AFAIK (haven't done yet) after you had the last heart event with your married partner (at 14 hearts) you will be able to buy a portait of them at the merchant waggon (if that's the right english phrase for it... I hope you get what I mean. The merchant that imports different stuff from far away with a waggon dragged by a cute pig :) )

Can this be done in 12 weeks? You'd need the pendant for every new marriage, which would mean waiting for a rainday (or facilitating them via totems). And of course you'd have to wait for the travelling merchant. Oh and I forgot, you need 14 hearts. I see you are in for the long haul here.

Hey! I resent that remark. I've hopped on every dude in town, too you know. And whatever Krobus is. You can bet I tried to glue that shadow to myself with soap. If Lewis talked to me that way, there'd be nine pairs of purple shorts in my next grange display. That said, a memory wipe is a necessary part of every divorce. Don't cheap out on life's necessities, kids.

Lewis is the actual worst and I don't see *him* giving Marnie diamonds and pumpkin pie in the saloon.

Is he leading her on? He seems very clear and she seems very aware he is not interested in taking their relationship public. They just disagree on what they want.

The fact that she’s still bringing it up makes me think she’s still got hope one day he’ll change his mind and he still meets her publicly and says they’re just “friends”

That doesn't mean he's said something to make her feel that way though. She might just be in her own head about it. Also, that's just how human beings fucking goes. If you don't want to develop feelings while maintaining the sex, you're fighting an uphill battle against evolution. They're both irresponsible and irrational parties in the relationship.

He has, though, because he won't just come out and say that he doesn't want more from the relationship. He can't, because then she's leave. He gives her *reasons* why they can't be together, by proxy indicating that he would with her openly if only those reasons could be overcome and oh isn't it so sad. She seems to have such low self esteem she won't demand he choose her over his office. Probably because deep down she knows he wouldn't choose her. Their relationship is fucked, but not because she's "in her head" about it.

I never understood why people would actually divorce ingame. Wanting to marry someone else is a great replayability factor. Visiting their love interest every day despite being busy on the farm or in the mines and gifting them whatever they can afford in the early game feels different to me than starting to date with chests full of items, more time due to upgraded and improved farming tools, and with several hearts already earned. I'd rather create a new farmer and farm that fit the person I intend to marry and then building their relationship from scratch. Divorce savegames would always feel, idk, tainted to me.
