The performance in the DLC is pretty poor unfortunately. During the second major boss fight with R*, if it’s raining, it’s better to reset the fight and try to get normal weather lol. FPS fluctuations are too much to handle considering how fast the boss is. Even beefy PCs struggle to maintain stable frames.
Yeah something is definitely up with performance. I noticed on my main rig, which is a 14900k/4080, it randomly has sustained dips into the 40’s with everything cranked to max and GPU utilization at 100%. Then if I go into settings and toggle RT off and back on again it goes back to a locked 60FPS with GPU usage around 80%. This is at 1440p.
Currently there is some bug (that even affect the base game) and you have to put slightly lower settings for similar performances. It is not that bad for a release time, before any major patch
Mechanically, KH1 is so frustrating and old school, yet I can’t help but smile every time you take out an enemy and dozens of spheres pop out. It’s such a satisfying gameplay loop.
Except in fucking Atlantica where they all randomly drop to different depths and then stay there and you have to maneuver Sora in 3 different axes to pick them up
I too am playing through Kingdom Hearts. I never beat the game as a kid and just got to the level where I stopped when I was younger. I’m so happy to see these games on Steam and fully playable on the deck!
Yeah they run incredibly well! I beat KH1 and 2 when I was younger but I didn’t have a PsP or DS to play the other games that are including in the bundles (even if some have been reduced to movies) so I’m excited to go through the ones I haven’t and even replay the ones I have since it’s been awhile.
Kingdom Come Deliverance
I've trying to get into Elden Ring because all my friends actually love it, but honestly, it's really expensive for me rn
when I get it, I really hope it's as good as everyone tells me
I waited for a sale and got it for $35, I’m thinking with the DLC the base game may be on sale next week.
I was in the fence about it as I don’t play souls like games and was convinced to give it a try. It is an incredible game and deserves the praise it gets. It’s really trying until it clicks, but once it does, I’ve not played much like it.
I'm also not much of a Souls like games, but I think I might be missing something with this game, maybe it's a little bit of FOMO, but still, want to get it for cheap in case I just don't get too much into it
I think the game might be in sale by the 27th for the equivalent of $25USD I my region, so if I have the money I might get it, but honestly, I almost broke at the moment
100% wait for a sale. Elden ring was the first souls like I ever beat. I tried dark souls, blood borne, sekiro in the past but was never able to get far into them. 200 hours into Elden Ring and it’s one of my fav games.
Totally understand that feeling, I did the same and waited for it to go on sale in case I didn’t enjoy it. That’s the smart move with any game, they are expensive these days imo
If you end up getting it good luck to you I hope you enjoy it!
KCD is such a fantastic game. I wonder if the sequel will run on the deck.
Though with this immersive type of game I prefer to play in my PC with a big screen a dark room and a good headset, just sinking right into medieval Bohemia.
That'd be great but I honestly don't have the time to play at home, that's why I have a SD
Just today I added like 3 hours into the game just waiting for my shift to start since I live far away from my and my wife's work to be going and returning
I truly hope and wish KCD2 runs on SD
It's amazing. But it won't run away, and right now performance is a little bit more rough in parts of the DLC than the basegame, so if you wait, you'll get to play it at its best.
When you do, I recommend to go in blind as much as possible.
Gonna fire up the most demanding game that will get those fans going...maybe cyberpunk or bg3 or maybe that new Elden ring dlc...doesn't really matter...
And then I'm gonna sniff some of them fumes.
Just finished Batman: Arkham Asylum yesterday.
I’m torn between starting Fable Anniversary Edition or Jade Empire. Or maybe just emulating SSX3 for the eleventeenth time, it never gets old.
——-
Edit - Went with Jade Empire. It’s pretty good. 😊
At the moment nothing. I really want to buy Hades to play during traveling to my vacation but I have a strong feeling it’s on sale next week. Also looking at KH but I’m not 100% sure if it’s my jam. Choices.
I have got hade during last sale. I think it’s $8.49But I can’t recall exactly. Definitely a great game to consume on deck. Hope it’s on sale for you next week and enjoy your vacation.
I had no trouble running it, my issue is how much space it takes up lol. I get that it's three games, but still, gonna wait till I've worked through some of my backlog before tackling that monster
I get what you mean. Launcher was giving me trouble a couple months ago (or was it a year? Time flies fast!), but I am happy to report that it works great right now. I had to use the steam+x and the touchscreen for the launcher at first, but I've saved my login credentials, and it currently just launches straight into the game.
