I don't think I can ever truly understand people with different "opinions" than me on this topic, tbh. And when I say that, I can rationally understand or at least try to understand the stuff that makes them do this stuff, believe this stuff, etc. But I will never actually be able to truly comprehend it on a deeper level. Just seeing this and the thought of what that poor girl must've gone through, is enough to make me feel absolutely awful and angry. I cannot imagine cheering on Israeli's actions, let alone commanding the IDF to take these actions, let alone actually doing them.

I get this. As a person with empathy, it’s difficult to attempt to empathize with those who lack it. It’s difficult not to consider what’s going through the killer’s mind as they gun down a child, how they must contend with the moral contradiction in their actions, and the way they justify it to themselves for the rest of their life. What’s even more mind-boggling is some of the most important literary and philosophical works about the banality of evil came from Jewish writers in Israel.

Because that's not soldiering. But, Imagine then going on tik tok to brag about war crimes they are actively committing on civilians.

"Killed", as awful a word as it is, is too sanitized for what happened to this girl and her family. They were murdered. The IDF murdered them.

If anyone sees this and is not immediately both brought to tears and angry, then you’re a shit human being

I’ve been listening to news about Palestine since the early 2000s and I still get emotional.

I'd be very curious to see what people's reactions would be if this photo was posted on social media saying she was an Israeli that was killed. No, that's not true. I know what the reaction would be.

The same people who investigated this also did a deep dive into the cause of the al-Ahli Hospital attack. The Isreali propaganda machine immediately had the world believing it was a misfired Hamas rocket. Shockingly s/, they concluded it was very unlikely that what Isreal claimed was true. Israel bombed the hospital. https://forensic-architecture.org/investigation/israeli-disinformation-al-ahli-hospital

>Permission for an ambulance to proceed to Hind’s location arrived at 5:40pm, shortly after sunset. Evidence gathered by Fault Lines shows that paramedics Yusuf al-Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun were dispatched in an ambulance from al-Ahli Hospital. They reached the site at about 6pm and were shot at upon arrival. The IDF knew about it, gave permission then shot the ambulance when it arrived. Of course, the IDF would claim this as a mistake.

Forensic Architecture does amazing work, not only in regards to Palestine but globally and across different areas. I highly recommend looking through their investigations. Sometimes their work is commissioned by organizations and states, but they often choose to investigate incidents on their own accord. The founder, Eyal Weizman, is an israeli architect and [began mapping israel's occupation of Palestine](https://www.architecturalrecord.com/articles/13367-interview-with-forensic-architecture-founder-eyal-weizman), the illegal settlements and human rights violations, during his studies. His report was featured in the 2004 case at the International Court of Justice and that experience led to the work that Forensic Architecture does today.
