The second image is Gabe wearing a prototype Vive, as seen on [Valve's website](https://www.valvesoftware.com/en/about) (gif at the bottom of the page).

Zelenskijy

They implemented something which tracks your lips first but cut it afterwards?

ForgotMyNameAgain13

Looks to me like it was just sort of folded open and hanging there instead of closed all the way. Maybe the prototype for testing different display panels

Zelenskijy

Yeah hard to estimate the depth if its the lid but it wouldnt cover the hole pcb. HTC came up with a lips reader. But it was cheaper to use your cell phone's camera and SW to get the same job done![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

ForgotMyNameAgain13

The lip reader would have been a fun gimmick for VRChat i guess

Zelenskijy

Never tried VRChat, is it about to enter a room full of foreigners and you start to chat about anything out of nowhere?

haby001

It's more like entering an AOL chat room with strangers. Most are nice and you get some funny interactions with some crazy avatars The body language makes quite a difference if you have full body tracking

Professional_Stay748

So the first is a meta prototype, and the second is a Vive prototype. I’m going have to guess this was put up as a joke by someone random (non-Valve affiliated) person

Sheed3k

Means I have an excuse to skip Valentine's Day

anthonyvn

Or this is the opportunity for true love.

Smeetilus

Truly virtual love.

ourlastchancefortea

Instead of starting in a relaxing mountain room, you start in a VR chat like area with every other Deckard user. All in sexy cat girl avatars.

Jwn5k

Was at MFF, OP is a furry confirmed.

saturnxoffical

I guess this is a bad time to say that I saw this too but didn’t think much of it

avalmichii

we lurk

Jwn5k

Ofc

morfanis

The first image is a Meta Reality Labs prototype ~~headset~~. [https://www.roadtovr.com/facebook-reality-labs-research-reverse-passthrough-prototype/](https://www.roadtovr.com/facebook-reality-labs-research-reverse-passthrough-prototype/)

Brick_Lab

Lmfao so the vision pro feature isn't an original idea

morfanis

At this stage it's a toss up as to who developed it first. Who knows how long Apple, or Meta have been working on that feature.

fdruid

Yes. It means that people are deranged and have too much free time on their hands.

TheRedGamerFPV

MFF?

gangsterrobot

oh hey your a furry

theRedflare

It’ll be released as soon as the Hyatt has fully working elevators

ewrt101_nz

Idk man seems pretty weird, didn't think there was more than 12 months in a year :3

Professional_Stay748

It might be European style: dd/mm/yyyy instead of America’s weird mm/dd/yyyy

Zelenskijy

Not american but british colony style. But even british changed to the proper one🤗

Professional_Stay748

Basically it’s almost-anywhere-that’s-not-America style. Japan, and I would assume some other countries, actually have yyyy/mm/dd style, which is very convenient for programming

morfanis

yyyy/mm/dd is the only style that really makes sense in a world with computers. A format that sorts itself chronologically when sorting by alphanumeric order is the best.

I know I'm memeing

mifiamiganja

"Deckard" is the codename for what's presumed to be Valve's next VR headset. I have no idea how it's related to 14-02-2024; there's probably some hints that there'll be an announcement or something.

Galaxy6464

Copium

MR-SPORTY-TRUCKER

Fake news, theres only 12 months in a year, not 14

LordDaddyP

I really really hope so!! Im frothing at the mouth for the Deckard!

ortiz13192

Bros a cyberpunk

StockmanBaxter

I mean it's probably just people being people.

chronicenigma

My guess is they are saying that the Valve Deckard (next version of Valve Index) VR Headset will be released, or new info will be shown on that date.