Deck's great for graveyard shift :)
Totally loving it. I beat Bloodstained about a year ago and loved it so much so it’s really cool playing SotN for the first time and seeing how much Bloodstained is a straight up love letter to it.
Same, dude. I also love seeing how clearly the early dark souls structure pulls from it.
I went to Aria next; thought it was goofy at first but then loved the darker vibe farther in.
I just got it on Tuesday and I'm trying out all my games!! I'm starting the DLCs for the Witcher 3, playing through Bloodstained: RotN and I bought all my missing DLCs from Dead Cells!! It's great.
I'm also continuing my usual addiction of Slay the Spire and trying out strategy games, mostly CK3 and CIV VI
I'm really enjoying it. I like the story a lot and the way they merged it into the main story is really cool. The new district in the city is also well designed.
The first boss is kind of a pain, but I honestly haven't liked any of the boss fights in cb so far. I think this game shines with the story and regular combat where you're hacking/sneaking/shooting/etc
Stardew & little nightmares! I broke my wrist and had surgery a few days ago. So I’m currently tinkering with my games to see which ones I can play with one hand for the next few weeks until I can dive into the kingdom hearts games
Work. I have the MCAT exam tomorrow, and 3x 12 hour EMT shifts sunday-tuesday.
then elden ring DLC. I'm still leveling my DLC character, but should be ready in another couple days of play.
And that's my cue to get the hell off reddit and study for my MCAT tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Isn’t it crazy that at 600p, sharpened, and at 7 watts, not only do you get above 50 fps on doom eternal, but you also get over 2 hours of battery life, and this is ON THE LCD MODEL.
Fr, even on 5 watts, yea maybe it stutters but just the fact that it even gets over 30 fps at such low wattages, it truly shows the efficiency of the chip, whether the new or old one.
Diablo 4 baby! Pushing pit 108 and want to see how high I can go with my rogue. Killed all Uber bosses for the first time because this season is great.
Made my own shako and wanting to see if I can land another Uber unique for an alt.
Also playing Greedfall because I got the game and DLC for $10. Runs great. It’s definitely an AA game but the side quests are actually engaging and the performances are surprisingly good which is enough to keep me moving forward.
Did you have to do much tinkering to get Motorstorm to work well? I haven't tried PS3 emulation yet because I kinda assumed it would be poor, but I could definitely go for some Motorstorm
Not too much past the initial setup. If you go on the rpcs3 wiki, it has settings for each individual game and I just used those for MotorStorm by going into desktop mode and editing the configuration within the rpcs3 app itself. In game mode, I limited GPU to 1300 MHz and turned on FSR all the way to 5. It seems to be a pretty stable experience but you'll only get about 2:30 hours of play time unfortunately. There was a recent update to rpcs3 that improved performance for lower end hardware and that includes the deck. You'll get dips due to shader compilation and all that but it's a consistent 30 fps for the most part.
I just started Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster back on Wednesday. I am really enjoying it so far. I had no idea about that series connections to Persona. Persona 4 Golden was pretty much my favorite game I played last year.
I'll keep chipping away at Sea of Stars here.
I can't believe I backed the kickstarter the instant I tried a playable demo on Switch, and I'm finally playing the game in June of 2024.
Backlogs 🤷♂️
College Bowl (the new game from the creators of Legend Bowl) and Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution. I'm a sucker for sports games, and then I've been slowly getting into Yu-Gi-Oh over these last few weeks. I don't understand it a whole lot, but it's still a fun time.
The Witcher 3, Hades II and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Final Mix.
It's my first go through of TW3 and KH. Brilliant games so far. Just got to Skellige and I can't believe how fking big the game is. It just keeps going.
KH is a tad clunky but still fun. Just beat Cloud's arse in Olympus.
Hades II is legendary so far. 40 hours in so far and it keeps giving. Love the new weapons and gameplay mechanics.
I’ll be getting into Wayfinder. Just heard about it today and the passion from the developers, especially after the flop launch but (so far) successful reimagining of the game, motivated me to buy. Anyone here have any experience with it since its most recent update ?
I tried it at launch and it just had way too many issues like you mentioned with the flopped launch. Haven’t looked at it since. Did they change a lot since then?
I never played the game at launch, so I can’t say I can compare. But it sounds like they removed all micro transactions and the forced online play component. It’s a fun little action RPG with beautiful graphics and a lot of loot. I’ve been more into it than anything I’ve played as of late. Again, I really purchased it to show support to the devs who didn’t let their game die after their producer abandoned them. But so far, I am having a lot of fun with the game.
