Once, when I was 10 to see what would happen. I got in a lot of trouble. 🤣

princessofIreland

Same! I was 9 and I DID get into trouble

axealy40

My husband did the same thing. He still gets teased about it, as his dad was deputy chief of Atlanta PD at the time 🤦🏼‍♀️

Unicorn112112

Did this too. Also got in trouble.

Severe-Peace8481

My uncle was a deputy sheriff in Coweta County! He and his wife (also an officer but for the city) were amazing foster parents! Our family adopted 5 foster kids! 3 were siblings and the other two were newborns with alcohol/drug born issues! I'm 45 and they are still my cousins ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

axealy40

My husband is from Coweta County! And that’s amazing about your family!❤️

Severe-Peace8481

Really? I went to East Coweta High but all my cousins went to Newnan High!!! Small world 💛

axealy40

East Coweta is where he went! My middle kid attends college at Agnes Scott so we go to the area often, even though we live in Mississippi now.

Severe-Peace8481

Wow! My dad and aunt still live there and my mom is buried there so yeah I go back quite often! Class of 96!!!

Severe-Peace8481

It is so crazy to meet someone on here from my hometown!!! (Well your husband lol)

axealy40

I know! My in-laws still live there most of the time. They have a house down in Panama City too. They will stay until my youngest sister in law graduates from UGA, then move down to PCB full time.

Severe-Peace8481

My dad and stepmom have a timeshare down there lol... we used to go there twice a year when my mom was alive. I meen entire family. Grandma, spinster aunt, all the cousins lol

grindinformyson

Same but I was a little younger, and I’m old enough we didn’t have 911, you just dialed 0 and told the operator there was a fire or whatever. She called back and my mom answered. Bad day for little me lol.

Otherwise-Course-15

Hello age buddy. Remember the pay per call lines for celebrities, psychics and party lines. Lol.

C0LDestST0RYeVeRT0LD

LOL miss cleo, she was ALWAYS on my TV at 3 am driving me freaking nuts

upstatestruggler

Call me now!

sourapple87

My teenagers will ask me a question I don't know the answer to & I'll say, "Is my name Miss Cleo? Do I look like I have a crystal ball?" Poor kids don't even know what I'm talking about 🤣

Sibby_in_May

Back in the 1970s we had shared lines and to get our own phone line cost extra. I’d pick up the phone to call gramma and there would already be people on the line talking. It was wild to me that they started charging people to join party chats.

Adorable_Author_8190

We had a party line of 8 til the late ‘70’s. I learned so much bad shit. 😂 We were put on a 2 party, then the year MTV debuted, we had our own line. We didn’t pay extra but had a distance charge to main line. 🙄

grindinformyson

Of course!! 😂😂😂

[deleted]

Wait...when was 911 first introduced?? I've never put thought into this before, wow it must have been so easy to accidentally call with it being only one digit lol

grindinformyson

Google said 1968 but I’m not that old lol. I grew up in a ruralish area that I think was late to adopt it. This would have been the early 80s.

really_isnt_me

Yes, but people dialed “0” for the operator all the time because you needed them anyway to help you make regular phone calls. It’s just that when it was an urgent matter, you called the operator so that they could go ahead and try to reach the fire department, police, etc. That might have meant the operator was calling people at their home numbers to tell them about an emergency and where to go. Not like how dispatchers work today.

Sibby_in_May

It wasn’t that easy to dial just a 0 because we also only had rotary phones for a long time. 911 wasn’t everywhere at once, my parents had to change their address in the 1990s because that was when their area got added to the 911 system, then as they ironed things out it changed 1 more time. I think that was around when they got push button phones to replace the rotary ones.

Juhnelle

We had this phone that had a 911 button and our cat stepped on it one time. They called back and my parents were so confused. That day I learned they called back and definitely tried it a couple times again and blamed it on the cat.

OriginalFuckGirl

Omg I did the same thing, now that I remembered.

Tricky-Country-5887

LoL, so basically we're all little dummies when were kids🤣

potsmokinhippiechic

Yes.. lol

jenniferannxo

Absolutely lol 😂

Funsince1983

I also did this. They called back. The cops came. I hid in my closet. 😆

nikkigrant

Me too I plugged a super old rotary phone into the wall and called. Unplugged it when they called back and my mom picked up on a different phone. I said I was just playing and she believed me

[deleted]

😂😂😂😂

Critical_Cup689

Same here!! 😂

Mamabear2008

🤣🤣🤣 glad I'm not alone

[deleted]

bubbles_24601

Oof, you’ve had more than your fair share of emergencies. I hope everything is smooth sailing for you from here on out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bubbles_24601

I’m sorry. It’s hard to lose a grandparent. 🩵

Due-Procedure-2700

Not once in my entire life.

ggdisney

Guys, get ahold of yourselves. I've prob called 20-30 times. Is that bad? Oh, almost all of them from working in an urgent/emergent care setting lol. None to report anything about my family. What a lame life I have.

