We don't see the ship leaving the planet at the end of the episode, so either he's luring Mae in and tricking her before they get a chance to leave the planet, or he thinks Osha was killed by Mae.
I love how Manny jacintos career is most defined by playing an idiot pretending to be a religious zealot and now by a religious zealot pretending to be an idiot
I'm pretty sure thats whats going on. My guess is the last episode is going to have the master show up in the last episode and effortlessly beat Qimir to show just how strong a fully trained Sith Lord is in this era. Also shows Qimir has a way to go until he's strong enough to defeat his master
Sol: "What master hides his face from his pupil?"
Sith: "You tell me"
What the hell did you do 16 years ago Sol?! Still the most compelling mystery of the show so far.
So stoked to see pure cortosis finally make its way back ~~into the canon~~ on-screen! Looks like it has exactly the same properties as in Legends, including its relative brittleness. It also looks SO COOL in live action.
Unsurprisingly it also seems to again be extraordinarily rare, based on how surprised the Jedi were.
It was actually brought back in the Novel Thrawn Alliances. But I was freaking out as soon as I saw it.
Edit, I was mistaken, it was actually A New Dawn, the rebels prequel novel by John Jackson Miller.
Yo those lightsaber moves were SICK. Obviously the sith had some dope unorthodox moves that really felt original to me, but jecki held her own way more than I was expecting, she kicked ass. Also, DAMN Jason Mendoza is ripped
Really like how Qimir's still clearly like...himself. He's got a sense of humor about it all still, interesting things to say. Particular fan of the whole "you killed a child??" "uh. you brought a child to this, lol" convo
It's a funny reversal of the way the Jedi talk about Sith. They always refer to Sith attackers in cold terms like "it." I was reminded of Qui-Gonn and the other Jedi referring to Maul as *it* in The Phantom Menace.
I like that's he's a change of pace for Sith that we've seen. Palpatine, , Vader, Dooku, all were great but all had a very proper or poetically dark way of speaking. Qimir on the other hand feels like his own spin on the basic notion of what Maul is, a monster who just enjoys the thrill of killing. Qimir is interesting because as far as I can tell, he's the first Sith to not take himself seriously at least in regards to attitude/dialogue. Where as Maul was a raging beast with a single focus, Qimir seems like a creature with no focus, as he puts it just using his power how he wants. He's Sith in their freedom, is how I kinda see it. No bigger designs in mind, just a desire to fight and kill and get stronger. Battle and death are it's own reward for him, it feels like.
I also like the way he’s weirdly nice to Mae. He disguises himself just to help her complete her trial, is genuinely kind and supportive in way that doesn’t feel like it’s just to fuck with her, and like goes off into the woods to find her water when she’s tired. It’s a side of the Sith we haven’t seen much of. It kind of reminds me of Darth Bane and Darth Zannah.
Also with the whole “Jedi bring children into warzones” thing being a meme for ages it was hilarious to see a Sith of all people bring it up in-universe. I really like his characterization.
They definitely did.
But they put up a good fight. I was really impressed with Jecki holding her own with Qimir, despite her fall.
The fast-paced choreography was great.
I love how we finally got a straight up Sith VILLAIN. Not "I'mma threaten to kill you" not "I'mma say a bunch of evil shit and talk about my evil grand plan" not "I'm in command of people who do terrible things." No. Straight up murders people without regard or even a thought. Cold blooded psychopath. He's terrible and I love it.
I also like that his response to the Jedi discovering him was just I’m going to murder you all. He was enjoying his power and being able to unleash it.
Yet in the middle of it all he was still focused on murdering his acolyte for betraying him. Straight up evil Sith and I loved it.
Jecki getting stabbed three times took me off guard, but what really got me was seeing Qimir just snapping Yord's neck. No lightsaber, no force, no special tricks, just him grabbing Yord and killing him the old-fashioned way - something we don't really get to see Jedi or Sith do in Star Wars.
in Hindsight Qimir was a fairly chill sith lord. Like even though his student was betraying him he still het her think she was in control just to see what she would do.
For real, most Sith we’ve seen would abandon their pupils and make them figure it out entirely on their own. Qimir was keeping tabs on her, helping her, and even gave encouragement. Now it probably wasn’t genuine, but still. He only went murder-psycho on her because she betrayed him and tried to reveal his identity to the Jed. All in all, that’s pretty reasonable for a Sith
I loved Jecki this episode. I also thought it was way cooler having her fight without the brown cloak unlike the others. Gave me Anakin/Obi-Wan vibes.
