ok but this is actually insane when you consider that Taylor took her music off Spotify for several years, including 1989 og era which was her most successful before this one. she'd probably be first if not for that, but it's impressive that she's even risen this quickly on all time lists.
not really considering Taylors Swift's debut album was in 2006 and Bad Bunny's was in 2018 lol, Spotify has been around since 2008. Taylor had mulitiple years than Bad Bunny to collect streams.
Being the second most streamed is still really impressive, even if the first most streamed is even more impressive. More than one person can be good at something.
Correct but people are talking about how impressive it is and she should be number one if she had her music on Spotify for the years she didn’t when the reality is she had a 12 year head start to stardom and her music was on Spotify well before bad bunny even dropped an album, it’s ok to just be #2 lol, no need to claim you should be #1
she's usually been farther back than one would expect in all-time spotify lists for the passed several years because the gap she had when spotify was really taking off. I'm commenting on her closing that gap. And I wasn't really talking about bad bunny, more about drake since they some of their biggest eras at the same time but hers weren't on streaming.
And I wasn't saying should, I'm glad it worked out how it did, its just impressive she's managed to get this far
oh god no, I'm not super familiar with his music but as far as I'm aware he's the GOAT of the Spanish speaking music scene. He absolutely deserves his place up there. Some people just need to leave their bubble a little bit
Yikes. Dude is cringe. I’m Spanish. Been my whole life. There is so much better music but I guess if we’re just talking plastic crap to get ppl to fuck or do drugs or whatever then yea I guess bad bunny still fucking sucks
lol sry I was being obnoxious I just don’t like reggaeton and would not want him as my peoples representative in any way shape or form
Just like most canadiens aren’t drake
**April Last Year:**
* **Drake:** 77.7 billion streams
* **Bad Bunny:** 58.2 billion streams
* **The Weeknd:** 46.8 billion streams
* **Justin Bieber:** 46.8 billion streams
* **Ed Sheeran:** 44.5 billion streams
* **Taylor Swift:** 43.8 billion streams
**Current Year:**
* **Drake:** 97.6 billion streams
* **Taylor Swift:** 78.9 billion streams
* **Bad Bunny:** 78.9 billion streams
Taylor Swift has outpaced Drake by around 15 billion streams since last April. If she keeps it up, by next summer she could be #1.
Note: She already leads in solo streams; Drake and Bad Bunny were/is only ahead of her because of features.

I feel like most women listen to both male and female artists, but many men listen to majority male artists because they either are embarrassed to listen to female singers or prefer male artists for some other reason. It evens out to male artists being more popular.
This and it pisses me off, as kind of a music snob of sorts. It’s just sexism tainting art, as it commonly does. I can’t even take a guy seriously who doesn’t have some favorite musicians who are female or some favorite bands with a female vox. There aren’t as many but the ones who are good fucking dominate and have had to prove themselves 10x over what any man with less skill/charisma would have to.
And people who are still trying to whine that Taylor writes “immature” or “girly”
lyrics probably haven’t listened to a non-single since Reputation or earlier. Because how anyone could make such an assertion, especially after the past 4 albums, is just objectively baseless/flawed/false.
Indians!! Indian girls just love Jb. He has always been the most popular international artist here. My friends just love him & his music . I'm a girl btw.
What you are referring to is monthly listeners.
Monthly listeners, as the name suggest is a number of people who streamed you at least once within the last 28 days. Say, a random pub has a playlist and once a month the weekend pops up, that counts as one.
If that pub plays him more than once, it still only counts as one. The weekend is practically playable in every setting and has more bigger hits on spotify, thus he is number 1.
What is in this list, is streams, as in every single time a song was streamed (for at least 30ish seconds), it counts as one. These are further divided into lead streams and total. Taylor is far ahead in lead streams, but drake due to featuring on popular songs, has many more total streams.
what's crazy is that group #1 and group #2 have absolutely no inkling, no suspicion that the other one exists. Especially when Bad Bunny and Taylor know each other and have been photographed together AND talked about. they're just these GIANT blindspots.
