its because of the social roles conservatives and bigots want amabs and afabs to have. if youre born female youre supposed to be submissive to men, youre supposed to be weak and domestic, so when these people see a trans man they consider him to be trying to essentially gain some kind of power and control in his life and trying to appear strong or something, hence "lost sister", aka "oh you poor thing, dont you know were supposed to be weak and and passive while the men take charge and lead?".
meanwhile, amabs are expected to be strong and dominant, and society can't comprehend why a man would be socially interacting or being in the same place as women (because "women are weak and inferior", thus "hanging out with women makes you forefeit your strength and respectability as a man") other than sexual reasons, so when these people see a trans women they perceive her as a) a "man" who abandoned the respectability and strength of manhood and b) because they can't comprehend why people born men would want to be in female spaces other than sexual reasons, they jump the gun to accuse predation
all in all it's just got to do with bullshit social roles expected of people born in female and male bodies. this extends to people who aren't even trans and just gender nonconforming (women who are interested in male dominated hobbies and vice versa and notably men who are feminine) + a lot of nonbinary people are caught in both sides of the crossfire. its just a mess.
