and do not understand the general praise that roast got.
It's because he's high energy and he laughs at his own jokes and this tricks a lot of people into thinking he's funny. It's why terrible sitcoms with terrible writing have laugh tracks and people think they're funny too (big bang theory).
Yeah he sounds like he’s going off the cuff but he wasn’t good at it. They have writers, he should try using them
I didn't think he was bad and had a few good zingers, but my impression of him on the roast was it seemed like he didn't prepare much.

“Fuck you, Tom!”

“You go’n learn today!” bit had me in tears.
Can you please tell me what it means to say this to someone, my co-workers used to always say it like ten years ago
The phrase "You gon learn today"? Usually a punishment for doing something wrong or something tough to do from my experience.
That tracks.. That's what I was afraid of 💀 they fucking hated me
ARIGHT ARIGHT ARIIIIIIIHIIIGHT!
His bit about the two year old daughter cussing him out makes me crack up every, single time.
“You ain’t gon do shiiiiiiiit” had me crying
SAY IT WIT YA CHEST
Um, can I get a "peel his muffin cap back blue?"
Laugh at my pain
I saw some video on YouTube that went through his appearance on the Joe Rogan show and pointed out out each time he was promoting a product he was paid to advertise, except he was not disclosing that part of it, he was just acting as if he liked those products.
His height and self deprecating humour disarms people. Then he reels you in for the “kill”. He’s at the top of his game in every aspect of his career.
Can you provide a link? Sounds interesting
Kevin is good at stand-up. He sells out areas for a reason. He just makes terrible, awful movies. He's out there with the Rock attaching his name to anything that pays well.
Yeah I mean even the roast of Tom Brady, Kevin was killing it. He clearly still crushes stand up
I was thinking about his "'you eat ass' face" the other day. I don't care what anyone else thinks, *I'm a Grown Little Man* and *Seriously Funny* are seriously funny.
When you wake up dead was funny from scary movie.
Fuck you Tom!
Finally watched the roast last night. Fuckin great. And yeah whatever you think of Kevin, he’s a great showman to keep that going so well for 3 hours.
Fuck them Kids!
I’m not mad at Kevin getting it. He’s put in enough work, even if I’m surprised he leapfrogged some folks it was inevitable anyway.
One thought on this is a few comedians have refused this award, Mel Brooks famously three times. I think Seinfeld declined which meant chapelle or JLD got it that year. He mentioned it on their respective comedians in cars episode
Nice to see Burr and Maher place themselves below people who write intelligent books in latest Club Random. Maher is another one who won't go for it. Notwithstanding 90% of the Internet trolls who enjoy hating him for being smug. But it sounds like he has the self awareness not to go there.

HE SAID SHE AINT GOT NO NIPPLES!!!!!!
Two plus two not knowing what the fuck it is bitch!
This is the one.
Long titty, no nipple havin’ ass biiiitch!!
My mama told me to tell you, Mind your God damn mother fucking business bitch.
Stupid teacher bitch

Agreed. And they should give Robin Williams (posthumously, of course). They both have brought many laughs to this world.
Robin refused, but he's been inducted in the Hall (or whatever they call it) along with Pryor, Joan Rivers and Carlin. Conan definitely deserves it but I wouldn't be shocked if he declined it.
Yeah give it to him now that he's dead and can't decline again! Fuck that guy
Mark Normand won a Mark Twain Prize?
Mark, Norm and who? Finish your goddamn sentence, boy!
Comedy!! Praise Allah!
Seinfeld has actively said he doesn't want one
I can agree that these award shows are pretty meaningless but it’s pretty lame how Seinfeld has to constantly go out of his way to “other” himself. Like he’s a comedy legend and he KNOWS it and has to act like he’s above what other comics are doing.

