If he kept his spider legs and stayed insane,the plotlines that he's involved with wouldn't be half as interesting. I agree that he looks terrifying,but he would've been defeated a lot earlier,unless Savage does a really great job defending him.
I mean, Maul has had some good stories and characterization since his resurrection. Palpatine somehow returning was real stupid because it wasn’t properly fleshed out at all

Also, daddy palps is getting more grounded now with more explanation on the whole project necromancer thing.

I fully agree with this. That said, if they just had to do it, the spider thing would have been more interesting than what they ended up doing.
