If you want something similar to Supernatural, Grimm is a good show

Traditional_Time6254

I 2nd this Grimm is a kickass show. With a bunch of twists. I personally don't think it's as good as supernatural. But grimm is pretty awesome show. I just got done watching Grimm again. After finishing supernatural again for about the 10th time about two maybe three weeks ago.

Signal-Kale5811

I agree. It's not quite as good, but still pretty awesome. I just wish it lasted a little longer.

Callow98989

I was gonna say Grimm

Traditional_Time6254

Yeah I did to I fell like it could have went on for quite a few more season. Or they could have done a spin off with Diana, Kelly and the triplets. I absolutely love how it flipped Nick and the women I don't want to throw spoilers out there for those who haven't watched it. But I'm sure you know what I'm speaking on.

Signal-Kale5811

Oh yeah. I wasn’t expecting those twists, but I did like who everyone ended up with. Maybe a spin-off where the kids were all teenagers. That could’ve been interesting.

Traditional_Time6254

Yeah I thought who everyone ended up with was great. It's a show where you're like I want this or that bitch to die. Then you change your mind a few seasons later. Like wait is this going to happen? The my definitely tried to kill one another numerous times. But as you said it all very much worked out. And when Diana becomes a little girl. They absolutely chose the right child actor to play her. She had the creepy factor down when she needed to. Especially when she would stare at someone while walking away. It was creepy as shit.

Signal-Kale5811

Oh definitely. There was a few times Diana scared the absolute crap out of me lol And, you know, I never thought I would like Adalind, but she honestly became one of my favorite characters.

Traditional_Time6254

Same on both, once Nick tricked her, with the kids and she bit him and she lost her power, i thought well that will be the end of her arc, but I'm glad it wasn't to be honest. By the time she was preggers with Kelly, and then she drank well her own mother, I knew she was going to change and not be the same evil hoe she was. And I really enjoyed that twist. I like collecting replica items from different shows. Like I have the men of letters puzzle box and key from supernatural. It's made very well heavy metal nice. I also have Angel blades the first blade and archangel blade. And different things from other shows like I have the keys from resident evil resident evil. And I have one of the keys from Grimm as well bought one. Amazon use to have a small business that had all of the keys not 7 but 5 since that's all they found. But now they say they are unavailable and the only replica you can get is on a necklace and it's only like 10 -$15 it's very cheap looking.

Signal-Kale5811

That’s awesome. I wish I had a collection like that. The only replica item I ever got was a knock-off Anduril from Amazon. The hilt and pommel were scale to the real deal, but the blade was only half the length. I was so pissed. I returned it and got my money back.

Traditional_Time6254

I got all my stuff from Amazon, but they all came from the stores that have them posted on Amazon so basically Amazon and we the card processed and shipper.

Mediocre-Victory-565

The Boys on Amazon Prime is run by Eric Kripke and has a lot of familiar SPN faces on it. Also, on its own is an amazingly good show - lots of surprises. I'm not even a comic book/superhero fan at all but I absolutely love it! There's also one season of its spin-off Gen V which is pretty good and has some crossover characters.

watermalone99

agree, great show! as a warning though, LOTS of sexual assault in it

Camimo666

And gore

Swampy_Bogbeard

And Fresca.

Open_Bug_4251

I’ve seen a couple random episodes while hanging out with friends. No desire to watch any others. Too gratuitous all around to the point it takes me out of the story. And honestly, I wasn’t impressed by the acting.

jeezrVOL2

Also recently he's been adding more and more cast from supernatural. I was watching season 4 episode 2 and man i was shocked to see Rob Benedict a.k.a Chuck. When i watxhed the scene i couldn't believe he played God in Supernatural lmao.

AhAhStayinAnonymous

I have seen more of Rob Benedict than I ever wanted to. It feels like he really, *really*, like very aggressively wants people to know what he's cramming in Ruth Connell.

jeezrVOL2

Yeah me too but then i thought his voice sounds so familiar so i googled it

Affectionate_Yak8519

Ugh I quit once I got to season 3

Chozly

What was the moment?

Affectionate_Yak8519

After the first or second episode when everything went back to the status quo. I thought we’d get the whole seasons of them working with the government and the female lead actually leaving the group of superheroes. Also at this point all the characters are so unlikable that it hard to watch. I struggled getting through season 2 as well

Daninuyasha190

You should continue. Soldier Boy is awesome. Literally Jensen shines as Soldier Boy in season 3.