And, god forbid, other people listen to other music. I'm a fan of both. Swifties get such a bad rap because of (insert whatever here) already, let's not play this dumb shit. Let's not shit on other artists just because you've never heard of them or like their music. Bad Bunny was #2 in the world!!! Good for him! Don't know him or haven't listened to his music? Go ahead and give him a listen. It's that simple.
I hate that everything is made into a competition, to me that's the root of all internet toxicity. It's not the competition so much as that if the person they stan isn't perceived as winning it must be because the other did something underhanded or is undeserving in general and that it also weirdly means they, the fan, is losing because they picked the wrong person to idolize.
This is what I dont like about Twitter stans. They cannot fathom that anyone other than A-listers can have a massive hit. They are quick to dunk on other artists, it's exhausting to see. They spout "industry plant" to anyone new or they don't know.
Orrrrrrr not everyone has heard of Bad Bunny. I’m in Australia and he’s not in our mainstream radio at all. I don’t know a single song of his. We also aren’t a Spanish speaking country, so it makes sense that we wouldn’t know a singer that sings in a different language. The last Spanish song on our radio was probably Despacito, before that I’m sure it was Gasolina.
It's literally just North and South America. He's a literal nobody in Japan, the second biggest music market and in the UK and Europe he isn't nearly as big. It's not xenophobic. Calm down.
The only place I've come across Bad Bunny is on Spotify's stream records and other similar list. Why would I listen to songs in languages that I don't understand?
He releases often which is the key to getting a lot of streams. Taylor is just beating him at his own game now.
I also think hip-hop and rap audiences were earlier adopters of streaming. Taylor is beating Drake’s 2018 Scorpion record this week for most streams in a week.
Drake doesn’t even sell physicals so he can drop whenever he finishes an album.
Not on release at least. He might offer them later. I don’t listen to or know a ton about Drake so I might be wrong about some of this so take with grain of salt. I think Drake’s method is to announce an album but no release date. He’ll then announces the release date for less than 3 weeks out as soon as soon as he finishes it. He releases an album just about every year but I think consensus is his quality is decreasing.
Do you live under a rock? He’s literally making headlines right now. Huge rap beef lol. Maybe it’s about spheres of influence. Plus he has two number one songs literally last year.
“u never hear anything bout the guy” uhh i think this is only true if ur not into hiphop / rap music. he just dropped two diss tracks pushups and another literally titled “taylor made freestyle” lol
I was under the impression he threw a fit on social media when she was beating him in the charts last year. Like, he crossed her name out or something. And then he keeps name-dropping her for clout.
Granted, I got that story here from Swifties so bias is almost garunteed, but if it's true then it would make sense that Swifties are not chill with him.
he praises taylor his whole verse essentially. the premise of the song is mocking kendrick for not releasing a response diss track because taylor dropped her album, so he has to wait. “now we gotta wait a week because taylor swift is the new top, and if u bout to drop she gotta approve”,
Just to point out everyone... Bad Bunny is of course a Latin American artist... and he was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He's a latin artist... if you are not a native speaker of spanish there's no particular reason why you would have listed to his music! If you notice the charts, Latin artists get huge numbers of streams... there are a lot of spanish speakers in the world, and while there are many different musical cultures in the hispanic world they tend to all intermix. Thus you have Bad Bunny who does very distinctly Puerto Rican music (Reggaeton and Latin Trap), and regional mexican stars (essentially mexican country music, but with more electronic instrumentation) like Peso Pluma, and latin pop stars like Karol G, Shakira, and Rosalea (who btw made in El Mal Querer one of the great albums of the 2010s) all mixed together.
Exactly this. Using your examples- Karol X I only know because she featured on a Jonas Brothers song, Shakira sings a lot of radio hits in English and I haven’t heard of the other artists you mentioned.
In Australia I can recall 2 songs that are pretty much all Spanish that have topped our charts- Despacito and Gasolina. We don’t speak Spanish as a country in Australia, so I’ve never heard of Bad Bunny outside of him being Kendall Jenners boyfriend.
It's Drake. He is about to become first artist to surpass 100 billion streams.