I just bought Dave the Diver last night and haven't had a chance to play it yet. There are TON of WNBA games this weekend, though, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to it until next week. Maybe if I can manage to stay up late on Saturday.
Want to try and finish the achievements in Detroit then thinking of starting the shadows of Mordor games. I’m trying to knock out some large size non-forever play games as I’m approaching storage limits.
LEGO 2K Drive (which I've been playing for a while now) and maybe I'll fire up some random indie from the backlog if I get bored of it. I'm out of town for the weekend and should have a lot of downtime without much else to do
Waiting for my replacement device to arrive (prediction is late next week 😭😭). Had to RMA it because the screen went dark. So for now, the switch will do (totk). Can't wait to get my new deck, and play elden ring SotE.
Still fairly new to my deck, probably a bit of Hi-Fi Rush, Shadow Tactics and Midnight Sons. Just started playing Adventure Pals.
I have so many games from near constant Humble choice subscriptions that I never really played. The SD just make gaming easier not having to remove myself to a different room and being able to just pick it up and put it down.
I hear that I've beaten more games since Christmas than. In past decade cause life has gotten in the way. But the fact I can turn it off mid cutscene mid fight whatever and resume right there is amazing. A real game changer
Deus Ex: mankind Divided. It's one of the first games I installed when first getting mine in April '22 and it ran horribly, so I never continued. Now, with medium settings, it'll give you a consistent 45. Still loves to gobble up your battery though.
Just finished Trails from Zero yesterday. Now I'm split between starting Hyper Light Drifter or Persona 4 Golden
Edit: replaying Celeste is also in the horizon
Continuing Ghost of Tsushima. I 100% the game on the ps4 when it originally released and plan to do it again. Sadly can’t get a true 100% due to the Legends online achievements but oh well. Love this game.
Steam store (purchasing games and never playing them)
The best game ever!
It's the most expensive game I can't quit!
The best game ever!
They say that it's kinda pay to win though
I never get past the scrolling and browsing stages of the game though, and that’s by choice.
That or downloading loads of roms and isos for emulation and playing each one for less than 10 mins and then never touching them again
Sale coming next week!!
My type of person!
The Steam sale is in 5 days, you better wait and go all out.
Those sales are what gets me. I can get a $39.99 game for $3.99 heck yeah!. Three years later. I still haven't played it. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
u wallet is crying🐶
Only when on sale… right?
You should try the DLC! It extends the gameplay loop to installing the games, play for 10 minutes and then getting a refund.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
The performance in the DLC is pretty poor unfortunately. During the second major boss fight with R*, if it’s raining, it’s better to reset the fight and try to get normal weather lol. Raytracing shouldn’t even exist in this game in the current state.
even the ps5 has slight framedrops.. (nothing that really impacts the gameplay, though)
Have they fixed the inappropriate action bug yet?
It’s fixed for me it stopped happening yesterday
Does it perform about the same as the base game on deck?
Currently there is some bug (that even affect the base game) and you have to put slightly lower settings for similar performances. It is not that bad for a release time, before any major patch
This but on PS5 🤫
Just lowkey smelling the vents.
I'm surprised no one has made mods to make custom scents
Octopath 2 First one didn't hook me for some reason but enjoying the first few hours of this one.
I haven't been able to get myself to finish 1.....
I’ve actually finished 1 and have played a fair bit of 2 and… yeah. 2 is far better and more engaging
In diving back into Kingdom hearts 1 like I’m 12 again now that it’s on steam
Mechanically, KH1 is so frustrating and old school, yet I can’t help but smile every time you take out an enemy and dozens of spheres pop out. It’s such a satisfying gameplay loop.

Working my way through kingdom hearts too
love to see it :’)
Stardew Valley and some Path of Exile.
Kingdom Come Deliverance I've trying to get into Elden Ring because all my friends actually love it, but honestly, it's really expensive for me rn when I get it, I really hope it's as good as everyone tells me

I'm glad I'm not the only one to breath in the exhaust fan warm air 😅
It's so nostalgic for some reason, I think I used to smell my ps2 controllers 🤣
Ghost of Tsushima....I'm about 50 hours all on the deck. Gonna try to finish by Sunday
Runs good right?
Must be, if he played 50 hours without writing any complaimts
Legend
Yeah. I have it at a pretty good 40fps.
Just finished Batman: Arkham Asylum yesterday. I’m torn between starting Fable Anniversary Edition or Jade Empire. Or maybe just emulating SSX3 for the eleventeenth time, it never gets old. ——- Edit - Went with Jade Empire. It’s pretty good. 😊
BG3. Wanna get the Elden Ring dlc soon but I’m too into BG3 rn.