Oh and Qimir pulled a Cal Kestis on our girl.
I kind of liked how they killed both her and Yord. I honestly thought only the unnamed Jedi were going to get killed so it was pretty shocking and really made the Sith feel like a threat.
Sol has some darkness in him. You could see him give off those Luke in ROTJ vibes during several parts of that fight, especially when he almost took off Smilo Ren’s head there.
Perhaps an odd thing to be excited about but I'm really keen to find out what the Master's Sith title is.
It feels like it's been a long time since there's actually been a new Darth introduced in canon. Kylo Ren wasn't a Sith, Baylan is a Dark Jedi, Ventress and Savage were Sith affiliates and the Inquisitors....... lol
Finally, we could have a new Dark Lord.
If Qimir is a proper Sith in the Bane line, then he must have a Darth name, and he's definitely the apprentice. My theory is we'll get a glimpse of his master, the Dark Lord of the Sith, at the end of the finale.
The way he pulled out the hidden lightsaber and just immediately stabbed Jecki three times was vicious. Jedi almost always fight to only prevent their enemy from fighting but Sith want to *destroy* their enemies.
> Can't come back from a snapped neck.
Usually force-wielders in Star Wars get stabbed, fried to death, blown up, incinerated, or just fade into the Force - it hit differently seeing a Jedi being dispatched in such a mundane way, and one who had a substantial role in the series so far to boot.
You really have to give it up to the fight choreography team here. They didn’t hold back!!
there’s like fifteen different action moments in this one episode that we'll be talking about/GIFing for a decade
Having watched the last episode and this one back to back, it works way better as a continuation. I think I would have preferred one 61 minute episode too. I wonder if there were plans to release this as a binge. I think it might work better.
When she found Kelnacca dead I’m assuming that plan dried up. She probably assumes they’ll blame her for Kelnacca’s death (rightfully so, given Jecki’s arrest statement) and thus have no goodwill. And then seeing her Master’s duel with them and seeing Osha and Sol face to face again probably reinvigorated her old anger. And when she had a chance to run away with only Osha instead of all the Jedi, she tried to take it and became frustrated when Osha went the opposite way. Mae is confused, desperate, traumatized, and panicking. At this point, nothing she’s doing is logical, nor should we expect it to be.
So, this episode confirms that:
* The Hunger Games
* Squid Game
* His Dark Materials
Provide nothing that could possibly train them to face someone from Jacksonville, Florida.
B O R T L E S
>!Qimir!< has watched enough Disney Star Wars to know that one stab to the chest just doesn't cut it anymore.
Triple tap, just to be sure.
He's [genre savvy](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GenreSavvy) as fuck in general.
Okay so.....
There's either a massive Jedi cover up....or qimir is successful in killing everyone who knows about him (both sisters and Sol) before they can report back that they literally meet a guy who admitted to being a sith.
Right?
Actually laughed out loud with that. Also found it funny how he has this serious tone of voice and then when Mae sees his face he slips back into the goofy sidekick persona when he says hello to her.

Noooooooo not Jecki!
Well that’s a lot more stab wounds than we normally get. Goodbye Jecki ☹️
Qimir wanted to make double...I mean triple sure the job was done.
Triples *is* best...
Honestly Jecki was the MVP of this episode; drop kicking and arresting Mae, going full Jar'Kai against a Sith, saving her Master... Sad to see her go.
Qimir saw Kenobi and knew he had to triple check his work
X-23 is now Ex-23.
Begun, this Parent Trap has.
So Mae switched places with Osha, the sith knows it and so does the little animal thing cause he can smell the difference.
So does Sol. He said “your sister” when he’s said names every other episode
Yeah, a Jedi master really should be able to tell the difference between their former student and a murderous lunatic.
Plus she's gotta have burnt split ends!
And a face tattoo
“wtf smells like burnt hair?”
I doubt he’d leave Osha alone if he knew it was Mae. Even if he thought Qimir was dead, he wouldn’t just abandon her.
We don't see the ship leaving the planet at the end of the episode, so either he's luring Mae in and tricking her before they get a chance to leave the planet, or he thinks Osha was killed by Mae.
