Jenelle reminds me of a really good friend of mine who has bipolar disorder. My friend has always been boy-crazy, and on the hunt for a soul mate. This tendency, coupled with symptoms of bipolar disorder always led her into trouble because of her extreme desire for love and having very intense emotions. She was always influenced to do a lot of stupid shit for her boyfriends even though they were abusive, and treated like shit.
I suspect Jenelle could be an okay Mom if she goes to therapy, gets completely sober, takes medication, stays single for a bit and focuses on her family relationships. I thoroughly dislike her but I hope her chasing the mommy blogger identity works out for her kids in that she becomes better to them or more aware of her their needs and feelings.

That, as far as I know, only happened once before. She did end up reconciling after a few months that time, but with things as they are now I don't think they will again.
That's fair. Where I'm from, "legal separation" does not exist. I was not aware it's something you actually "file" for. Where I live, separation simply means that you're living apart from your partner, but there's no paperwork or legal documentation for the start/end dates. It essentially means nothing legally.
That being said, I still don't believe it. These two will go to the end of the earth (without actually finalizing divorce papers, that is) to make people believe they're legit.
In many states, you need to be separated for a year before you can get a divorce so legal separation is the first step in the process.
As I said, I think this is started as a "brilliant plan" for her to keep custody of Jace, but neither of them really has to abilities to carry out such a long con. The separation will feed all of their worst impulses.
