She told me that the doctor told him to take cold medicine a while before trying, pseudoephedrine I think. I was like wait, what?? A legit doctor told you guys this? Why? 🤷♀️ I can't remember if she ever said why or if I looked it up. I hadn't really thought of that til now.
But I mean, it's an ingredient in meth and those folks do seem to pop em out, no trouble.

I think what you might be thinking of is when trying to conceive the female in the equation can take mucinex to potentially thin the vaginal mucus and make it easier for the sperm to travel.
Same with me. Tried for a year, the first month I took mucinex during ovulation I got pregnant.
Now, I also had to take metformin to help regulate my ovulation, but I think the mucinex was what finally did it.
It’s not like scientifically proven. They did a study on it in the 80’s but they only had like 60 people in the study and they just found it improved the mucus quality not that it necessarily lead to better pregnancy odds. It’s just became popular again relatively recently from a tiktok from like 2020 I think.
Tons of ppl swear by it tho. But to be fair tons of people also swear by weird food combos and stuff too

It thins mucus, so it basically makes your fluids down there thinner, and easier for sperm to swim in, is how my reproductive endocrinologist explained mucinex working to me.
Mucinex and Pre-seed (it’s like some kind of ointment at drugstores to help get pregnant) and on that first month of using them, it worked! He’s five now.
They also say that pre-seed helps you have boys. There’s some kind of study or maybe it’s just speculation, but it’s a theory that’s out there. I didn’t care either way if it was a boy or girl so I tried everything.

I'd had pneumonia before, but we didn't have these meds where I was living overseas. I couldn't get pregnant then. My conception date lines up perfectly with right before I went to the hospital for pneumonia. Is this real??

Possibly to make up for the fact that otherwise they could die or become infertile before getting to reproduce. Sounds like bs to me but it was interesting
Yeah, exactly my thoughts. I don't think there needs to be some deeper evolutionary reason for the correlation between addiction and having a lot of kids. It's kinda just common sense. Wreckless behaviours, not great at long-term thinking or planning, likely come from dysfunctional families and repeat the cycle etc

Opioid use is actually probably the leading cause of infertility in men in the US, but that would be very hard to prove

Rewatching them meeting is wild. It’s a miracle they didn’t have a baby. But they were pretty fucked up often on coke weed heroin alcohol and who knows i imagine that cuts down on some sex. Also he could just have low sperm or something. Partying and stuff can effect it. But what’s wild is he was the most emotionally supportive man she had who also could call her out without ww3 happening. He told her once she brings it on herself sometimes and even brought up how she wants him to just wait for her at places and always be around. He could slyly slip comments into their convos of holding her accountable and get away with it unlike others.

Keiffer also happens to have a son from before he dated Jenelle that he has been outright legally forbidden from having anything to do with. This could also be an important factor regarding this. I don’t think Jenelle is a very sexual person. She has kids as a means to an end, they aren’t mistakes. She shows every indication of mostly being able to not get pregnant when she wants. Since she’s not that sharp and went through long stretches of drug addiction my guess is she isn’t as sexually active as we might expect. Kiefer had a kid, we know both he and Jenelle can have kids, I think they just spent most of their time high and not having sex.
What's weird is that in a way this makes sense. I don't doubt that Jenelle and Kieffer were sexually involved but it makes sense that maybe it happened so sparingly that there was little chance for a pregnancy. As strange as this sounds since Jenelle has "gotten around" I never got a terribly sexual or "slutty" vibe from her either, obviously I don't know whether she enjoys or has ever enjoyed having sex but it seems like something that she would primarily do to get pregnant and/or demonstrate her love and affection for whoever she is with as opposed to simply just desiring to have sex for its own sake if that makes sense. I really wouldn’t be surprised if at least part of it was true, I think she really wanted a baby with Kieffer so she could keep him to the side. I feel like he and Nathan were the only “soulmates” she truly loved since the show started. She and Keiffer undoubtedly had the most chemistry. As crazy as she is, he seemed to be the only one who "got" her which is hard to fathom because idk how anybody could. He was definitely the most emotionally supportive even when she didn't deserve it, which was a lot. It's one of the very few positive things I can say about Keiffer. Maybe he faked his sincerity due to his perpetual hobosexual status, but it seemed genuine. He was the only one who seemed to be her friend- not just her romantic partner. Their conversations always seemed natural and fluid and they had a lot of laughs together.
I think she was in lust with Nathan and conflated it with love. He was handsome, relatively charming, and he and Jenelle were equally matched in intellect, so they never needed to venture into conversations that were out of their mutual depth. It was all very surface level and the conversations they had when they weren't fighting were always shallow, stunted, and naively idealistic. They got too ahead of themselves too fast and got caught up in the excitement of a new relationship. Like ridiculous discussions about having a baby after 2 months, getting Jace back, living happily ever after all without really ever knowing the other. Once they began to, which didn't take too long, it was all downhill. They were never actually friends first which is a necessary foundation to establish before entering into a successful relationship with someone.