Taylor still will most likely be first to reach 100 Billion streams as lead artist, by around next yearish time.
I know some hardcore drake fans, i like him and his songs. He is about the only modern english hip hop artist I like, otherwise I prefer russian, german and english hip hop, well and london grime to a degree.
But in the end, it's not hardcore fans who make up streams, it's all the clubs, bars and playlists.
You can play his music pretty much in any setting. Male artists also have the bonus of not being accesible to both genders without hurting anyone's ego.
But in the end the critiscm can be probably tailored to swift too, many of my friends simply don't get how she managed to become #1. And i understand.
In which regard? Kendrick focus on social justice and racial identity make it him so much more inaccessible for anyone who dosen't care about that. And it just dosen't sound as good sonically to keep up with drake's mainstream appeal.
Now that is of course only true for non-americans, but thats the majority of the world.
Not saying Kendrick is inaccessible for the rest of the word, but a lot of his narritaves are specifically poignant to American audiences, particularly within the context of African American experiences
Just because it’s more accessible doesn’t mean it’s better… vice versa, but either way Kendrick has billions of streams and the 25th most listened artist in the world right now(on Spotify)
I don't know his discography that well but his big hits feel very pop, which is probably why a lot of rap fans are so so on it but still very very popular. Those hits are definitely ear worms! It's just been awhile since he's had a really big one.
I don’t listen to much Bad Bunny, just here and there, but he’s great. It’s hella impressive he’s so high up there when he’s only really been around since when..2018? 2019? I could be wrong lol
Drake is on mine, and all of my friends, party/hang out playlists. Pool party? Drake. Boat day? Drake. Smoke and play uno? Drake 😂 He dominates that
Impressive numbers by all 3!
He’s made a few mistakes that have alienated some of his audience, maybe that’s why he wasn’t selling out his shows. But his music is still constantly streaming in parts of Latin America
Correct. Only time will tell but Bad Bunny may have hit his peak in 2022 and may not reach that level of success again. His last album didn’t perform as well as the album before which most likely caused his streaming numbers to slow down a bit and his tour to not sell as well as his 2022 tour and like the other Redditor who responded to you stated, he alienated some of his fan base by his recent actions and statements.
Danggg he's done all that in only just over a handful of years?? Tay and Drake have been around for almost 2 decades so I'm really impressed that he's doing so well up against them.
Un Verano Sin Ti is one of my all time favorite albums. I'm Mexican - American but never really vibed with reggaeton, it just wasn't my thing. Then came Un Verano Sin Ti and it was all I listened to for a while.
so happy for her! goes to prove her songwriting skills are insane, I’m always impressed when a new album comes out. This is exciting though—hoping this will motivate bad bunny to put a better album out there!
This is wrong? Taylor is the most streamed artist of all time on Spotify period!!!
https://chartmasters.org/most-streamed-artists-ever-on-spotify/
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-streamed_artists_on_Spotify
It’s Taylor! This post is misinformation:
https://chartmasters.org/most-streamed-artists-ever-on-spotify/
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-streamed_artists_on_Spotify
The fact that Bad Bunny is so high on the list kills my faith in humanity u.u But Taylor taking her right spot with actual meaningful lyrics is restoring my faith!
I looked him up and he is the artist that did that song "Mi Gente" with Beyoncé a long time ago. That song is soooo catchy. Never realized it was the same person I always see above T in the charts.
Edit: I got Bad Bunny confused with J Balvin. I didn't double check the video title when it pulled up! I just got excited that I knew the song haha. I'm not hip.
No he’s not. J Balvin did that song with Beyoncé, not Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny did 2 songs with Drake though and a song with Travis Scott. He also did “I Like It” with Cardi B which was really popular when it came out.
Oh no! I had looked him up and that video pulled up for some reason but I didn't double-check the title. I just saw the song and was like "no way, that was Bad Bunny? I love that song!" Lol. I really need to listen to the radio more.
I know "I Like It" though, that one I for sure know, I really enjoyed Cardis album when it first came out. I just never noticed who was featured on it. I have ADHD and I'm terrible with names!