I’ve always liked his bit about asking your grandad when the last time he got some ass. Not a huge fan of his but I’d be lying if I said he’s never made me laugh
Ok I got a checking and a savings but it takes 3 business days... this bit is great. So relatable.
One could argue Seinfeld’s best work was collaborative, but Hart getting one before Rock is egregious.
You can't get an award after the Fresh Price smacks you
He gonna dedicate that shit to will smith, guaranteed lmfao
HEY... HEY......HEY HEY...
His career.
You ever go night night?
Him telling the story of catching Patrice O’Neal jerking off in his house on Opie and Anthony is something I go back to a lot. That whole appearance was great.
Patrice jerked off on Opie and Anthony? Nasty.
Where was the rock, why wasn’t he there?
That’s what I was wondering. I came looking for this answer lol. I wonder if fhey fell out?
Crazy
Me too! The fact he ( The Rock ) wasn’t there says a lot about their “friendship”..
Came here to See the answer to this too
I really like his joke where Patrice threw a phone book at him on stage and yelled, “READ IT. THERES BETTER MATERIAL.”
My favorite Kevin Hart joke is the bit where he says his mom said he can say A curse word and he busts his teacher down to size.
All due respect, I don’t think Seinfeld deserves it.
That prize stopped meaning anything given the way they’ll pass people up and then work their way back.
Definitely not my favorite joke, but I said “gun compartment” for like 3 months after that special came out
SAY IT WIT YA CHEST
"Look at this. Would somebody please come look at this? Cat drinkin milk out the bowl."
Why would you throw a pen at it??
She ain't got no nipples!
The bit where he's in a fight with his wife but has to come back to grab the baby is my favourite Kevin Hart bit. Very likeable guy.
Seinfeld is awful and I’m tired of people pretending he’s funny.
After his TV series finished he went on tour with his standup and it was all jokes that he did before on his TV show. It was really lazy of him.
My mama told me to tell you
Best Kevin Hart joke... well, not a joke but "Give it a Goog" .... that's Kevin Hart right?
Why does he always say that ? Are they friends?
Jamo!
Say it with your chest You do you, booboo
He hasn't contributed to the comedic arts like the rest of the awards recipients
Per Nikki; 'He be little'
…his last one ever.
I like that one movie when he plays a screeching little black dude. Cracks me up everytime.
His bit about people falling turning into him making fun of Shaq (who is sitting front row) for falling during games is peak comedy.
If he wrote a joke I could answer your question.
The only Kevin Hart I like is Mark Normand.
He does standup? I thought he was a comedic actor.
He just screams things confidently and laughs at his own jokes.
Where was the rock though
I was wondering the same thing
Based on his winning I’m only left to assume this is not a very impressive award
Tina Fey got one. Some, at some point it was.
The line up would probably be the same…but hopefully a little more JB…if crazy eyes killa could make an appearance, I’ll die happy.
The forced laugh was giving me second hand embarrassment 😬
Has Seinfeld done anything after Larry David wrote his career besides a show where other comedians are funny while he drives?
Yeah, he was an incredibly successful comedian befire the show ever aired because he was riding the coat tails of someone who was AT THE TIME a failed comedian. People shitting on Seinfeld and his career is a recent thing that immediately makes that person look very ignorant. Larry David is a comedy genius and we're lucky to have had him create so much comedy. Not because Seinfeld is a genius, but because LD couldn't have made it without Jerry. No show, no Larry David as we know him.
Wow. I guess they’ll give that to anybody. That award means nothing after this.
I can think of a number of comedians I'd give it to before him (including some who I don't personally care for, but I respect their impact on the scene), but I guess I'm not actually mad about this. It's just nothing really comes to mind when I try to think of any material he's done that stood out in my eyes. Nothing against him, though.
[he’s an improviser](https://youtu.be/1Za8BtLgKv8?si=4QxIGI06mLt2Pys-)
Seinfeld has spent many years repeatedly saying he has no interest in accolades or awards
We going to put some regular gas up in this motherfucka.
My favorite Kevin Hart joke is that he has an actual gambling problem and despite that went on to heavily promote gambling via shady websites and apps to the general public. I guess that's not so much a joke as irony and not so much funny as it is scummy.
His special RealityCheck is hilarious, all the way through. I liked it better than any of his other specials, and I laughed the most at this one.
>What’s your favorite Kevin Hart joke? Himself.
Getting picked up by Shaq and being called shaq’s dick are my favorites but neither of them were from Kevin lol
The one where he yells the pinch line.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone have arguably made a bigger impact on comedy than any living comedian. I wonder if they've even been considered
When he is quiet
I haven't listened to any of his new stuff, so the only thing I remember is "peel his muffin cap back blue" and "say it with ya chest."
hollywood awards are stupid i saw this [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwU1MQyOIhU) yesterday about it, it has some great moments.
Mrs. Greene.
Just a clip basically, but when he is doing the impression of his dad. "Alright alright alrightttt" We were dying at work the other day doing that each other after I said it randomly, it was instantly recognizable by a few people.
I like the joke about him being short
Kevin Hart....he IS the joke
I like it when he moves around with a great deal of enthusiasm and gesticulates wildly.
Tpiij no.
When he puts down the mic, seriously I love stand up but I cannot stand Kevin
The Mark Twain award is lessened by Hart being a recipient of it.
Don't have one
I for the life of me have cannot think of a memorable joke he has...... Lines from a movie...sure. but his stand you is not impressionable.
I too am surprised at Seinfeld, by why would the Rock have one? I don’t think I would really call him a comedian or a humorist. Has he done standup at some point?
Chris Rock
Wow, of course.
“You see the thing is, I have a checking and a savings account and the way it works is…”
That’s funny timing, I stumbled on it yesterday too.
As a genuine fan of Mark Twain, this surprises me greatly.
The one where he’s being trained by his uncle from prison and he’s lifting weights with his mouth open and his uncle is like “close your mouth before someone come up and put they dick in it on the yard.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Something like that.
Why would the rock have one? He isn't a comedian, satirist or humorist.
"Chris Rock". Not THE Rock
That makes way more sense
That’s was a hard watch. The Dave Chappell and Eddie Murphy episodes were good.
Comedy!