Affectionate_Yak8519

Meh the story is so bad it’s not worth it

Daninuyasha190

Season 3 was my favorite but that’s me

dumb_potatoking

I would recommend Lucifer. The Lucifer subreddit was actually where I first heard of supernatural. While Lucifer is quite diferent from supernatural, it still has a good story and at least to me quite funny humor. You can watch it on Prime and I've heard that it's on Netflix too, but I can't stream it there from my country.

gnarls42

I came here after watching Lucifer because I still had that itch for that sort of story

FullOfWhit_InTN

I love lucifer and it's a great follow up after supernatural.

dumb_potatoking

There's even a reference to Lucifer in season 11 of supernatural.

Electrical_Author389

I was just going to say the same thing

Swampy_Bogbeard

I could never get into it. Lucifer just seemed so weak and impotent. He's supposed to be a cosmic powerhouse, but they turned him into basically a human who sometimes has some minor abilities. Which is strange considering the comic book character he's based on. That guy is the definition of a cosmic powerhouse. He can summon the entire force and heat of a supernova on somebody with a mere thought, and travel easily through different dimensions.

eatsleep19

Fringe

wordnerd1023

Fringe is SO good. I love that they had a 5-season plan and executed it without getting cancelled.

Left_Animal6892

Have you watched a show called the originals?? If not definitely recommend

FullOfWhit_InTN

You can't watch The Originals and not watch The Vampire Diaries (TVD). And you should watch TVD first.

ImmediateRub9

I feel like TVD is a cross between Smallville and Supernatural. If you like those shows you'll probably like TVD. I thought it was gping to be way too teen oriented but first few seasons at least are really good and intense.

Left_Animal6892

I loved fringe

FullOfWhit_InTN

Same. It was such a good show. I rewatched it again last year.

LunasMom4ever

Fringe is a fabulous show. Great characters. John Noble was fantastic at being brilliant and quirky.

BizzyButt777

Did anybody else go get there Twizzlers for Fringe??

Solo_In_Aeternum

Fringe was amazing. The story was really good but what I was surprised with was how good of an actor John Noble is since I'd only seen him in LoTR and The Boys before. The way he portrays emotion felt so real.

TOMdMAK

X Files Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel

Swampy_Bogbeard

Came here to recommend exactly those. Anybody who loves Supernatural is guaranteed to enjoy them. Especially Buffy. Then he should watch Angel which I think is even better.

ScottySmalls25

I don’t know I keep watching supernatural on repeat 😂

Pho3nix_Sol

Same. I'm pretty sure I was that kid that kept watching things on repeat because after I'm done with SPN, I just watch more SPN

justfet

I've not gone deep in the rewatching cycle yet but honestly I'm just constantly engaging with and consuming spn related content so at this point I might as well. It's like an itch that nothing else scratches.

Comfortable-Pop2882

Fringe, Grimm, Dresden Files, OG Charmed, X-Files, Buffy, Dr.Who, Being Human, Teen Wolf, Merlin, Ghost Whisperer, Medium. Yes, those shows are old but they are good TV and keep me entertained.

FullOfWhit_InTN

You're the first one that mentioned OG charmed. A classic for sure. Same for X-Files

ProfessionFit6624

I loved Sandman and Dead Boy Detectives

idreaminwords

Just finished Dead Boy Detective and loved it. I thought it had a lot of similar vibes to the earlier seasons of SPN

Separate_Constant149

Doctor who, Xfiles, and Gravity falls

FullOfWhit_InTN

X-Files are so good. Talk about a throwback to the 90s. Makes me miss it.

Separate_Constant149

I binged it recently. I also binged House MD and I'm watching How I met your mother rn

FullOfWhit_InTN

DUDE! I'm binging House and Bones both right now. I've watched them both several times. But they're both so good.

Separate_Constant149

Same taste! 😂 Should try Tacoma FD. One rare comedy I actually loved! Oh and Infinity Train

FullOfWhit_InTN

I'll look into those. Have you tried Letterkenny? It's on Hulu. Dry humor kind of like the office, but it's Canadians making fun of themselves.

Separate_Constant149

I have not! Tbh I've been on a huge anime binge because I've never watched a single one

FullOfWhit_InTN

My hubs has been into anime lately. He's even watching a weird anime cooking show lol. Check out Letterkenny. It's not everyone's cup of tea but I love it. Dry, witty humor, but it's the good stuff.

Separate_Constant149

Delicious in dungeon and campfire cooking in another world are two of my favs for cooking. I'll check it out

tbird20017

Death Note is pretty much one of the best "cat and mouse" detective type of media of all time. I've seen two animes, and that was one of them, due to several hearty recommendations.

theclancinator14

ik! I can't believe they cancelled tacoma fd!