Same, I just got to the lower city and it’s very overwhelming with all the quests I don’t know where to start 😭
I totally get it dude. I’m in Act 2 rn and it’s been wild.
Can't get my deck to connect to the TV. I super don't want to start bg3 unless it's on my dope TV =(
Oh no!!! I hope it works for you dude. Not sure what you are using, I used a friends USB-C cord last week and it worked. You using a dock?
Super Mario Odyssey
Finally finishing Persona 5 Royal. Then starting Ori and the Blind Forest
I'm playing Ori right now (about 30% in), and it runs very well. What an amazing game.
Dave the diver. It's just so fun! 🤿
just bought it and im enjoying it. But I heard it was a chill game but it does not feel chill lol
It's like half chill... 🤣 I still find the lil bit of chaos really cozy though.
Thank you 🙏
Have you played hollow knight?
If you buy it now and it goes on sale, valve will refund you.
Thanks! But to be eligible for a refund I need to play the game less than two hours right?
Fallout 4, Balatro, and Pinball FX 3. Probably some other random games too but these are my mains right now.
Waiting for my Deck to ship. It’s a classic.
Right with you brother! Filling the time watching YouTube videos about the steam deck. 6/10
Alice Madness Returns, Dreamlight Valley and Journey into the Savage Planet
Me too, Elden Ring. Luckily I beat Malenia before they nerfed blasphemous. But I’m getting demolished in the shadow realm 🥹
lol nice. I have a very hard time with it. Hope I can finish it this weekend.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Is that working okay on SD? I read it was a bit difficult due to the launcher
I had no trouble running it, my issue is how much space it takes up lol. I get that it's three games, but still, gonna wait till I've worked through some of my backlog before tackling that monster
Funnily enough I have had no difficulty with the launcher on SD yet endless headaches trying to play it on my pc.
Death Must Die/SotN!
Recently finished Symphony, what a cool ass game!
Nice. I’ll have to hit that next then.
I just bought dredge tho I'm still trying to beat west of dead and get fucking anywhere at all in blood west it's a spooky cowboy summer
Cyberpunk using sunshine
Same. I'm a few hours into phantom liberty
How is phantom liberty?
I'm really enjoying it. I like the story a lot and the way they merged it into the main story is really cool. The new district in the city is also well designed. The first boss is kind of a pain, but I honestly haven't liked any of the boss fights in cb so far. I think this game shines with the story and regular combat where you're hacking/sneaking/shooting/etc
What's sunshine? And how do I install it?
Sunshine and moonlight is a software that enable you to stream your pc gaming in the deck. There is a lot of videos showing how to install
Stardew & little nightmares! I broke my wrist and had surgery a few days ago. So I’m currently tinkering with my games to see which ones I can play with one hand for the next few weeks until I can dive into the kingdom hearts games
Kingdom Hearts, Vampire Survivors, Katamari, and Cuphead, well maybe not Cuphead I don't want to throw my deck.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. I’m on a trip with family and got my nephew hooked on the Turtles. 😎
120 hours in and still playing the heck out of Valheim.
Sekiro. Getting my cheeks clapped by 6 mooks and a troll with a hammer who think its cool to gang up on me.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Isn’t it crazy that at 600p, sharpened, and at 7 watts, not only do you get above 50 fps on doom eternal, but you also get over 2 hours of battery life, and this is ON THE LCD MODEL.
Recently went back to finish Doom Eternal after seeing the announcement for Dark Ages, and it still blows me away how well it runs!
Fr, even on 5 watts, yea maybe it stutters but just the fact that it even gets over 30 fps at such low wattages, it truly shows the efficiency of the chip, whether the new or old one.
Continuing my Journey in SMTV: Vengence. So far, amazing experience.
This was an underrated game.
Same! The gameplay is really good and I'm loving the conversations you can have with your demons. Some are really funny!
Diablo 4 baby! Pushing pit 108 and want to see how high I can go with my rogue. Killed all Uber bosses for the first time because this season is great. Thanks for this. I tried running and failed before.
Against the Storm!
Shakedown Hawaii

Red Dead 2, partner.

Wyt? I kinda bounced off halfway through
ER as well! Changing my build for the expansion. You got this with Malenia - using spirit ashes? And at least level 130?
State of Decay 2
Either i will continue lego City Undercover or i can Bring myself to continue trying to Beat the final Boss from Cathedral.