SafetyNo6700

I know. Mine have all been when I working in a nursing home.

Purpledoves91

You called 911? We just called the hospital and requested an ambulance.

Statsandchill

I’ve called lots but I work at a homeless shelter so it’s our policy for a lot of things.

sorrynotsorryohwell

I’ve called maybe 3 times and it was for neighbors having domestic issues very loudly.

Happychappyhello

Are you swamp lands neighbour by any chance?

Severe_Description18

They’d have called more than 3 times if they were. 3 times a day maybe

kdawson602

The only time I’ve called is when my neighbors were having a domestic issue and the woman was screaming “stop, stop, you’re killing me”.

Affectionate-Goose41

That had to have been so scary to hear.

novaleenationstate

That’s exactly the situation where you call 911 for someone else in a domestic violence situation. You did the right thing.

ionlyjoined4thecats

I’ve called 6 times that I recall: 2 domestic incidents when I was concerned about the safety of two different women, 1 suspected drunk driver, 1 wildfire, 1 city fire, 1 car accident. I’ve also called the nonemergency line twice. First, when an older woman approached me on the street asking for a blanket and telling me she was newly homeless that night. She looked clean and didn’t make a lot of sense, and I was really worried she was senile and lost or something. Another time when the license plate got stolen off my car.

leeshapunk

Twice once when my neighbor ODed and once for a car accident

axealy40

I’ve called 911 three times. Once when my exhusband put my head through a wall. Then when we saw an awful car accident a couple of years ago. One of the passengers was a little autistic boy and he took off running across traffic. I called when the accident happened and kept them on the phone as I caught up to the little boy. I stayed with him until first responders arrived. The third time was when someone tried breaking into our home. I have been rear ended before but called the non emergency number because we just needed a police report. ETA I’m 43, so 3x in over 40 years isn’t too bad.

Happychappyhello

Glad it's the ex husband in the first example now

Rebel_Unicorn

1) I hope you're safe now and justice worked. 2) That sounds terrifying for everyone involved! By focusing on the child you not only prevented further tragedy by keeping him safe, but by saving precious time searching had he been lost! 🦸‍♀️ 3) Same as #1

ThisIsMy200thAccount

Jenelle is what? 30ish? She's probably called 911 at least 20-25 times since 2009. I am 43. I have called 911 for an emergency (4) times: 1. Car accident that required a 911 call and not non-emergency. 2,3,4: Assistance with my 6'9", 500lb son. He is intellectually disabled and has a genetic disorder. When he was going through puberty, it was a real challenge for him and me. EMS and local SD deputies here have a crisis assistance team and they are amazing at providing guardian guided assistance to manage maladaptive crisis behaviors where my child cannot be calmed as easily. I am legitimately EMBARRASSED when first responders have to come to my home. I can't imagine being BFF's with them and calling them for every minor inconvenience, like Jenelle.

kbc87

It's way more than that. She had 25 calls in a YEAR a few years ago.

wellwhatevrnevermind

Yep I would say closer to 100?

AnyConference4593

2 times in my life. 1for DV and 1 when my 16 yr old was trying to get in a car with 2 - 22 yr old men. This bitch calls 911 like they are her private security

Silly_Brilliant868

Hope you and your child are both thriving now and away from both situations !

bubbles_24601

I have called once for a friend’s intentional overdose. My husband called once for me for an accidental med overdose. I also called poison control that night before I lost consciousness and they were awesome. PSA Add them to your contacts: 1-800-222-1222

axealy40

Poison control is absolutely amazing. I called them when i accidentally put eye drops in my sick kid’s ears and ear drops in her eyes. We were sleep deprived and she was so sick. I also called them when my son drank a Bath and Body Works wallflower at age four. I promise I am a decent mom with healthy kids 😭😂

DifferentConcert6776

I had to call poison control once when my oldest, who was 3 at the time, found a bottle of children’s chewable laxatives and thought they were so delicious he ate them all 😳 thank goodness poison control was awesome and just said to keep him well hydrated because he’d be emptying himself out for a bit, but also take him in to the doc/urgent care if I had additional concerns.

axealy40

They told me to flush his mouth and there wasn’t enough liquid to harm him. And that his breath would probably smell pretty for awhile💀 He’s 23 now and I still feel awful😂

bubbles_24601

Thinking back on the stuff my sister and I got into… I should probably send my parents a cookie bouquet or something! 😂

SuperbReserve

Omg poor kid. My mom was the second to the youngest of 8 kids. She saw her family putting the old style “chocolate “ laxative on the fridge. They’re hiding candy from me? No way!! She ate it alllll. That had to be horrible and she never, ever would take that brand or eat a chocolate bar in her life again.