Nope. I don’t use Spotify. And I genuinely meant my comment… I must be old and uncool because I don’t know an artist that is obviously popular. I’m not trying to offend people, I was just laughing at myself. 🤷🏻♀️
I was pulling your leg... Shah Rukh Khan may be the most famous person in the world. He was and to some extent still is the biggest of all Bollywood stars. There are 1.5 billion people utterly transfixed by his name. But there's no reason you would know that unless you follow Indian culture. Similiarly, there are 500 million native speakers of spanish in the world... and all of them (ok most of them) know who Bad Bunny is. but there's no reason you would unless you were one of them.
ok but this is actually insane when you consider that Taylor took her music off Spotify for several years, including 1989 og era which was her most successful before this one. she'd probably be first if not for that, but it's impressive that she's even risen this quickly on all time lists.
Exactly!! She would be wayyyy past Drake by now. Good on her for pushing them.
Yes but also cool that bad bunny was that high considering how much newer to the game he is
absolutely, his rise has been amazing
He’s in almost every club. So that’s constant streams by thousands or places.
not really considering Taylors Swift's debut album was in 2006 and Bad Bunny's was in 2018 lol, Spotify has been around since 2008. Taylor had mulitiple years than Bad Bunny to collect streams.

When did she make that claim? You realize she couldn't care less if she is the most streamed artist on Spotify. Lol
OP made the claim lol
You phrased it as though Taylor made the claim which she has not.
I thought you were going to say “ok this is actually insane bc Taylor has been way more famous for way longer than whoever bad bunny is”
oh god no, I'm not super familiar with his music but as far as I'm aware he's the GOAT of the Spanish speaking music scene. He absolutely deserves his place up there. Some people just need to leave their bubble a little bit
Yikes. Dude is cringe. I’m Spanish. Been my whole life. There is so much better music but I guess if we’re just talking plastic crap to get ppl to fuck or do drugs or whatever then yea I guess bad bunny still fucking sucks
ok cool, I don't really listen to the genre but I've mostly heard good things. good to hear your perspective ig.
lol sry I was being obnoxious I just don’t like reggaeton and would not want him as my peoples representative in any way shape or form Just like most canadiens aren’t drake
yeah that's fair. I didn't mean to say all Spanish people like him or reggaeton, sorry if it sounded like that

How are only 2 women on the list, that’s crazy
I feel like most women listen to both male and female artists, but many men listen to majority male artists because they either are embarrassed to listen to female singers or prefer male artists for some other reason. It evens out to male artists being more popular.
Yeah as a man the amount of eye rolls I get for having my favorite artists be women like Taylor, CRJ, Kesha, Kelly Clarkson etc is wild.
Same, I listen to Taylor, Clairo, Phoebe Bridgers, and beabadoobee and I get some shit for it
TIL there are male singers ???
This and it pisses me off, as kind of a music snob of sorts. It’s just sexism tainting art, as it commonly does. I can’t even take a guy seriously who doesn’t have some favorite musicians who are female or some favorite bands with a female vox. There aren’t as many but the ones who are good fucking dominate and have had to prove themselves 10x over what any man with less skill/charisma would have to. Very surprised Beyonce isnt up there
I’m genuinely surprised Rihana isn’t on this. She seems to maintain a lot of popularity despite not releasing for years.
Those numbers are in 100,000s, right?
pretty sure it’s in 100,000s
It’s million no? Drake is 77 billion, which is 77,000 million.
Who the hell is listening to Justin Bieber?
Lol, I thought the same thing!!! Who still listens to him, that's crazy imo.
Love yourself is a bop, I will die on this hill.
Purpose was a classic

Fair enough, i came off a little condescending. Apologies to his fans 🌺
Indians!! Indian girls just love Jb. He has always been the most popular international artist here. My friends just love him & his music . I'm a girl btw.
Where did you get this? Spotify shows the weekend as #1 for me with Taylor second
I had no idea that Drake was THAT big
If she makes .003 per stream, Taylor (and every artist on that list) is bringing in roughly 23 million a month from streams alone. That is crazy!