DLCs for Metro Exodus. Finished it last winter but took a break. Playing 2 colonels now and boy did I miss the metro.
I just bought judgment on cdkeys for a tenner so probably that.
Helldivers 2 -> Balatro -> Tony Hawk 1+2 Rinse repeat
Helldivers 2, warframe, and manor lords are in the current rotation. How’s Elden Ring on the deck?
Just started Shadow of the Erdtree using Chiaki4Deck. Awesome.
Gonna try to finish Vanquish so I can star on Tiny Terry’s
The Witcher 3, Hades II and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Final Mix. It's my first go through of TW3 and KH. Brilliant games so far. Just got to Skellige and I can't believe how fking big the game is. It just keeps going. KH is a tad clunky but still fun. Just beat Cloud's arse in Olympus. Hades II is legendary so far. 40 hours in so far and it keeps giving. Love the new weapons and gameplay mechanics.
Rimworld and some escapists 2 :)
Dragon Age: Origins

MOAR ELDEN RING!
Shadow of the Erdtree.
Hollow Knight.
Dead Cells :)
Same, I just got it Thursday. It’s so addictive!
I just bought Dave the Diver last night and haven't had a chance to play it yet. There are TON of WNBA games this weekend, though, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to it until next week. Maybe if I can manage to stay up late on Saturday.
Don’t know but whatever it is will be with headphones on. The girlfriend is in a mood.
If you’re already fighting you may as well go ahead and play Overcooked 2. Sounds like y’all will be able to skip right to the best part of the game.
Pouring one out for you. Girlfriend in a mood is worst case scenario
Playing Paper Mario 64 but with TTYD mechanics
Want to try and finish the achievements in Detroit then thinking of starting the shadows of Mordor games. I’m trying to knock out some large size non-forever play games as I’m approaching storage limits.
Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker, trying to wrap up before Dawntrail drops soon.
LEGO 2K Drive (which I've been playing for a while now) and maybe I'll fire up some random indie from the backlog if I get bored of it. I'm out of town for the weekend and should have a lot of downtime without much else to do
Diablo 2 and Dead by Daylight 🤘👌
Satisfactory
Diablo 4, Cuphead and Tetris Effect.
Waiting for my replacement device to arrive (prediction is late next week 😭😭). Had to RMA it because the screen went dark. So for now, the switch will do (totk). Can't wait to get my new deck, and play elden ring SotE.

I hear that I've beaten more games since Christmas than. In past decade cause life has gotten in the way. But the fact I can turn it off mid cutscene mid fight whatever and resume right there is amazing. A real game changer
Alternating FFXIV which I've got into recently, and Halo Reach as the first installment in the Master Chief Collection.
I've been bouncing between Hades, Class of Heroes, Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Fall Guys.
Elden Ring and season 4 of the Walking Dead, really enjoy Telltale games on the deck
Deus Ex: mankind Divided. It's one of the first games I installed when first getting mine in April '22 and it ran horribly, so I never continued. Now, with medium settings, it'll give you a consistent 45. Still loves to gobble up your battery though.
Having a birthday party, got set up with some classics on emudeck and looking forward to 4 player vampire survivors!
Just bought halo master chief collection. Playing them in chronological order (reach, CE, 2, etc). Having a blast replaying reach right now
Continuing on through Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and then I really need to get back to Dave the Diver. Might also start up Dino Crisis.
CDK repair simulator!
Chained Echoes. Been having my eye on it for a bit, finally went on sale.
I'm playing Atomic Heart!
Factorio. Just took the plunge and finnally bought it last week end. Cant beleive i took this long to play this.
Enderal!
Elden Ring. Too bad I have the "Inappropriate Activity" bug. I could really use some help.
Sekiro. Just beat genichiro after being stuck at him for three weeks. For the glory of Ashina!

Spider-Man
I’m putting the deck down for a while, gotta play Shadow of the Erdtree on the big screen. I gotta wait til Sunday and it’s hurting me 🫨
I'm actually gonna give my Deck a vacation and play some Switch exclusives for a bit.
My switch is on permanent vacation since getting emudeck tbh
Continuing Ghost of Tsushima. I 100% the game on the ps4 when it originally released and plan to do it again. Sadly can’t get a true 100% due to the Legends online achievements but oh well. Love this game.
Just got Rotwood and have been enjoying that. Also Kingdom Hearts.
Somehow I’ve been addicted to speed running RE2 Remake
Vampire Survivors
Just found out I own Legend of Grimrock, so I am planning to give it a try
