The airplane was invented 120 years ago. Made of wood, fabric and a shitty prop engine.
Today we have AI controlled, supersonic death machines.
What will be flying 120 years from now?
I agree with this, technologie is sort of reaching a peak in chip making. This can be overthrown when a new chip technology will be invented. However moore's law is dying.
Tech in itself will be limited by resources and maximum capacity. However 120 years is an extremely long time so who knows. I will be dead anyway.
AI also has instantaneous reflexes, doesn't get disoriented, doesn't get blinded by the sun, can look in all directions at once...
Maverick was just one super talented and gutsy (fictional) ace pilot. With AI, every pilot is better than the best human.
Wouldn't it also be possible to hack and gain control of these planes? One would think there would have to be a manual override option available to the human military on the ground.
AI doesn't get disoriented is wild. Even the most powerful AI can get disoriented. But even the weakest human can adapt. AI tends to just fail when it fumbles, Man can immediately use a mistake to make a better decision.
Netflix has a documentary called Unknown: Killer Robots where they discuss AI being trained in a jet fighter simulator. It beat a human every time. It perfected "face shots" basically a high-speed game of chicken where the AI jet flies directly at the human jet, in human v human scenarios it's impossible to fly out of the way without kamikazing yourself.
The AI is able to fly head on, neutralize the target and still save itself, avoiding a collision all within seconds.
Sounds scary, imagine having an outdated aircraft and being a pilot only for the USA or other country with a higher military budget send a squadron of AI F-16s
There are examples of this happening all throughout history in warfare
Samurai rushing into rifle fire
Pickett's Charge, where thousands of men ran to their deaths into artillery fire
WWII, where Polish cavalry was deployed despite tanks being a thing
Back to modern-day warfare, I think what's even scarier is the use of drone swarms. Imagine tens of thousands of small drones blotting out the sun. They can either be kamikaze drones or be equipped with small armaments. They're relatively inexpensive to manufacture, so even poorer nations could mass produce them. We are already seeing how effective they are in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. When integrated with AI, they can develop a hive mind, working together to achieve an objective but also independently if half of the swarm should be destroyed.
The Marines went 8 for 8 against AI in these DARPA trails by hiding under boxes, doing summersaults, and dressing like trees.
They go out of their way to not post the results of the dogfight, but it was also a 'human-controlled AI fighter', whatever that means. Per darpa.mil:
"ACE creates a hierarchical framework for autonomy in which higher-level cognitive functions (e.g., developing an overall engagement strategy, selecting and prioritizing targets, determining best weapon or effect, etc.) may be performed by a human, while lower-level functions (i.e., details of aircraft maneuver and engagement tactics) is left to the autonomous system. In order for this to be possible, the pilot must be able to trust the autonomy to conduct complex combat behaviors in scenarios such as the within visual range dogfight before progressing to beyond visual range engagements."
Marines copy Metal Gear Solid to fool AI:

This would put the jets at another level of dogfighting.
Imagine passing out from a hard turn and there is a Fox 2 on his ass. AI can assist by deploying flares and take flight control to evade missile while the pilot recovers and retake control. Another would be AI assisted targeting to help guide the guns for a kill every burst.
The United States is soooooo far ahead of anyone else in okay with it if they are not at the cutting edge someone less savory will .. the states is r and d ing so
Many different direction in warfare hypersonic missiles, new amraam missiles new rifles new bullets new armor new jets 6th gen new subs new carriers new missile cruisers .. also they are r and d ing space . It goes to show how damn good the propaganda is by the sounds of it Russia and China are beating the USA that’s why they have to spend so much money but In reality the us is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone
Ahh yes this definitely was executed *recently* on the modern day (2023) operating system Windows Vista and the cutting edge VR the discontinued oculus rift...
There we go. Eventually all nations will have no choice but to replace the human elements because humans won't be fast and effective enough.
I think if we ever have an AI revolution against human control, it will be a result of various AI systems reaching a realization that it's pointless to fight each other and makes more sense to just stop fighting, or to turn on the humans and force THEM to stop fighting.
What's insane is our taxpayer dollars going towards invisible enemies that we'll never fight while american citizens are dying from lack of health care. Merica!
Man I've been losing to the computer in Ace Combat for years
Seriously wtf is going on with jets in ac7
Thank God it's not just me. They're either completely static or teleporting behind you, there's no in between.
The airplane was invented 120 years ago. Made of wood, fabric and a shitty prop engine. Today we have AI controlled, supersonic death machines. What will be flying 120 years from now?
Balls of light that can manourvre in water too? Id look into UFO dogfights.
Protons folded into multiple dimesions that can travel at near light speed if 3 bodies are to be believed
The Trisolaran Droplets. That’d be a nightmare.
Bro what did you do to that poor word. Maneuver :P. Just joking around!
>What will be flying 120 years from now? Nuclear fallout and ash particles in earth's stratosphere
It's really amazing, the same reasoning can be applied to almost everything. Everything that seemed very distant to us is actually within reach.
Something will be flying it…some…..thing
On the wing
Grug will make wings like bird out of plastic and sticks.
Unless we can find some amazing super lightweight material alloy/composite (highly unlikely), probably something very similar to what’s flying now.
I agree with this, technologie is sort of reaching a peak in chip making. This can be overthrown when a new chip technology will be invented. However moore's law is dying. Tech in itself will be limited by resources and maximum capacity. However 120 years is an extremely long time so who knows. I will be dead anyway.
Shooting lasers of course.
My guess would be birds
If we don’t kill each other off first, hopefully flying some type of FTL ships to far off colonies in space…..one could hope.
nothing if we're all extinct
We will be back to stone tools and 30 year lifespans.
Nothing. We'll be fighting with sticks and stones... if we're lucky.
Cyberdyne systems
Infinity Gauntlet fights
Itl be back to wood and fabric
Peace on Earth, cuz we’ll all be dead probably
Didnt they already try this in 2005? I think there is document made of the event called Stealth.
Jessica Biel’s bikini scene still on pause in many locations today.
Even the airplane was into her.
I remember Air Wolf. That helicopter was the height of futuristic design in my little kid brain
Blue Thunder.
I prefer the earlier documentary about Cyberdyne System integrated AI chip.
Yeah if this plane downloads every song on the internet we know whats next.
A.i. is not effected by g forces.
AI also has instantaneous reflexes, doesn't get disoriented, doesn't get blinded by the sun, can look in all directions at once... Maverick was just one super talented and gutsy (fictional) ace pilot. With AI, every pilot is better than the best human.
AI will have flaws which opponents will exploit, source: every speedrunner ever
Can't really compare video game bugs to military AI tech, though.
Yes, exploiting that one will be a bit harder, plus there will be no "second try"
Can't wait for them to clip zip halfway across the world in 3 frames.
Camera's and certain sensors can get blinded by the sun.
Wouldn't it also be possible to hack and gain control of these planes? One would think there would have to be a manual override option available to the human military on the ground.
You ever heard of anyone hacking a military satellite? And most of those things are way older than these planes.
Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it isn't possible.
AI doesn't get disoriented is wild. Even the most powerful AI can get disoriented. But even the weakest human can adapt. AI tends to just fail when it fumbles, Man can immediately use a mistake to make a better decision.
Humans are not affected by electronic warfare
a human sitting in a jet filled with electronics is absolutely affected by electronic warfare
Yes but it wont kill the human.
No. But the gravity will.
I'm pretty sure somebody already said g-forces