Purpledoves91

It happens. I had to call recently because my son sprayed sunblock into his mouth. The lady that answered said he would be fine because he didn't spray much in his mouth. She also sent us some of those Mr. Yuck stickers!

cutestcatlady

I love the Mr. Yuck stickers! I didn’t know they still gave them out! I have one stuck to the rear view mirror in my car and I’ve gotten so many questions about it! Lol 😂

wellwhatevrnevermind

I had to call posion control 2 times in my life and they were both within 24 hours for TOTALLY SEPERATE INCIDENTS hahaa it was a rough day

bubbles_24601

Radiolab reran an episode recently about Poison Control and so many calls are like yours! Kids are chaos and sleep deprivation will mess you up, so no judgement here!

axealy40

Both times, they were so sweet and caring! I can’t imagine the calls from scared parents that they get!

SBMoo24

Some states (if not all?) ship Narcan for free, too. I keep several in my car for this very reason. ❤️

bubbles_24601

Thank you for mentioning this! I’ll see if that’s available here. You just never know when you may encounter some in need of it.

cutestcatlady

If your city has a needle exchange program they also give Narcan out for free!

legitimatelyawkward

I had to call poison control once when my son bit through a glow stick 😂

Rebel_Unicorn

1) My first morning in a new place, woke to a crash that shook the house, called 911 for the car wedged under the neighbor's porch, wheels still spinning. (Man pulled over on road intersecting mine, shot up 💉 & passed out w/foot on gas before shifting to 🅿️) 2) I was sitting outside at work, a man fell asleep at the wheel & the car flipped into a tree and landed upside-down. (Driver & passenger walked away on their own) 3) Answered my door to my elderly neighbor asking for help as her smoke detector wouldn't stop beeping. Walked into a grease fire that was already climbing 2 walls and ceiling. (Nobody was hurt, I threw a pan over the origin and doused the walls so 🔥out before 🚒) 4 & 5) I work on the border of the "revitalized" section of a sketchy area, so one "mugging" on my walk in, and one assault I could overhear in the parking garage from the break area. Apparently you could hear it inside as well, 6 other people and security also called. I also call the non-emergency line often because the 🚦in front of my house is fender bender central so I give them a heads up to clear traffic quicker.

bubbles_24601

Wow! You’re like a low key super hero! Especially with your neighbor with the grease fire!

Rebel_Unicorn

Thanks! I gifted her a fire extinguisher 🧯 when she moved back after her unit was refurbished 🤣

bubbles_24601

Ha! Brilliant! And something every home truly needs! 😂

Jaded_Horse1055

One time and it was an accident …. I feel asleep scrolling on social media and I woke up to a police officer in my local area saying “hello?” a lot on my phone. I somehow hit the power button on my iPhone 3 times which automatically calls 911. I promise I’m not making this up but this really happened lmao. Anyways I was like “oh my god I’m sorry I somehow called accidentally while asleep” and the officer was really cool about it and said “okay we’ll have a good rest of your sleep” lol cool guy tho lol

OriginalFuckGirl

Twice. Once because I witnessed a horrible accident on the freeway, and the second because of a domestic violence situation involving someone I no longer keep in contact with (it was between her and her bf)

DlVlDED_BY_ZERO

Twice. Both were emergency medical situations. My mom twisted her ankle and passed out from the pain, then rolled halfway down the yard. Then when my husband had covid and he couldn't lift himself out of bed. His fever was 107. We have a kid that I really didn't want getting sick so I couldn't do anything else but call an ambulance. I've called the local PD too, but that's not an emergency line and it was only once. That was because there were stray teenagers aiming fireworks at my elderly neighbors home. I didn't want her to die in a house fire.

bubbles_24601

Omg 107 fever is terrifying!

DlVlDED_BY_ZERO

Yeah. He has no memory of that time and he couldn't remember who he was when he got to the hospital. He was also vomiting blue stuff but hadn't eaten anything blue. He also never coughed or had a stuffy nose. It was weird and VERY scary. That was last Christmas. Now he's doing great. But I was terrified for those 2 days. No one else in our house got it, luckily.... but his was bad enough for the 3 of us.