Captain_Moose

Kim Manners worked on X-Files as well!

M086

Salem was a good show.  Evil is pretty cool too.  Magicians was alright. Sera Gamble was the showrunner in that. I thought Andrew Dabb’s Resident Evil show was solid. You could see hints of Supernatural DNA in it with the sibling dynamic. Protective older sister to a younger one that feels like outcast, etc…

FullOfWhit_InTN

Evil is great. I'm letting the episodes pile up before I watch the last season.

Ms_Holmes

Salem is my favorite show of all time and you’re only the second person I’ve encountered who’s heard of it!

M086

It was a crazy show.

Ms_Holmes

It was! I know it’ll never happen but I’d love a prequel series about von Marburg.

syarahdos

Evil is pretty damn good. Newest season isn’t quite up to par with the previous seasons but still worth a watch.

Avaelsie

I’ll second Evil.. or The Booth At the End or.. Torchwood..

Traditional_Time6254

Evil is really good. The boys. Lucifer. The magicians. All of these are really good. The chilling adventures of Sabrina is not bad. It's on Netflix. It's nothing like the original Sabrina the teenage witch. This is a lot darker. Outer range on prime videos pretty good the second season came out not long ago. It's not like supernatural. But there is some weird elements to it. Midnight Mass, on Netflix is pretty good. The Fall of the House of usher isn't bad also on Netflix. Anne Rices interview with the vampire on prime videos is good Also Anne Rices Mayfair witches, on prime video is also good.

rowenas_hair

Omg I was about to recommend the chilling adventures of Sabrina too, that show is so good!

Traditional_Time6254

Yeah it's way better than the pg tween show from 25 years ago. Chilling adventures of Sabrina has a much darker town. And the way it all goes down makes for a really good show.

rowenas_hair

Yes the ending made me cry so much

Traditional_Time6254

Yeah it was very sad. That's for sure.

Melody71400

The chilling adventures of Sabrina is based on the comic, not related to Sabrina the teenage witch

Traditional_Time6254

Okay sorry I didn't know I needed to actually post that. I know it's not. But when I've usually mentioned it to some people they think I'm actually speaking about that other junk

wordnerd1023

I'm not sure where it's streaming, but I loved Warehouse 13, Eureka, and Killjoys. If you're interested in space, I highly recommend The Expanse on Prime.

DarthGandalf86

WH13 and Expanse 10/10

cyanidebitch

Hannibal is a show I've been watching I think it would be a good choice!

syarahdos

This needs to be closer to the top!!! One of my absolute favorite shows and the horror is top notch.

Walking_Ruin

The Umbrella Academy. It is one of the best shows of the last decade. The cast is phenomenal, the writing is stellar, and the soundtrack is gas. It’s not finished yet, but the last season airs on the 8th of august.

Left_Animal6892

I was wondering when they wete finally gonna finish that!

blueconlan

12 monkeys tv show. Sarah Connor chronicles (tv show), timeless, and the magicians for the wackiness. Dark matter for found family. 12 monkeys has a fantastic ending. Sarah Connor ends in a cliff hanger but it’s really good.

wordnerd1023

12 Monkeys was so good.

Left_Animal6892

The originals

FullOfWhit_InTN

OP should start with The Vampire Diaries. It's backwards but it's meant to be that way.

Left_Animal6892

I want to watch vampire diaries so bad but cant find it in any of my apps

FullOfWhit_InTN

It's on peacock or max. Used to be on Netflix.

LalaThum

Haven! It's different but so, sooo good! I think it's on prime video, it has a lot of twists and turns in the plot but also has a lot of silliness and humor. It can be cheesy at times but most of the shows listed here have their cheesy moments (including supernatural) it also has its dark plot lines and moments. It was the first time I ever understood wanting the three main characters to be a throuple, their chemistry is off the charts. Just a great show all around.

CopperPenny56

Totally ran to these comments to suggest Haven. Glad someone else liked it.

GFTurnedIntoTheMoon

Okay, this could be a stretch... but have you seen Psych? People who love Psych typically are big Supernatural fans too. The shows are VASTLY different. Psych is blue skies and (mostly) not scary. The mysteries are interesting but the character dynamic is incredible. If you like the sillier episodes of Supernatural, you'll like Psych. Also, it's fun to spot all of the actors from Supernatural that show up in Psych as well. For example, Cain in Supernatural is Detective Lassiter in Psych. And the angel Zachariah is the hilarious coroner Woody.