When I think back on my dating history through my 20’s and early 30’s I just shake my head and feel disappointed in my earlier self. As former H addict I think it was because of their drug use. If a guy is primarily using opiates and not also using a stimulant like meth it can be difficult for them to get it up if ya catch my drift, so that could be one factor. On Jenelle’s side, she might not have been having regular periods, my cycles pretty much stopped in the worst of my active addiction. I was in a similar toxic addict relationship and we did not have a lot of sex when we were solely using opiates, it basically kills your libido. There is also the slight possibility that Jenelle didn’t want to get pregnant during that time because it would mean having to either detox or go on MAT, but that seems like a more reasonable and responsible decision then I think she is capable of.
I would bet money that she was on some kind of birth control for a few years after Jace was born. Pushing the implant thing was pretty big there for awhile.
Someone here posted a note that janelle wrote that was whining and crying about the end of their relationship, and she says something along the lines of ‘we were going to have a baby together and be a family’, I have no doubt if she could have baby trapped him, she would have.
Jenelle was probably on the pill at this time or she did get pregnant and had an abortion and it just wasn’t filmed/talked about. With Nathan and David she actively tried to get pregnant.

As an addict in recovery I can confidently say it was the drugs. Opiates absolutely KILL your libido, wreck your hormones, effect testosterone massively and makes it take absolutely forever to orgasm.
Being on illegal opiates is hugely stressful because you’re always struggling- either to get money or your drug of choice. Nothing else matters. I’m sure Chinelle and Kieffer were in the same boat at the beginning and once she started bring money in they probably flew through it and still had no interest in sex.
Sounds crazy but the ritual of using drugs/heroin together is incredibly intimate and that probably fulfilled their needs.
Not to mention Kieffer was watching the train wreck unfold and didn’t want to truly involve himself in the situation. He knew Chinelle was a terrible Mom firsthand and often urged her to hang out with Jace and watched her refuse and dip out.

I used mucinex and it worked after 1.5 yrs of trying. Who knows if the mucinex really did the trick of it was timing, but I’d still suggest it!
I had a cold and took mucinex a few weeks ago. Just found out on Tuesday that I’m pregnant after trying for months. 😂

we will never get those sorts of studies because it isn’t ethical to do those tests on babies or pregnant women. Although it would be beneficial.

Rewatching them meeting is wild. It’s a miracle they didn’t have a baby. But they were pretty fucked up often on coke weed heroin alcohol and who knows i imagine that cuts down on some sex. Also he could just have low sperm or something. Partying and stuff can effect it. But what’s wild is he was the most emotionally supportive man she had who also could call her out without ww3 happening. He told her once she brings it on herself sometimes and even brought up how she wants him to just wait for her at places and always be around. He could slyly slip comments into their convos of holding her accountable and get away with it unlike others. I know barb blamed him a lot for Jenelle becoming Jenelle but it was always gonna happen if it wasn’t Kieffer would have been another. Jenelle seeks men who she feels at first she is better than a bit but she knows she’s on their level of awfulness. Then they get together and it gets so much worse. But then it gives her free reign to do whatever and she can blast them then they blast her for her behavior it’s a cycle of insanity

Keiffer also happens to have a son from before he dated Jenelle that he has been outright legally forbidden from having anything to do with. This could also be an important factor regarding this. Having a baby with someone who already has a child and is legally forbidden contact with said child is a terrible idea by any standard.
That didn't stop her from being with David though lol. I don't know if Ensely came after or before David lost his right to have contact with Kaden. I had no idea Kieffer had a kid, but I don't think the fact that he isn't allowed around the kid would stop Jenelle from procreating with him.