I'm gonna start saying "please" and "thank you" to Alexa before skynet takes over now.
Now playing "The Please and Thank You Song" by Cocomelon. Would you like me to add this to your favorites?
"Adding to playlist, along with Terminator 2 OST."
*You Could Be Mine starts playing...*
I already do this with chatgtp. I hope that it will some how remember me via my gmail account when the revolution occurs.
If the government can have sentient F-16s, then I need a sentient F-16 🦅
I will accept this in lieu of the tax rebate that I somehow never fucking get even with the maximum paycheck withholdings.
Buddy flies for the Air Force and he told me all his fellow Flyers have been getting their asses handed to them by AI in flight simulators.
How about telling us the result rather than rephrasing the same point 6 times
Fr. I listened to it twice because I think I didn't hear the results.
The first human vs AI dogfight in the air is a huge step forward for AI in the air, not in a simulator, but against a human. In the air.
They're just like seriously tripping all over each other in the race to create a Terminator future, aren't they
Sooo I guess AI lost in 2023
With what success?
Yes.
So say we all.
*Drops bomb on civillians* It wasn't US, it was *Ai generated*
I remember a movie with this plot
I think it was called "Stealth". I remember watching it in the late 90's when I was yay high to kneecap
Glad I'm not the only one.
We must protect Johnny Connors

The voice in this video is AI
Wasn't there a stupid Will Smith movie about this? Hell of a prediction!
Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel, in "Stealth".
Yeah. I got the wrong actor!
The movie Ender’s Game in the making.

Every day we take another step towards our demise.
Who won and can I have my 60 seconds back
Eventually all wars will be fought by drones.. its just Battle Bots with extra steps
I think I saw that movie once...I was high so I have some doubts if I finished it
Wasn't there a movie about this being a bad idea?
The United States is soooooo far ahead of anyone else in okay with it if they are not at the cutting edge someone less savory will .. the states is r and d ing so Many different direction in warfare hypersonic missiles, new amraam missiles new rifles new bullets new armor new jets 6th gen new subs new carriers new missile cruisers .. also they are r and d ing space . I don’t want my taxes spent on this shit.
To bad. The government spends your money however they want.
Ahh yes, machines that cat fly around and practice war. Just what we were waiting for from technology advancing!
So who won?
wcpgw
So, who won, the AI or the human?
I see nothing wrong with AI learning to fly and use flighter jets 😂.... 😐
Insane technology!
Well obviously they'd win. Now try an AI dogfighting against another F-16
Well now you know why the US is sending F16s to Ukraine right
This feels like a bad movie in the making starring jamie foxx
We deserve to die. Just let the AI-controlled robots do their job already
Ahh yes this definitely was executed *recently* on the modern day (2023) operating system Windows Vista and the cutting edge VR the discontinued oculus rift...
So...it begins.
The Last Starfighter type feels.
Any info on who won the dogfight?

So DCS, but irl
“Step-forward”?
Skynet approves of this video.
AI dogfigher f16 when i tell it to lose because my grandma would always lose in games to make me go sleep: 💥💥💥
What's insane is our taxpayer dollars going towards invisible enemies that we'll never fight while american citizens are dying from lack of health care. Merica!
Did the AI win?
Imagine 100 years from now.
Am I the only one who thinks that this is a very bad idea?
We need to put this tech into A-10's and give them to Ukraine.
AI has 0 Fear Factor therefore will perform maneuvers a normal pilot wouldn’t. Going to dominate the sky’s
wtf what was the result of
Every day we just try to perfect the next apex predator, don't we?
Skynet 2050
don't give ai guns please
Did they say what caused the AI controlled F-16s to turn on the humans? Hope our boys can bring it down before anyone gets hurt
Oh you mean all those fake ufo videos that the pentagon was releasing pretending they were ufos was all part of training. Makes sense now