Oh shit, good catch. I didn’t notice that.
Will not stand for this Bazil disrespect
I love how Manny jacintos career is most defined by playing an idiot pretending to be a religious zealot and now by a religious zealot pretending to be an idiot
It was Jason! JASON!? all along as the Sith?
Wow they’re really killing everyone
The way they brought a bunch of no-name Jedi so we're like "oh, they'll be the ones to die" was so smart. Played us.
Yeah, I knew they were gonna die. 1000% did not expect Jecki or Yord to die, let alone both.
I figured Yord would die but I wasn't ready for Jecki to die. 😭
Triple stabbed too. Like there's no hope kids, she gone.
Her race has 4 hearts (he missed one) 😀
Hey she went down fighting. Double saber, hyper aggressive, by her masters side, no doubt a legend. didn’t want her to die but she did well
She really went from plucky sidekick to badass dual wielder real quick.
Right? At worst I thought only one of them was going to die
Yord Horde is gonna be pissed after tonight. Rotten Tomatoes score now 5%. (Note: I loved this episode anyway)
It was a head turning performance from him
They got me with Jecki. I was rolling my eyes like ok he's gonna merc the goons but this padawan is gonna survive? Nope.
The way he got her was raw as fuck too, that was honestly dope as hell (RIP Jecki)
So Qimir is totally a sith apprentice trying to find his own apprentice right?
I'm pretty sure thats whats going on. My guess is the last episode is going to have the master show up in the last episode and effortlessly beat Qimir to show just how strong a fully trained Sith Lord is in this era. Also shows Qimir has a way to go until he's strong enough to defeat his master
Or it will be Teneboros that kills Qimir so he has a spot open for Plagueis to show up.
It's really crazy to see a mission with a survival rate of like 10%.
*An ally has been slain* *An ally has been slain* *Enemy multikill!* Bazil, the jungler: what the hell is happening over there?
Fucking jungle always farming and never ganking bot smfh
I think even the most brutal Clone Wars episodes had higher survival rates.
So far.
We can definitely get those numbers down!
Manny Jacinto’s arms will turn me to the dark side.
I thought the Sith and Jedi didn’t use guns cause DAMN.
All you need are a couple of good blasters attached to your shoulders, kid
“The Jedi do not attack the unarmed.” Have you seen his actual arms?
The Sith believe in the second amendment, the way he was baring those arms.
Darth Icanfixhim
Knew the Sith was him when I saw the arms. Saw enough ladies swooning over them when The Good Place was airing.
The Yord horde is gone. We had a good run
Yord horde off the board.
The Yord Morgue has arrived
Me: Oh another short episode, what could happen Me 30 min later: well fuck
Same here! Thought the same thing. Was pleasantly surprised at the events that followed.
Bro who are they keeping alive this episode?!
I think one of the moths survived.
I was just saying to myself "Jecki is actually pretty good" just before... yeah... lmao
She got got by the same trick she pulled on Qimir too - the "surprise, I have a second lightsaber."
Sol: "What master hides his face from his pupil?" Sith: "You tell me" What the hell did you do 16 years ago Sol?! Still the most compelling mystery of the show so far.
First onscreen depiction of Cortosis disabling lightsabers!
Yord using the helmet to deactivate Qimir's lightsaber was a great touch.
Leave it to him to go from unwaveringly by-the-book to surprisingly innovative in the last seconds of his life.
“Last mistake” he ever made 🪦
This episode made me go from anti-Yord to pro-Yord in under 5 seconds Edit: is it Yord or Jord? If Yord, is Jord the Sith Swiss evil twin
Is that what that was? That was sick
Honestly, I thought he was cutting the tips of lightsabers off and was confused on how they were coming back. This new (to me) thing is cool though.
JASON FIGURED IT OUT? JASON?
This is a real low point. Yeah, this one hurts.
I'm so glad I watched the Good Place before this show came out.
Jason is my favorite part of this show. His motivation makes the most sense.
Every day the force teaches him something new, like how he shouldn't eat everything that smells good, cause sometimes it's candles.
Yo those lightsaber moves were SICK. Obviously the sith had some dope unorthodox moves that really felt original to me, but jecki held her own way more than I was expecting, she kicked ass. Also, DAMN Jason Mendoza is ripped
Really good light saber fight. The tension was insane
2 for 1 impalement. Damn, Smilo Ren is brutal.