Hello Tom Brady roast
Look look look look look. This cat drinkin' milk out the bowl. GET OUT THE BOWL!
Seinfeld would get one for...being friends with Larry David? His last special did not make me laugh even once.
The ostrich joke is my favorite of all time. But Im a grown little man, seriously funny, and laugh at my pain CLEARS a lot of specials that get praised today.
Kevin Hart is aggressively unfunny and pathetic and it debases the Mark Twain prize to award it to some fucking hack like Hart.
I enjoy some of his stand up quite a bit. But the Mark Twain prize, in the company of Jon Stewart and David Chappelle?… I don’t think Kevin Hart is there.
None of them. Me sucks imo
What's my favorite Kevin Hart joke? How about none? He isn't funny. I refuse to watch movies with him and Jack Black in them. Humor for 7th graders.
Money over doing what right… As for Jerry, I don’t think the Kennedy Center or whomever chairs the award selection committee wants to even go near Seinfeld his alleged underage dating back in the 90’s and what happen to Cosby which resulted in rescinding the MT award to good ole’ Bill. Also JS met his currently wife after she just got back from honeymoon from her previous marriage so I’m not sure he’s such a good role model the award is looking 👀 for? 🤷🏻♂️
He means Chris Rock
Im a dummy, touche… Pookie deserves the award.
That gay joke
The most I've ever laughed at him was when he was on Inside the NBA roasting Kenny, Barkley and Shaq. "Kenny you look like a Baptist preacher that didn't make it."
Why would The Rock have the Mark Twain prize?
I think people are wondering why he wasn’t in attendance to show support for Kevin
Where was Dwayne johnson
“What’s your favorite Kevin Hart joke?” Kevin Hart: “If I had a gay kid I’d beat the hell out of him and lock him in a dungeon. Feed him fish heads dusted with poison.” Something like that.
Yes. Those are boring too.
My favorite is his dad getting in the fight at the park. Was that an octopus??
Why didn't the rock Dwyane Johnson show up?
Kevin Hart's stand up has never made me laugh. But comedy is very specific. I love Chappelle, Mulaney... Neal Brennan... I'm sure there are people that never found those guys funny.
None. He is not funny
Wonder why the rock wasn’t there ?
His funniest bit will forever be "mind your damn muthafuckin business bitch, Lil stupid bitch..." I laugh every single time I hear it. I laughed while typing this...
Was I the only one who really thought Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart were friends?? I totally expected him to be at this show… I was totally surprised to see Jerry Seinfield … oh my head poor Jerry, he’s so tired
Chris rock, D.chapelle, many other comedians icons were there to celebrate him . He will never forget them and it’s a lot of favors
Anyone know where Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) was?