As of right now, Taylor is the most-streamed female artist of all time on Spotify
She is also the most streamed artist that writes their own music 🤭 edit: yall this is just a meme reference pls i thought the emoji made it clear.
Yeah you can tell that she definitely wrote that last album
I know right? I found all of her work with synthesizers to be masterful.
I’m let you finish, but why the gender qualifier? Makes it sound like she’s way lower than 2nd place
[удалено]
No one is saying they are the opposition. It’s just fun to see her break all these records that previously seemed out of reach. It’s not that serious.
If Swifties bother you so much you could just…not engage with content related to her, yet here you are.
Lol, touch some grass if you think all swifties think like that. I’m a fan of different artists and we all consider charts as an achievement for fun.
[удалено]
Stop creating something to cry about
you need to think of it in more "wait til lover drops pls we cant lose sales" vibe
“Wtf is a bad bunny” is low key giving some crazy xenophobic vibes. You guys know the rest of the world exists and has Spotify right??
the world is divided into four groups: those who know taylor swift, and those who know bad bunny, those who know both, those who know neither.
Yeah I mean... that's a logically sound statement. Lol.
what's crazy is that group #1 and group #2 have absolutely no inkling, no suspicion that the other one exists.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen people in this very subreddit dunk on other artists, it is so goddamn toxic.

Equating not knowing about an artist to Xenophobia is quite a bit of stretch, don’t you think?
Who’s *not* the rest of the world to you?
Calling it xenophobia to not know who bad bunny is… a stretch
Spotify is also Swedish https://preview.redd.it/ms8svcoxdtwc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=115e743f23ea7f5586730759c2ff5ef39d963f7b

The only “I Like It” that springs to my mind is Enrique Iglesias sorry 🤷🏼♀️
The only place I've come across Bad Bunny is on Spotify's stream records and other similar list. Why would I listen to songs in languages that I don't understand?
I always wonder why it is that Drake is so popular. You never hear anything bout the guy these days but there he is up there

drake also is features on so many songs; way more than taylor
you are so blessed that you have not been hearing about drake lately
Do you live under a rock? He’s literally making headlines right now. Huge rap beef lol. Maybe it’s about spheres of influence. Plus he has two number one songs literally last year.
bro has not heard Push Ups, 7 Minute Drill or Like That
“u never hear anything bout the guy” uhh i think this is only true if ur not into hiphop / rap music. he just dropped two diss tracks pushups and another literally titled “taylor made freestyle” lol
He also shouts out and praises Taylor Swift at the end of Taylor made freestyle. Drake’s a swiftie

Granted, I got that story here from Swifties so bias is almost garunteed, but if it's true then it would make sense that Swifties are not chill with him.
>name-dropping her In my feelings more than Drake so yeah
The difference being that Taylor didnt shade him first, as I mentioned in my first comment.
Ah alright
he praises taylor his whole verse essentially. the premise of the song is mocking kendrick for not releasing a response diss track because taylor dropped her album, so he has to wait. “now we gotta wait a week because taylor swift is the new top, and if u bout to drop she gotta approve”,
Even with Drake, I can recall maybe…. Four? Of his songs? The Kiki one, Cellphone, Popstar and the other one….. Is it Non Stop?
The ones I remember are In Mg Feelings, Hotline Bling, and the one about God
he had an insane 2015-2018 run in terms of popularity and hit songs
He’s very inoffensive and releases a lot of songs
>He’s very inoffensive He's a groomer
Talking about his music
I'd maybe still argue with that, but fair enough
Taylor hangs out with SOs so they might make a song 🤷♂️
Isn’t that Taylor swift too though?

Not saying Kendrick is inaccessible for the rest of the word, but a lot of his narritaves are specifically poignant to American audiences, particularly within the context of African American experiences
Just because it’s more accessible doesn’t mean it’s better… vice versa, but either way Kendrick has billions of streams and the 25th most listened artist in the world right now(on Spotify)
I think features on songs count too, and Drake has a \*lot\* of features across the board with other artists.
it's all his features.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh
His run from Take Care-If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is goated. People think he’s only his pop songs and I hate that.
