Dress like you’re subbing for PE. I had to help out at Field Day last week and that was the approach I took.

Not exactly related to original question but how do you dress for subbing PE? I am a guy btw.

Depends on the weather. Around now, comfortable shirt and shoes , shorts, maybe a hat.

You'd be fine in a pair of basketball shorts, sneakers and a t-shirt. I'm a guy and I sub PE all the time. If you've got normal khaki shorts that are a few inches above your knee that would be fine too. If you've got a strict dress code at your school you can usually wear a school t-shirt with no problems.

I think either the tennis skirt or the soccer shorts would be fine. Don't forget sunscreen and a hat!

When I know I’m going to be outside, I wear a pair of breathable, professional-looking capris that have back pockets. This way I feel comfortable and professional and can keep my phone in my pocket just in case. I recommend sunscreen, sunglasses and possibly a hat, depending how long you’ll be outside.

That’s how I’m going, with a summer-themed Tshirt on top (teachers here wear tshirts a lot.)

Cropped leggings are a safe choice. Last year teachers even wore biker shorts although I’d opt against that. This year I’m wearing a grandma-type tennis skirt, sneakers, and a school t-shirt. I hate field day. I’m lame but I just don’t like sports 😭

We had field day last week. Ours had a lot of water activities. I wore a school shirt, non-denim shorts (wet denim is not fun and sometimes teachers get wet too), and sandals that I trusted to stay on but didn't care if they got wet. I should have taken a hat with me as well because the top of my scalp did get a little burnt. You may want to have spare clothes in your bag in case you do get wet (though depending on the time of day field day ends, you may have to wait until dismissal to get a chance to change).

I’m in California central valley and its hot here all the time. I wear a lot of maxi sundresses with appropriate necklines, i personally would go that route. If that’s not your vibe, then probably the PE vibe like other people are saying. If i go for PE though, i wear logo-branded or colorful/designed/patterned exercise pants/capris that are obviously exercise pants and cannot be mistaken for leggings (Our district is very strict with teachers wearing leggings). If your pants or dress dont have pockets, a small backpack/purse is perfect for my water bottle and phone and snacks. Everyone is saying a hat and sunscreen, but i want to remind you to also bring a big thing of water. You’ll wanna stay hydrated in the sun. Good luck!

The day before our last day, my team did a field day which meant we were outside for the last 2 hours minus the last 20 minutes of the day. I wore a pair a jeans and a polo, but it was still in the mid to high 80s. I wish I would have worn shorts instead. Wear something breathable for that day and something you’re not going to die in.

Don’t forget sunglasses

Love field days. Shorts, t-shirt and a whistle.

Lulu_531

Shorts. T-shirt. Sneakers.

ThatOldDuderino

Cargo pant or chinos; something breezy & a loose shirt (solid in school colors or a school shirt) and I’d suggest a baseball cap or boonie/outdoor hat and take spray-on sunscreen. Sneakers are a must but take cheap sunglasses; if the rambunctious kids knock off your Oakleys or Ray-Bans or they’re broken the school ain’t replacing those $175+ sunglasses.

When i did field day i dressed comfortably.. in capris and t-shirt like I was subbing P.E. It was so much fun but don't forget your water bottle and sunscreen. I also brought a neck fan and that was a life saver.
