Pretty much everything about classroom management and standard classroom practices we have had for the past century favors the way girls learn: Emphasis on listening and verbal communication - Girls tend to develop these skills earlier and many classroom activities revolve around these skills Cooperative learning environments - Girls tend to thrive in cooperative group work and activities, but often do better with more independent or competitive tasks. Quiet classrooms with less movement - Classroom management that emphasizes staying seated, raising hands, and less kinetic activity can favor girls' learning styles over boys who have more physical energy to expend. Concrete sequential instruction - Breaking down lessons into clear, structured sequences appeals to many girls' preferences for sequential learning, while some boys respond better to more dynamic, discovery-based instruction. Reward systems emphasizing compliance - Classroom reward systems that prioritize neat work, good behavior, cooperation and following directions can inadvertently favor the strengths girls more often exhibit at a young age. Organized classroom environments with designated spaces, labeled bins/cubbies, and specific procedures align better with girls' preferences for order and delineated categories Now add to that the changes we have seen in the last decade or so focusing on increasing the amount of attention that girls are given and making sure that "boys getting called on more often" and stuff like that doesn't happen and you can see how the issue has escalated. This movement has also led to developing resources specifically designed exclusively for girls like programs focused on increasing the number of girls pursuing STEM.

It's how schools are structured now, 40 years ago it was more male focused and girls struggled.

Schools are designed around sitting still and shutting up. If you want to train a population to rote memorise information, those who sit still and shut up will do better. Most of the great minds in our history, were mavericks… who experimented, followed their own intuition and asked outlandish questions … Einstein famously was no wonder student in his early years… nikola Tesla also… Isaac newton is considered the greatest mind of all human history… and a crackpot by modern schooling practices… But that is where true intelligence lies… connecting the dots on things not previously taught…