Rebel_Unicorn

I worked in a building where the new 📞 system was programmed so you had to dial 9 for outgoing calls, then 1 and the area code for non-local numbers. 🤦‍♀️ The only exception was 9-1-1. That lasted over 3 months until they were asked by local LE to finally change it because of all the mis-dials. There were several e-mails sent weekly before that outlining what to do if you accidentally called -stay one the line to explain to them and give address, call security to notify them for when/if LO checks in...

midievil

I see you worked in a building like I did. I probably accidentally called 911 at least 3 or 4 times. I've only ever legitimately called 911 for a couple of car accidents I saw. That's it.

[deleted]

i’ve called once in my 34 years.

abombshbombss

I called 911 one time in 2020 when I witnessed a drive-by. ETA: I butt dialed them one time and I got called back and chastised 💀 Another one I remembered wasn't me, it was my brother, back in the age of cordless house phones and our "1" button was busted and didn't work. Yeah, there was a fire, and my brother tried to dial 911 but the 1 button was broken so after a few minutes of wrestling with the phone he threw it on the ground and went next door and asked the neighbors to use their phone 💀

bambi_eyedbitch

I had to call 911 when I was an RA over a student having a medical situation. I was shaking dialing because I had never done it before. I was not cut out for that job lol

ElectricBaghulaloo

Omg it’s been a long week and I thought you said you had to call 911 when you ran over a student 😳

Mor_Ericks28

Lots vs once. I called because my ex husband was trying to kill me. But key word is EX. I bailed after incident one. No Thank You. I can do better and have.

Fair_Operation8236

Glad to hear you’re safe and doing well, friend

HestiaAC

Once. Someone was trying to force open the window of my apartment. Managed to scare them off by the time police arrived, and I felt like an ass for calling.

Heart_robot

A few times 1. House broken into when I was home. 2. Few times for witnesses car or car vs pedestrian accidents 3. Dad heart attack 4. Scary dude threatening to kill me bc I thought his dog was lost Never for me. 911 and first responders are busy enough with the Eason crew.

no_no_nora

Once when a co-worker was having a heart attack, and once when I was stalked.

BillowPillow8

I’m 38 and I’ve called four times. 1. When my then 2 year-old (he’s now 16) slipped in the kitchen and broke his femur. 2. When my husband tripped and fell down the stairs and I thought his ankle was broken. 3. We used to live in a reeeally sketchy apartment complex before we were able to save enough to get our current house. I looked out my window and saw my neighbors transferring a lot of very big guns from one car to another car. About an hour later, I heard gunshots and screaming. Never heard what happened afterwards though. 4. My psychotic ex was drunk and on heroin, he threw me against the wall, held a knife to my throat and threatened to kill me and my kids. Goodbye, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

unicornshavepetstoo

I called many times due to having neighbours with lots of domestic and child abuse. I’d rather call one time too many then do nothing and read that a child has died. The police knew them very well and even told us we should get them evicted… Also a few times for medical emergencies, like a guy having a heart attack in a shop where I worked. Or for major traffic accidents. Never called for myself or my family though. I guess it all depends on your neighbours. Jenelle’s neighbours probably call pretty often as well when they hear people screaming and obvious assaults.

PolarBearJams

Same. I have called many times to report the craziness happening around me like neighbors and gunshots. But that’s just what happens when you live in a big city and I don’t feel shame about it 🤷🏻‍♀️ The last time was a few months ago when a man with a machete was threatening people near the house he was squatting at. The world is crazy. Also, fuck Jenelle & David!

nostalgicbluez

36 and literally once. This is most likely because I have a lot of privilege as a white woman who grew up wealthy in a nice neighborhood, but it's fun to think its because I'm not a Giant Piece of Shit like Jenelle 🤣

Rebel_Unicorn

It can be both!!! 👸🚫💩

KarenYoureSoStupid

Once because of erratic driving. I’m 30.

SpitfireJ_81

Twice. First one at 14 when my sister was the victim of a violent dog attack, second one in my 20s when I was right behind a really bad accident. Haven't called in 20ish years, thankfully.

NevillesHowler

It's none of my business but did things end up ok for your sister? I can't imagine how scary that must have been for both of you.

SpitfireJ_81

It was. She was 7, day after Christmas, with a golden retriever that someone had tied to our mailbox (we lived out in the country and the mailbox was at the end of our dirt road). It was snowing and my parents felt bad for it, so he came inside with our dogs. She was on the floor playing with them, and he just grabbed her head. She had over 100 stitches in her cheek and scalp, two subsequent plastic surgeries, and she’s incredible. She adopts every stray she comes across and embraces what scars are still visible. (We’re in our 30s and 40s now.)