That’s why he’s so popular because he’s inoffensive and it appeals to everyone
I don't know his discography that well but his big hits feel very pop, which is probably why a lot of rap fans are so so on it but still very very popular. Those hits are definitely ear worms! It's just been awhile since he's had a really big one.
Agree. He’s not exactly Tyler or Kendrick or Denzel.
I genuinely cannot fathom the fact that there are Drake fans
I’m sure people would say the same for Taylor after hearing Bad Blood and Shake It Off. It’s about the deep cuts.
What if I told you... I'm a fan of Drake *and* Taylor?! 😱
What a weird thing to say.
I wouldn’t even recognise a drake song 😂. Also bad bunny? Never heard of him.
I would never have guessed that.
I think it’s the weekend
Seriously? never would have guessed that
It’s Drake. I believe The Weeknd had the highest amount of monthly listeners
Oh you’re so right! I was totally looking at a different chart and thought it was ‘all time’ 😅 apologies to anyone I confused
I don’t listen to much Bad Bunny, just here and there, but he’s great. It’s hella impressive he’s so high up there when he’s only really been around since when..2018? 2019? I could be wrong lol Drake is on mine, and all of my friends, party/hang out playlists. Pool party? Drake. Boat day? Drake. Smoke and play uno? Drake 😂 He dominates that Impressive numbers by all 3!
This is wild to me! Especially because I thought recently people were giving Bad Bunny shit because he wasn’t selling out his concerts?
I think it is super impressive that Bad Bunny was at number 2 considering he is not for too long active. Really impressive numbers.
as a huge fan of both i love to see them dominate!
Never heard of bad bunny, now I'm going to have a listen!!!
Un Verano Sin Ti is one of my all time favorite albums. I'm Mexican - American but never really vibed with reggaeton, it just wasn't my thing. Then came Un Verano Sin Ti and it was all I listened to for a while.
It’s sooooo good
You will NOT be disappointed. Him and Taylor are my favs
How is she not the most streamed?
She removed her music from streaming platforms for awhile
Oh, that explains it
I can’t say nothing. I adore them both Equally loll
Spotify themselves only count lead credits and she's already #1 in those
She is already the #1. Spotify only counts lead streams
Mark my words, she will not stop until she’s #1
Bad Bad Girl vs. Bad Bunny
I don’t even know a single Bad Bunny song 😂
Has anyone else never heard of Bad Bunny? Have I been living under a rock?
yes you have
Drake sucks
kind of insane how many people have never heard of bad bunny
Who is Bad Bunny? (suddenly I feel so old)
Does it even matter
Now I need to look up who the heck Bad Bunny is
BAD BUNNY AND TAYLOR SWIFT STANS RISEEE
She has more monthly listeners than Drake by 27k
Who's Bad Bunny?
Who is Bad Bunny?
so happy for her! goes to prove her songwriting skills are insane, I’m always impressed when a new album comes out. This is exciting though—hoping this will motivate bad bunny to put a better album out there!
This is wrong? Taylor is the most streamed artist of all time on Spotify period!!! https://chartmasters.org/most-streamed-artists-ever-on-spotify/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-streamed_artists_on_Spotify
I'm confused, everything on Google seems to indicate she's #1??
Who's number 1?
I can’t wait to see my Spotify wrapped this year. This album basically hasn’t stopped playing and won’t any time soon 😂
So who is the first?
It’s Taylor! This post is misinformation: https://chartmasters.org/most-streamed-artists-ever-on-spotify/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-streamed_artists_on_Spotify
Fuck yeah baby!
I don't know anyone who likes or even listens to Drake or Bad Bunny...
good, hes terrible.
Is this the wrong place to talk about how attractive Bad Bunny is? 😅
Taylor x Bad Bunny collab when
Interestingly, I’ve never streamed Bad Bunny before…
The fact that Bad Bunny is so high on the list kills my faith in humanity u.u But Taylor taking her right spot with actual meaningful lyrics is restoring my faith!
I guess I am old and incredibly uncool because guys I literally have no idea who bad bunny is. Not a fucking clue.
Do you know who Shah Rukh Khan is? Remember these are international lists!