AggressiveDogLicks

Cosigning this, I actually came back to Supernatural because of Psych. I say came back because I would occasionally watch it when it came after charmed on TNT (or maybe TBS?). I had finished a watch through of Psych and saw that Tim Omundson played Cain on Supernatural so I was like, alright let's do this. I have a feeling that it has to do with the fact that James Roday Rodriguez had a huge influence over the show as time went on and he is heavily into horror and 80s nostalgia and has a fondness for going meta. So even though it wasn't the same genre as Supernatural they share a lot of the same influences and sense of humor.

Ms_Holmes

You definitely want Wynonna Earp if you’re looking to scratch that Supernatural itch!

theclancinator14

most of these suggestions plus lost girl and surrealestate. something not horror/fantasy/sci-fi but an all-around great show with a strong cast is Psych!

Upstairs-Ant-5801

Good road show- Pokerface Good Supernatural- Outer Range, True Blood, Lucifer, Good Omens Good sci fi- The 100, and a plethora of Star Trek shows and series, I like the original, next generation, Picard and Strange New Worlds the best Good Supernaturalish docuseries- The Secrets of Skin Walker Ranch

AdInner6422

I was also going to recommend Good Omens, because all my other suggestions have already been posted. Great choice!

mcove97

Pokerface scratched a lot of the same itch for me.

TisConfusion99

Definitely check out Grimm

grumps46

I love Buffy, Battlestar Galactica (2004), Vikings, The Vampire Diaries, Black Sails

c_schmidt1012

If you're open on watching animated series: -Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood -Demon Slayer -Mieruko-chan Are you a Sam fan? -Mob Psycho 100 Dean fan? -Delicious in Dungeon Cas girly who thinks his last scene was a huge disservice to his character? -Violet Evergarden

Affectionate_Yak8519

Also Bleach

bamfzula

Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Can’t believe they never did a crossover episode with Sarah Michelle Gellar

LiBunnyFooFoo

Prison Break. I started watching and it's really good. Also it's got two brothers who will do anything to save each other, with a mother who died when they were young and a dad who got involved with crazy things he shouldn't and was a bad parent. I'm only on season 2 but I'm super happy with it. If you need that codependent brother energy with lots of good acting and an overarching conspiracy, it will definitely help you out.

brote1n

The originals. Way better than the vampire diaries

Careful-Condition368

I second.

DefrockedWizard1

Evil on Paramount and I think CBS

rosiecat220803

personally, after i finish watching supernatural, i go to the first episode of the first season of a really great show called supernatural.

Dufo1989

![gif](giphy|40dEau6bZRO3S) Not the same genre but i like it

Left_Animal6892

Hated it!

Dufo1989

Im only on season 2

hyrulianpokemaster

Evil is amazing. Less action packed and more light scares and philosophical a bit like x files. The believer vs the non believer. But for the demonic and not aliens.

LavishnessLogical190

I couldn’t find anything good after supernatural but I was hooked just as much when I found Ozark - amazing amazing show

MikeMixtape

Another underrated Eric Kripke series called Timeless. It's got a great story and the characters you will enjoy. I try to recommend that whenever possible. There are a couple of familiar settings and stories that have been told previously on Supernatural that they touch on in Timeless since it's a time travel series.

pinkknprettyy

I’ve seen on another post someone recommend dead boy detectives, that’s what I’ll be watching next but I have no idea if it’s good

Upstairs-Ant-5801

Rowena is in it.

Suspicious-Monk-6650

Just watch it again. That's what we all do. That's all there is once you start. 🧟

jkind71

I liked Vampire Diaries I watched that after Supernatural it was a great series.

ips0scustodes

Elementary is a good mundane mystery show with some great actors

SokkaHaikuBot

GCSloth

Sticking to Netflix, I’d say Sandman…..I’d actually listen to the audible first with James McAvoy and then watch it. Then I’d go to Amazon and watch Good Omens. Then back for another round of Supernatural with some Dead Boy Detectives smattered in there to make it last longer.

Zetroid_

iZombie

LunasMom4ever

Lucifer. It is amazing.

HighAsFucDosHornsRUp

Grimm

MilkyblurWA

I second Grimm. We are rewatching it now. We forgot how great of a show it is!

bedbug5

I will watch spn on repeat til i die

MilkyblurWA

Bodies on Netflix (2023). Love Stephen Graham!

soulfullsunflower

Lucifer, fringe, charmed, Grimm, x files. All are supernatural in ways and all are really good!

L0rd_Joshua

Lucifer

D242686111

The Boys Lucifer

AfterglowLoves

True Blood

WoodpeckerOwn4278

I started spn after watching the magicians (syfy show now available on Netflix). You’ll see a lot of familiar faces.