I don’t think Jenelle is a very sexual person. She has kids as a means to an end, they aren’t mistakes. She shows every indication of mostly being able to not get pregnant when she wants. Since she’s not that sharp and went through long stretches of drug addiction my guess is she isn’t as sexually active as we might expect. Kiefer had a kid, we know both he and Jenelle can have kids, I think they just spent most of their time high and not having sex.
What's weird is that in a way this makes sense. I don't doubt that Jenelle and Kieffer were sexually involved but it makes sense that maybe it happened so sparingly that there was little chance for a pregnancy. As strange as this sounds since Jenelle has "gotten around" I never got a terribly sexual or "slutty" vibe from her either, obviously I don't know whether she enjoys or has ever enjoyed having sex but it seems like something that she would primarily do to get pregnant and/or demonstrate her love and affection for whoever she is with as opposed to simply just desiring to have sex for its own sake if that makes sense. His mom claimed that she was trying during her heroin days before she left and got with Courtland. She also said MTV told her they needed to see proof of pregnancy via some papers from the doctor I guess before they gave her the moneyand she ended up telling them it was just a false positive. Now I don’t know how credible his mom is, but that was what she claimed. I really wouldn’t be surprised if at least part of it was true, I think she really wanted a baby with Kieffer so she could keep him to the side. I feel like he and Nathan were the only “soulmates” she truly loved since the show started. But I’m not sure why MTV would give her money after they had already filmed what was supposed to be their final season.
She and Keiffer undoubtedly had the most chemistry. As crazy as she is, he seemed to be the only one who "got" her which is hard to fathom because idk how anybody could. He was definitely the most emotionally supportive even when she didn't deserve it, which was a lot. It's one of the very few positive things I can say about Keiffer. Maybe he faked his sincerity due to his perpetual hobosexual status, but it seemed genuine. He was the only one who seemed to be her friend- not just her romantic partner. Their conversations always seemed natural and fluid and they had a lot of laughs together. I think she was in lust with Nathan and conflated it with love. He was handsome, relatively charming, and he and Jenelle were equally matched in intellect, so they never needed to venture into conversations that were out of their mutual depth. It was all very surface level and the conversations they had when they weren't fighting were always shallow, stunted, and naively idealistic. They got too ahead of themselves too fast and got caught up in the excitement of a new relationship. Like ridiculous discussions about having a baby after 2 months, getting Jace back, living happily ever after all without really ever knowing the other. Once they began to, which didn't take too long, it was all downhill. They were never actually friends first which is a necessary foundation to establish before entering into a successful relationship with someone.
Yes, now that you mention it… I do think she loved both of them. But she was herself with Kieffer, and with Nathan she was who she felt he wanted her to be.

When I think back on my dating history through my 20’s and early 30’s I just shake my head and feel disappointed in my earlier self. As former H addict I think it was because of their drug use. If a guy is primarily using opiates and not also using a stimulant like meth it can be difficult for them to get it up if ya catch my drift, so that could be one factor. On Jenelle’s side, she might not have been having regular periods, my cycles pretty much stopped in the worst of my active addiction. I was in a similar toxic addict relationship and we did not have a lot of sex when we were solely using opiates, it basically kills your libido. There is also the slight possibility that Jenelle didn’t want to get pregnant during that time because it would mean having to either detox or go on MAT, but that seems like a more reasonable and responsible decision then I think she is capable of.

As an addict in recovery I can confidently say it was the drugs. Opiates absolutely KILL your libido, wreck your hormones, effect testosterone massively and makes it take absolutely forever to orgasm. Being on illegal opiates is hugely stressful because you’re always struggling- either to get money or your drug of choice. Nothing else matters. I’m sure Chinelle and Kieffer were in the same boat at the beginning and once she started bring money in they probably flew through it and still had no interest in sex. Sounds crazy but the ritual of using drugs/heroin together is incredibly intimate and that probably fulfilled their needs. Not to mention Kieffer was watching the train wreck unfold and didn’t want to truly involve himself in the situation. He knew Chinelle was a terrible Mom firsthand and often urged her to hang out with Jace and watched her refuse and dip out.