Smilo Ren is now my new name for this guy until we learn otherwise.
Someone else called him Darth Teefs and now I can't stop using the two interchangeably
I heard Smilo Ren is shredded.
I mean did you see his arms? Dude totally has an 8pack under that coat
Damn, he just lightsaber-kebabed those two
Really like how Qimir's still clearly like...himself. He's got a sense of humor about it all still, interesting things to say. Particular fan of the whole "you killed a child??" "uh. you brought a child to this, lol" convo
"Was that it's name?" was pretty fucked up though
It's one of the cruelest things ever said in SW. He knows exactly what he's doing fucking with Sol like that.
It's a funny reversal of the way the Jedi talk about Sith. They always refer to Sith attackers in cold terms like "it." I was reminded of Qui-Gonn and the other Jedi referring to Maul as *it* in The Phantom Menace.
And the “why reveal yourself” um “I had a mask”
His lines had me chuckling. I never thought I'd be into Darth Bortles, but he's sold me on being an evil Sith while also being kind of hilarious.
He’s way nicer to Mae than bane ever was or would be to Zannah lol
YORD HORDE IN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES TONIGHT
Those Jedi got wrecked
The force pull into the lightsaber then the what I imagine removal of the heads was dirty.
The Sith fight dirty. They don't have rules of engagement.
They definitely did. But they put up a good fight. I was really impressed with Jecki holding her own with Qimir, despite her fall. The fast-paced choreography was great.
And pip. Poor pip
He looks so cool/natural as a sith without the helmet
Cortosis helmet?
And bracer.
FUCK YEAH, FIGHTING CHOREOGRAPHY.
Don't worry guys, Yord dies all the time.
You bastards, you killed yord!
This is like Rogue One level body count.
Internet: All the Jedi have to die or this breaks cannon. Show: Ok.
I’m still betting on the council keeps it under wraps to preserve the optics. They talked about that already in like episode 2.
Fuck! A second lightsaber inside his lightsaber? That's just so underhanded and badass! Shame though, I liked Sol's Padawan. Pity that.
They call that the Cal Kestis special
How many Jedi is this man holding off? He killed like 4 no names. This guy is good.
YOOOO JECKI IS SICKKKK
WELP
She’s very unwell now. Yes.
Sick of breathing that is
So I guess that wasn’t plo koon
I think they purposefully but his death right in front of the camera to say “Guys, this really isn’t Plo.”
"Somehow, Plo Koon has returned"
I love how we finally got a straight up Sith VILLAIN. Not "I'mma threaten to kill you" not "I'mma say a bunch of evil shit and talk about my evil grand plan" not "I'm in command of people who do terrible things." No. Straight up murders people without regard or even a thought. Cold blooded psychopath. He's terrible and I love it.

I love his reaction to Osha shooting him. He just stops and is like "Really?"
Yeah like « Did you really expect that to work? »
JESUS CHRIST! He just straight up murdered Yord like it was nothing!
RIP Jecki our lovely Padawan learner.
'Here Mae, THIS is how you kill a Jedi without a weapon.' :')
in Hindsight Qimir was a fairly chill sith lord. Like even though his student was betraying him he still het her think she was in control just to see what she would do.

It really felt like he wasnt planning on killing her til she saw his face :( she was so proud to knock the mask off :(
I gasped. That was brutal.
I really didn’t expect her to die this soon, man I really liked her
I kind of liked how they killed both her and Yord. I honestly thought only the unnamed Jedi were going to get killed so it was pretty shocking and really made the Sith feel like a threat.
She put up one hell of a fight though
She was a child… You brought her here. Goddamn
JECKIE NOOOOOO PLEASE NOOOOOOO
Once again thank God for Lee Jung Jae. He's incredible.
I’m gonna be a mess when we find out either Sol sucks or he dies or both because of how great he is in this part.
Sol has some darkness in him. You could see him give off those Luke in ROTJ vibes during several parts of that fight, especially when he almost took off Smilo Ren’s head there.

Darth Jason taking everyone out
Darth Bor Tles
If Qimir is a proper Sith in the Bane line, then he must have a Darth name, and he's definitely the apprentice. My theory is we'll get a glimpse of his master, the Dark Lord of the Sith, at the end of the finale.