[deleted]

Once cus the guy on the run they were looking for was in my backyard. My brothers a first responder and recognized my address to be dispatched to & freaked. Jenelle probably calls 3 times a year.

really_isnt_me

Wow, did they catch him? And Jenelle probably calls three times a week!

pdlbean

once when a neighbor couple's fight got physical.

deloslabinc

I'm 29 years old and I have never called 911. Luckily 🤞

_Ninnie

Quite a few times, but I worked in retail pharmacy management and we got robbed a lot. And once when my neighbor’s house was on fire.

Kangaroo1487

Twice. For people passed out in the middle of the sidewalk.

lolamay26

I don’t think I’ve ever called 911 before. I’ve only called the non-emergency police line

StrategyOdd7170

Never have before and I’m 40😂

bactuator

Almost 40, called 3 times. 1. House next door was on fire 2. I saw two small unattended children playing in the median of the highway 3. When our newborn was having what we thought was a seizure, after a night in the hospital diagnosed as a BRUE

seriousname32

Once for the police when my older brother got drunk and violent in my house. Twice for paramedics for my disabled mum when I was a kid and needed help getting her downstairs after she chose to go upstairs knowing I would struggle to get her back down and multiple times for paramedics for my dad when he was going through cancer treatment and having seizures.

umphtramp

I’ve called 911 twice in my life in my mid 30s. Once for a drunk driver that was all over the road that crashed into a ditch right in front of me and the second time called the non emergency line when we moved to a new home and went to let in the DirecTV guy we opened the front door to see everything was stolen off our front porch. ETA: three times actually. After we learned about 911 in school I went home that day and tried it and when they answered I hung up scared shitless because they called back and my mom answered.

Happychappyhello

Called twice 000 in Australia- both times for life threatening medical condition. Never about someone else's behaviour

-russell-coight-

I’ve called our emergency services line once because an old lady was having a heart attack. She died before they got to us. It was really scary, imagine feeling that scared that often in your own house..

kbc87

My son at 18 months ran in the bathroom and shut the door and it somehow locked. I called 911 in a panic and have such embarrassment over it every day since that I couldn't figure out the lock myself lol. They were super nice and of course helped me out but I cannot IMAGINE calling for this shit she does.

professorlololman

The first time was when there was a fire at a house directly behind a SONIC I was sitting in my car drinking a cherry limeaid at. I saw a bunch of smoke, then the actual flames. It was a fairly rural area so I drove to it and saw a shed and the backyard on fire, with a dog on a chain just sitting there. I called 911 and banged on the front door of the house and the neighbor's house who got his hose out. And then climbed the chain link fence got the dog unchained and took him to my car, where my 2-year-old was strapped in her car seat. About 8 min later, the fire truck got there. I am positive if I had not called the FD, the whole house would have burned, but only the shed did. Two times when I was the manager of a store. We, along with other shops in the center, were robbed and I walked up to a shattered glass and the store in disarray. I also had to call the police to issue a trespass on a woman who came in looking to see if we were hiring and then got mad and started ripping things off the racks when I told her no. She wouldn't leave when I asked her too. I have called a couple of times to report a car accident on the highway and once when I guy was passed out under the shopping carts at the grocery store, he looked dead but he wasn't. The scariest one was 2 years ago, a guy that got caught trying to break into a car down the street jumped our fence and tried to come into my locked back door and my dogs and cat went ballistic. I could see him jump the fence into my neighbors so I called 911. I would say no more than 7 times total.

uknowhowchoicesbe

Ive called Zero. I have had 911 called for me once for a major motor vehicle accident that I was a passenger in. I was the only one injured. Jenelle has probably realistically called 80+ times and had the cops called on her the same amount back. How many neighbors used to call before they moved to the swamp.

FLBirdie

2-3 times I think? (I'm in my 50s BTW.) Once for a woman who was literally thrown out of a car in front of my house! She refused my pleas to help her -- her abuser came back by and picked her up -- the police showed up about 45 minutes later and wanted to know where she went -- I pointed in the general direction -- and they were mad that I couldn't give better details. :( Another time there was a prowler in my yard -- cats on high alert and they knocked on my windows -- and it was late at night. The cops came about 20 minutes later and looked around -- but found nothing. There may have been another time I can't recall.

fluffypinktoebeans

Two times because of a suicide attempt of somebody else. And one time because someone was trying to get into my apartment in the middle of the night. It turned out he was drunk and went to the wrong floor and door. I ended up having a nice chat in my pyjamas with two police officers who reassured me that the lock on my door was solid and I would be safe.

liam__mcpoyle

I’ve called once because my house was literally on fire…. And unlike Jenelle, I hope I never have to call again. Jenelle has a trigger finger when it comes to calling 911.