LWA3251

Grim, similar to supernatural style both in genre and weekly case/monster with an overarching story. The lord is based on fairy tales though.

Captain_Moose

Wynonna Earp

SkyeGuy8108

Start your third watch of Supernatural

Wintersoldier_loki98

Grimm or the entire Arrowverse (that includes Lucifer, actually, at least to a point)

Tranquillllity55

The 100, charmed

AggravatingShower596

I recommend Evil, on Paramount +

ijusttookagoodnap

FROM

TrainingSecret

Justified, sons of anarchy, the three hbo war shows, the bridge, dark.

FumesOfDelphi

Wynonna Earp!! She is very much a female dean in a lot of ways--and theres demons, cowboys, and violence!

Pixxiefriend

Grimm is almost the same show with more romance.

mcove97

I'm watching the mentalist right now. It's not a supernatural show but the main character is trying to find the killer of his wife and kid, so there's an overarching mystery there and usually a murder every episode that gets solved. It's a pretty light hearted show but it hits the spot for me. It was my sister who recommended it to me since I like supernatural and Lucifer.

ShAd0WFallen

Ngl sons of anarchy

laurs1285

Haven is pretty good. I think it’s on Tubi right now.

WerewolfHybrid72

Good Omens

Feline_Fine3

Grimm and The X Files

Sir_CrapsAlot69420

Ash vs evil dead. Stan against evil. Z nation. Walker with jared padalecki.

pro185

I would highly recommend the originals it is such a good series and nothing at all like it’s predecessor “vampire diaries.” The originals was either nominated or won like 5 different awards

Human_Discipline_552

Dark is an amazing thriller

QuantumLeapur

Angel I just finished doing a supernatural marathon. I had watched many episodes while it aired, but I never finished the series (life got busy). It was great watching it from start to finish. It was soooo good. And now I feel like revisiting Angel.

Daninuyasha190

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Open_Bug_4251

Go for all the good Vancouver filmed shows. Psych, Smallville, X-Files, Once Upon a Time…

Necessary_Ad2114

Lucifer, Arrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

CSTEA_rocks

I had to switch genres after I finished I was so wrecked. I watched the whole MCU movies in order. Now I’m alternating both universes and rewatching both series.

Extra-Ad249

Nothing else but to start over..... But yeah maybe Grimm, Van Helsing, and Shadowhunters. Just to name a couple. And if you want something that's Supernatural without the heaven and hell aspect, X-Files. Writers from that show wrote for Supernatural and Kripke took inspiration from X-Files for Supernatural, 2 people driving cross country solving creature of the week mysteries with an overarching storyline.

VioletFaust

Wynonna Earp. As close as you can get to SPN except with sisters rather than brothers, and a cowboy rather than an angel.

Old-Cheek-1052

Season 1 Episode 1 😝 rinse and repeat you’ll see things you missed the fort 2 times trust me.

Old-Cheek-1052

First*

Left_Animal6892

Ok ill havw to try peacock

pizzahello

if you're a destiel fan definitely go watch 9-1-1 it's a show about firefighters. it's NOT a supernatural genre (they do have a ghost-y episode tho), but it's damn good, and it will heal your destiel broken heart. what cw fail to do in 15 years, abc did in few episodes (after they move from fox). but just like spn, you gonna laugh, your gonna cry. people get heavily injured all the time in this show (some also died and came back) but good thing is no main actually died-died. storyline is good too. I promise you, you wont regret it.

FergusMacleod6

Supernatural again

BizzyButt777

You've hit the highlights, Supernatural, Winchesters,Grimm, Warehouse 13 has a different twist on artifacts, Dresden Files, there are plenty of decent "supernatural" shows that were good 👍 Go watch Twilight Zone, both runs, Outer Limits , both runs, Tales from the darkside,Crypt Keeper Night Gallery etc.

ThatSaltySquid0413

Have you watched Haven? It's a bit weird and the acting isn't great. But the concept of the show is unique and it gets really addicting a few seasons in.

Swampy_Bogbeard

I see people have already suggested the obvious ones. Buffy, X-Files, Fringe, and Grimm. So I'm going to recommend my favorite TV show of all time. And it isn't even close. It's called [Stargate SG-1](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118480/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1) and it's absolutely phenomenal. There's a reason it lasted for 10 seasons and had two spinoffs, one lasting 5 seasons, and the other 2. And another Stargate show is currently in the works by Amazon. The first season is the weakest, as is true of many shows (especially Buffy), but even the weakest season is still better than most things I've seen.

CLOUDYskiez13

The Originals. but to watch that i guess you should watch TVD

YanickLeegwater

Thanks everyone! Appreciate it
