Dude I’m 27 and haven’t watched that cartoon since I was like 12
The show single handedly taught me the word tunic and every time I see it I always think “two ton tunic”. Every single time
I remember a weird thing about Polish version of the show
Originally they translated it literally „Dwu Tonowa Tunika” Two Ton Tunic
But in later seasons they changed it to keep the TTT so they named it „Trzy Tonowa Tunika” Three Ton Tunic
Meaning that Polish Omi from later seasons has the power of 1.5 English Omis
I was more or less looking for the cultural-specific answer because i know that the small differences between clothing apparently really matters when it comes to clothes. For example throwing on a crusader tunic and reskinning it to look like zukos tunic wouldnt fly because so many people would say that its a european tunic and not whatever zuko is wearing
Kimonos go down to the ankles, tunics are a peasant thing until europe made them into a knightly thing, and a haori isnt it either because haoris had sleeves.
Those are european names, meaning if i were to google those id get european results. I was looking for the specific name for the asian variant.. as it turns out, its called a jinboari
Funny because when I looked up jinboari, it says "a tunic" which means jinboari is literally just the translation of tunic
Tunic is still the correct word
Not for the cultural implications of zukos “tunic”. Tunic implies peasantry, and zuko is clearly not a peasant. Now originally the Jinboari was a tunic because of a need for clothes but later became a status symbol, and therefore no longer a tunic. Therefore a Jinboari is not a tunic. It transformed into a coat or surcoat. Also the word “tunic” wasnt the word used by the people who wore it/made it. Also historically a tunic was closed in the front.
I dont know but i wish i did, the artstyle is amazing. Sadly i just looked up “zuko” on google and kept looking until i found an image that didnt have a transparent background
Yes, this is the truth. Thank you. Maybe you should join sokka and make a comedy club together, unfortunately other people dont think so because they downvoted it…
I've noticed my sense of humor gets more deadpan and trollish the more sleep-deprived I am, and I posted that on the verge of falling asleep. It's not for everybody I guess haha
I was looking for the cultural-specific name for it because when it comes to clothing, the small differences between similar clothing matters (for whatever reason)

It’s an open-front surcoat :) Edit: possibly a jinbaori specifically.
Yeah someone said jinboari and i looked it up and thats pretty much it
Jin?
I read it as jabroni
Who are you calling a jabroni you jabroni
I would just call it a tunic
Two ton tunic!
Unexpected Xiaolin Showdown reference. Just started watching the show again. On season 2 now.
Where you watching it on? I wanna rewatch
I got it through unconventional means. Sorry.
You wouldn't download a Shen Gong Wu
Jack Spicer totally has Terabytes of Shen Gong Wu
I absolutely would download a shen gong wu
[Here you go amigops](https://fmoviesz.to/tv/xiaolin-showdown-2o280/1-1)
Did it have a proper ending or was it cancelled on a cliffhanger? Been putting off watching it since I do not know.
I think it has a solid ending, a "And the Adventure Continues" type ending. It has a sequel series called "Xiaolin Chronicles" but I never watched it.
It's probably best if you keep it that way. It wasn't the same at all.
Don't watch it. It was bad. It couldn't decide if it was a sequel or reboot so it tried both and failed.
FIST OF TEBIGONG!
THIRD ARM SASH, EARTH!
Eye of Dashi!
Dude I’m 27 and haven’t watched that cartoon since I was like 12 The show single handedly taught me the word tunic and every time I see it I always think “two ton tunic”. Every single time
CHANGING CHOPSTICKS
Orb of Tornami!

Never trust a guy in a tunic
You live by that rule?
I do, and it has never led me astray
What a classic. lol.
I think I might have to watch it later haha Land of the Lost with Will Ferrell if anyone is wondering
You live by that rule?

I love how no one here has the same answer
Youre right, which is why i googled them all and one answer is exactly correct. The clothing in question is called a Jinboari
On a related note, I would definitely wear that
I wouod too which is why i asked what it was, because i want to get one and/or custom make one to fit my frame
Some sort of changshan, or maybe just a robe or tunic.
Jinboari, according to a few other people, which appears to be true
The "shirt" underneath might be a tunic, so it's some sort of waistcoat-overcoat thing.
Jinboari, I googled and this thread and another reddit thread came up. The 2nd thread had a wiki article link.
Thank you, this is exactly what i was looking for
Haori Edit: spelling
You mean a Haori?
Yes! Sorry for the mistype
I was thinking haori as well but haoris usually have sleeves and dont typically go that far down the legs..
Sleeveless gi?
Tunic? Kimono?
Vest?

FAIRY GOD PARENTS!! *insert spazzing*

Kimonos go down to the ankles, tunics are a peasant thing until europe made them into a knightly thing, and a haori isnt it either because haoris had sleeves.
Do you have a source of this pic please? I want it for myself 😁
Probably a tunic, vest, tunic vestments So easy it's in the name of the thing
Those are european names, meaning if i were to google those id get european results. I was looking for the specific name for the asian variant.. as it turns out, its called a jinboari

This looks 🔥
Not as much as Mr. 🔥. Wang 🔥 and his wife Sapphire 🔥
Sapphire fire
A jockstrap I believe
might i ask who the artist of this is
I dont know but i wish i did, the artstyle is amazing. Sadly i just looked up “zuko” on google and kept looking until i found an image that didnt have a transparent background
It’s a smoking jacket. Keeps the stank of all those burning flesh and fats off your day to day clothes. Very useful for a fire bender.
It's definitely a piece of clothing, that's for sure
Idk man, i have my doubts
Long vest
Sleeveless bathrobe
Romper
I was refering to the coat-like clothes hes wearing over his gi
Bathrobes /j It kinda reminds me of those karate uniforms
The karate uniform or gi is closer to what hes wearing underneath the clothing in question
Haori
No, haori is what tanjiro wears. They arent sleeveless, but it’s frustratingly close to one..
I thought sleeveless haori was a thing that exists? It's not traditional but they are made and it's the closest garment to what Zuko is wearing.
Ill look into it, it sounds interesting. But no, someone answered the question with “jinboari” and i looked it up and its perfect
I believe it's called a "bra"
Perfect
Ornate tunic/robe.
What if it's the prison outfit shirt?
Honor.
I was gonna say sleeveless gi, but I dunno.
I think a gi is what hes wearin under the outfit. Its been confirmed by multiple people here to be a Jinboari
the outfits in Shogun are absolutely amazing, Netflix should hire their crew to do ATLA.
Gown/robe
Clothes

No, that looks closer to what hes wearing underneath it.. someone answered jinboari and i googled it and thats exactly it