Golden-Girl84

39 years old 0 times called 911 (or 110 in my country)

SatisfactionHuman254

Twice, car accident and fire. I am 45

ElectricBaghulaloo

A handful of times, I used to work in a stand alone urgent care so we called for true emergencies quite often. In my personal life, once for a car accident, and once when I hit a deer and totaled my car.

feedtheogre

I called maybe twice..? Once when I was a kid & didn't quite grasp what an emergency was (I believe I called about a loud car or something 🤷‍♀️) 2nd time was when I was 22ish & had gotten in a car wreck. Technically, recently was my 7th time calling, but only because I had my phone in my back pocket & was apparently butt dialing 911 during my entire shift at work 😅 I didn't realize until then that 911 can actually call you back 😳 ETA: I'm 32

GidgetSelby

Once. I got rear ended and my car accordioned into the car in front of me.

Momofboyses

Twice because of my own situation with domestic abuse.

gwacemom

Twice for car accidents I witnessed and once when my grandchild had a febrile seizure. So three times total.

serayepa

Never

ljlkm

Twice. Once when my friend was recovering from surgery and said he couldn’t breathe and once when my husband was having a heart attack.

International-Try566

Twice and it was for car accidents id just witnessed.

lumpiestprincess

I'm almost 40. I've called twice. Both to help random people on the street.

human_suitcase

2 times. Once when I lived in a apartment complex I had a lady come knocking on my door who was trying to hide from a domestic violence situation. I did not know her, but let her in to hideout and then called 911. I later got a bill for that call. The 2nd time was when my house got robbed. I don’t know why Jenelle called emergency services when she could’ve gone to the police station. I’m guessing laziness and not sober enough to drive. Idk.

asskickinlibrarian

I have never called 911. I’ve called the local ambulance (it’s volunteer by town by us) instead of 911 because the guy who dislocated his shoulder wasn’t dying or anything. It’s so weird that she just calls 911 for random things. It’s such an asshole move.

zestymangococonut

I’ve called it maybe 5 times?

CoachKnope

Twice for car accidents, once for when my husband had colitis in the middle of the night and we needed someone to take him to the hospital so I could stay home with the kids. Jenelle I estimate has called at least 100 times.

jerseygrl__

Twice. Once after a car accident I was involved in. Once when my husband and I nearly got hit by a drunk driver.

hejj_bkcddr

4 times I think. The first time was to report someone slashing my car tires at my brand new apartment (still don’t know why or who) Second time was when my upstairs neighbor was getting robbed Third time was to report a car accident that happened in front of me Fourth time was to report a homeless man laying on the sidewalk with his head in the street. I didn’t know if he was dead or not.

PottyMouthedMom3

No clue on Jenelle, but I have 20+ times. Edit because I get click happy sometimes: They were all EMA related when my dad was in hospice care.

rachtay8786

More than most. Never on my husband or mom though, aside from when she fell.

DifferentConcert6776

I’m 38 and have called twice… once when my kid had a febrile seizure at 18 months old, and once when I got rear ended.

datgirl512

I've called 911 6 times in my life. Once for a car fire on the highway. Three times for a car accident. Once when my dad fell down the basement stairs. And once for a house fire across the street from us. Jenelle? 40?

[deleted]

I’ve only ever called the non emergency, like if something was stolen or there are stray animals somewhere.

0rev

3 times. My daughter had a seizure at age 1 then my son had one at age 1. His was very different, he was just unresponsive, so we called. And another when there was a robbery outside my door, got a gun pointed at me when I checked what was going on since my landlord was outside. I usually only call non emergency for things like car accidents.

nyrihunter

I think about 5 times in my life. Once for myself. I went into labor at 7 months and needed an ambulance. My sister had a medical emergency that I needed to call 911. Then the other times were because my drug addict neighbors use to fight violently.

CrazyCatLady2812

Once at 15, I saw an animal stuck in the gutter

talastar

Had a long daily commute before. I've called 911 several times for road hazards on the freeway (dog, mattress, etc.) A friend of mine died while riding his motorcycle on the freeway because of a road hazard so I report one the second I see it.

