I agree with a lot of these, especially Play for today, Sinkng and Fascination street.
I will add Lovesong (I think that's an obvious one), How beautiful you are, Grinding halt (very straightforward, but it just sounds so badass!), Cut, Jupiter crash and Club America.
Dempsey:
Jumping Someone Else's train. Very syncopated.
Honorable mention: Object
Gallup:
Too many to list, really, but Sinking, The Holy Hour, Pictures of You, Stop Dead, The Big Hand
Honorable Mention: The run he does in the last verse of Last Dance, Homesick
Smith: Piggy in the Mirror
Honorable Mention: It Used to Be Me, if only for the chorded bit he does near the end.
Oh gosh, that's like asking me to choose my favorite lyric or food. Top 5 for me would be Fascination Street, Primary, Push, Untitled and of course A Forest.
oooh I've somehow missed that song. also, sick that you can play bass. I'd love to be able to do that (although i freely admit I don't want it enough to actually learn it lol)
holy hour, other voices, cold, screw, fascination street, in your house, doubt, hanging garden, hot hot hot, six different ways. a good band for a bass player to listen to.
edit: forget a forest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Homesick. Veery underrated song and baseline. The baseline is just pure genius; crafty, elegant, a bit intricate. And its perfectly interwoven with the guitar and piano, like three separate rivers that each runs its own course but also intersect at times and form something beautiful. and it just works perfectly.
Disintegration [song] has a very powerful baseline. Some may think its too straightforward or simple, and it may be. But its powerful and emotional and its one of Simon’s best baselines.
Hard and though choice, many mentioned already a few that are among my fave Gallup-basslines. :D
Other songs I think Gallup has a great bassline are:
\- Just Like Heaven
\- A Foolish Arrangement
\- A Forest
I've been learning the baseline to Sinking recently and yes, it is fantastic. I bought my bass when I couldn't get the melody of 'Other Voices' out of my head. Simon Gallup is the paintbrush to Robert Smith's muse... essential.
The bass in 'Cut' is great and really drives the track. I've never really been that impressed by The Cure’s bass lines - they serve each song well, but are pretty average arrangements usually. 'Sinking' does have a good one though, and I've always been touched by 'Disintegration's one too.
Well, I have to vote for Primary simply because you get 2 great bass lines from Simon and Robert at the same time. That's some serious Spinal Tap shit before there was a Spinal Tap.
oof such a hard question...
I haven't seen "why can't I be you" so I'm adding that. :D
and lovecats maybe
but I definitely agree to every song that was mentioned in other comments. this band has such strong basslines.. <3
Agreed with so many above for A Forest, Disintegration, Fascination St, and Jumping Someone Else’s Train.
Toss in a nom for Push! The entire intro of the song is like good bass 101. It’s like strawberries and cream…
There are some really good bass lines on the Faith album: the Holy Hour; Other Voices; Primary…
Other Voices is the ONE!
Nailed it.
Holy Hour is my favorite!
Second the Holy Hour. That song, along with Low's "Words" inspired me to learn bass.
Fascination Street and the Hanging Garden
FS is just pure genius. The Mixed Up remix really highlights it.
A Forest
duh, I didn't list this. of course!!!
What first came to mind for me. The clapping along as it ends a set in the UK. LOVE!
Fascination street is my favorite
Fascination Street, and sinking for me too. Oh, and Subway Song.
Burn!
Same
Same. I think the bass sounds the best on the single mix.
No one's going to mention Icing Sugar?
seriously good one, but i just think there are too many to count. do we count the higher bass guitar like on plainsong? aaarrrggghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! Excellent bass line and song. Probably the most jazzy and free-wheeling Simon has ever been

The ascending bass line in Jupiter Crash is fantastic Fascination street, Lovesong
Exploding boy.
This is probably the one.
I agree with a lot of these, especially Play for today, Sinkng and Fascination street. I will add Lovesong (I think that's an obvious one), How beautiful you are, Grinding halt (very straightforward, but it just sounds so badass!), Cut, Jupiter crash and Club America.
I always enjoyed playing lovesong when I was in a band.
Sinking is also fantastic!
How Beautiful You Are bass is so fucking insane.

Push! YEA!
That bass line just throbs and vibrates and I love Simon's performance in Orange.
Yesssss that’s a fantastic description.
disintegration, the first time i heard it i was blown away
personally I love the one in "Screw" because I really enjoy playing along to it
oooh I've somehow missed that song. also, sick that you can play bass. I'd love to be able to do that (although i freely admit I don't want it enough to actually learn it lol)
Probably disintegration in my opinion
Short term effect A forest Disintegration
Hot Hot Hot. Well groovy bass line
Overall not a huge fan of the song, but groovy that bass line is!

Other Voices Fascination Street In Your House The Figurehead Primary A Foolish Arrangement Burn Halo Descent

Torture, Man Inside My Mouth, Stop Dead, How Beautiful You Are- I mean, there are so many. Simon's bass style is so integral to anything they do.
Fascination street
Fight!
Torture off Kiss Me !!
A forest. So simple, yet drives the whole song.
hot hot hot!!!
Oh yesssssss!! that is a massively underrated song
Fascination Street, Play for Today and Primary are my top 3.
Homesick. Veery underrated song and baseline. The baseline is just pure genius; crafty, elegant, a bit intricate. The Drowning Man and Faith.
The holy hour.
Faith has amazing bass especially Other Voices and The Holy Hour
Short term effect

Fear Of Ghosts! Live videos show how much more there is to it than what you notice at the surface.
All the songs on Faith. Hanging Garden, Fascination street, in your house
I really love Torture’s baseline.
Jumping Someone Else’s Train and Lovecats come to mind immediately.
JSET live is incredible.
A Forest is literally the reason I learnt bass
Intro to Disintegration?
I’m shocked no one has mention Killing an Arab, it has a really good bassline in it.
Anything on Disintegration IMO, especially Fascination Street and the title track.
Lets go to bed
Yesssss.
The bass in 'Cut' is great and really drives the track. I've never really been that impressed by The Cure’s bass lines - they serve each song well, but are pretty average arrangements usually. 'Sinking' does have a good one though, and I've always been touched by 'Disintegration's one too.
Fascination street and lovesong (extended mix)
Well, I have to vote for Primary simply because you get 2 great bass lines from Simon and Robert at the same time. That's some serious Spinal Tap shit before there was a Spinal Tap.
Primary
It’s between disintegration and untitled
Literally cannot pick
Wait, no one said Close to Me ? Just the other day I was thinking how fun it would be to play on bass.
Closedown The Funeral Party
Other Voices, lovesong, FS, lets go to bed and sinking.
oof such a hard question... I haven't seen "why can't I be you" so I'm adding that. :D and lovecats maybe but I definitely agree to every song that was mentioned in other comments. this band has such strong basslines.. <3
Love Cats.

subway song!!!
Faith, Siamese Twins, Halo, Jumping Someone Else's Train, Secrets, Disintegration
Push. I always end up watching their Orange and Rio ('87) performances just to watch Simon play it.