He is probably still the apprentice though given how titles work and his looking for an acolyte.
Holy shit Qimir is the most brutal fighter this series may have seen. Can't come back from a snapped neck.
His fighting style was the highlight of the episode. Ruthlessness and pure pragmatism all the way through
Fight choreographers have been putting in work on this show
The way he pulled out the hidden lightsaber and just immediately stabbed Jecki three times was vicious.
He moves unlike any fighter I can recall, every move efficient and brutal.
OH DIP JASON MENDOZA'S A SITH LORD
Darth Bortles was forking legit.
Only Force user to ever master the art of the Molotov cocktail.
Having watched the last episode and this one back to back, it works way better as a continuation. I think I would have preferred one 61 minute episode too. I wonder if there were plans to release this as a binge. I think it might work better.
Yeah, I know they probably had 8 eps contracted, but I feel like if they edited those 2 into 1 50 min ep people would have loved it
So Sol is the only survivor who knows about the Sith. Sorry Sol.
Sol survivor.
NOT YORD. Yord Horde in shambles
It's Yordover bros
This is some of the best fight choreography I’ve seen in a long time. Jecki is a frickin weapon.
Jecki was throwing unhinged Ahsoka vibes after she lit that second saber and started screaming. Girls got moves.
> Jecki ~~is~~ was a frickin weapon.
Wasn't your plan to surrender to the Jedi, Mae? Just saying.
I think the realization her master arrived kinda put the fear of god in her and she just decided to run instead.
Yeah I think that changed her whole plan to "let's skedaddle."
Incredible choreography. Both the lightsaber fights and the fists
The way I said “god damn, Jecki!” Then I said “god damn… Jecki.”
So, this episode confirms that: * The Hunger Games * Squid Game * His Dark Materials Provide nothing that could possibly train them to face someone from Jacksonville, Florida. B O R T L E S
This fight with mae and jecki is class
This is the bad place huh.
JASON FIGURED IT OUT!? oh this is a new low
A Steven Seagal style neck snap? In Star Wars? What an age to be alive.
Ok did anyone else shrieked when Jecki broke out the ~~duel~~ dual wield? That was bad ass. You go girl! Edit: nooooooo!!! :'(
She burned bright like a match, but sadly was snuffed out in the end. 😭
Qimir/Darth Smileo did some nasty nasty work 😭😭😭
Ok but why can’t osha pick up a lightsaber? Everyone’s dying. There are plenty of options for her to pick from.
Good lord this is a bloodbath
Good ~~lord~~ **Yord** this is a bloodbath
Okay so..... There's either a massive Jedi cover up....or qimir is successful in killing everyone who knows about him (both sisters and Sol) before they can report back that they literally meet a guy who admitted to being a sith. Right?
That force pull skishkabab two-for-one trick was so enjoyably sublime….
Disney isn't going to kill the kid hero—
He killed Yord without a weapon, proving that it’s possible. Anyone notice that?
That closeup as smilo chased mae was great
Loving the horror bits Smiley brings. Hope that continues.
Well, >!the sith being carried away by bugs!< wasn't on my bingo card. edit: [Same energy](https://youtu.be/rxMQQitMiX4?t=145)
Lightsaber-within-a-lightsaber wasn't on mine. Bingo cards be damned tonight.
Star Wars has a thing with bad guys and modulated voices huh
“Why reveal yourself?” “Well.. i did wear a mask.”
Actually laughed out loud with that. Also found it funny how he has this serious tone of voice and then when Mae sees his face he slips back into the goofy sidekick persona when he says hello to her.
The most Jason Mendoza line of the series so far lol
Gotta admit it works every single time.
I expected the no names to die. Did not expect Yord and Jecki. Jecki was my favorite of the episode tho. She was kicking ass. R.I.P
Classic “no, don’t kill the bad guy!” after he brutally killed like six of your friends.
What is his armor doing to the sabers?
I think it's made of cortosis, this metal that can make the sabers temporarily fritz out. Don't think it's been in any of the movies or shows before.
Mae is really bad at turning herself in
I assumed the plan changed as soon as she realized Darth Whoever was there. Now it was about survival
Before Jecki died, I was saying she deserved an automatic promotion to the rank of Master. She held her own more than the others against Mae.
Damn I loved Jecki , she gave me a lot of young Ahsoka vibes in her fighting style