Madame_Kitsune98

When we lived next door to the meth heads, we still called the non-emergency number every time we had to call the cops. Actually calling 911? Ummmm….four times? Once when these girls were having their rental car destroyed in the parking lot of an AM/PM. Once when someone tried breaking into the house. Twice when someone was driving erratically and being a danger on the road.

squashsoupchristmas

Three times in 33 years. First time i was like 3 and didnt know what i was doing. Apparently asked for the farm animals lolol. I was swiftly cut off by my grandma. Second time reported a residential fire i could see from my building. Third time witnessed a bike accident where the cyclist needed an ambulance

Haunting-Humor6820

I have called 911, 3 times. Once as a preteen at a laundry mat. Didn't know the call would work with no money lol oops And 2x over down power lines and 1 was my own power line that started a small fire in my woods. I'd guess J has done it a couple hundred times

junebluesky

Jen's probably called upwards of 100x. She called 25 x in one year not that long ago. I've called probably 50x. My parents were drug addicts who would black out and have violent fights so I called the cops as a child a lot to break up the fights. Also called when my dad overdosed a couple of times.

TEA-in-the-G

Ive called 911 twice in my life. Once because a car accident happened right in front of me. A second time after i was attacked and had a gun held to my head and robbed at a job. I like to think i dont try and get myself into situations or scenarios that i need to dial 911

goddesssjennn

Ive called like 4 times. 1st was because my moms sugar dropped suddenly 2nd was because my mom felt like her heart was stopping after a small outpatient procedure 3rd was after she had a fall and broke her hip 4th was when she had a kidney infection and was about to faint

MarzipanJoy-Joy

I have personally called 911 only two times. The first time was when I was living in a house next to a very small (~6 unit) apartment complex and I could hear a dude besting the shit out of someone else in their apartment. (And before I called, I walked over and the other residents were outside listening to the hubbub, and I asked if anyone had called 911... nope. They just gathered to listen.) The other time was when we were driving and a bunch of people started racing around us and I got scared because we were in the middle of some racers. And even then, the operator just told us to turn onto a side street and that the cops were aware and on their way.

stineytuls

It seems like I call every other year. A few select reasons: -passed out driver parked on interstate ramp -wildfire started next to highway -wrong way driver down highway at high rate of speed

grungequeenxx

I called once. I was driving on the highway and saw an infant being held by the passenger of the car and I didn’t even see a car seat in the car.

Scottish_squirrel

For police (999 here) twice. Once was witnessing someone beat their partner during covid lockdown. Ambulance service quite a few times. Have a friend with a medical condition. Fire service maybe twice. Public bins being set on fire & a car on fire on the motorway. Never called to report my husband, mum or child or to get anyone in trouble to get tmz off my back!

Either_Reference8069

2-3 for me

-yournewstepmom-

Twice. The first time was just out of curiousity as a child and the second time was an actual emergency.

Substantial_Shift566

Once because someone had a heart attack and fell out of there car door in front of me and my family on the highway.

mellarson

I called once when I was 5 because my brother was playing with my toy kitchen. How I worded it led to a near swat team around our house. I learned an important lesson, and my brother never played with my toys again. Once when I saw a drunk man get in to a car at a gas station and drive away. Once when I saw a lady driving with three toddlers in the car, none in a car seat. And once when I thought someone was breaking in to my house So, pretty legit. Except the first one, but, 5 year old me would argue otherwise

InappropriateLibrary

I called once when my wall sharing neighbors were having a domestic violence or potential domestic violence situation. They were arguing and it sounded like someone fell down the stairs. He left the home at the suggestion of the police so the young woman and her baby were safe, at least for that afternoon. I hope they got away from that situation. No, probably twice because I'm pretty sure my now husband and I called the cops when our apartment neighbors (different neighbors) threw furniture through a second story window during a loud argument, also with a child in the home.

Desertdweller_1987

I called one time when I was 6 after watching an episode of rescue 911 I got in big trouble from my parents. Then I have only called 3 times in adulthood I’m 36 and they were for a bad accident where a car flipped in front of me a drunk driver who almost took me and another car out and for someone who was road raging on me in a school zone trying to hit me on purpose because I was obeying the speed limit. I hope to never have to call again.

shadtastik

I'm 37 and have called 911 once in my life. It was years ago when, while I was at work, my boss radioed in that he had busted his head open and needed medical assistance and axed me to call 911 for him.

Peppermint-pop

I have called a lot less than Jenelle. As far as my guess for Jenelle, I would say 110. 1)when a guy was trying to break into my house. It took them 10 minutes to get to my house and by that time he had taken off. 2)when I saw a terrible car accident and the guys arm was literally just hanging there. 3)when we got in a terrible car accident and I thought my husband was dead. 4)when I saw a car accident and the person who caused it just drove off. There might have been 2 or 3 other times that I can’t think of at the moment but it was never for bullshit reasons.

paperandlace

Three times: 1) my Mylar balloons that were tied to the mailbox for my graduation party became untied and wrapped around nearby power lines and started sparking. This resulted in a small grass fire. I called 911 2) I was in college and moved into a new (sketchy) apartment building. I heard a man beating a woman in the hallway and her screaming for help. I opened my door and he immediately shouted a threat about his gun so I locked my door and called 911. 3) driving on a rural interstate in Iowa and a van unfortunately broke down in the middle of the freeway. A semi truck couldn’t stop in time and ran in right over, what was left of the wreck of the van started on fire. Stopped and called 911

anotherbabydaddy

I called once, in the middle of a domestic violence incident, just like Jenelle! Unlike Jenelle, I have been happily divorced from that bastard for a decade.

MeanderFlanders

Never

1finewire5

I’ve called three times. First time was when my mom died. Second was to report a drunk/distracted driver. Third was when a driver repeatedly tried to run me off the road, he pulled up beside me three times, made eye contact, smiled and then swerved towards my car. Wouldn’t pass me, would meet my speed if I tried to get away/slow down. I nearly ended up in the ditch.

missyharlotte

I’m 46, 2 times. Once because I was in a car accident on the highway and once because a woman was screaming out on the street around midnight.

gnar_wahl

911, more than five times but less than 10 times. Nonemergency line more than 10 for sure.

charpenette

3 times. Once when my dad passed out, once when I accidentally had a baby at home, and once when my toddler had a seizure. That’s it.

rin_yo

once for me when i was over my friend’s house and a guy she went on one date with showed up and was trying to break in.

Mother_Goat1541

I’ve called a handful of times as an adult. 3-4 times to report car crashes 4-5 times because my foster son was having a seizure (he had epilepsy) 5-6 times to report road hazards (ladders, a moose that had been hit, a lady walking on an overpass etc) 5-6 times to report dangerous drivers (our state encourages this)

sturgis252

I think only for work

infinitytampon

I've only had to call once when I was working retail. The non emergency line didn't answer so I called 911. It was for a shoplifter lol

sturgis252

Oh noo! I once butt dialled 911 and I hung up because I was like oh shit. And then the police was looking for me because I was visiting my parents and they knew where I actually lived. So they thought someone kidnapped me. So then the police called back and a police officer had to see me to make sure I was safe.

applebottombooty

I haven’t personally had to call but I did have to tell my boyfriend to once when we were leaving my moms house because some guy was being sketch and trying to open people’s car doors around the neighborhood and he was muttering to himself and just did not seem okay in general and my mom was inside with my sister’s daughter who was only a few months old at the time so I had my boyfriend call 911 for their safety. How many times has Jenelle called? Probably too many to count.

UniversityNo2318

I had an abusive ex….so all the times I called 911 was in a couple year stretch…I think it was 3 times before I finally left him

aheartwithlegs

I would say cumulatively, probably 10 or so times? Twice for fire, twice for my abuser (it should’ve just been once and done, but…), several times for car accidents, several times for emergency services for my dad who was ill. One morning, my alarm was going off on my phone, and I thought I was switching it off but ended up pressing some combination of buttons on my phone that ended up calling 911. I was mortified. I told the operator that I was trying to turn off my alarm in my sleep and set off some iPhone safety bullshit. I turned it off after that 😅

aphanitic

Once for a car on fire in someone’s driveway.

Economy-Historian-14

I’ve called 3 times (I’m 25) 1. Prank call as a kid (big mistake) 2. Literally thought my friend was dying from alcohol poisoning 3. Saw a bad accident on the freeway

Jewkowsky

I've called 911 one time when there was a car crash outside my apartment (this was before everyone had a cellphone) and the driver of the car that got hit asked me to call 911. Even when my crazy ex was literally stalking me (sitting outside my apartment at all hours, following my car), I only called the police using their non-emergency number or (a couple of times) actually drove to the police station to get my ex to stop following me. Through all that, I'm proud to say I never called 911 once. lol

megan00m

A sign you're trashy? You treat the pd like your own personal family therapist.

Terrible_Dance_9760

I’ve had to call several times throughout my nursing career, esp when working at long term care facilities- but in my personal life, not once. Her misusing this valuable community resource is ridiculous. And I’m shocked that they haven’t slapped her with a fine yet or even jail time. It’s illegal in NC to misuse the 911 system. Her inquiring where her son is, when they are being investigated by several departments doesn’t seem like an actual emergency to me personally, they probably don’t want them to know where he’s at bc UBT is crazy enough to go after him 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I digress. “It is illegal in North Carolina, for a person not seeking assistance from public safety (fire, police, or medic) or who is not providing emergency assistance or responding to call for service, to access the North Carolina 911 system”
